Paging server

Hello I purchased 2 business edition 6k one as sub and the other as pub , each one has basic paging server license , how can i implement paging server redundancy without need to purchase the advanced notification ?

Hi,
As per the following the Advanced license key is required for Informacast resiliency

  • Informacast Paging server - URL Authentication

For configuring CUCM 9.1 for Informacast paging , we have to change under Phone URL Parameters >> URL Authentication >> "URL Pointing to paging server ( paging server IP Address) .  Here we are changing CUCM IP address to  Paging Server IP .  How does it impact on other services, features and functionalities ?

Lisa - really glad to know, this helped you!
Regards to your second query please change both the Phone authentication and Secure phone Authentication URL to http informacast URL.

  • Cisco Paging

    Hi friends!!
I am a CCVP, i would like to discuss about cisco Paging service.
firstly ->as i know, earlier cisco doesn't allow paging, it recommends informacast from single wire. now i came to know that cisco is providing paging service, is this true?
secondly -> if cisco is providing paging what are the requirements from where we have to download paging software or license.
what is the procedure to move further.integration procedure.
we have 70 cisco IP Phones
kindly help to find more information

    Dear George,
It was glad to see your reply on my post!
now i got a clear picture about cisco paging and informacast.
how can i proceed with basic paging service, as i have downloaded that software from cisco website.
    For reference follow below .

  • InformaCast basic paging - SIP configuration

I'm setting up an InformaCast basic paging server to work with our Call Manager cluster (CUCM version 10.5.1 / InformaCast version 9.1.1).
I'm up to the part where I need to install a SIP trunk and have a question - setting up this SIP trunk won't impact normal voice calls will it? Is it only for communication between CUCM and the paging server? The documentation I'm following says that CTI route points were used in the past, but now SIP is the preferred method http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/cisco_paging_server/9_1_1/InformaCastBasicPaging_InstallAndUserGd_911.pdf
I apologize if this is a stupid question - I'd rather ask a stupid question than make a stupid mistake...
    Thanks in advance!
    Lisa

This particular SIP trunk (not SIP trunks in general). I am asking if it is for communication between CUCM and InformaCast.
Just trying to learn more about it's purpose and how it works.
    Thanks.

  • Multicast paging over DMVPN over MPLS

We're using IPcelerate as our paging solution and have the need to extend the application across our MPLS/VPLS network. I'm looking for a configuration or, at the very least, some guidance to get this working across a DMVPN over said MPLS/VPLS.
    Regards,
    -Mike M.

    Hi Michael
I have been in a similar situation before of having Paging to traverse over the WAN IP MPLS network with SingleWire Paging system. If we are talking about Audio paging, it is built on the IP multicast networking and thus to extend this service to remote offices connected through IP MPLS network, the Service provider should enable IP multicast over its VRFs for you. In my case it was not feasible by the Service provider(s). SingleWire introduced a solution of a Paging Gateway that is integrated with the paging server and it is located at the remote office. The Paging server sends the target audio mulitcast as a unicast session to the paging gateway in the remote office and then the paging gateway sends on the LAN as a multicast .
I am not sure if IPcelerate has a similar solution, but it is worth asking and validating.
    Hope that helps

  • Paging and Notification Features included with CUCM 9.1!

At last we have paging functionality using our own IP Phones on our UC systems. Starting with CUCM 9.1, Cisco has entered into an OEM agreement with longime developer partner Singlewire to include their well known InformaCast product with every CUCM install. All orders of CUCM will come with the Cisco Paging Server software DVD which has the InformaCast product and documentation on it. The DVD has an ISO file with OVA for installing in a virtual environment plus all documentation. You can quickly see how when running UC on UCS or a Business Edition 6000, you can create bundled packages of specific UC apps (1 VM per app) on a single server that is a perfect fit for specific verticals. This is going to be extremely helpful when targetting K-12 applications as well as hospitality, manufacturing, transportation and higher ed opportunities.
The way it works is that basic paging features are now free with every CUCM product. Basic paging consists of the ability to send point-to-point or group live audio pages to/from Cisco IP Phones. There are an unlimited number of groups/zones to be configured and a maximum of 50 users per paging group. So all users of a system can participate in a variety of paging groups but without upgrading to advanced, 50 users at a time is available. Paging across sites is also supported with a properly configured multicast WAN network.
But we aren't just providing the basic functionality with UCM, all advanced features from InformaCast will also be delivered and optional. Since these features are new to many customers, there is a 60 day trial of the advanced features to show customers what they have available to them and to determine if it is a good fit in their environment. Many applications require the high level functionality like that listed below, and the ability to claim these as being available with every UCM order as a single vendor solution is extremely powerful. No other competitor will have a UC product shipping with all of the advanced emergency notification and security awareness features like Cisco UC now has.
The advanced features are what will be a great sales conversation starter to set your Cisco UC system apart from the rest. Included with this are features like:
    Pre-recorded/scheduled broadcasts (school bells/shift changes)
    Notification to Jabber IM
    Notification to Social Media
Communication with mobile and remote users
Triggered notification to/from other systems- M2M input/output (panic buttons, door locks, lights, etc.)
Integration to existing overhead paging systems
Text and Audio to Cisco IP Phones and other endpoints
    Broadcasts to IP Speakers
    911/emergency call monitoring/alerting/recording
    Weather Alerting with CAP
    Dynamically-triggered emergency conference calls
    And more..
When trying to close a new UC deal, leveraging Cisco’s new paging and notification features can change the sales conversation to something that no one can match for a standard shipping, on-box solution. We can set the new standard that for all applications, mass awareness and security notification features are required with any UC solution. We will be able to respond to RFP’s where no other manufacturer can meet the single vendor/product requirement for voice and emergency notification together.
Many customers will be satisfied with paging through Cisco IP Phones but those looking for higher level security and awareness features, advanced notification is highly recommended. Those licenses can be obtained in 2 ways:
*Perpetual licenses from SolutionsPlus on Global Price List (SP-INFORMCST-2500=, SP-INFORMACST-1K=,SP-INFORMACST-250=)
*Annual Subscription liceses directly from Singlewire- [email protected]. Quoting Tool: http://www.singlewire.com/quote_gen/quote_form.php
For more info: [email protected] and http://www.singlewire.com/ic-learn.html

Great article, there is now a new range of cyberdata singlewire informacast enabled IP Intercoms. I found some here through this UK supplier. www.ipagingsystems.co.uk The Intercoms double as a paging ip speaker that accept SIP and Multicast.

  • CUCM paging through registered phones speaker

    Hello,
We have a CUCM 7.1.3 system with a variety of Cisco VoIP phones (models 7910-12, 7960-61, 7965, and 8961's).
Is there a method to configuring paging to announce through all registered phones' speakers? If so, could someone point me in the right direction for documentation.
    Thanks

Informacast basic paging is shipped with CUCM 9/10 - http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/unified-communications/paging-server/index.html
CUCM 7 requires 3rd party solution for text and audio paging, like this one - http://aurus5.com/phoneup/paging

  • [Help] Paging nav bar like google results

    Hi ,
I' wondering how can i make a navigation bar for paging like this

Set up your title, content, etc. dynamically in a database table then create a recordset to show the dynamically-generated links to detail pages. For paging of results use the repeat region server behavior to show results on page set to entered number. For next, previous, first, last, use the recordset paging server behaviors with a combination of conditional region inside show region server behavior to show if first page, show if not first page, show if last page, show if not last page. There's also paged view using spry. There you have it.

  • A few questions from a REAL beginner

OK, so I am very very very new to HTML, CSS and Dreamweaver and I have a few questions. But before I start let me just state that I have been messing around with HTML, CSS and Dreamweaver for like one week so take it easy if these questions are obvious.
    1. Is there a way to create a type of "sign in" function that is relatively easy? Or do you have to have knowledge of many different scripts and languages to do so?
    2. I would like to have an archive system where if I post an article on my site and then two days later i post another one it saves the first one i posted and can be viewed in some form over time. Is this possible?
    3. If multiple people will be posting on my site is there a way I can have it set up where the articles automatically say "posted by _______" after each person signs in (If #1 is possible of course)
    4. And lastly, this one is similar to #2 but is there a way to make a blog type setup in Dreamweaver? Yes, yes i know there is wordpress and I frequently use wordpress but you can only have on blog page per url and i dont like that. I am trying to be able to write multiple articles in a day and would like for them all to be reached pretty easily.
Thanks in advance to the brave person who will put up with my childish questions.
And just so you all know i would like for the person answering these to explain them as if they were talking to a child lol

    Heya,
First you have to choose a scripting language in order for one to direct you to tutorials on how to use it. I recommend php as it seems to be the most widely used and supported. Then go over the the Application Development forum since that's where most discussions of this nature reside.
Whatever scripting language you choose you'll have to setup a database first. I recommend MySQL; again as it seems to be the most widely used. Then connect your database to dreamweaver through the Server Behaviors window. After that you can add server behaviors to help in your development. For instance Dreamweaver has server behaviors to create registration, signup, restrict access pages. Then you can have a page that uses a Insert Record, Update Record, Remove Record server behavior to add, edit, or remove blog entries into your database. After that have another page that uses the Recordset server behavior to get a record of the database. You can then display the record on the page by dragging the value of the recordset from the Bindings Window in Dreamweaver. There's also repeat region server behavior to repeat the record to show (all or) a set amount of entries like blog1, blog2, blog 3 etc. There's also a Paging server behavior to automatically create page indexes of blog entries so first 10 on one page with links to page 1, 2, 3, 4 previous, next, first last, etc. to show additional entries on respective pages.
Your best course of action is to have a definite agenda of development goals. First choose a scripting language, then setup your database. Connect your database to Dreamweaver, then add server behaviors. That's the workflow for dynamic development. After that creating your feature is basically only a matter of what server behaviors to use and what queries to run to your database. If you have any other questions about development it may be best to ask further inquiries in the Application Development forum. If/when you do ask in the forum about stuff like this then mention what scripting language and database model you're using.
Oh and also if this is your first venture into dynamic development then do yourself a favor first and setup a local testing server on your computer. What kind of computer are you using? Mac/PC and what OS version? There's different ways of setting up a local testing server depending on your computer and OS.
I am in the Application Development forum a lot so if you have any other questions regarding dynamic application development just hit me up there.
    Hope that helps!

  • Oracle 9i installation hanging in "Clone Database Creation in Process"

    Hi all,
I have been struggling in installing the 9i in my laptop.
    Here is my setup,
OS: Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition SP2 in VMWare
    Database: Oracle 9i 9.2.0.1.0
When it automatically comes to "Database Configuration Assistant", there are 4 steps.
    Copying Database files
    Initializing Database
    Creating and starting Oracle Instance
    Completing database creation
The 1st 3 steps has been completed and the installation just hangs at the last step when the completion rate is 88%.
Anyone got problem like this ?
Here are the details I have so far for the DBCA during installation process,
    Listener Control complete.
Listener start failed. Listener may already be running.
    Listener configuration complete.
    Default local naming configuration complete.
Oracle Net Services configuration successful. The exit code is 0
Since I am completely new to installing DB, please help me to get rid of this frustration.
    Thanks !
    Regards,
    Chris

  • Oracle 9i Database 9.2.0.1.0 Issues...

    Hi Friends,
I downloaded the Oracle DB 9i Enterprise Edition (9.2.0.1) from Oracle's website for my class assignment. When I got to the screen that says "Installation types" Oracle 9i Database 9.2.0.1.0 and hit the NEXT button the universal installer disappears with no warning right at 36%. So then I tried to choose "Custom" instead of Enterprise Edition and the same exact thing happened. My computer specs are as follows:
    O/S: Windows XP Professional

I would appreciate ANY help as my assignment is due on Monday. I have uninstalled and reinstalled so many times and nothing seems to work. My friend suggested that there may be a DLL file causing conflict somewhere. I don't know...I just need help and I am so frustrated with this! Thanks.

    Hello Everyone,
I found a log file in c:\program files\oracle\inventory\logs. I am not sure if this will show anything but I am so desparate right now that I am willing to try just about anything. So...below please find my log file when I tried to do the install. If this is the wrong log file, can you please tell me where to go to get the right one. Thanks friends! This is the most frustrating thing...

  • Slide Show with Thumbnail Index

Background info: I created a database driven slide show using
Dreamweaver and ColdFusion which displays an enlarged photo within
an album (detail.cfm). I am using the Dreamweaver "Recordset
Paging" server behavior to allow the user to click "previous" and
"next" to view each photo in the entire album. I am also using the
"Show Starting Record" and "Show Total Records" server behaviors to
display "3 of 10 photos". I have a link on the page which goes to a
thumbnail index which displays the entire album in thumbnail form
    (thumbnail.cfm).
Here's my question... I want to be able to click a photo on
the thumbnail.cfm page and have it go back to the detail.cfm page
and have the photo display while keeping the album information
(like navigation, # of records) so that it's like I navigated to
that image using the Navigation buttons not the thumbnail page.
Let's say there are 10 photos in the album and I click on the 3rd
photo on the thumbnail page. I should be taken back to the
detail.cfm page and the 3rd photo displays along with the
"previous" and "next" buttons plus "3 of 10 photos". However, I
can't figure out how to do that. I tried passing the #idPhoto#
using the URL.scope from the thumbnails.cfm page and having the
recordset on detail.cfm page process the #idPhoto# in the query
string, but then the Navigation links and Show Starting/Total
Records displays there is only 1 record which is true because I
    filtered it.
Any thoughts on how to link from the thumbnails.cfm page back
to detail.cfm page, show the correct image that was clicked, within
    the album contents?
    Thank you very much!
    Lori

  • Business Edition 6K Solution request

    8Hi, guys
I have a doubt related to a solution that I want to deploy
    Here is the scenario.
My company wants to offer services...communications services, and we are thinking a lot about the price of the equipments.
So, in order to avoid the clients to buy the entire solution, we are thinking about deploy a SINGLE solution on my office, and, as we have fiber connectivity to the customers, we would ONLY deploy at their end endpoints and PoE Switches (if needed).
So we are thinking about a single appliance and it is: Business Edition 6000 that is a single UCS where all communications are integrated.
Is this solution affordable for this issue??
How we can we sepate the traffic from distinct customers?
As BE6K comes with 1000 user licenses, is it possible to do somthing like this:
    From 1-100 my office
    From 101-500 customer A
    From 501-900 customer B
    From 901-1000 customer C
And, as configure partitions and CSS's in order to avoid that they (the customers) call each other and at the end, send to them only the Billing for EXTERNAL CALLS only.
    Any help on this?
    Regards
    Edson Vuma

Business Edition 6000 is a packaged solution that consists of the following foundational elements:
    Cisco Unified Communications Manager
    IM & Presence
    Cisco Unity® Connection
    Cisco Prime Provisioning
    Cisco UC Virtualization Hypervisor
    Cisco Unified Computing System C200 M2/C220 M3 Rack-mount server.
Following applications can be optionally added to Cisco Business Edition 6000 solution.
    Cisco Unified Contact Center Express
    Cisco Unified Attendant Consoles
    Cisco Emergency Responder
Cisco Telepresence Video Communication Server (Supported only with UCS C220 M3)
    Cisco Paging Server
So, as far you have mentioned should cover all your needs.

  • Launching new database pages, and passing parameters to them.

The immediate reason I am investigating databases is to
    enable me to automate my
photo album. I have developed a layout which I like
    (see
    http://www.corybas.com/Albums/New%20Zealand_05/Main_index.htm)
but at present the page for every photo is hardcoded. This is
    very effective,
but also very tedious to set up, and difficult to modify. The
    part I would like
to automate has two levels of indexes, and then the
    individual photo pages.
Every page has three navigation arrows - a back arrow to go
    to the parent index,
and left and right arrows to go to the preceding/following
    index or photo.
I have a number of albums for different holidays, but they
    are linked together,
so that effectively they all become one big album, which you
    can traverse at any
    level.
I think I can see how to set up the necessary databases, and
    define the
appropriate pages, but the thing I still don't understand
    (and which I don't
think is covered in David's book, other than by buying the
    expensive Interakt
package) is how to make the navigation arrows launch the new
    page, and pass the
    necessary parameters to it.
I would also very much like to make the arrow keys on the
    keyboard have the same
    effect as the navigation arrows.
I would envisage a separate page (and probably database) for
    each level. Each
page would be passed the number of the item to be displayed,
    a pointer to its
parent, and possibly an item number for the parent. When a
    left or right arrow
was clicked the new item number would be calculated and a new
    page launched to
display it. If the next page was in a different sheet, or
    even a different
album, a new parent would also have to be calculated. These
    calculations could
either be done before launching the new page, or in the
    preamble to the new
    page.
Any suggestions as to how I should go about this?
