Paid hotmail, has anyone made it work yet?

I have the latest free and £20 upgrades, but am struggling connecting the mail application to hotmail.
Hotmail plus accounts (for which I pay) enable POP3 email and per hotmail this is what you need to do:
"Our POP service requires that you use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) with the POP and SMTP connection and use SMTP authentication. This is to ensure that your email address and password are not subject to tampering. The settings are the following:
* POP: pop3.live.com (port 995)
* SMTP: smtp.live.com (port 25)
o Note: make sure you check the box that indicates that your outgoing server requires authentication (in most mail clients this is not checked by default).
* Username: your full email address
* Password: your Windows Live ID password"
so I did this, but my ipod touch still cannot pick up my hotmail, all the other upgrade items work well. The app won't pick up my email, saying "the username or password for pop3.live.com is incorrect"
Anyone any ideas?

I wrote to hotmail support and they enabled my pop3 features, which appeared at least in my case to be not available automatically from the date I started paying, a few years ago, nor when they upgraded hotmail plus to support POP3 generically - last year according to their support site.
I know this is completely outside the scope of this forum/thread, but I'm more curious how you updated to Hotmail Plus? I don't see any upsell links or ways to get it upgraded.

  • Has anyone made any work for CiA Draft standard proposal 406 for Encoders?

    We are asked to program a test application for encoders. The encoders have a varity of interfaces. One of them is CAN which uses the CiA Draft standard proposal 406 for Encoders.
    Has anyone made VIs for this standard?

    Hi,
    This seems like a application layer protocol. Is that right?.
    If so, NI doesn't have VIs to decode this particular protocol. At the moment the NI-CAN driver provides the Frame API or the Channel API.
    Let's see if someone else has worked with this protocol.

  • JDev 9.0.3 Remote DCM to 9iAS - Has ANYONE Made it Work?

    All,
    I have been trying to create a connection to my 9iAS 9.0.2 server from JDev 9.0.3 using Remote DCM. I've successfully installed the DCM servlet, and appear to be successfully connecting to the DCM servlet on the remote server. However, I keep receiving the message "Invalid Oracle Home directory" when testing my connection in JDev.
    I've ensured that I've typed the home directory with the proper mixed case, as required because of its case-sensitivity. That didn't work, so I tried all caps, all lowercase, adding a trailing "\"... every stupid hack I could think of. No luck.
    From other posts I've read here, it appears that perhaps this highly-publicized feature JUST DOESN'T WORK! Before I accept that conclusion...
    Has ANYONE out there ACTUALLY managed to get this to work? If so, please pass along your magic trick...
    Thanks!

    i had same problem. i try to connect from a linux machine to an remote oracle aplication server installed on a windows machine.
    in the "remote server's oracle home directory" path i had to escape the '\':
    the original path is: "C:\oracle\ora10gAS". the connection succeded with "C:\\oracle\\ora10gAS".
    i dont know it is the same with windows to windows connections.

  • I have an epson workforce 600 which is not listed as airprint enabled. has anyone made this printer work with airprint?

    i have an epson workforce 600; it is not listed as one of the printers that is airprint enabled.
    has anyone made it work with airprint? if so, please tell me how.
    thanks.

    The Workforce 600 is not AirPrint-compatible. Epson has an app that enables printing to some of their other wireless printers. Search the iTunes Store or look to the support resources for your model of printer. Third-party printing apps such as PrintCentral are also available. All such apps have limitations, so check them out thoroughly before you pay for any such app.
    You could also route the printing through your computer. If you have a Mac, Printopia would be worth a look. Fingerprint is another option that is available for both Mac OS X and Windows system. You could also consider an AirPrint-capable print server. Lantronix makes a couple of models, including one that supports a USB printer:

  • Has anyone got iFS working in Tomcat ?

    iFS 1.1.9
    We have a urgent need to get iFS running in a Servlet 2.2 container and OC4J does not support iFS yet. I know this is not supported but has anyone got iFS working in Tomcat ? If so, pls do me a BIG favour by letting me have your config files, such as
    - server.xml
    - <tomcat home>\conf\web.xml
    - web.xml for the tomcat context)
    - wrapper.properties (if you are using tomcat as an NT service)
    - tomcat-apache.conf (or equivalent)
    - <oracle home>/apache/apache/conf/httd.conf
    - A listing of relevant environment variables (by doing a "set>env.lis" or similar)
    - and any other files you might think is relevant
    Thanks a million in advance.

    iFS 1.1.9 / Oracle 8.1.7 / Tomcat 4.0.1 / Windows 2000
    After several hours of fiddling around with the configuration
    files, I finally got the iFS up and running on my test machine.
    Briefly here's what I did:
    1) create application directories
    <tomcat_home>/ifs/files/WEB-INF/classes
    <tomcat_home>/ifs/files/WEB-INF/lib
    2) Add the following to <tomcat_home>/conf/server.xml:
    <Context path="/ifs/files" docBase="ifs/files"
    debug="0" reloadable="true">
    <!-- got this from jserv.properties -->
    <Environment name="ORACLE_HOME" type="java.lang.String"
    value="oracle_home"/>
    <Environment name="ORACLE_SID" type="java.lang.String"
    value="sid"/>
    <Environment name="LD_LIBRARY_PATH" type="java.lang.String"
    value="oracle_home/lib:oracle_home/ctx/lib"/>
    <Environment name="NLS_LANG" type="java.lang.String"
    value=".UTF8"/>
    </Context>
    Please replace oracle_home with your installation directory and
    fill in your SID as well.
    3) create <tomcat_home>/<tomcat_home>/ifs/files/WEB-INF/web.xml
    with the following definitions:
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>oracle-jsp</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>oracle.jsp.JspServlet</servlet-class>

    </servlet-mapping>
    tomcat_home and ifs_home must be replaced with your installation
    directories.
    4) Copy the iFS and Oracle JARs to the locations specified in
    web.xml
    You may choose either the applications lib directory or the more
    general tomcat_home/lib for that purpose.
    One hint on libraries: Tomcat will ignore ZIP files, you have to
    use JAR. I renamed Oracle's classes12.zip to classes12.jar for
    that reason.
    5) Create settings.jar
    This was the most tricky part. I packed everything under
    ifs_home/settings into the file settings.zip, renamed this to
    settings.jar and moved it to the WEB-INF/lib directory. Seems a
    bit of a kludge to me, anyone with a better solution is welcome.
    6) Start tomcat
    7) try http://yourtomcathost:8080/ifs/files/index.html
    You should see the ifs login screen then.
    One word about the application environment. In this
    configuration every user class has to go into
    <tomcat_home>/ifs/files/WEB-INF/classes, the
    ifs_home/user_classes is of no use here. And don't try to set
    the classpath within catalina.bat, tomcat will completely ignore
    this setting.
    Finally, I know that this environment is not supported but as
    long as the iFS servlet meets the standards, every standard
    compliant servlet engine should do the job.
    Good luck

  • Has anyone made a Watts UP? Meter vi??

    Hey. Well, there are several ways that I have found to make tables 508 compliant. The one I went with is as follows:
    public static class AccessibleTableSelectionListener implements ListSelectionListener {
    JTable innerTable;
    public AccessibleTableSelectionListener(JTable table) {
    innerTable = table;
    public void valueChanged(ListSelectionEvent e) {
    if (e.getValueIsAdjusting()) return;
    ListSelectionModel lsm = (ListSelectionModel)e.getSource();
    if (innerTable.getRowCount() > 0 && !lsm.isSelectionEmpty())
    setAccessibleNameForSelectedCell(innerTable);
    private void setAccessibleNameForSelectedCell(JTable table) {
    int selectedRow = table.getSelectionModel().getLeadSelectionIndex();
    int selectedCol = table.getSelectedColumn();
    if (selectedRow >= 0 && selectedCol >= 0 && table.getCellRenderer(selectedRow, selectedCol) instanceof DefaultTableCellRenderer) {
    String selectedCellValue = table.getValueAt(selectedRow, selectedCol) == null ? " " : table.getValueAt(selectedRow, selectedCol).toString();
    String selectedColName = table.getColumnName(selectedCol) == null ? " " : table.getColumnName(selectedCol).toString();
    TableCellRenderer renderer = (TableCellRenderer)table.getCellRenderer(selectedRow, selectedCol);
    Component comp = renderer.getTableCellRendererComponent(table, selectedCellValue, true, true, selectedRow, selectedCol);
    comp.getAccessibleContext().setAccessibleName(selectedCellValue + " " + selectedColName);
    } // End of AccessibleTableSelectionListener
    You may need to tweak the above code to fit your app a bit. There is a bug here though. If you use jaws and a mouse, you will notice that jaws reads the last selected row. If you want to go around this you will need to delete the mouseListeners on the table and rewrite one that takes advantage of the above code. If you need any more help, just ask.

  • Back to Mac - Has anyone got it working?

    I've hooked my laptop up to another ISP and i can't see my desktop in the Shared Section. When i'm on the same network I can see the desktop, share the screen and all that fun stuff. Has anyone got it working? Could it be my network configuration?

    I had a read through the manual that came with Leopard last night and was a little dissapointed to read this part in regard to Back to My Mac:
    With your .Mac membership, an internet connection, and Back to My Mac and sharing services turned on, you can access any of your computers from anywhere on the internet."
    Sounds like you might need a .Mac account for Back to My Mac. I think you can do the same kind of thing with iChat though so i guess you can still take control of someones Mac over the net to help them fix a problem. But you may need .Mac account to, for example, access your home computer from your work computer.
    I could be completely wrong and im certain someone will point this out if i am wrong. Im still getting to grips with all the new features here.

  • Tomcat 5.5 issues, has anyone got JSF working with tomcat 5.5 yet?

    Hi,
    Firstly I'm wondering if anyone has got JSF 1.1 working with tomcat 5.5 yet.
    I'm trying to move from tomcat 5.0.25 to 5.5.4 and my JSF webapps have not liked the move at all.
    The classpath doesn't seem to be a problem as I have all the .jars that are required in the classpath of tomcat just like before.
    I see the error log in stdout.log (catalina.out on linux) have been reduced to only show the precise error. Or at least is seems at lot easier to read.
    My error is simply
    SEVERE: Error listenerStart
    SEVERE: Context startup failed due to previous errors
    I reverted back to using the examples provided like jsf-guessNumber and the car-demo but neither of these will start-up.
    This issue seems to have occurred to lots of other people previously but I couldn't find a particular fix or direct compatability issue with tomcat.
    Has anyone encountered this before?

    Back again,
    Allright well after a little thought I concluded that this issue had to be some to do with the classpath and the changes between the two tomcat versions.
    I had a look at
    http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-5.5-doc/RELEASE-NOTES.txt
    and noticed that tomcat 5.5 leaves out some important .jar as they are only needed for java 1.4.
    -------------------- EXTRACT ------------------------
    Installing the compatibility package will add the following to the list, which are
    needed when running on J2SE 1.4:
    * jmx.jar (Java Management Extensions API 1.2 or later)
    * xercesImpl.jar (Xerces XML Parser, version 2.6.2 or later)
    --------------------END EXTRACT ------------------------
    Therefore I tried putting xercexImpl.jar back onto the tomcat classpath and JSF works once again.
    Ah what a relief.

  • Has anyone made Portal & SSL work?

    I posted the topic http://technet.oracle.com:89/ubb/Forum70/HTML/000680.html a couple of days ago but no response (got a second question added, though). Which makes me wonder - has anyone gotten Portal to work with SSL - not just the Login Server but the whole enchilada?

    STEP 6
    Now, there was a question as to how to restrict access to only HTTPS URLs. To do this, we can specify some Apache directives to restrict access to certain locations to HTTPS. However, recall that we said the Portal currently can only use HTTP to request some of the Login Server URLs. So, we need a workaround to let the Portal access those URLs over HTTP, but forcing all users to use HTTPS.
    This can be achieved by the following steps:
    Setup a DAD for use by the Portal when accessing the Login Server
    Edit the %IAS_HOME%\Apache\modplsql\cfg\wdbsvr.app file and copy the DAD_portal30_sso section and rename it to portal30_ls (for example), so you wind up with 3 DADs - portal30, portal30_sso and portal30_ls.
    In the sncookiename field, specify the same cookie name as used by portal30_sso -- 'portal30_sso'
    [DAD_portal30_ls]
    connect_string = pencarna
    password = portal30_sso
    username = portal30_sso
    default_page = portal30_sso.wwsso_home.home
    document_table = portal30_sso.wwdoc_document
    document_path = docs
    document_proc = portal30_sso.wwdoc_process.process_download
    ;upload_as_long_raw =
    ;upload_as_blob =
    name_prefix =
    ;always_describe =
    ;after_proc =
    ;before_proc =
    reuse = Yes
    ;connmax =
    pathalias = url
    pathaliasproc = portal30_sso.wwpth_api_alias.process_download
    enablesso = Yes
    sncookiename = portal30_sso
    stateful = No
    ;custom_auth =
    Specify Apache directives to require use of SSL
    Edit the %IAS_HOME%\Apache\modplsql\cfg\plsql.conf file, adding the following directives after the top few lines...
    # Enable handling of all virtual paths beginning with "/pls" by mod-plsql
    <Location /pls>
    SetHandler pls_handler
    Order deny,allow
    Allow from all
    </Location>
    # Have all accesses to /pls/portal30 require the use of HTTPS
    <Location /pls/portal30>
    SSLRequireSSL
    </Location>
    # Have all accesses to /pls/portal30_sso require the use of HTTPS
    <Location /pls/portal30_sso>
    SSLRequireSSL
    </Location>
    # Define a new DAD which will allow HTTP access, but only from the Portal DB
    <Location /pls/portal30_ls>
    Order deny,allow
    Deny from all
    Allow from localhost pencarna.us.oracle.com
    </Location>
    # Do not allow access to the following URLs from any browser
    # These will be accessed by the Portal through the portal30_ls DAD
    <Location /pls/portal30_sso/portal30_sso.wwsso_app_admin.validate_user*>
    Order deny,allow
    Deny from all
    </Location>
    <Location /pls/portal30_sso/portal30_sso.wwsso_app_admin.print_fapp_username*>
    Order deny,allow
    Deny from all
    </Location>
    <Location /pls/portal30_sso/portal30_sso.wwsso_app_admin.external_apps_list*>
    Order deny,allow
    Deny from all
    </Location>
    Instruct the Portal to use the "portal30_ls" DAD to contact the Login Server
    Start the http server
    Log into the Portal
    click on the Administer tab
    click on Global Settings
    scroll down to the Login Server section
    update the Query Path URL Prefix to use the portal30_ls DAD, e.g., http://pencarna.us.oracle.com/pls/portal30_ls/
    That should do it. After these changes, the Portal and Login Server should be accessible over HTTPS, and the portal is able to do the necessary communication with the Login Server. If a user attempts to access the server with http, they should get a forbidden message from the server.

  • IPhone - SDK 3.0 - Store Kit - Has anyone made app restore work?

    Hi all,
    I'm doing some tests with the Store Kit for the in-app purchase feature. Everything seems to work fine but this:
    I just couldn't get restore to work.
    In particular, I notice that the SKPaymentQueue documentation refers to paymentQueueRestoreCompletedTransactionsFinished:
    and paymentQueue:restoreCompletedTransactionsFailedWithError: , supposedly part of the SKPaymentTransactionObserver protocol, but its reference page doesn't mention it at all.
    I still tried to implement it with the following prototypes:
    - (void)paymentQueue: (SKPaymentQueue *)queue restoreCompletedTransactionsFinished: (NSArray *)transactions;
    - (void)paymentQueue: (SKPaymentQueue *)queue restoreCompletedTransactionsFailedWithError: (NSError *)error;
    For testing, I have three elements in the sandbox, one of each kind, and I bought all of them and then deleted the application from the iPhone. When I install it back, I'm expecting restoreCompletedTransactions to get at least some of them restored, but none of the observer's selector gets called back.
    Has anyone successfully restored transactions? Did I miss something?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards

    Hi,
    I'm looking for informations about In App purchasing but I find any interesting things !!
    I see that your tests work fine until the restored transactions.
    So could help me to start with this feature ? I've read Store Kit Programming but I don't understand how start?
    What are the first stages to follow ? How do you create a list of product to store with their ID associated ?
    Thank you!
    Cédric.

  • Has anyone made a successful image of their Bootcamp partition with Lion?

    An earlier thread has discussed making a Bootcamp partition image but it appears that no one has actually done it with Win 7 and Lion. https://discussions.apple.com/message/16064648#16064648 This thread mentions the use of Clonezilla and Paragon software as possibilities but has anyone done it? I know my Paragon "Rescue Disk" software no longer works with Lion and Bootcamp (free and has been in beta for years). Winclone is an "end of life" software option but will it work? Maybe this thread (if it become one) might help create a list of workable options. My experience shows Paragon's "Rescue Disk" is not working and Clonezilla needs a working example and a "how to".

    Hi GeekBoy.from.Illinois,
    I'm trying to use create a clonezilla usb key to use with my new MB Pro + Lion 10.7.2...
    I have another key that I use for cloning the disk of my mac mini, but it doesn't work.
    I tried creating a new key, but it doesn't show up as an option when I reboot and keep the alt/option
    key pressed...
    I've used the following steps and two or three different iso images from Clonezilla and nothing seems to work.
    I did notice on diskutil that after formating the USB key with one HFS+ partition (a GPT version table)
    and then do the dd command to copy over the .dmg/.iso image of the clonezilla cd
    I get some weird "unformatted" partition table format at the bottom of the disk utility window...
    but this is also reported as unrecognized/"unformatted" for the working USB (the one that works
