Paid more than i should have

omg!! i paid way more than i was supposed to i didnt realize it until after i sent it... my bank says there might not be anything they can do beause i paid by credit card.. would verizon be able to stop the payment and refund so i can pay the correct amount??

I believe they will tell her they can do nothing to help her and she is stuck.  Sadly, I just experienced their customer service in relation to a similar issue. And they will tell you they showed you a screen and you agreed to pay that amount. Even if you had entered a different amount in the amount you wished to pay,  I found very little sympathy or concern about their customer's billing issues.
Please post an update, so we can see what they did for you.

    Open Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select All Processes from the Processes dropdown menu.  Click twice on the CPU% column header to display in descending order.  If you find a process using a large amount of CPU time, then select the process and click on the Quit icon in the toolbar.  Click on the Force Quit button to kill the process.  See if that helps.  Be sure to note the name of the runaway process so you can track down the cause of the problem.

  • Yesterday I bought Mac OS X Lion (10.7.5) but I think I paid more than usual.

    I have a MacBook White 2009 which I bought two years ago and it had Snow Leopard. In the last months it had been slow and the start up took a lot of time. I erased every document and every application I had downloaded. It had a memory of 2GB and last week I bought and installed two cards of 4GB so the computer had 8GB of memory. It started working perfectly but yesterday when I turned it on it remained in the start up display for more than thirty minutes so I turned it off and went to an Apple shop. I live in Colombia, and Apple shops here are not directly from Apple. The guy that I was attended by, recommended me to install the 'latest' operating system. Now, I knew that the new operating system was Mountain Lion but in the moment he installed it, I didn't see what he was doing and he actually installed OS X Lion. I realized when I got home but the worst thing is that I paid about 60 USDollars, and I saw that in the MacAppStore OS X Mountain Lion only costs 20 USDollars. What can I do?     Well as you said the Apple Store in your country are not connected to Apple your only recourse is with the shop from which you bought it. Did they actually charge you $60 for he software or is it possible they charged you labor for the technician to look at your MacBook?

    For some reason, I see from time to time, that it wakes up more that it should- looking at the log, I see that one time the same Thread ('MyWorker-1' for example) executed the task for about 10 time at the same second (with some ms difference between each execution). I know for sure that the FinalJobsCleanerTask() is not invoked by any other executor, so obviously it is something wrong with the way I use the ScheduledExecutorService.
    Do you have any idea what may cause this problem? Any clue will be appriciated :-)

    If that doesnt work then something in your code is causing it to loop more than once, or the system clock is changing.

  • TS3992 Since updating to iOS 6, my iPad has not been able to back up to cloud.  I have more than enough storage,have deleted apps, tried manual back-ups, but back-up will not complete.  I keep getting messages to back-up, but NOTHING has worked.  Help!

    My iPad will not back up to cloud inspite of trying everything mentioned.  I have more than enough space on device.  It was last backed-up on 12-12-12.  Have never had this problem before.  Keep getting messages that it needs backing up.  Have tried multiple manual back-ups for at least 24 hrs or more, but back-up will not complete.  Help!

    If you get the error "Backup not successful" and you've tried deleting the last backup and trying to back up manually without luck, try the following test:   Go to...
    Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>manage Storage, tap your device name in the Backups section, then look under Backup options.  Turn off all apps from backup and then do a manual backup.  If that doesn't work, then this post will not help.  If the backup works, then go back to the app list and turn some on and try another backup.  If successful, keep repeating these steps.  If it fails at some point, then try to zero in on the one app that seems to make the backup fail.  (I had this problem and found one app failing, probably due to a corrupt data file.)
    This process will take time, but if a backup works with no app data being used but clearly fails with the original settings, then somewhere in the mix of apps is a "bad" one.

    I wouldnt say that they are throwing at&t under the bus.. It will just keep at&t honest about where the weak spots are. I would say that they are showing a "truer" signal than was previously shown. Granted my personal opinion like in my previous post.. my best dBm level i've ever seen on my BlackBerry was -70dBm which was full 5 bars. but according to apples new software that 70dBm is within the "5 bar" limit. altho its much closer to the 4 bar section. So realistically should the blackberry have shown 4 instead of 5? Im curious to see if any former blackberry users like myself are able to mention if they have ever had lower than a -70dBm reading on their berry and how their new signal on the iPhone 4 matches up. I usually display the same level signal (with 4.0.1) as i did with my bold 9000. There are some locations that i will show 3 bars where it used to be 5 - but its a very reliable 3 (even had data rates in the 4000kbps down/2400kbps up) in the 3 bar range. So i'm very pleased.

  • [Solved] I have more cpus than I should have...

    I'm running Arch on an Intel Atom processor, which to my knowledge only comes in packages of single or dual core. However, I notice that in /sys/devices/system/cpu there are four folders, one for each "core". Also, in conly-cli, the method in which I found out about this, it showed my top four applications, the highest of them being Folding@Home. I expected F@H to be around 50%, but instead it's only stayingat 25%, which is how I found out that Arch is seeing four cores.
    I'm wondering if anyone knows why this is happening, and if there's a way to going back down to just two cores.
    (I remember reading something about virtualizing cpus to make them do double the load per core, and appear as two cores)

    Yeah, a friend of mine reminded me tht Atom 330's use hyperthreading, of which I was completely unaware of. A quick checkup on this, and I've realized that leaving it asis is better for my system.
    ... I'm still annoyed that I had some CPU cycles left on idle, even when I thought I was taking advantage of them...

  • Why does my computer not upload any updates, crash the internet all the time and give me the grey screen telling me to restart my computer more than it should?

    I can't do anything without fear that it will ask for me to restart or simply crash. I dont know what's wrong. Update load then say there is an error right before finishing, but it does this with most things. Every internet browser I have tried gives me the "(insert browser name) had crashed" and then asks for me to send a useless report to apple. Its only a year and a half old and this started about 10 months into me buying it, i tried to just ignore it but i've lost important things.

    Are you trying to do an over the air update or by connecting to iTunes on your computer?

    I have approximately 280 gigs of stuff on my hard drive. I have attempted to use TM to back up everything to a 1TB external hard drive multiple times.
    I let it back up overnight. When I come to the office in the morning it will say something like: "725.6 G of 725.6 G backed up" then both numbers will continue to go up. So, I stop the backup.
    I've combed through all of the support articles/posts here and on other sites. I've reformatted the drive several times, I've excluded pretty much everything including the external hard drive itself.
    (Strangely enough, when I exclude the external hard drive, the exclude panel says that it has 630G worth of data on it. In the general TM preferences, it says it is empty. I've erased it several times. The finder shows the HD as empty... But, that may just be unrelated)
    I don't have VM ware. I don't have any antivirus programs. The only thing that no one else seems to have mentioned on the forums is that my computer is networked.
    In short, I have 300G worth of data that I need backed up. I have an empty 1TB drive. When I attempt to do so, it backs up 700+G before I stop it.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Your TM drive should be excluded automatically, and shown in gray, meaning you can't remove the exclusion. If it's not, do a "full reset" per #A4 in the Time Machine - Troubleshooting *User Tip,* also at the top of this forum.

    Check it's setup, via #C1 in the Troubleshooting Tip. Also see if it has more than one partition (the indented line or lines under the main one for the drive in the Disk Utility sidebar). If it has more than one, should it? If so, be sure the other partition is excluded. If not, reformat it to a single partition per the instructions in #5 of the Frequently Asked Questions *User Tip,* also at the top of this forum.
    The only thing that no one else seems to have mentioned on the forums is that my computer is networked.
    That shouldn't be a problem, as Time Machine cannot back up a network drive.

  • Does FICO Score matter more than Credit Problems?

     As some of you may know I've been looking to trade-in my six month old Hyundai Accent. My pulled score (FICO Experian Auto 8) is now 649. It will go back up once new credit card balances are reported, right now it's 96%, it will be down to 8-9% by the middle of the month.  I still have one charge-off ($434), one open collection ($407) and a repo (that isn't true but whatever) from 2009. I also have some school loan lates from 2009; but nobody has mentioned that being a problem. One dealer in particular believed that the repo was serious despite it being almost seven years ago and had me write a note to the underwriter explaining what happen. I didn't even have to do this when I bought the Hyundai, I find this bizarre and possibly racial motivated.   I based that on some recent articles and also on Honda's recent fine of $25 Million for predatory lending practices on women and minorities.  Whenever I am face to face with a dealer negotiations start at MSRP. One dealer in-fact begged me to come to his store and he would sell to me way under invoice. When I got there, he claimed to have a problem with his system and could only pull TU which is my second highest score at 589. He demaned I pay MSRP for the car and to put $3,000 down as he couldn't push it through Ford he would have to use CPS or something.  This is on the back of when I bought the Hyundai I was initally told I would be approved by Hyundai but then was told I was approved only by Gateway One, when it turns out Hyundai would have accepted the deal if I could verify some information as I've had problems with my TU (listed as deceased).  I was hoping to take advantage of Hyundai's 90 days no payment (yes I know you still pay interest...) which would have allowed me to start my emergency fund for one thing.  I am almost out of this hole, my repo drops off in July 2016 and I will try to get it to come off sooner sometime after the first of the year. I could also offer First Premier PFD but I heard that it won't be accepted. Midland says it won't PFD when it has for some people.  So basically I am at where I am at. My score will continue to improve as I keep utilization down and keep paying on-time.   Will having a 670 Fico (660 Fico Auto 8) matter more in credit decisions than old negative information? Experian will get there first, I don't know whats holding back TU and EQ, there's less information on there, especially EQ but lower scores.

Just wait until it's gone, it will change the game,   Current interest rate is 18.65%  I've made all the payments on-time, of course I am under water. but.... Because my plates/fees and sales tax were not rolled into the loan like it typically is, I owe less than most people do in a similar situation. If I get fair market value for the car, it owe just over $3,000 of negative balance.  Nobody asked for income verification accept on the credit app I did online; I didn't submit pay stubs or anything else.  I know there are tiers to lending, reportedly I was Tier 4 asking for $30,000+. Whenever I asked what sort of downpayment they wanted, one dealer said about $6,000; DING, DING, DING, DING! Further investigation the same dealer said about $26,000 OTD.  So now we're in his life or death struggle -
     I want highest trade value and the lowest price. Most dealers just won't walk the plank for that; maybe if I catch a few at the end of the month as they aren't meeting sales targets, it's possible they'll take that lost but most of the time....  I got a letter from Ford Credit late last week, they denied me but didn't say why. This was interesting, so I called Ford Credit today and they are going to send me a letter stating why. The lady on the phone said usually these types of denials are conditional, IE the deal needs to be constructed a certain way, down or less money/less car, etc. This further cements that Ford feels most comfortable at $26,000.
     Any more than that I have to start putting down money. I am trying to avoid that for various reasons. I know Ford pulls EX which happens to me my highest score, it peaked at 657 (Auto 8 654) at the start of his mess which is a bit complicated. Above I mentioned I wasn't charged taxes or license fees up front. I paid those later, in fact I spent the last month paying those ($1878) including a smog test.  So while most of you pay over time. I paid mine up front....  The byproduct of that was constantly using my credit cards, they are all maxed out now. I will spend the rest of August paying those down to 8-9% not a big deal.  My current LTV is 89%.... I have checked LTV at various times, its under 100%. My payment is about 22% of income and I can easily afford it even with the elevated interest rate.  I don't mind rolling the negative I have other things I wanna do with my cash. I've done the math, I can get what I want and still have roughly the same payment.  WIth all the incentives I can get, even the optional ones, it's knocking another $2,500 off the price and that's if I don't take Ford financing. if I do, that's an additional $750 for $3250  When my credit cards update and depending on what that Ford Credit letter says will determine what and when I try this again. I can really use the 90 day payment delay they are offering right now. 
     My EX Score should hit 660-670 with ease with the balances below 9%   Waiting until it's gone (Repo) won't make much difference, no changes for the 2016 except Sync 3 and Google Auto. The updates come for the '15 model year (suspension tweaks, electric power steering tweaks and minor sheet metal changes with new tail lights). I also won't spend much more than what's being bandied about now.
