Painting with pressure sensitivity on my wacom?

Using a Mac, CS6, and a Wacom intros 5Touch PTH-450, I am using the 6D Art Pen Brushes:
1. no matter how hard I press on the Wacom, it always displays the paint stroke the same. How do you get pressure sensitivity working?
2. I changed my variable width profile, though when painting with the Wacom it does not seem to apply the variable width. How do you enable this with a Wacom?
Thanks!

I would first try uninstalling and reinstalling the Wacom driver. That has helped me before when my tablet wasn't working properly.

  • Problems with pressure sensitivity CS3

Hiya! As my title says, I'm having problems with pressure sensitivity in CS3. I use an HP Pavilion tx2000 (or, more specifically, tx2115nr) hybrid tablet-PC. I used the help feature to see if my brush settings were set correctly...but it seems that CS3 just isn't registering that I'm using a tablet at all (it shows a little yellow caution triangle warning that I need a tablet for the pressure-sensitive settings; I'm not sure if it's supposed to do that or not). I used a (sorely outdated) version of Photoshop that worked just fine with my tablet-PC, and I find it rather discouraging that CS3 isn't working...can anyone help me solve this problem?
If I'm missing any necessary information needed to help solve this problem, just lemme know and I'll post it ASAP.

I have an nvidia chipset with an nforce motherboard...I don't know how to check who made my screen, though.
The only way I know how to check if my drivers are updated is through Windows Updates...the only update I have that's not language packs is an update for Wacom (it says "Wacom - Input - Wacom USB Touch"), not really sure why though since I don't have a Wacom tablet, just my PC...anyway, I'm going to update and see if that solves my problem.

  • Illustrator CC issue with pressure sensitivity and blob brush.

Hello I ran into this issue yesterday and can't seem to find a way to fix it.
When using the blob brush, pressure sensitivity with my wacom intuos 5 works as expected. However if I switch to the regular brush tool and draw with that tool then switch back to the blob brush tool, pressure sensitivity stops working until I open the Blob brush's preferences and change any setting then click OK.
    My machine:
    Retina Macbook Pro
    Core i7 2.3 Ghz
    16GB RAM
    Nvidia 650M 1GB
    OSX 10.9.2
    Illustrator 17.1.0
    Already tried:
    - Deleting Illustrator's preferences
    - Reinstalling Wacom Drivers
    - Reinstalling Illustrator
Yet the problem persists. Any ideas? Is this a bug?

I was having the same problem. I wanted to use the blob tool and it was set to 2 point from a previous session. Every time I went to use it I got a 5 point round brush with no pressure sensitivity. It drove me crazy for awhile until I finally tried setting the blob brush to something different. After that it was fine, and I could switch back to 2 point and it began to work as expected. It seems like there's a small hiccup somewhere.

  • Pressure Sensitivity not available in CS4

I have a Calcomp DrawingBoard lll with pressure sensitive stylus which works fine in other applications like Painter 11 but loses its pressure capabilities in CS4 (both AI and PS). The stylus behaves like a mouse but in shape dynamics the pen pressure settings show a warning sign and in AI they are grayed out. It performed correctly in CS3.
    Any hints?
    Thanks
    Jon

Photoshop CS4 has had the tablet input re-written or somethign to that effect. The specific tablets it is designed with in mind are by Wacom, so it may be an issue that may not be fixed. What Operating System are you on?

  • Hp Pavilion 13x2 & Stylus Pressure Sensitivity

I'm looking into getting myself the HP Pavilion 13X2 at some point. I'm a graphic designer in need of a new computer. I would really love to have a laptop that doubles as my workspace/medium. I was looking at a lot of other brands of convertible lap tops and none(within my price range at least) seamed to support any styluses with pressure sensitivity. I was wondering if the 13X2 supported any styluses with pressure sensitivity. This is a real deal breaker for me so its important that i find something that can.
    This question was solved.

Hi Rayze, I did some research on the questions that you posted about pressure sensitivity and unfortunately this model of computer does not support the use of stylus.  I would suggest that you go on line to www.hpshopping.com   . On this site you can actually price compare from model to model as well as pull up multiple spec pages so that you can compare side by side what model is best for you.
    Hope this helps.

  • No pressure sensitivity button in brush options in flash cc

i have been using flash for the past 2 weeks and have been unable to access the option to enable pressure sensitivity for my wacom tablet. I have tried resizing the windows and restarting flash and i have had no luck

That's probably a driver issue and not Flash. try reinstalling your driver, or maybe go to the previous one instead. Also there is a thing called the Feel it driver on Wacom's site that might work for you.

  • TM2- no pressure sensitivity in photoshop!

hi guys, i just installed photoshop cs3 , which both do not work when it comes to pressure senstivity, ive tried updating  it but still no go, please, need help!

That is the unfortnate side effect to these laptops (aside from overheating issues).
I have a HP Tx2, bought solely to draw on the screen.
Its good for writing and doodling, nothing serious (not that I am aware of).  There ARE tablet pc's with pressure sensitivity (motion computing and some Toshiba's) otherwise this laptop wasn't one of them, unfortunately.

  • Wacom pen pressure sensitivity with PS elements 9

I was just using the free trial with CS6 and was able to get  it to ignore the pen pressure sensitivity, so that it was the same size no matter how hard i pressed down. In elements I'm having a hard time in getting it to ignore the pressure sensitivity. I have the pen settings in the wacom software on the softer side so you dont have to press down hard to get the full size of the brush in photoshop, but when I go to test it out in PS it doesnt ignore the pressure.
Im using it on windows 7.
    Any ideas?

With the Brush Tool selected in pse 9 did you look at the settings for the graphics tablet?
It's a small arrow as in the screenshot below to reveal the popup menu to set the pressure options.
Since you posted in the full photoshop forum you might post over in the photoshop elements forum if the above doesn't work:

  • Pressure sensitivity for Wacom

One of the things I really love of LR is the painting of adjustments, but it lacks the pressure sensitivity with the Wacon pens, which would make it even more awesome, is there a chance to see that in this version? I think it will make a HUGE difference on what we can do with the program in terms of local adjustments, that are not even possible with PS since all that data of the RAW file gets lost once rasterized into Photoshop.
    Thanks

    Victor,
I thought it was there already in 3.6 and earlier. Wacom certainly claim that it is. What tablet are you using?

  • Wacom tablet pressure sensitivity, dont work outside canvas

    Hi.
I wonder, if i'm the only one, who are having problems to start a stroke outside the canvas and follow it on the canvas, without the pressure sensitivity is all on max.
seems the same is happing, if you have marked an area and start at stroke outside that area. kinda like the brush only start recognize the pressure level when on the canvas or marking.
    does it make sense?
    running windows7 64bit intous3 A4.
tested in on my my laptop too on the intous3 A5, same problem.

    Hi JJMack
    thx for your comment
    - i'm on photoshop cs5, any brush thats pressure sensitivity, did it with both docked and floating canvas.
I think i've fixed the issue.
Apprently its a problem with the newest version of the wacom driver. And somehow it only affects photoshop.
i've downloaded the march 2010 driver from wacom. And installed that. seems to be fixed.
    /cheers

  • Can i adjust pressure sensitivity options for tools other then paint brush?

Greetings all, i'm new to Photoshop elements and this forum, could someone help me with this problem please!!!!!!
Is there a way to adjust the pressure sensitve options opacity, scatter, hue jitter e.t.c for tools other then the paint brush such as the dodge and burn tool?
I'm wanting to use the dodge and burn tools with say a chalk brush but set the pressure sensitivity of my tablet to opacity, i can do this for the paint brush by using the tablet options drop down menu but the option doesn't seem to be avaiable for  tools such as the eraser, dodge and burn and smudge tools.
I've tryed the brushes from the Pressure Sensitive set but there is no chalk brush in the Pressure Sensitive brush set that effects opacity and you can't adjust what settings are effected for each pressure sensitive brush when using tools other then the Paint Brush.
Can anyone help me with this as i've tryed everything i can think of.

I guess the easiest way would be to select the paint brush tool
and using the brush of your choice, set those options you want
    and save the brush.
Then when you select a tool such as the burn tool, select your brush.
The one option that won't apply is the hue jitter (you can't use hue jitter or
color dynamics in the full version of photoshop either for most other tools
    aside from the brush tool)

  • No wacom tablet pressure sensitivity in LR6

After installing LR6 there is no pen pressure sensitivity with wacom intuos pro tablet (Win 8.1, latest wacom driver)
With LR 5.71 everything was ok.

I have the same problem with a total different Wacom tablet and I am running 10.10.3. I have posted a thread here about it. There are others having the same issue as well: Lightroom 6 bug when using adjustment brush, mask overlay and a Wacom tablet

  • CS4 Brushes Not Pressure Sensitive with OpenGL Drawing Enabled

    Hi,
Four days into my CS4 experience. Not awful, but not good either.
Running on Vista Business 32bit, Phenom 9550 Quad Core, 4GB RAM, Nvidia 7600 GT.
I just tried my WACOM tablet and the brushes were very slow, missing the start of some strokes and most importantly no pressure sensitivity. I did
a little searching and someone suggested switching off OpenGL and this has
    fixed my problem.
Does anyone else have a similar experience ?
Also, is my 7600 GT card not powerful enough ? When I moved to CS2 from 7,
I had to upgrade my graphics card - which was running just fine with 7.
    Thanks in advance,
    Shahzad

    Hi,
    Thanks for the tip.
As it happens, I also updated both my Wacom and Nvidia drivers
and when I switched OpenGL back on, things were fine. The pressure
sensitivity was back and the lag was gone.
I'll also try playing around with the settings as you suggest.

  • Pressure sensitivity in photoshop with Sony Stylus help

I just bought a Sony Vaio Duo 11 slate computer.  It comes with a VGP-STD1 stylus where the pressure sensitivity works in Art Rage but not Photoshop.  Does Adobe not support the Sony Stylus?  It still works but no option for pressure sensitivity.  Also no pressure sensitivity in Flash.  Is there anything I can do?

Adobe supports any working stylus -- but your stylus may not implement all the APIs needed for applications like Photoshop.
Most likely you'll need to contact Sony and see if they have updated drivers for their stylus to support professional graphics applications.

  • Is there a way to simulate pressure sensitivity with a mouse?

I dont have a tablet, so is there any way I can make strokes with my mouse that look like they were made with a pressure sensitive pen? (thinner edges, thicker middle)

You can use Stroke Path with Pen Pressure enabled is one way.
What version of photoshop are you using?
