PAIR CAMERA, ALARM PANEL WITH ROUTER WITH NO WPS BUTTON

How about with the Honeywell Lynx 5100 Alarm Control Panels. Anyone have any experience with these units and connecting premise accessories to them via the HW add-on Wi-fi card?
We have an L5100-WiFi v4.9.7 adapter card installed in the alarm control panel.. We want to use the wi fi functionality to pair an HW indoor camera to it.
The camera says our router must support one button WPS in order for it to pair with the Alarm panel via the Wi Fi 2 minute window.
How do we do this if the router doesn't support one button WPS?
Our Verizon router is a M1424revF router

To get started, is the alarm panel already set up with the Wi-Fi network using a manual setup, such as what is detailed in this video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQqvPN36NAk
There's no WPS support on the FiOS routers (for a good reason too), but you should still be able to get the camera manually connected to the network. If you could give a camera model number we'll see if we can help. Most cameras that I've seen have an Ethernet port, which is often used to connect the camera up with a wired connection, or to access the camera so that wireless can be configured manually instead of via WPS.

• I need a router with a WPS button

I just bought a Chamberlain MyQ Garage and the instructions say to pressthe WPS button on the router. The Verizon router I have (MI424WR) has one, but it's not activated. The two possible Verizon upgrades are the Advanced Wi-Fi Router and the Quantum Gateway. Does either have a working WPS button? Since they sell the MyQ, you'd think they'd have to have one that does. But on a chat with a Verizon agent, I was told they don't.
Of course, this begs the question of why Verizon "detweaks" stuff. My router has a WPS button, but it's not activated. My cable box/DVR has a USB port, but it doesn't work by design. Why does Verizon deliberately make some of the equipment thwy sell less capable than the manufacturer's standard item?
And if I buy a third-party router, what capabilities might I give up?

You can Enable WPS on the Actiontec Gen 3
First log into the GUI using the correct password.
Then edit the URL at the top and plug in 6016 after "active_page=" and chop off the rest of the URL.
That results in »192.168.1.1/index.cgi?active_page=6016
Then you just check off the 'Enabled' box and click Apply

• Problems pairing a touch panel with an SX20

Hi,
I am trying to pair an SX20 with a CTS-CTRL-DV10V01 with no luck. Credentials are 100% correct but still getting wrong credential message.
Firmware version for the SX20 is TC7.1.4.908e4a9.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance for the help.
Regards,
Théo Bub

You need to be running TC7.2 on your SX20 in order to pair it with the Touch 10. TC7.2 adds network pairing support for the Touch 10 to be used with various endpoints, including the SX20. See the TC7 Release Notes on pg 22 for more details. After you upgrade, let us know if you're still having problems.

• How do I pair an older Firefox with bookmarks with the new Firefox system without pairing function?

Firefox is fantastic except when I have a problem. I must be real stupid. I have sent questions about different issues in the past and I see I got a lot of help. Unfortunately I cannot read any results. That is why I quit Firefox for a while. I just decided to give it another try; Firefox is worth it.
I have had Firefox installed on my "Win 7 Home" laptop for some time without updating it. It contains all my bookmarks from some time back. I just came back to Firefox and installed it on both my desktop machines with Win 7 Pro. The new Firefox sync and pairing are different. I cannot pair my old laptop with my new machines to copy all my bookmarks. I also cannot pair my two desktops.
What makes it worse, I cannot get the laptop to join the same home group my desktops are in. I tried different combinations with each computer and laptop creating the home group, but I could not get either desktop to be in the same home group as the laptop. The desktops would join each other's home group but not the laptop's. I can see all machines are connected to my home network. This dummy needs help.

Hi watashi,
Welcome back :-) I would be very happy to help you out. The new version of Firefox 29 has a new sync. It just came out, so there is no worries about not knowing. Almost easy as pie: [[How to update to the new Firefox Sync]]
If anything is confusing, please post back so we can help you further and make that article a little more clear if need be :-)

• Updating the camera's clock with "Image Capture" not working

In Mac OS X 10.4 I used the application "Image Capture" to synchronise the camera’s clock with the clock of my Mac.
Since updating to Mac OS X 10.5 this feature isn’t working anymore. I still get the option in the options panel for the camera, but the time isn’t updated.
The camera is correctly set up, as it still works with my Mac OS X 10.4 iBook.
Is this a problem with my Mac or is this a bug in Mac OS X 10.5?
Is there a way to fix this problem?

What camera? I have had the same problem with a Nikon D70. Nikon Transfer has the same feature, and I can't get it to work on Leopard either.

• "ADF Query panel with table" on a mobile device?

In an app made for a mobile device, I would like to make a simple screen or set of screens that has a similar features as the "ADF Query panel with table" you get when dropping the All Queriable Attributes on a normal form.
Can anyone point me to a tutorial or help file that can get me started? Or is this something needing to be built from scratch?

Thanks, but I've already gone through that tutorial and while it does cover the basics it doesn't go into any detail nor provide a 'next step' reference. It also is missing a couple of steps in the middle to make it work right (unless I missed something.)
It covers making a quick edit screen and a browse records screen but no search type functionality.
All of the tutorials I've gone through from Oracle so far seem to be at that same level. They provide a high level overview of what you can accomplish but there is no followup, next step or references.
I'm starting to feel like the whole process for learning ADF with JDeveloper is
1. Look at the shiny things you can make with the step by steps.
2. ....
3. Now your an expert (Profit)
Or, of course, pay thousands of dollars to take a class from Oracle.
I'm not against taking some training when needed, but since our team is still in the process of choosing a framework and IDE, I am looking for a bit more on the front end before I commit us.
Back on topic... I'm sure I can bang out a couple screens to make this work, but I'm not sure its worth the effort at this point. If I have to go that route I may as well knock out an Android app in Eclipse.

• How do i pair my macbook air with my iPad??

How do I pair my macbook air with my iPad???

What do you mean by "pair"? If you're asking about Bluetooth pairing, the only thing you could do if you paired them would be to share the iPad's internet connection. iOS doesn't have the BT profiles for file sharing or syncing.
If you're asking about something different, please provide some details.
Best of luck.

• How to change a setting in the Java Control Panel with command line

Hi,
I am trying to figure out how to change a setting in the Java Control Panel with command line or with a script. I want to enable "Use SSL 2.0 compatible ClientHello format"
I can't seem to find any documentation on how to change settings in the Java Control Panel via the command line
Edited by: 897133 on Nov 14, 2011 7:15 AM

OK figured it out. This is for the next person seeking the same solution.
When you click on the Java Control Panel (found in the Control panel) in any version of Windows, it first looks for a System Wide Java Configuration (found here: C:\Windows\Sun\Java\Deployment). At this point you must be wondering why you don't have this folder (C:\Windows\Sun\Java\Deployment) or why its empty. Well, for an enterprise environment, you have to create it and place something in it - it doesn't exist by default. So you'll need a script (I used Autoit) to create the directory structure and place the the two files into it. The two files are "deployment.properties" and "deployment.config".
Example: When you click on the Java Control Panel it first checks to see if this directory exists (C:\Windows\Sun\Java\Deployment) and then checks if there is a "deployment.config". If there is one it opens it and reads it. If it doesn't exist, Java creates user settings found here C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment on Windows 7.
__deployment.config__
It should look like this inside:
*#deployment.config*
*#Mon Nov 14 13:06:38 AST 2011*
*# The First line below specifies if this config is mandatory which is simple enough*
*# The second line just tells Java where to the properties of your Java Configuration*
*# NOTE: These java settings will be applied to each user file and will overwrite existing ones*
deployment.system.config.mandatory=True
deployment.system.config=file\:C\:/WINDOWS/Sun/Java/Deployment/deployment.properties
If you look in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment on Windows 7 for example you will find "deployment.properties". You can use this as your default example and add your settings to it.
How?
Easy. If you want to add *"Use SSL 2.0 compatible ClientHello format"*
Add this line:
deployment.security.SSLv2Hello=true
Maybe you want to disable Java update (which is a big problem for enterprises)
Add these lines:
deployment.javaws.autodownload=NEVER
deployment.javaws.autodownload.locked=
Below is a basic AutoIt script you could use (It compiles the files into the executable. When you compile the script the two Java files must be in the directory you specify in the FileInstall line, which can be anything you choose. It will also create your directory structure):
#NoTrayIcon
#RequireAdmin
#Region ;**** Directives created by AutoIt3Wrapper_GUI ****
#AutoIt3Wrapper_UseX64=n
#EndRegion ;**** Directives created by AutoIt3Wrapper_GUI ****
Func _JavaConfig()
$ConfigFile_1 = @TempDir & "\deployment.properties"
$ConfigFile_2 = @TempDir & "\deployment.config"
FileInstall ("D:\My Documents\Autoit\Java config\deployment.properties", $ConfigFile_1)
FileInstall ("D:\My Documents\Autoit\Java config\deployment.config", $ConfigFile_2)
FileCopy($ConfigFile_1, @WindowsDir & "\Sun\Java\Deployment\", 9)
FileCopy($ConfigFile_2, @WindowsDir & "\Sun\Java\Deployment\", 9)
Sleep(10000)
FileDelete(@TempDir & "\deployment.properties")
FileDelete(@TempDir & "\deployment.config")
EndFunc
_JavaConfig()
Now if you have SCUP and have setup Self Cert for your organization, you just need to create a SCUP update for JRE.

There are many apps in the App Store for transferring files between a computer and an iPhone using a cable, WiFi, or a cloud connection. Box and Dropbox cloud services are the easiest to use; I use Dropbox routinely to transfer business documents to our offices around the world.
Evernote is another widely used cloud service.
For local WiFi transfers there's Documents to Go, Airsharing, QuickOffice, and several dozen more. Documents to Go and QuickOffice also let you edit MS Word documents on the iPhone.

In case you did not find it, the following is a copy/paste of the Announcement on Premiere Elements 19/NVIDIA GeForce
that appears at the top of this forum.
Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA Video Card Driver Roll Back
If you are a Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card and you are experiencing
Premiere Elements 10 display and/or unexplained program behavior, then your first line of troubleshooting needs to be rolling
back the video card driver version instead of assuring that it is up to date.
Since October 2013 to the present, there have been a growing number of reports about display and unexplained workflow
glitches specific to the Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer has a NVIDIA GeForce video card. If this applies
to you, then the “user to user” remedy is to roll back the NVIDIA GeForce video card driver as far as is necessary to get rid of
the problems. The typical driver roll back has gone back as far as March – July 2013 in order to get a working Premiere
Elements 10. Neither NVIDIA nor Adobe has taken any corrective action in this regard to date, and none is expected moving forward.
Since October 2013, the following thread has tried to keep up with the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA reports
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1317675
Older NVIDIA GeForce drivers can be found

• Displaying custom drawn panels in a panel with FlowLayout vs GridLayout

I am having trouble to display my custom panels(on which I have drawn) in another panel with FlowLayout. When I use this layout only a small part of their top-left corner appears, when using the GridLayout they are displayed as should, all. Why is this? Is there any way around it?

Layout managers.
JPanel panel1 = new JPanel(new GridLayout());GridLayout divides the availabale space into equal cells and expands each child component to fill the cell.
JPanel panel1 = new JPanel(new FlowLayout());FlowLayout attempts to show each child component at its preferred size. The preferredSize is determined by the layout manager in the process of laying out the children. For a graphic component, ie, a component with no child components, the request for the components preferredSize will return the default size which is 10,10 for JPanel. Therefore you will need to either set the preferredSize for the gtaphic component or override the getPreferredSize method and return the desired Dimension. Another limitation of FlowLayout is that it attempts to lay its children out in–line.
GridBagLayout also respects the preferredSize of child components and offers more versatility.

Hi,
I am using a panel which contains about 300 images (small icons).
I covered this panel with a scroller, and when scrolling, it's very slow.
when there are less images (about 50), it scrolls smoothly.

Try using a list with itemrenderer for image. Scrolling performance will imporve as the list recycles its renderers.
