Pairing iphone 3G with bluetooth Plantronics voyager PLT 510
Hello! This is my problem: I have a bt. headset Plantronics voyager 510 which I want to use with my IPhone 3G. I make my headset discoverable, my phone recognize it, and with no code, I can use (talk). All time when bluetooth is "on" my IPhone keep searching devices, and is visible. Only option wich I have is to delete PLT 510 from phone memory. Can anyone tell me where I go wrong or what`s happening?
I had a similar issue with my Jawbone Prime. The iPhone wouldn't recognize it. I paired my Plantronics 520 without any problem -- it works fine. I tried the Jawbone again and it hooked right up! I can now use either headset.
Far-fetched, but if you could borrow another headset and give that a try, maybe the phone will cooperate with your Plantronics.

I'm just following up from the above prematurely archived threads (what is with this forum doing that before an issue is resolved!). I have the same issue and must add my name to the list of those who have reported it.
I have tried this by calling my own voicemail.
When I use the 510 to call myself from my VoIP line or Nokia E71, it works fine and I can hear every word I record.
When I call from the iPhone, the iPhone seems to be trying to employ some sort of 'echo cancellation' and cuts out / lowers volume to zero, any words that I speak below a certain acceptable volume. In other words, I have to shout for the iPhone to 'allow' the words through.
It seems there's always some sort of issue that means allegedly compatible hardware (it says so on the Plantronics website where iPhone is listed), needs to be trashed.
Before I buy a new multipoint headset, is there any way I can make the iPhone stop lowering the volume of the 510 like this, or stop the headset doing the same if it is the cause?Yes, I also have a Voyager 510 and I also have trouble with the volume (I have a iPhone 3G). The other person on the line has trouble hearing me. This seems to be worse since I upgraded the phone to the 2.2 software.
The Plantronics site claims that the 510 is compatible with the iPhone. I think that this headset worked better with earlier versions of the iPhone software, but I can't be totally sure. -

i was able to pair with my 700 TREO, but am unable to do so with the CENTRO (dropped the TREO in a cup of water - no bueno - and was forced to buy a new phone). I tried EVERYTHING and i mean EVERYTHING and can't seem to get pair these 2 together. i've spent way too much time, and thus am beseeching anyone out there to feel sorry for me and give me the direction i need to get this to work. I did the "nearby devices" selection under Trusted Devices. Didn't work. I tried turning both devices OFF and then turning them on and then pairing. Didn't work. HELP ME!

View Solution.Most BlueTooth devices have very specific instructions to place them into "Pairing Mode". Just turning it off/on will not do this.
Check your manual that came with the Plantronics for these instructions.

Two things that you need to verify first

Cellular calling doesn't yet work reliably.
Make sure you've followed the instructions in this support article. Note that both iCloud and FaceTime on the Mac must be signed in to the same Apple ID; those are two separate steps. Also note that the Mac and the phone must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Ethernet won't work. Trying to pair the phone to the Mac as a Bluetooth device won't work either.
If cellular calling still doesn't work, sign out of FaceTime and sign back in. You may have to do the same on the phone. The email address that you use as your Apple ID must be able to receive FaceTime calls. -

but IPHONE4 is CONNECTED with the JABRA BTE2No, they will not interfere.
I pair my phone with my car, multiple bluetooth headsets, bluetooth speakers, a Wahoo Blue SC speed and cadence sensor, and a Scochse bluetooth heart rate monitor regularly without any issues.
Granted I never have more then two at a time paired.
Having a fuelband will have not affect on the other devices as it uses a seperate profile. -

I am trying to link my iphone 3 via bluetooth to a plantronics voyager 520. Both items are charged, bluetooth turned on etc. My phone searches but cannot find the signal. Any ideas? Alan
here is an interesting thing: take the iphone and set lock screen to never. Now make an email with siri--be sure to activate her with call button. get to the body and get some text in there. then just stop talking. LOCK SCREEN APPEARS!!!!!! and of course you draft is gone.
There does seem to be a work around for some--maybe all these issues. Don't use the call button--use the buttons on the phone.
Siri seems to behave properly with scenerio above---sans call button. She does not go to lock. -
Pairing iphone 5 with plantronics M165
I have been using the Plantronics M165 earset with my iPhone 4 (OS 6.12), paired via bluetooth. I disconnected the M165 earset from iPhone 4 and I tried to connect it with my iPhone 5 (using the same procedure that I used when I was connecting it with iphone 4). But when I turn ON bluetooth from my iPhone 5 (OS 6.12), it does not discover the M165 earset. It keeps on searching....but it finds nothing. Though the two iphones (4 & 5) use the same OS, I cannot also pair my two iphones to each other via bluetooth. Now I cannot even pair M165 back with my iphone 4 I need help......
TxsI've got the same problem but I found the following solution, by pairing again the two dispos.
as far as the plantronics M165:
Turn on your device’s Bluetooth feature.
Turn the headset on.
Press and hold the call control button for about 5-6 seconds until the light on the headset starts flashing red-white. Release the button and set the headset aside.
On your cell phone, go to the Bluetooth menu and search for (or add) a device. The cell phone should find the headset. It will appear as "PLT_M155" or "PLT_M165" in your list of devices.
If prompted for a passkey, enter 0000 (four zeros). Note: Many phones do not prompt for a passkey.

Can't pair iPhone 5 with Mac mini or iPad
When I try to pair my iPhone 5 with my Mac mini (current model), I'm able to go through all the steps and the Mac shows the iPhone is connected for about 1-2 secs and then drops the connection. I'm trying to pair them so I can use the TokenLock app to automatically lock my Mac when I walk away from it.
I have the exact same issue when trying to tether my iPad to my iPhone via bluetooth to connect my iPad to the internet. A connection is established for only a couple seconds. I'm able to tether via wi-fi though.

Can't pair iPhone 6 via Bluetooth
I just got my iPhone 6 today. I tried to pair it both with my hands-free device and my Jam speaker. The phone doesn't find either device. Just spins and spins. The devices are charged, on and near the phone. I saw some solutions her and online, so I updated to iOs8.0.2 and even reset the settings. It doesn't seem like the same issue that some people are having with Bluetooth in their cars, because this won;t even pair it. Any suggestions?

Pairing iPhone 4 with Jabra BT3030
Does anyone else use a Jabra BT3030 that has been paired successfully to the iPhone 4? I was always able to do it with my previous Verizon phone (Samsung Omnia) but when I try to pair it to the new iPhone 4, I can't get to the screen where the passkey (0000) is entered. The phone recognizes the device and says it is not paired, but then it goes straight to connected status without letting me open the passkey screen. Once it's connected, the only option is "Forget this Device", (which I would rather not since I like it). Even though it shows connected, the phone and Jabra don't communicate. I've followed the steps shown on the Jabra website and the iPhone manual, but to no avail.

Thank you for providing the bluetooth accessory that you are trying to pair to your device. Below are the instructions on how to pair specifically to your iPhone. The security code can either be 0000 or 1234.
Step 1 - Enable Bluetooth functionality on the iPhone 4
From the Home screen, select Settings.
Select General
Select Bluetooth
Set Bluetooth to On
Step 2 - Put your fully charged Bluetooth headset into pairing mode.
Press and hold the answer/end button to turn on the headset
Your headset will automatically go into pairing mode when you turn on for the first time
Your Bluetooth accessory is now in pairing mode and ready to be paired with your handset
Manual Paring
Press and hold the answer/end button for 5 seconds until the keypad turns solid blue
Your Bluetooth accessory is now in pairing mode and ready to be paired with your handset
Step 3 - Pair the iPhone 4 with a Bluetooth Accessory
With Bluetooth power on, from the Home screen, select Settings.
Select General
Select Bluetooth
Place accessory in pairing mode. See accessory pairing instructions
Choose the accessory device on iPhone, and enter its passkey or PIN number, normally 0000 or 1234 -
Can't pair iphone 5 with Toyota Camry 2011
Hi, I am having trouble to pair the handsfree feature with my Toyota Camry 2011. I have no problem to pair the audio player but having trouble to pair with the phone. I can play the song through BT connecting my iphone 5, but i can't make phone calls with BT feature. Has anyone having the same issue?
I had this issue but it's now resolved. You can't just pair AUDIO PLAYER or BLUETOOTH - you need to go to Bluetooth set up on the car (press AUX and then the set up button - first button on the bottom left). It will be at Audio Player set up - NOW you need to scroll using the right hand tuner (round nob on the right side) - and it will give you the option of pairing your PHONE. This will pair the phone, you can also have it pair phone and audio player.
I suggest removing the audio player pairing from your phone and car and starting fresh. Worked for me after days of trying to just pair the Audio (not the phone). Good Luck!
