Pairing iPhone5 bluetooth with 2013 Nissan Altima

The answer to pairing the newer version of iPhone is very simply.  First, iPhone technology does not like other paired phones on the bluetooth of some car models. In my case it was a 2013 Nissan Altima SL.  Well, remove all other instances of paired phones...for me it was a blackberry and I had just purchased an iPhone5.  I removed the Blackberry which I wouldn't use anyway and it literally took me 15 seconds to pair the new iPhone. It was that simple.  I did read some of the blogs and it didn't look good to finding an answer to my dilemma.  Hope it helps.

You can select the Nissan vehicle on the Nissan website, and it will show you a list of compatible devices.  go to this link: http://www.nissanusa.com/bluetooth.  I wish I would have seen this before I purchased my 2013 Frontier last week.  I can connect by Bluetooth to make/receive calls, stream music and stream the Google Points of Interest, but I am unable to send/receive text with my iPhone 5. I've contacted Nissan regarding the issue, and their response basically repeated my complaint... Something to the affect, "Yes, your device miight pai with the vehicle, but you might not have complete functionality".  If you use the Nissan webpage to find compatible devices, be sure to click on your device to see the details of it.  It will show you which functions are supported.  For my Frontier, it showed that evey function was supported, with the exception of texting.  Would have been nice to know before I spents and extra $2800 on the luxury package.  I do not know if the reason its not compatible is on Apple's end or on Nissan's, but it sure would be nice to use all of the features i purchased.
As I said, I am using an iPhone 5, with the latest updated installed.  Maybe a future upate will resolve the issue?

  • IOS7 Bluetooth No Longer Works in 2013 Nissan Altima

I am experiencing issues with my 2013 Nissan Altima 3.5SL and the IOS 7upgrade on my iphone5. I am no longer able to properly sync my phone to the bluetooth in the car.  The music doesn't always play with bluetooth connection, voice recognition hardly works to make calls and the feature to read incoming new text messages via car bluetooth no longer works AT ALL!  All of these features worked fine with the previous IOS6 version.
I have tried several ways to try to fix this, complete reboot of iphone, delete and re connect the iphone from bluetooth (forget this device); also the 'show notifications' tab under the bluetooth options on the phone is turned on.  Nothing has helped.
This is extremely disappointing and would like to use these features of my car again. Has anyone else experienced these issues and/or found a fix?
Apple, please FIX and provide us with an update!

Problems with Bluetooth connections are generally traced back to the vehicle. If you search here in the forum you will find a number of posts with issues connecting with Honda vehicles. Try removing the phone from the vehicle's list of Bluetooth devices. Then try removing the vehicle from the iPhone's list of Bluetooth devices. Then place both devices back in discovery/pairing mode and try to connect them. You may need to take the device to the dealer to check for software updates.
Next, I understand it used to connect, however software updates for the iPhone will load the latest Bluetooth stack into the phone and vehicles do not always get updated as often. Personal Hotspot is, in fact, the only way to pair your phone & iPad by Bluetooth. File transfer, by Bluetooth, has never been supported on any iPhone.

  • How do I avoid having to pair my bluetooth with iPhone 4 every time I use it?

How do I avoid having to pair my bluetooth with iPhone 4 every time I use it?

I think I didn't make myself clear. My bluetooth device is paired. If I turn the device OFF while keeping it ON in the iPhone 4, and later on come back and put the device ON, the iPhone doesn't find it. The solution is to turn it OFF in both the bluetooth device and the iPhone and start again, which was not the case with my previous iPhone 3 and is a real pain to have to do this each time... Any one familiar with this? Thanks in advance.

  • Bluetooth interface problems: Nissan Altima vs. My Address Book

I have a 2009 Nissan Altima w/the connection package, and I attempted to integrate my Blackberry 8830's contact list w/the car's phonebook.
So far, I've been able to transfer my address book to the vehicle's database (under Options>Bluetooth>Bluetooth Handsfree>Transfer Address Book), but I am not able to utilize any of the data that has been stored there.  I still have to input my contacts manually in my Altima, using voice recognition.  Any help?

From what I hear, Motorola is not releasing the commands to make this work. They are charging an upfront fee and a per user licensing fees for the AT command set.
Also, people are recommending BluePhoneElite to handle these functions. I do NOT recommend purchasing that program for the RAZR V3. Parts of it work, others do not. For ex. every time you sen an SMS message, you get an error. Sometimes the message gets ou, sometimes not. They have a trial version to try, if you want to try it.
Also, don't bother asking Apple about this. They are getting more and more arrogant lately towards their loyal customers like us. You can ask them questions until you're blue in the face: Their response: Silence!

  • IPhone5 Bluetooth paired still searching

My iphone 5 has been paired via Bluetooth with  my car. 2014 Subaru forester HD radio,

Continues searching for other devices. How do i stop the search  when
I have it on to use in the car?

Did you press the 'B' button on the Pill till the little light in the back was a bright white/blue?  Pressing that 'B' button on the front of the Pill sets it to discovery/pairing mode.  Your iPad will be able to spot the Pill within a few seconds once you go into Settings > Bluetooth. You'll see Beats Pill and you'll have to tap on it to pair it up with your device.

  • Pairing iPhone to Bluetooth on Nissan Altima Coup

Does anyone know how to pair the iPhone to the Nissan's bluetooth on the Altima coup? i'm sure it would be the same for all Nissan's... but i can't seem to find anything about it on Nissan's site... and i have no clue how to pair the iPhone to bluetooth...

Thank you so very much! You were so incredibly helpful. i have to say that this site has rarely let me down when i need a quick, to the point, answer for something... i really appreciate it, Ausmus-11.
i got the phone up and working with address book and all fairly easy with the link to the instruction guide. i had tried to get to that from the website earlier, but i kept getting a blank page. Having the link there was very beneficial.
    Thanks again.

  • Can't pair iPhone5 with iPad2 and Cookoo watch via bluetooth

    Hi All!
I can't pair iPhone5 with Cookoo watch via bluetooth.
Bluetooth is on. But iPhone5 can't discover any device.
I turned on bluetooth on my old iPad2 - the same story.
They are searching, but see nothing.
    May be somebody have experience?

    OK! I've found the disision!
    1. Press and hold the CONNECT button on your watch for 6 seconds to place it in pairing mode.
    2. Open the COOKOO App on your phone.
If you haven’t already downloaded the COOKOO app, you can find it on the App Store (for iPhone/iPad)
The COOKOO app will automatically search for nearby COOKOO devices and automatically connect with the closest device.
    3. When prompted, select the option to “Pair” with your COOKOO watch.
Once the pairing is complete, the COOKOO icon will remain solid to indicate that your watch is connected.
    Good luck!

  • Any ideas why iPhone 6 cannot connect to bluetooth in my new 2015 Nissan Altima.

Any ideas why iPhone 6 cannot connect to bluetooth in my new 2015 Nissan Altima.
    Thank you.

To be honest, if you do a search of the forum, you will find a number of posts with problems with the 2015 Nissan Altima. It appears that it cannot pair. This seems to be a problem with the vehicle itself and users have been contacting the manufacturer for updates to the vehicle's system in hopes of correcting this. I suggest you contact your dealer and ask if he has any info from Nissan. They will probably try to get rid of you by saying it is a phone problem, but as I said earlier, there are multiple posts here about issues with the Altima.
