Pairing problem with motorola v330: misdetected as another type of device

ok, this actually seems to be a problem with the phone, but I'm posting here anyway in case someone has any ideas.
My mini core duo recently arrived and one of the first things I did was to try to pair my bluetooth devices: apple keyboard and mouse, scala 500 headset, and the motorla v330. When I fire up the bluetooth setup assistant, go through setting up the keybpoard and mouse, and then try the phone. It sees the phone but it's listed as a keyboard (after choosing "any device" in the asssistant). Hmm, this never happened with the 12" powerbook.
Get out the powerbook (that has previously paired with this phone) and run the assistant, choosing "any device". Two things pop up one after another, the mini and the phone. This time the phone is listed as a computer.
Ok, this is getting really odd. I try again on the mini and this time it shows up as a computer. This time there were no other bluetooth devices powered on in the area.
So, it seems that if you start the pairing process with any other unpaired device that is discoverable, the phone assumes and remembers the type of device that the other device is. Even after powering the phone off and on.
btw, both machines are running 10.4.5
mini duo core and 12" powerbook 1GHz Mac OS X (10.4.5)

I just tried to pair it with a windows xp machine and it was detected as a phone.
I just tried again on the mini, and it's still showing up as a computer. So I started the assistant again, and this time chose "mobile phone" instead of "any device" and it showed up!
I swear it was showing "0 devices found" when I chose "mobile phone" before... anyway, finally, I have them paired, and the phone is available in isync. (I had previously paired up when it was showing up as a keyboard to see if it was in isync, but isync didn't see it)

PC Suite connectivity problem with Motorola Blueto...

My Nokia PC Suite is unable to found installed bluetooth hardware as usually my phone (Nokia E72) too. I'm using Motorola "Bluetooth 2.1+EDR USB Device", which comes with Lenovo S10-3C Netbook. I can pair my phone with my netbook normally and transfer files, connect bluetooth mouse, surf internet easily. in this combination is it possible to connect with PC Suite without inserting any external USB Bluetooth Adapter ? Please Help me to solve this problem.

Pairing problem with Docs to Go and Windows 7

First, I'm not sure this is the correct forum. I've setup a new Windows 7 laptop and installed Docuemnts to Go (latest version downloaded, no updates needed). An was able to pair with both my iPhone and my iPad. iTunes syncs fine (but that's using a USB cable). I entered folders and files for Docs to Go to sync (the same ones as on my old laptop running Windows XP). Then Docs to Go desktop couldn't find the iPhone and I needed to pair again. I have reinstalled the desktop application, double checked Bonjour, both laptop and iPhone are on the same WiFi. But, I can't pair the two devices to sync my folders and files. Dataviz hasn't been any help - followed all their instructions, e-mailed Tech Support and got a reply that said to do exactly what I told them I did!
Anyone have this problem? Anyone have a solution?
It seems to be a problem with one or the other (desktop application or iPhone app) not communicating via WiFi properly. I'm assuming that that's a Bonjour issue.

Adding To The LIst Of Problems With Internet Explolrer 11 And Another Browser

I've b1 of the EA6500 router and like the othe posts I can't use IE 11. The "solution" is to use either Chrome or Firefox but not my Chrome has stopped working. All I get now is the LInksys Blue background. When I first see the site it looks like it's trying but then gives me a blue page. I've included screen prints of what I see when I go to Linksys Smart Wi-Fi page and below that is the version number. I have deleted my browser history, cache, saved form data, etc. but the result is still the same. And it doesn't matter if I use the router IP address or the Smartsys Wi-Fi link.
So right now the only broweser that will let me do router administration is Firefox but something tells me it too will have problems eventually.
the problem I'm having isn't with the router, it is with the company. People have tried to blame Micrtosoft in these posts for the problem but it's not their problem. The real kicker is that these Smart Wi-Fi routers are not old. nor are they cheap. LInksys announced this line at CES 2012, then again in April, and the last one announced for thie "initial" line-up of new routers was the EA6500 (the EA6500 was anounced in June 2012).
I've been mostly happy with LInksys reouters but if this is the way they are going to conduct business, then maybe I need to make certain adjustments with the networking products we purchase.
To put it bluntly...this situation is unacceptable.

Believe it or not I stumbled across the solution to the problem and need to partially retract one of my previous statements. In a sense part of the responsibility does go to Microsoft because during one of their infamous "updates", the default version of Internet Explorer was changed to use the 64-bit version. I rarely used the Internet Explorer (64 bit) link in my Start Menu...I always used the "default" which apparently was the 32-bit version because there are plenty of companies that have not updated their software for 64-bit.
The article I came across is Problem With Internet Explorer? Maybe You Need Fewer Bits. The fix is simple and all it really takes is to right-click the icon for Internet Explorer and choose "Properties". When that comes up change the value in the "Target" field from "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe". Once you make the change save the change and then use that link to get to administer your browser. I tried it and it worked. I guess I missed the post from Linksys Support about that possibility.

Having problem with big pond email account downloading on all devices

Hi,
Have just bought the Mac Air and am having enormous problems with emails downloading on all devices (ipad, iphone and Mac). If it downloads on one it does not download on another. I have a Telstra bigpond.net.au account. I do not want to change net.au account since I have had it since the dawn of time!
What is the most effective solution? Apple suggest using gmail as a conduit but does this work. They say it may work but do not guarantee success.

With multiple computers, POP is a royal pain. Back in the days when I had to use POP mail, my solution was to access my POP accounts only from work due to the reason you describe. Basically POP works like this: mail goes into your POP account, you access the account and download the mail onto your computer, the mail that's downloaded is deleted from the mail server. When we were using just one computer that was fine but not now.
The idea of using gmail should work. Once you are in the gmail setup window choose the Accounts tab and read the help screen under Learn More about Check mail from other accounts (using POP3) This will have gmail access your bigpond email account and move it to gmail which can be set up as IMAP so all your devices can access it 'properly'. I had this working perfectly with my work email until we finally got the go-ahead to upgrade our mail server and started using IMAP.

Will there be a problem with connection if there are two apple tv devices connected the same time on two seperate tv's

my dad has a apple tv device where he watches films from his ipad that is then displayed onto his tv and i was wondering if i buy one for my tv, will there be a problem with the connection and there could be complications?

You can run several AppleTVs in a house concurrently, at least 5, but this requires a reasonable network set up if it is to handle all local traffic concurrently, especially if using other devices to Airplay as it seems your dad is doing now.
Usually works but the local network will be the issue if any, assuming internet connection rates are good.

Anyone else having problems with Motorola Droid?

Hi I have the crappy motorola droid that freezes and forcecloses everything possible. Takes forever to start up and randomly shuts itself off. Anyone else have this problem? I've only had it maybe 6 months and have done nothing to it to cause these issues. My husband has the Droid 2 which is even worse! When I went into a Verizon store I was told that it is because they released it on the whim not realizing it would have all these issues and the only thing I can do is to upgrade to a better more recent phone? I'm confused as to a. why do I have to buy a new phone just because they released a crappy phone? and b. The upgrade is $300+ for a "more suitable/reliable" phone (obviously with signing a new 2 yr contract). Also I want to make sure I am not the only one paying $220 for 2 lines with 1400 minutes? (includes the $29.99 fee for both lines & also $6.99 for insurance).... Does this sound right?

First, I am going to refrain from two very popular forum habits:
1. complaining about my phone
(it is an incredible piece of technology with some very specific issues, looking for answers, please :~)
2. bashing my carrier (it's pointless - I am asking for help here; don't want to bite the hand that feeds me)
That said:
I live in Berlin, Germany / my D2G is an unlocked, US model from VZW
My carrier here is O2, a giant German carrier, comparable with VZW
(iphone users are usually O2 customers here, for example)
My family plan in the US still lists my US number; I can go home to NY, switch sim cards back to the VZW network at the airport and use my phone on VZW right away. This costs my family only $10 a month, and adds another incentive to visiting home at a totally great price.
I pay 30 € per month for my own contract here with O2, including flat-rate calling and a great data plan. Sending SMS costs 7 - 13 cents apiece. Again, very satisfied with the ability to use this phone globally as the name implies.
My issue:
Since updating to Gingerbread IN GERMANY back in November or so, my D2G started going berzerk, with many of the same issues described in the post from mmendoza about his fiancee's D2G in this thread:

- not just sometimes, about 80-90% of the time! When using any/all apps or built in features, the picture onscreen will shiver and shake back and forth like I am holding my finger on the screen and wildly wiggling it about.... condensation on the screen? Oils from hands or face? with or w/o screen protector, issue remains the same - ghost party in my phone.

-related to the above issue, I think; random URLs will be googled! Emails selected in Gmail and archived/deleted at will by the phone as I watch, dumbfounded! Behold: the amazing Self-Sufficient Smart-Phone! It's ALIVE!! aaaarghhhh!

Also: keyboard on the touchscreen - the letter a won't work: each time, 'sa' comes out, when I mean to type 'a' - weird.
Many things I've tried - factory reset, you ask? yes, and *please* don't ask that one again, if possible! Issue remained the same after a brief period (maybe 3 hours) of normal functioning - ghost is back in the kitchen for good.
Battery has been in and out of my phone more times to count -to no avail- as above, issues always return in short order.
Wiping the screen clean to remove any residues? - also doesn't help matters, just makes me look like a frustrated and OCD-about my smart-phone hipster in the subway and other public places where I like to, you know, use my phone's bazillion features, sometimes.
So Motorola's take on the issue: bc this has all been happening with the phone SINCE UPDATING TO GINGERBREAD IN GERMANY - 'the "German" Gingerbread update is of course the update for the "German" model of the D2G, therefore the wrong one for your phone, young grasshopper. Please send your phone back to your family in the states, we will send them a shipping label, they will send the phone to us, we will flash the drive, and update you to Gingerbread here, send the phone back to your family, who will then send it back to you and your problems will be solved, but please, act fast before your warranty runs out on March 21st, 2012.'
Ok, so that is plausible, kind of ~ I buy a phone to use in the meantime, for 15 €, to make calls only.... emotionally preparing myself for this long period without my awesome phone... and I take the sim card out of my D2G, and put it in the interim cell phone.... and the D2G has a rest for a couple of days.
Then, before sending it off, one last try with the German sim card in the D2G - like magic all of the symptoms are gone, and the phone has returned to full, unproblematic functionality. Which is great, but does nothing to explain the hardship of the last 3 months... I don't know... that was this morning, tomorrow is another day, maybe the ghosts will return.
My question for VZW: you guys know that several people have had this issue with the D2G - the forums don't lie, guys... I am wondering if it can really be attributed to the software update 'intended for the German model of Motorola's D2G. People in the States have had this issue as well. Should I send it to motorola as instructed and let them fumble with it before my warranty expires next month? Is there another fix?
I know I can just flash the drive, download and install the appropriate Gingerbread update to my phone MYSELF with a USB cable and a computer connected to the world wide web. So what is the point of giving it to Motorola to perform such a simple fix? If they are aware of this issue with their D2G phone, as I am sure they must be, have they owned up to it with other users of the D2G who are VZW customers? What is my best chance at solving the riddle of these issues in the coming weeks? help? please... bitteschön?

In Australia-problem with Motorola z6c

Hello, I'm in Australia now and my Motorola z6c world edition won't connect to any of the networks. I have a verizon vodafone SIM that I've used throughout Europe and in China without a problem (China was the most recent, in March of 2010). I'd like for my phone to connect through the Verizon SIM so I can have connectivity with my U.S. number. Any thoughts?

Problems with FMS accessing files on another server

Hi Guys
Im currently working on a small project with streaming video on demand and using FMS 4.0 (and a complete noob in FMS).
The video’s is located on another server than the FMS. But I have mapped the server to a drive on my FMS server,
\\192.168.1.10\data\media\mov\ => R:
And in the fms.ini file change vod_dir = R:\
The FMS service is logging on as Administrator, but I still can’t play the videos.
If I change vod_dir to a local folder ( c:\data\media\mov\ ) on my FMS server it play the movie fine, any idea why this doesn’t work?
FYI: I'm using rtmp and both servers is running win2008 R2
Any input is greatly appreciated

I ran the test on my two laptops (xp and win 7, instead of the win 2008 servers ), with lesser restrictions.
When I used the UNC path in the fms.ini it worked fine, but not when I used the mapped drive.
This proves it s security setting on my servers, that’s coursing the problem.

Microsoft Bluetooth NoteBook Mouse 5000 pairing problem with Mac OS X

On day one which was last week Friday, Sept 25, my BT mouse was working perfectly fine, just until this morning and last night it stopped working.
It does detect the mouse, it establishes connection but then I get an error message " The pairing attempt was unsuccessful. Make sure your mouse is in range of this computer, turned on and "discoverable" When ready click Continue to try again"

I had the same problem. The cure is to boot off of the OSX DVD and when it attempts to find a mouse hold down the connect button on the bottom of the mouse. Keep holding it down until OSX recognizes the mouse. It may take a minute or two. After the mouse has been recognized you can exit before the installation requires software to be transferred. Then just select a normal reboot on the exit menu option.

Problems with switching from onetab to another

I'm having problems where tabs windows hang up and I can not transition from one to another!! Very annoying...happening more in the last week!

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Pairing problems with built-in bluetooth and Sanyo Katana

I am unable to pair my Sanyo Katana cell phone with my PowerBook G4 with a built-in Bluetooth adapter.
The powerbook can see the cell phone in the devices list, but it shows up as its hexidecimal device ID rather than the name I've given the phone. The status line in the window periodically says "updating 1 name" but the name never changes. I've waited for 10 minutes or so but it still never updates, just continues to search for devices. I've also tried changing the name of the phone and that doesn't help. If I continue to the next screen without the device name updated, the pairing fails immediately without the phone prompting me for a password.
The phone is set to discoverable.
I've paired other devices (apple mouse and keyboard) with the internal Bluetooth adapter, so I know it is functional.
I've read other postings on this forum stating that the Sanyo Katana has been paired with an external bluetooth adapter, but I don't see anything about the internal adapter.
Anyone have any ideas?

Hey, I hope people aren't getting annoyed by my compulsive posting, but I think this solution needs to be spread, it doesn't get enough publicity:
the issue is that with 10.5.1, a certain quicktime component that acts as a USB controller for the iSight camera is given an expiry time (i.e., the file is given a feature similar to "trial periods"). This file is then deleted, and iSight ceases to function. All that need be done is to replace the component, by downloading it here:

(disregard the version marking, it works for 10.5.2 in the very least)
Copy it to ~/System/Library/Quicktime, then reboot and it should work.

IPod touch pairing problem with jam plus speakers

Hi I'm able to pair two jam plus speakers together and appear on the touch, but when you play music it keeps pausing on the touch, reset them and repaired and this keeps happening, does anyone have any ideas?

Does it work when paired to another device?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Problem with info Object relocating to another dimension.

I created a cube Sales with dimension Customer and Organization. By mistake I assigned an info object to customer. Now, I have to relocate it to Organization. The cube is with data. The info Object does not contain any data. How to relocate it to Organization?

Hi,
You need to delete the data in the cube in order to reassign the object to the new dimension. Once you delete the data only then would you be able to reassign the object to the required dimension.
