PAL - NTSC which is the better way ?

Hi
In need of a NTSC DVD disk to US I wonder which way that gives best result:
From original PAL miniDV -> FCP -> QT-PAL.mov -> JES Deinterlacer (conversion from PAL to NTSC) -> iDVD NTSC project
or
PAL miniDV -> FCP -> QT-NTSC.mov -> iDVD NTSC project
Last suggestion will be quicker - but will it give a good result ?
alt. suggestions ??

  • Which is the better way to import videos into FCPX?

Hello to all. I have recently purchased an iPhone 5 and while importing videos, I could import them directly via the camera import of FCPX which was open at that time.
Later, when I tried to import a few stillshots, I found that I could not do it directly with FCPX importing into an event: reason being FCPX would not read the still photos. I learnt from the internet that one could import photos/videos from iPhone either through iPhoto or image capture. I tested out both of them and learnt that I could get my phoyos into FCPX via either of them.
My question is this: is it better for me to import videos into FCPX directly or to first save them on an external HD via image capture? Will there be any effect in the quality of the video in these two different methods of import?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Which is the best way to create a connection object

    hi,
Eventhough i am not new to java I just wanted to know that which is the best way for creating sql connection object.
Is it using the DriverManager.getConnection(..,..,..) or using a datasource and getting the connection.
Which is more efficient or Is there any other way to create sql connection which is even more better.
    thanks in advance.
    pradeepbhargav

AFAIK all connections, DataSource ones included are created by calling the DriverManager. A DataSource is a factory for Connection objects (from JavaDocs)
If you're talking about managing connections then it depends on the application. A DataSource is great for apps that can support many clients or are multi-threaded, but may require a JNDI implementation to get to it.
If however you have an single threaded app that hits the database in a serial fashion, then DataSource is probably an overkill.

Check that your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion/Mavericks.
To check the model number hold down the option/alt key, go to the Apple menu and select System Information.
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
    Your Mac needs:

    Table created.

I meant RECORDS instead of REGISTERS.Maybe that is where you are going wrong, records are for putting on turntables.

  • CSM Redundancy : FT or HSRP +FT .. Which is the better option?

    Hi,
I would like to know for redundancy between CSMs which is the better option FT or HSRP with FT.. and why ?

The CSM does not run HSRP.
So your only option is FT failover.

  • Which is the best way of deploying JSP (mod_ose or OSE) ?

I need to deploy some jsps that are using servlet api 2.2 and i would like to know which is the best way of deploying these jsps?
    Thanks
    RJC

Speaking of JServ Vs OSE, I have some related questions on it. I would appreciate if someone can answer:
1.For a stateful servlet (assuming that we are using Oracle JVM), Will it not call the init() method of the servlet each time for a client (because each client will have his own Oracle JVM)? If so, isn't that expensive because it needs to initialize the servlet again?
Again, for the same servlet, Will it not have a servlet context for each and every client? Isn't that expensive? ( A servlet context by definition maintains state information for all instances of a web application within any single JVM)
    2. If we have an application that has some portion of it which is stateless and some portion of it which is stateful, how do we make a choice JDK JVM vs Oracle JVM?
Can we (for the same application) use both the JDK JVM as well as Oracle JVM? If so, how does the JDK JVM talk with Oracle JVM?
    3. Since Oracle JVM is useful for stateful applications only, does it mean that we cannot use it for Stateless session beans? (In an application we might have stateless session beans, stateful session beans as well as entity beans) Should we be using JDK JVM or Oracle JVM?
    4. For Servlets too, we might have stateless servlets and stateful servlets within the same application. If so, can we use JDK JVM for stateless servlets and Oracle JVM for stateful servlets? If so, how does the JDK JVM talk with Oracle JVM?

  • Which is the correct way to filter/block traffic between vlans?

Hi all. My question is: Which is the correct way to filter/block traffic between vlans?
i have a more than 15 vlans. I want to block traffic between them except 2 vlans.
source vlan 3 deny destination vlan 4
    #access-list 100 deny ip 192.168.3.0 0.0.0.255 192.168.4.0 0.0.0.255
    and the oposite:
    #access-list 101 deny ip 192.168.4.0 0.0.0.255 192.168.3.0 0.0.0.255
I have to do this for all VLANs, ono by one. Is that right?
    Thanks.

There are a couple of ways to achieve that. I assume that you have a Layer3-Switch. There I would configure one ACL per vlan-interface and allow/deny the traffic as you want. Sadly, the Switches don't support object-groups yet, so you have to use the IP-networks here. Only allow/deny traffic based on networks or hosts. Don't even try to be very granular with permit/denys based on ports. Because the switch-ACLs are not statefull you'll run into problems for the return-traffic if you woulf do that. And the return-traffic of course has to be allowed also.
Another way: with the help of 802.1x you can deploy port-based ACLs for every user. That takes some time for planning, but is one of the most powerful solutions.
For more control you could remove the L3-interface from your L3-switch and move that to your router or firewall. These devices support stateful filtering and you can control your traffic much tighter tehn with ACLs on the switch.
Don't stop after you've improved your network! Improve the world by lending money to the working poor:

  • Filter or Restrict on? Which is the best way to put it?

    Hello Experts,
If there is a Characteristic/Key figure on a report in BEx, and I right click on it and find another data element say, 0FISPER it I EDIT. On right click on 0FISPER I a variable.
My question is this, do we way that the key figure is RESTRICTED ON 0FISPER
or, key figure is FILTERED by 0FISPER
When do we use Filter or Restrict on? Which is the best way to put it? How best is it read, please include the variable in your discussion.
    I will appreciate this clarification.
e.g. Company code EDIT shows Company codes ZPPTcomp: with nodes  8000, 9000
    Thanks.

    Hi Amanda,
    as per my understanding,
you are checking the structure field, you have selected edit then you are viewing a key figure and 0fiscper restricted by varaible. am I right?
if this is the case this is local selection and the key figure is restricted by fiscper variable means the restriction value user can enter in selection screen. if you select 0fiscper and select restrict there you can see single values, value range and you can also see varaible tab. by using varaible tab you can restrict to variable value.
hope this gives you some understanding.

  • Which is the better processor?

Hi, I've been looking at different cpu benchmarks but some are saying different things. Which is the better processor adobe premiere pro and after effects cs6? Intel core i5 3210M or AMD A8 4500M?

The best benchmark site for Premiere Pro is http://ppbm5.com/
If you are going to edit HiDef you need an i7 or for standard def video at least an i5
The AMD lacks some of the special firmware instructions that PPro uses, so will always be slower than Intel

now, there is very big StringBuffer sb,i want convert
it to String s,which is the better:
    s=sb.toString();
    s=new String(sb);
Thanks.this is the implementation advice for
    toString(StringBuffer)
This method can be coded so as to create a new String object
without allocating new memory to hold a copy of the character sequence. Instead, the string
can share the memory used by the string buffer. Any subsequent operation that alters the
content or capacity of the string buffer must then make a copy of the internal buffer at that
time. This strategy is effective for reducing the amount of memory allocated by a string
concatenation operation when it is implemented using a string buffer.
    so decide urself

  • What is the better way to open and close connection in bean

Hello, may i ask about the best way to open and close the connection?
At the first, the connection code is store in Conn class bean. The JSP page will call a method in Process bean to process the query and update of database. the Process bean is using th Conn to connect to database.
In my process bean, it have a method for each type of sql like select, insert, update, and delete for each tables. Each method will call the Conn to open and close the connection. The jsp page can simply call a method retrieve or update records.
However, when calling the processUpdate method, it is a method that update a group of tables base on the query result of another group of tables and calculation. If I calling the query method in the same bean file, it will open and close the connection many times (more than 1000 times). After open and close the connection several times, the connection to mySQL will be fail.
Currently, i include 2 method in Process that is only calling the Conn to open the connection and close connection. When calling the openConnection method, it will also set the boolean connected in the class to true and call Conn to open connection. When calling the closeConnection method, it will also set the boolean connected in the class to false and call Conn to close connection.
After that, i add some change to the query method which is when the connected is false, it will open the connection by calling the Conn and close the connection themself. If the connected is true, it will not call the Conn to open and close the connection because it already connected to the database.
Now, i when i calling the query method in jsp, it can open the connection and close the connection individually. When i call the processUpdate in the jsp, this method will calling the openConnection before calling the query and calling closeConnection at the end. It not only faster the process(less open and close), it also no cause the connect to mySQL fail error again. However, it also make the coding in the bean file more longer and complex.
Is there have any better solution?

Use connection pooling. This will put the connection management in the hands of the webserver, not your code. Check out this post:
