Pale or no print

Hello everyone,
Need help pls ! When I try to print a PDF file I either get no print or a very pale and unreadable page.
I have tried Accessibility -> custom color -> page= white and text = black but still no results.
Mac Lion, Adobe Reader 11.0.04, HP All In One printer.
Any help is appreciated.

I have no problem printing a Word document it just happens with PDF files.

I had the exact same issue!! Seriously p*ssed me off when I checked out my ITunes purchased items (via my computer) and noticed that most of the additional tracks listed on my IPhone playlist was listed there too. However, I never authorized any purchases!! (I have actually written Apple Support asking for a full refund of all tracks listed on my purchased list)
Be careful when you swipe your finger to the left/right on those "additional" tracks on your IPhone playlist... I'm pretty sure that the cloud symbol is an option to download or automatically buy those tracks.
Solution for the problem:
1 - go to your IPhone settings
2 - choose "iTunes & App Store"
3 - go to "Show All" & "Music"
4 - turn off "Music" by moving the bar to the left (it should be a white color once you turn it off)
Should solve your problem :~)

Pale or no print , pdf files

I posted this question about 4 months ago but did not get any help.
When printing pdf files I get very pale or no print at all. Can someone help me PLEASE ?
I have no problem printing Word documents, only PDF files.
Over the past months I've Googled the problem and have tried all I can but still no prints.
I'm using Mac OSX Maverick, Acrobat Reader vers. 11.0.06, HP printer.
I'd really appreciate your help.

Unfortunately yes, I get a very pale and unreadable print even if I do as you suggested.
I have also checked to make sure the colors are black on white background.
This issue is really creating me a lots of problems. Anytime I get a PDF document I have to
go back to the sender and ask them to send it again in doc format.
I'm desperate !

Photoshop CS2 in Mac Snow Leopard: faint, pale colours when printed

I used to use Photoshop CS on my old PPC eMac with OS 10.4.11 (Tiger), and printed succesfully on good quality glossy photo paper using an Epson Stylus Photo R340 printer. I have now upgraded to an Intel Mac mini with OS 10.8.3 (Mountain Lion). I am afraid I cannot afford to buy the latest version of Photoshop, so I have installed Parallels Desktop and, within it, Snow Leopard Server, so that I can run Photoshop CS2.
I have now got the correct driver for my printer and all the printer and paper profiles. Using exactly the same profile and other settings that I used to use with Photoshop CS on my old computer, when I printed a TIFF image, the results were a print with extremely pale, washed-out colours. When I used the 'Preview' feature of the printer software, the colours looked good, but when I printed they were hopeless.
I don't think it is the printer. If I set the Photoshop output to let the printer determine colours, I get quite good results. But when I switch to letting Photoshop determine colours, I get these impossibly pale colours. I have checked through all the preference settings of Photoshop CS2 and cannot find anything that might account for this misbehaviour. I should be most grateful for any help or advice.

Since posting the above, I have made a discovery. I looked up the system requirements of different versions of Photoshop. Here is the relevant part of Adobe's list:
This suggests that CS2 will not run in Snow Leopard (OS 10.6)! But it also suggests that CS will not run in Tiger (10.4), and I used CS succesfully for years in Tiger on my old PPC computer. So what does all this mean? Are these minimum requirements? In that case where can I find the upper limits? Is CS2 supposed to run properly in Snow Leopard?

Printing problem with JFame

We have an interesting problem regarding printing the JFrame. Our JFrame view is similar to some thing like this:

Once i click the "Printimg" button in the tool bar panel, i am executing this code:

This works OK and prints the JFrame fine ( on JVM 1.4.2_08 ) in most cases.
But Interesting problem is, one of our stff is using same JVM , same options from the print Prompt dialog, and same black and white Printer, but the print result is different. (I am talikng about the Print result only. the Frame it self is ok on his PC)
     1. He gets the grey pale reverselike unreadable print. For example The buttons's fore-ground colour is Black. But he gets it as White. Not only that, all black text prints as White.
     2. Looks like he gets Inverse coloured print which really light , hence data can't be read.
     3. All tool bar image icons (cutimg , copyimg , Printimg) are also printing very light.
     4. Though all components are printing in Light colours , the JTable does not. JTable's data is not at all printing except the first row data. the First rows data is pring in light colour. And rest of the rows data is missing.
We are not sure what is causing this.
Any help would be great.

After many hours of research - the problem is in WinNT, 2000 and XP the Display Properties/Settings/Color Quality setting cannot be 16-bit.
This is easy to reproduce and according to Sun has been reported about 6 times in different ways - see bug id: 4941225
Sun has stated it's fixed in J2SE (1.5) 5.0
The work around is to make the color quality 32-bit

I also have print to tape problems

When I try to print footage to tape, It only captures the audio.
I"m capturing onto my Sony HDR cam, on the DV setting.
I did suspect it might be that final cut pro is set for NSCT, and the camera is set for PAL ( want to print to PAL)
So I did change all the settings on Final cut to PAL, but still nothing.
I know I'm missing something, but I can't put my finger on it

I have upgraded my old system to the newest (new Mac Pro + lastest fcp)
As the fcp programe came from the USA, and I'm in Ireland, all the default settings was on NSTC.
So I went and changed them all to PAL.
Then when I tried to print to tape, and the problem occurred, I went back to the settings, and found that I Left 1 setting on NSTC. I then chaned it - that's why I thought it may be the source of my headache.
The footage was filmed in PAL, and I checked, captured in PAL aswell.
Even when I do a playback, with my camera (Sony HDR-FX1E) connected via firewire, it will only show the first frame of the sequence, and every frame I stop on..... audio plays 100% fine.

Using 1080i50 in a 720p30 sequence... Can I do this and then print PAL?

I just shot a music video, and my camera shoots a 1080i50. My editing suite is FCE 3.5.1, which is pretty good, apart from its limited sequence settings.
Since the maximum output I will need for the video is 720p, I wanted to try editing it directly at 720p, however the only sequence preset for that resolution is a 720p30. What happens if i put an i50 in a p30 sequence, and can I then print this back to tape in a PAL framerate? I imagine that I could export (Using Quicktime) at a 720p25 to file, but I am a little worried that I will be unable to print the movie back to tape in a format that PAL television will be able to broadcast, since it is FCE that prints to video.

Hi Tom,
no, I don't have a deck, and will be using the camera to print back to tape. Therefore I think you have answered my question. The only reason why I wanted to try the edit in 720 was to see if it would be a faster render for editing, and also allowing me a tiny about of leeway for basic motion in the edit.
But no worries, I shall work as per normal.

Print color result on mac very pale.

I have a set of macbook and a windows pc that i put side by side. The problem that im having is that im using both the device for printing purposes. both mac and pc are attached to a single laser printer. Im using xerox color printer. Ive tried to print the same file using both device. it turns out that both giving me a different results... on mac it turns out very pale. but on pc it turns out exactly the same as the monitor... i did not calibrate my pc.. but it turns out very nice.. my question is, how do i solve this matter? at first i thought it was a printer problem.. then i use epson inkjet printer.. and the result is very disapointing...on mac is totaly unecceptable.... what im saying is dat, not only on macbook, but i have emac and imac as well, and they are all giving me a headache on color result. i need to use both device as i am running a printing shop.. can someone give me any solution on this matter?

i did not use any color profile. i just check the "let printer manage color "
do i have to choose color profile if im using mac? cuz im used to print artwork with pc only.
Is there any other way instead of choosing color profile? like pc, i just set the paper size, printing preference and straight away press print.. it turns out pretty good.

Dull and pale printed photos

I've just started to use an Epson Stylus Photo R2000 printer.
But first trials are really disappointment.
Colors are looking so dull and pale and a little bit dark.
I use Epson Photo Paper Glossy and the appropriate profile in LR color management with perceptual rendering intent, and no print adjustment.
I installed the latest printer driver and I deactivated printer color management.
I would like to hear your advises for better and more vivid colors on my photos.

Try this - In Print Dialog Box ,under "More option>Color Management" choose "Color handling as printer manages colors" . After doing this match the
preview you see in print dialog box and the actual print. After you have choosed this option , your print will be same as the preview in the
print dialog box.
Make sure before doing this do upgrade and install your printer drivers so that PSE has the latest information of your printer profile.

Firefox makes pay pal labels print three times their size

All of a sudden when using FireFox my mailing labels from Pay Pal are printing out 5x their normal size. I deleted FireFox and reinstalled it but it didn't help. I know it's not my computer or printer as the labels are printing fine in Internet Explorer. This didn't happen until I allowed the latest version of FireFox on my computer. Now I'm sorry I did. I have wasted more paper and ink and still cannot print out my labels properly.

I'd still prefer to keep separate user accounts. I never had any issues like this before. The only time I started having a problem was when I was just trying to force empty the trash a few months ago. I came on here looking for a solution and someone posted a way to empty the trash using the terminal. Before then, I hadn't used the terminal for anything--it was just another app in my utilities folder. (None of this has anything to do with having separate user accounts. Plenty of people with kids make second and third user accounts on their laptops so that multiple people can use one laptop, having more than one user on a laptop is not very difficult.) But thank you, I'll try that out and see if it works!

PAL: Deploy changes on printer to targetsystems does not work

Hi folks.
I set up PAL (printing assistant landscape) and deployed the printers from central to target-systems. Adding-/Removing printers from the Target-group works fine (in case there arenu2019t any spools on device).
But in case I want to change the u201Cdestination hostu201D for example in trx spad, the changes wonu2019t be made on the target system after redeployment of the printer.
It only works when deleting and reading over PAL.
I was searching for notes and for information in the PAL-guideline. This use-case isnu2019t mentioned.
Does anybody of you guys have an idea how to deploy these changes to the target-server? Did I wrong configuration, does this work at your site or is this function missing in PAL?

Thanks for your reply. I'm familiar with these documents. There I haven't found information how or if redistributing of changes from source to target system should work.
The workaround to deploy changes is delete/add the printer from the target group. This canu2019t be the only solution??
help.sap.com "only" provides how to configure PAL and how work with PAL (Create/Delete).
So, the simple question is: If I make changes on a deployed printer in SPAD in the central system and then I distribute it over PAL... why the changes aren't set to target systems?

Could you please let me know what version of Acrobat are you using.
For Acrobat XI, you might choose 'Advanced' under Printer Properties and enable 'Print all Text as Black' option.
Refer the below mentioned KB doc link as well if that might help:

Pale Printing

Hello to all
With Adobe reader 8.1.2 on Windows XP SP2 and a good old Canon BJC-85 with black cartridge, I find it impossible to get a well contrasted and dark print. Always puts out a light grey print, sometimes impossible to read. My printer is OK with Word. Il looks like a problem in image printing but none of the options in the printer menu seem to work.
Thence, my pdf docs are useless unless I convert them to .doc which is pretty cumbersome.

Can I "print to tape" using PAL and Capture from that tape using NTSC?

I need to edit video from a video card in the PAL format somehow onto the FCE Timeline using NTSC.

This is not any where nearly as simple as it sounds. You need to standards convert the PAL material to NTSC. I'd recommend using Graeme Nattress' Standards Converter for this. Then you can edit in NTSC and record to NTSC tape.
Just to add, FCE does not accept standard definition material from a video card. It only handles AVCHD media from a video card. The only HD tape format it supports is HDV.
