Palette Swatch Selection Drops to Bottom

In Illustrator 14, when I select swatches in custom palettes in "list view", the swatch will drop to the bottom of the palette. This is especially annoying in long lists of swatches because you then have to scroll down to view the swatches below what you selected. I have tried to save palettes in ASE and AI formats but this doesn't work. The palettes that came with Illustrator are fine, my custom palettes are the ones giving me problems.
How can I fix palette selections from dropping to the bottom of the list?

Changing text in a selection drop down

Does anyone know how to change the text(not value) that is displayed in a single line selection drop down box from a javascript function.?

its ok, found the answer.
simply place an id in the option tag and refer to the innerText.
ie
<select name="companyMenu" size="1" onchange=whatever(this.form);>
<option id="commonText" value="">Want to change this text</option>
and for the function
function whatever(f) {
commonText.innerText = "happy";
which replaces "Want to change this text" with "happy"

New Swatch Selection

How do I import a fabric swatch to add to my swatch selection. I want to change the fabric on an ottoman.

Go to "Edit Menu>Preset Manager>Color Swatches" and choose "LOAD" . Navigate to the color swatches file . The color swatches will get loaded in PSE . Please note that if you are using PSE 11 there will be a "ADD" button and not a "LOAD" button. To permanently save the swatches , so that you can access it to it even after a relaunch , choose "Save swatches" and save it in the user preset folder location.

Naren.In your action you need to call getParameterValues, which (if everything goes according to plan) will give you a String array of the values that were selected.

No, this is no standard JHeadstart functionality.
You can built it manually in a generated page (ask JDeveloper forum for help if you don't know how to do this), and then use JHeadstart custom templates to keep your page generatable.

To develop cascading select drop down box from web service

Hi,
I have two select drop downs one is "STATE" and other is "CITY". I am fetching the values for state drop down from a web service method "return"(*a list is returned from that method*) . Now i have a method in a webservice which accepts a string type argument(state) which returns the cities corresponding to that state. I made another drop down from "return"( list is returned from that method) of this second method which gives me city.
Now what i want to do is on selecting a state the webservice method should get executed passing "selected state" as a parameter to my web service function and that return will populate my second drop down list.
Can partial trigger help me in this?
If partial trigger is helpful,how will i pass an argument to my second method which is returning me cities?

Is there some other way to do it?

Multi-Select (drop down list) data not saving upon save/email

I have created a drop down list and modified it to allow multiple selection, i.e.
form1.BusinessAreaTable[1].Row1[4].ERP::ready:form - (JavaScript, client)
this.ui.choiceList.open= "multiSelect"; this.rawValue
= "-1"
However, when I go to save the form and/or email the list fields erase and the data / items I selected are gone.

Okay, I have the form now.
You are using script in the form Ready event to make a dropdown list mimic a listbox. This is totally unnecessary. I have changed the ERP to a multi-select listbox in the Object > Field palette and commented out the script.

Linking a library to a list - filtering data per selected drop down / check box item

Good day,
I am rather new to SharePoint and have run into a dilemma. Is it possible to link a library to a list, then create a parent-child relationship between the the department (list) to document (library)?
Example - I have a library that contains 100+ documents, the library is filtered using groups/subgroups.
IT
-> IT TX (30 docs)
-> IT WI (10 docs)
Biz Ops
-> Biz Ops WI (8 docs)
-> Biz Ops CA (5 docs)
In the list I created I have departments as a required field, and a dropdown tool that shows the 5 departments that contain items that need to be grouped together. (Biz Ops, IT, HR, Sales, and Compliance)
I have linked the library of documents to the form (list), using "Lookup (information already on this site)". All the documents in the library appear in the selection box within the list. However is it possible to first select a department which
then filters documents only tied to said department? So at the beginning of the list you choose the department you wish to browse the documents, then it filters out all documents not related to that department?
My apologies if this is long winded and confusing. Your help is most appreciative.

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to filter the corresponding documents from a Document Library when you selected a department in a List.
I recommend that you can follow the steps as below to implement it in your environment.
1. Create a new Web Part Page and add the Document Library and the List web part into it.
2. Click the List web part, click the current web part’s drop-down arrow, choose Connections, Send Row of Data To, and then choose the Document Library web part.
3. Click the Document Library web part, choose the “All Items” view from the Selected View, click the current web part’s drop-down arrow, choose Connections, Get Filter Values From,
and then choose the List web part.
4. Open the Configure Connection – Webpage Dialog, choose the “Department” column from the Provider Field Name drop-down list and choose the “Group” column from the Consumer Field
Name drop-down list.
5. Click Apply, OK button, save the Web Part Page and test it in your environment.

Is there a way to reduce the size of a palette without dragging from the bottom corner?

My work bought me a huge new Thunderbolt monitor yesterday, so I took advantage of the real estate and expanded my Layers palette to be very tall, and along with several other adjustments, saved this out as a custom workspace. Today though I am working only on a laptop offsite with no Thunderbolt and the bottom of the Layers palette is offscreen where I can't get to it. I know if I change workspaces to one of the Adobe presets it will give me a standard size Layers palette, but if possible I would like to work within my custom workspace and just change the height of the palette.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Did you save your workspace with a name of your choosing?
Look at the Workspace selector at the upper-right. You can instantly change overall layout by choosing different workspaces.
Save the one you have before you lose it (it's under the Window - Workspace menu), then try the different ones.
You could, for example, save two different workspaces, one for the large monitor and one for the little monitor.
For immediate relief, you could choose Essentials and start to customize again.

Default UIPicker in UIWebView for html select drop down- too large font.

Hi everyone,
The default picker that is used for selecting options from html select tag (drop down) in a UIWebView is cutting off our data.
I could use labels if it were not in a web view, but can't work out how to adjust the picker used in web view.
The only way I can think is the detect selection using js, overide the picker with a custom picker and then send selection back to page. Seems complicated so i'm trying to find out if there is an easier/better way?
The data is quite long so I do need to reduce font size. As there are quite a lot of options the drop down much more suitable to radio buttons for instance.
I have noted the quick connect framework but seems like an overkill and this is an app that is already live so I don't really want to add a new framework just for an update.
Any advice?

In the first example of real data that I have used, it is cut off in both orientations. Only one of the options by one character of so but this forces a '...' to be added in the middle and it to be cut off even more.
Ideally I would like to bring the font size down and make it two lines.

How to select drop down based on country selected in one field

Dear Experts,
I am facing a problem,
I have a table in webdynpro, where there are two columns namely Country and its Subtype.
here both the fields are drop down by key type.
when i am selecting Country field from drop down. I am getting its subtype correctly populated in other column.
But when i am selecting the country in next row, It is removing the subtype text of 1st row and giving its code.
Also Now In Column Subtype, It is Showing the dropdown related to the current selected country.

I guess the value for subtype is depending on the country value, which is fetch from the static value( Usually lead selected value). To avoid this we can either set the current row as lead selected row before populating subtype value or with the following code which will give the element value for the row which is selected rather than the lead selected row and then pass the value for fetching country type.

Seems to me your conditionals should look something like this:
<option value="Division"<cfif getData.council is "Division"> selected="selected"</cfif>>Division</option>
<option value="Facility"<cfif getData.council is "Facility"> selected="selected"</cfif>>Facility</option>
Your condition is the same for every option, and would likely never evaluate to true:
<cfif council IS "#getdata.council#"> selected</cfif>
getData.council will be "Division" or "Facility" or "District D" or ...
... but it would never be "council".

YAB - FM11 Find/Change using Selection drops selection after first find

Yet another bug in FM11?
If you are using a selection to limit the scope of a find/change, FM11 now drops the selection after the first find. Consequently, it can't find anything else that matches as there is no more selection and you have to re-select again. What a PITA!
In FM10 and earlier, FM would remember the selection and just keep searching until it reached the end of the selection.
Can anybody verify this user-hostile (what's a QC test script?) behaviour in the latest pached version of FM11?

I just changed modes in FM11 from strructured to unstructured. The problem does NOT occur in unstructured FM!
