Palettes are empty when I open files in CC

I have a serious problem with Illustrator CC. The layers and colours palettes are empty when I open files. I have had to revert to version CS6 which works fine.
MAcPro 1,1 2 x 3 GHz Dual Core Intel Xeon OS 10.7.5

It seems that something is seriously wrong. You may try the following (you may have tried/done some of them already) and see whether it helps (the following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file; 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences):
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.

Emacs auctex menus empty when not opening file from command line

I have got a problem with emacs/auctex.
In a running emacs editor, if I am opening a .tex file out of the editor, the menus "LaTeX", "Command" and "Math" are empty. That is, upon clicking on them, there is no dropdown list:

If, however, I open a .tex file from the console by invoking emacs
$ emacs file.tex
the menus show up the way they should.

Me too. Same kind of problem with Dired also: the menus are empty. I've even gone so far as to reinstall a fresh Archlinux, although not just for this purpose (I just had to try the Beta Fedora 12, but it crashed all over the place. It lasted about an hour on my machine). I know that if I had any business using Emacs I should know how to fix this, but I don't have a clue. It's been happening for a couple weeks now. And just to reiterate, this is a clean install, I haven't messed with it at all, I don't even have a custom .emacs to show. I haven't looked to see if this empty menu thing happens anywhere else or not--these are just the two things I use emacs for.
I don't see a bug report for this, but I don't feel I have the qualifications to submit a good bug report, so I'm hoping someone qualified will hear our crys for help. Forgive my ignorance, this is my first time posting on here.

Possible problem: You designed the invoice using Numbers '09 but you are now editing it in Numbers 3. The company name and address are in a page header or footer, something Numbers 3 does not have so it deletes it from the document.
Possible solution: Return to using Numbers '09. It should still be in the Applications forlder on your computer.
Another Possible Solution: Use a text box for your company name and address.
If you are trying to use Numbers 3, you might want to see if your invoice will print correctly (with or without the company name and address)

Yes. you should keep your media in iTunes, and indeed you should also keep a backup of your library as well. if you have the device set up for manual management then the content would remain on it when deleted from the library, but you would have no way to restore the device if there was a problem.

I have 2 versions of the same program. Only difference in Info.plist of that bundles is CFBundleVersion field. How can I make Finder to launch newer version, when user opens file assosiated with this application (user has both versions)

Finder beeps when I open files

All of a sudden today, the Finder beeps when I open files from one of my external Firewire drives. Only one drive is affected. It doesn't matter what kind of document it is. The files seem to open okay, but the Finder beeps, as if there is a problem, when I open any of them. I've tried dismounting and re-mounting the drive, but it makes no difference. I've also tried re-starting the Finder, but that didn't change anything either.

Could be Finder prefs.
Navigate to ~(yourhome)/library/preferences and trash these two files:
com.apple.finder.plist
com.apple.sidebarlists.plist
Then log out and back in again. Or restart.
(You will have to reset a few finder prefs the way you like them.)

My illustrator crash when I open files

I have a Illustrator 15.0.2.
And I can open the Illustrator itself, but always crash my Illustrator when I tried to open files, which I have created before.
It’s happen since last week.

Some letters are missing when I open a PDF in Firefox. Works fine in other browsers.

When I open a PDF using Firefox, some letters in words that are printed across the document are missing. I believe the creator of the document used a text box to add "Draft" on it. The D is missing. Other words I have found are "Copy Non-negotiable" and the C is missing. These same PDFs open fine in IE and Chrome. Have experienced it on V22-V25. Using Windows7

Starting in Firefox 19, PDF files will display by default in a built-in viewer. This viewer does not yet support all of the features of the Adobe viewer, and may also have some bugs. Other than changing viewers, as described in the following article, I'm not sure what to suggest.

ITunes thinks tracks are empty when they are not

Hi--
My problem is that when I try to burn imported (original) tracks to disk from iTunes, iTunes says "tracks are empty." iTunes recognizes and plays the tracks; can import them; but seems unable to recognize them when asked to burn to CD.
Any advice??

Yes, they are in a playlist--and they play back. I think the files were SDII or WAVs originally off Pro Tools.

Hi caesarome I have tried to set it up again by choosing Yahoo from the list of providers - but that just took me into a 'set up Yahoo email' page (sign in or create account) . I couldn't use my sky email address or password in doing that. I now have a new yahoo email account [email protected] that I don't want. On the ipad mail it just shows an empty inbox for my Yahoo email (although my sky email address is still there under settings>mail) - no sent, trash, drafts etc. I have also followed other advice that sets up the email again using 'other' provider but changes the host names under incoming and outgoing mail server to apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com and apple.smtp.mail.yahoo.com That hasn't worked either. The iphone (with exactly the same settings that I had on the ipad before messing around) works fine!

Photoshop Elements 8 crashes when saving/opening file

Since a day or two my PSE 8 crashes when i want to save or open a file.
It just closes without a crash reporter.
Is there anyone who can help me with this?

I am using a macbook pro running OS version 10.9. My version of Adobe Elements 8 came free with my purchase of a Wacom Bamboo drawing tablet.
I have the exact same problem.
- Creating a new blank image and saving it causes a crash. However, saving an existing image does not.
- Using the (File > Open), (File > Save) and (File > Save as) menu options causes a crash.
- Using the File > Save for web causes a crash as soon as I confirm.
So, I create a new blank image in Gimp with the dimensions that I want, export it as a .psd file, and open it by right clicking the blank .psd and selecting (Open with: Adobe Photoshop Elements 8). At this point, (File > Save) and (Command-S) save the image without causing crashes.
However, it's anoying that I have to use two programs to make one image. PSE 8 synergises well with my drawing tablet, but Gimp can create new images. It's really frustrating.
I think I reset my PSE preferences properly, but I'm not sure. Is there supposed to be a dialogue box confirming that my preferences have been reset? I'm not seeing one.
I'd really appreciate some help regarding this issue. Perhaps I should submit a ticket to Adobe support. Can I do that? I'm new here.

Then it might be worth attempting a restart of the iPhone, and then a reset, should that not resolve the issue.
