Pallet Wise Put Away

Hi Experts,
I am new to warehouse management, I have a scenario. Suppose we receipt material code xxx Qty 3300 Nos. One Pallet Qty 500 Nos. We can place one pallat in one bin only. Now we have to place this material in 7 pallets, 500 nos = 1 pallet in 6 bins and rest 300 nos in 7th bin.
Please help me how to configure in system / spro.

Hi
In the WM2 view in the material master in the palletization data you need to say that 500 of yopur base unit of measure i.e. EA = your Storage unit type
Example
500 EA S1
When you do a GR the syatem will calculate that 3300 = 5 X 600 and 1 X 300
Depending on yor put away strategy the system will then put away the pallets in to individual bins

User Exit for Put Away for multiple storage type

Hi All ,
we are using the exit EXIT_SAPML03T_002 for doing some capacity calculation and bin selection while doing a put away process in Ware house .
now i want to have two different type of storage types
say
A and B ,
if their are no empty bins in storage type A , then as per storage section search strategy the material should go in B storage type.
Both the storage type has next empty bin search strategy with user exit activated.
The difference between the two storage type is their individual capacity which is maintained in a custom table .
I am facing the problem that the exit is getting triggered only once .
ie. it will check for storage type A if the criteria is not met at a later stage while bin allocation , the system is not triggering the exit for B storage type .
do i need to do all validation and possibilities of not getting placed in storage type A in the exit . or does this exit will trigger for each storage type as per strategy if for any reason the stock is not placed in the previous storage type ?

As i tested for the 561 movement (initial upload) we need to do the put away manually.
So the system will not suggest Full qty to move to one Bulk and partial to different.
But for normal Goods receipt process the goods will be automatically placed to different storage type
based on the search strategy and in the Bulk structure we need to unchek the partial pallet allowed.
If anybody has difference pls revert

SMQ2 Error: Delivery has not yet been put away / picked (completely) in ECC

Hi All,
I am processing an Outbound Scenario..everything is fine until SMQ2 shows an error in ECC system. SMQ2 shows me the following error:
Delivery has not yet been put away / picked (completely)
Message no. VL609
My outbound delivery which was distributed to EWM system has overall picking status as blank (Not relevant for picking).
Our system is recently upgraded to EhP6, since then we are seeing this issue. Interestingly VL01NO (Delivery without reference to Order) works properly.
Other ECC-EWM integration settings are fine. Delivery Type and Item Category also look good.
I could not be able to find any OSS Note relevant to this situation.
Could you anyone help me.

Further what I see in this Outbound Scenario in EWM is when I am creating Outbound Delivery meant for EWM system with ref. to Sales Order, "Picking" tab shows EWM WHN but also shows Overall WM status as "Transfer Order Required" which is not correct.
If I remove Storage Location and re-enter then Over all WM status and Over all Picking status fields come as blank. But after all EWM processing, SMQ2 queue (FM: BAPI_OUTB_DELIVERY_CONFIRM_DEC) fails with error
Delivery has not yet been put away / picked (completely)
Message no. VL609.
Any thoughts?

I have a Batch program that is calling VL02n for Delievry Picking ,Pcking & PGI....
This batch program runs in Background
For Some Delivery it is giving this Error Message "Delivery has not yet been put away / picked (completely)"
...But When i run the same program in foreground delivery got Processed Well.
CAN U PLS HELP ME

After reading again through your messages, I understand that you are doing both PICK and PGI in single update BDC call to VL02N.
This is NOT correct way to do this, as this does not ensure that PICK values are committed first and then only PGI is attempted. We did face similar problems and have solved it by separating PICK and PGI in to two calls separated by COMMIT WORK AND WAIT.
I would suggest you to split your BDC into two calls. One which does only PICK and save and then followed by COMMIT WORK AND WAIT and then followed by another which does PGI and save. This should avoid the problem altogether.
Why it is not happening in foreground mode is it does not happen so quickly as in background. Even a split second can make a difference, that is why I would want you to split up both PICK and PGI update in two separate CALL TRANSACTION VL02N
I am not sure if it would help to know where the "Delivery has not yet been put away / picked (completely)" message is raised, as it is raised withing SAPs PGI routines, and it is mandatory that ONLY picked values are used for PGI.
I can only say that the message is given under id VL and no 609, it should be embedded somewhere in the PGI call, why don't you try to PGI without picking and put a watchpoint SY-MSGNO = 609

Backup Device not being "put away" properly.

I use a WD 1TB hard drive for my time machine backups. It's designed to sleep with and wake up with my mac. Now, whenever, I close the lid of my mac without ejecting the time machine drive, I always get an error message that "Data in the disk might be corrupted as the disk was not put away properly". What should I do to ensure that this message does not appear?
In Windows, I used to disable "Write Behind Cache" for that disk. Is there something like that here? I'm new to mac. Please help.

I would suggest you unmount the disk (drag it to the trash - no it won't be deleted!) before closing the lid.

Call Apple with the Serial and they will send you the ones that came with the Mac. Or search the Net.

Trigger on RCV_SHIPMENT_HEADERS while Receipt Updation in Put Away Report

I am working on PUT Away Label Report :
The process is follows:
When receipt is saved , a trigger will fire on RCV_SHIPMENT_HEADERS and in trigger a package will be called which in turn will submit the report for the receipt that is newly created.
The problem here is trigger is working fine when new receipt is created,But when receipt is updated using ADD to receipt option or In case of Internal sales order.The trigger is not firing as trigger is fired for every new insertion.
I am not able to find any column to know that receipt is updated and to track the quantity that is receipted recently . Since RCV_SHIPMENT_LINES table will have the track of the Total receipted quantity till date.
I am attaching the script of Trigger i am using for insertion.Please suggest me how to approach in this scenario.

I hope, while creating the Billing document, you are getting the error and not during Delivery creation.
You have to check from the document flow, up to which activity you hvae completed.
If the status of the "WM Transfer order" is "Open", then you need tp confirm the Transfer order through LT12.
Then ensure that you have completed the PGI, before creating the Billing document.

How to overcome this error message, when posting Goods Issue document?
Instead of manually entering the qty in Picking, can it be automatically picked / put away?
Please advise the setting.

Through WM it can be configured and once you activate WM there are some other settings for your WM and through that you can putaway / pick the stock completely .But without WM it is not possible to putaway / pick the stock completely.But if WM is not activated then you need to enter the picked qty and then do PGI

Production order put away in WM

Is it possible to directly put-away a production receipt to a Bin? Meaning if i do a CO11N it will confirm to Storage type 100 and bin ABC directly without going through the interim Bin which is the storage type 902 and production order number?
I don't think its possible based on what I know but I want to confirm.
Does it have to go through the interim bin in 902?

Hi, this will work but I'm not convinced it would be the best solution as all materials would be placed into bin ABC and you would have to transfer everything out to the correct bin.
I think it would be better to flag the mvt for auto TO and amend the receiving storage type so that placement confirmation is not required. The defined search strategies and any capacity checks would then be utailised, along with the individual bin numbers from the MMR.

Con not assign TASK TYPE for Put away during PO receipt

Good morning everyone!
I spent a lot of time to setup WMS Task assigment rule with no result.
My goal is to make Task assigment for inbound tasks. Particulary put away after receipt.
Expected behavor: after receipt in receiving area system should assign task type. This can be checked via "Warehouse control board" form, "Task type" column.
Actual (current behavour): task is created and even can be seen via "Warehouse control board" form. But there's no task type. For Task assigment the only rule exists.
To be sure that it works with other tasks types I've checked on Move order. Works well.
NEED YOUR ADVISE

This case happened to me too in R12.
The system did not assign task type after receipt in the receiving area. Moreover, I cannot update status from "Pending" to "Queue" to the user via "Warehouse Control Board" form for these put away tasks. It always show the error message "Cannot update putaway task." after press execute button. So How can I assign these task to specific user?

Put away not possible in inbound delivery

Hi,
Created a MT ZXX for STO with delivery . Inbound delivery gets created from SPED, however find that the field for 'put away' is disabled , even though it is selected for 'put away ' in 0VLP.
Request to inform the probable rwasons for the same . Is it due to that the MT in schedule line does not have the 'follow on' movement type option in OMJJ. I copied the ZXX from 601 , then how to get that option for 'follow on' movement.

Normally outbound delivery will be created in your case it is an inbound
delivery ..? correct me if am wrong..can you jst explain business process ..?
can you check item category in following path
Logistics execution - shipping - deliveries - define item category for deliveries
and check whether relevatn for putaway in enabled or not for item category.?

WM-QM interface - Put away the inspection sample

My question is: How can we automate the creation of a TR/TO from the sampling storage type to the final bin after entering a usage decision. The system creates a TR/TO to move the quality stock from storage type 902 to 917, but after UD the system doesn't create a TR/TO to move the stock from 917 to the final storage type/bin (say 001).
The below are the details and configs for the issue:
I have a materials that is flagged for inspection (say 100% sample).
I created the QM-WM interface control "Q" with storage type = 917, bin = "QUALITY" and sample handling = 1 using the following config menu path:
Logistics: Execution -> Warehouse Management -> Interfaces -> Define Quality Management -> Define Inspection Sample Control
I assigned the above interface control "Q" to my warehouse with operation = E and stock category = Q using the following config menue path:
Logistics Execution -> Warehouse Management -> Interfaces -> Define Quality Management -> Activate QM Interim Storage Type Search
When posting the GR (mvt = 101 and qty = 10 as an example), the system create a TR or a TO to move the stock from storage type 902 to 917 as Q (the entire 10 pieces are selected).
When entering a usage decision for the relevant inspection lot, the system creates a posting change notice (which I can automate to a TO) to remove the "Q" on the stock in storage type 917.
However, I need to move the quality sample (which is the entire 10 pc) from 917 to the final bin (in storage type 001). Strange is that the system doesn't propose any TR for that movement. Am I missing a config or that final TR/TO has to be created manually?

The PCN that was created from the approved UD contains 2 line items:
Line 1: move the stock with Q indicator from 917 to 922
Line 2: move the stock without the Q from 922 to 917
Eventually, this PCN will remove the Q indicator from the stock in 917 (which is correct as the UD was approved), but it will not propose a transfer of the stock to the final bin (depending on the setup of the material master and put away strategies).
So, unless I've missed something, the PCN doesn't help.

IS-R: Scenario to Create Delivery Order for Put Away? (MD)

For Put Away in merchandise distribution, how come a delivery order can be generated?
Since Put Away is to place the goods to shelf, there should not be a delivery order generated as follow-on document. However, in SPRO, we can configure at what point the delivery order is to be generated for Put Away e.g. After Adjustment (and then delivery order can be generated in WF30).
I would appreciate a scenario where a delivery order should be created for Put Away.
Any advise would be appreciated.

Merchandise Distribution Plan can be done by two method:-
Pull, Push
Pull is nothing but collective PO
Push method consist of putaway, cross docking, flow through..
Scenario for Put away
Head Office decide to procure Article 50 for store 1, 60 for store 2, 40 for store 3 by putaway method useing allocation WA01.
so whenever stores require merchandise, DC sends goods to stores from their stock...
In this scenario, store has to procure merchandise from DC as allocated by Head Office.

How to move/ nullify qty lying for put away ?

Hi
If there is a qty lying for putaway with out any refeerence TO can it still be moved / nullified ?
Other then database change.
The qty lying for put away has been created by a Z program doing a direct table update which has been recitified. But now the problem is to clean the damage that has been done.

With out the reference document we cannot nullify directly by normal way. You have to delete by table level only
