Palm 700P (Phone not working)

So I have a Palm 700p...The phone is not working. I tried using the conventional route - Dialling the number directly...nothing...it reads its English alphabets and not as digits to call. Press the phone icon on my phone's keyboard - it blinks for a second and the same screen shows up. Nothing related to the phone. I went to the contacts screen - click on the contact's phone - try to connect using the center (or ENTER) button - screen blinks but no phone calls. Even the green top button doesnot work...Green button, Phone icon button and all enter button all blink when i try to call. Incoming calls work fine and messages are going out ok. So there seems no other option, I called verizon CSR and both just wanted me to call Insurance company and get a new phone without referring me to TechSupport...I don't remember if my Verizon warranty is still on...And maybe I am eligible for a new phone from VZW...I will check on the same!!! In the meantime, Is there anything else I can do?

With multiple issues with different areas of your device acting up as you describe, the best thing would be to try a soft reset first. Remove the battery for 10 seconds or so, and put it back in. If it continues aftet that, a hard reset is in order. Make sure all your data is backed up first as this will delete all the data off of your device. To find out how to do all resets on all devices go to kb.palm.com and in the Solution ID window put the number 887 in and this article will show you how to do all types of resets. If Verizon does not help with your issue and the device is still not functioning properly, you can call Palm Smartphone support at 877-426-3777 and they will help you determine if the device is still under warranty or not and discuss all repair options with you.

    Without contract is not the same as unlocked. The update to iOS 7 relocked
    the iPhone to the wireless carrier to which it was originally locked. You must
    contact that wireless carrier to see if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
    If you used jailbreak or other hack to unlock the iPhone initially, the method
    used may prevent a legitimate unlock from succeeding and may render your
    iPhone unuseable.

    Ever since last ISO update phone not working right. Looses volume. Shuts off   Battery life went out to lunch. Texting slow. Any fix yet I see lots of issues. And tec support wants to charge as phone is off warranty. Was working finè before update.

    Hello i am nitin from india, i purchased a iphone5c because i heard that iphone comes with a great coustmer service, but this statment becomes totally wrong today, when i faced coustmer executive at service center of iphone then he said that i have to check it out and it may be a physical damage, ( how it is possible even i carried this phone with anti shock cover guard and its never fall down from my hand.) the simple thing i know that i want my phone replaced, otherwise it would be a great mistake of my life to purchase an iphone.

  • BT answer phone not working

    Hi first time post etc. My old landline phone/answer phone wasn't working well so bought new phone yesterday (BT Concero 1400) plugged it into the master socket and neither the machines answer phone or caller display work despite being set up as they should be.    BT helpline not overly helpful - I suspect they wil say third party equipment so no their fault but I've read on other posts that a poor quality line can lead to answer phones not working - any advice?

    Sorry to ask an obvious question, are you sure that the phone base unit is set so that the answering machine is turned on?
    If it on, it would show "00" on the LED display. If its off, it shows "--"
    If the base station is ringing, and the answering machine part of it is turned on, then it should answer the call.
    Have you tried the answer machine on another phone line?

  • Head phone not working...

    head phone not working after i update to yosemite , I tried with different headphones but it didn't work. I am able to control the volume with the head phone buttons.

    Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried.
    1. If your model has an audio-out (headphone) port, and a red light is coming from it, the internal switch is stuck in the position for digital output. You may be able to free it by inserting and removing a mini-stereo jack of the proper size. Inserting any kind of tool in the port may cause damage that won't be covered by your warranty.
    If there's no red light, the switch may still be stuck in the headphone position. Try to free it the same way.
    2. From the menu bar, select
     ▹ System Preferences ▹ Sound ▹ Output
    Check the settings. The internal speakers should be selected as the output device, the Mute box should not be checked, and the volume slider should be at least halfway to the right.
    3. Boot in safe mode. It will take much longer than usual. You don't have to log in; just reboot as usual when the login screen appears. Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode.
    4. Reset the NVRAM.
    5. Reset the SMC.
    6. Reinstall OS X after backing up all data as a precaution. You won't need your backup unless something goes wrong.
    7. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store.
    Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to bare metal from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
    *An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

  • The buttons on my palm centro will not work

    my palm centro has been acting up lately. all of the buttons will not work except the palm button sometimes. i can only use the touchscreen. i can send txt messages and calls only to the people in my contacts.i think it has something to do with my cousin installing a new app to my phone by taking his memory card from his palm centro and puttig it in to mine. i need help with this problem and it is really pissing me off.

  • Palm Pre screen not working

    I purchased my Palm Pre on July 4, 2009.  The phone was working today and when I got home I plugged it in to charge.  I came back an hour later and the screen would not activate.  I attempted to power off/on.  I removed the battery.  The screen doesn't come back on still.  I contacted a Sprint store, they referred me to a repair center that was closed.  Sprint customer service referred me to my insurance, but the phone wasn't damaged.  They gave me a 1-800 number, but a message stated I would be charged since the phone was past 90-days old.  How do I get warranty repair/replacement?

  • Phone not working for the 5th time

    I am so happy with my fios service.  Now for the 5th time our phone does not work.  We regularly cant recive calls, and sometimes cant call out.  Each time we call (with cell) they say nothing is wrong and will send a tech out days later and an hour before the tech is supposed to show up, it suddenly starts working again.  A week later it stops working, and we go through the same ordeal.  I wonder who they cut off, whent hey turn ours on, and who gets service when they cut ours off.  Its like they play musical chairs with our phone service.  Sometimes we get incomming calls, sometimes outgoing, but hardly ever both.  **bleep**?  Now waiting another 8 days for them to send someout out because right now we dont even have a ring tone.  Please just fix the problem, or stop charging us the $30 for the service.  What a sham.  Oh, and to top it all off,t his week, Verizon Wireless also assigned my wifes account/phone number to someone elses contract.  She has had the number for over 10 years, I just bought her a new iPhone (full price $900) and when we went the store a man by the name of Carlos told us to pound sand.  He had given the line to someone else and the only way he would fix it is if we returned the phone we bought from Verizon online, and bought a phone in his store!!!  Can you believe it.  Carlos would not give her line back unless she bought a phone in his store.

    Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases".     Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. The title of your post is the link.
