Palm Application Development for OLite?

What tools are being used to create applictions which will run on a Palm device and access Oracle Lite? I need to build an application which will support master-detail forms, scrolling, and Find/Search. I'm aware of CodeWarrior and the GNU tools, and Satellite Forms (which requires the $$$ version to access OLite). Anything else out there that you've had success with?
Thanks,
Bryan

Hi..  Welcome to the Palm forums.  This is more a hardware and software issues for Palm users not developers.  For developer info go to www.palm.com and at the very bottom of the page you will see a link for developers.  You should be able to find what you are looking for there.

    hi jack...
You can use ibm's wsdd(websphere device developer) as plugin to wsad(websphere application developer) for developing web applications which can be run on palm devices. It uses j9(ibm's implemention of jvm).

  • JSP application developed for PC does not work on IPAQ

    Hi all,
I have developed a database/web application using JSP, Apache Tomcat, MS Access. It works great on Windows PC. Now I want to make sure that it works on PDAs also.
I tried using an IPAQ which runs Win CE 3.0 but I get some errors while interacting with the database.
One of the webpages in the application has a form through which the user can submit a text message and upload a file. Following are the problems that I am facing:
    1. The 'UPLOAD' button through which the user can browse his local hard drive and select a file is invisible if I am browsing with an IPAQ. I am using multipart formdata (MultipartRequest.java provided by Oreilly) for submitting a message and uploading the file. What could be the problem?
    2. If I forget about the attachment file and just try to submit a text message (which works on PCs) , I get the error message: "IOEXception: submitted data is not multipart formdata".
I am very new to PDA application development, and any inputs will be very valuable.
    Thanks in advance.
    m_asu.

I was wondering if anybody can give me some pointers as to how can I make an application developed for PCs work on IPaqs.
    Thanks

  • Recommended machine for application development

Hi, I am new to the whole apple interface but I am looking into application development for the iphone or ipad? What is a recommended machine (macbook pro, mac mini, imac) would I need dual monitor, etc. in order to develop a moderate graphic application? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated? Thanks

Any late model Mac with at least 4GB of RAM will work.
I used a 2008 MacBook Air to develop a largish iPad app.
But I also had a 24" display.  While not required, a large display makes things much easier.
With that as a starting point, add as much RAM as you can afford.  That makes a huge difference when using Xcode/Instruments.

  • Android development for SAP

    Hello Everyone,
I'm keen on learning SAP mobile application development for which I started to look into the mobile area within SDN. I found that application can be developed for various platforms like iPhone, Android, Blackberry etc. I'm more keen on Android so started checking the Android links within the SAP Mobile area.
Now I'm little confused. It takes me to the Android website wherein I have the lots of information including how to develop android applications. I'm fine with that but I'm not sure how it is going to interact with SAP. I've worked on the Hello Android tutorial but I do not seem to see a path which will led me to the development of these application working within SAP.
Please if anyone can clear the picture so that I'm able to understand the whole scenario & work further towards my learning of the SAP mobile development.
    Your help would be appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Pro

    Hi Pro,
Welcome to the forum. When it comes to interacting with SAP from Android  (or any other mobile platform for that matter) you will need to look at one of 3 ways:
    1) Sybase Unwired Platform - A server that allows access to the back-end SAP through the exposition of certain functions. This also has the added advantage of generating code for you which automatically takes care of the back end connection as well as offline functionality (so in your case that code would be in JAVA). With the release of version 2.1 in the last few days - Android is fully supported as well.
    2) REST services - This is where you can write some code in the back-end (SAP System) which will allow you to consume resources using JSON or XML. This would be using a web service and can be quite effective for certain applications. Usually you would need some ABAP experience to do this as you would have to write the REST service to expose the service/data you wish to build on.
    3) SAP Gateway - this, like SUP, is a server that exposes services from the back end and allows you to consume them in a similar way to a REST service. Much data is available on the SAP website on this topic as well as a log of videos to show what it can do.
What kind of functionality are you hoping to achieve in your mobile app?
    Hope that helps,
    Brenton.

  • New to java: have to develop for palm, symbian and pocket pc

    Hello,
I am fairly new to Java. After a long time of searching for a technology which allows it to develop an application for Palm OS, Symbian OS and Pocket PC I am curious if one can do this with Java. I searched the Palm and Symbian homepages and found that those OSes can handle MIDlets. I could not found if they also can handle full Java-applications. For the Pocket PC I could not found a solution to run Java applications or MIDlets.
    My questions:
    - is it possible to run Java applications on Palm, Symbian an Pocket PC?
    - if yes, which tools are the best to use? (SUN One?)
    - is it possible to write "real" applications (for instance a spreadsheet) as MIDlet or can one use "real"-Java to develop applications for Palm/Symbian/Pocket PC?
Sorry if this questions sound a little stupid an thanks for every help/suggestion!
    Kind regards,
    Martijn

Normaly such devices only know MIDlets. This is becaus they do not have the power of a PC. In addition to that they are to different in hardware so an other API is to use.
I think it is notpossible to write a VM to do the same as a PC now.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Performance Tuning Certification for Application Developer

    Hi,
Can you please advise if there is any Oracle Performance Tuning certification for an Application Developer and Oracle 9i to 10G migration certification? If yes, can you please let me know its Oracle examination number?
I have already passed 1Z0-007 and 1Z0-147 in Oct 2008.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sandeep Kumar

... if there is any Oracle Performance Tuning certification for an Application Developer ...There is no performance tuning related certification for application developers. There is one for the DBA track.
Also -- to answer your question in the other thread:
So to clear this certification do I need to re-appear all the 3 exams as they were given in 2008 or just 1Z0-146 is enough.Having passed 1Z0-007 and 1Z0-147, if you pass 1Z0-046, you will gain the certification: Oracle Advanced PL/SQL Developer Certified Professional
