Palm Desktop 6.2 vs Older Operating Systems
I have a Treo 650 and I believe my operating system is Palm OS Garnet (?) v. 5.4.8.
Recently I tried to download some new apps and they don't want to install on my Treo. I have several questions.
1) Can I install Palm Desktop 6.2?
2) Will I still be able to use the applications I have now or will they be corrupted or eliminated?
3) Are there directions on how to install somewhere?

1. Sure you can, but if you're not running Vista or Win7 on your computer it makes no sense at all.
2. Some that depend on Quick Install will not work, and many older ones may not be able to sync (like Docs to Go). Palm Desktop (by Access of Japan) is a less-featured version of the original software.

You don't. Since you have an Intel Mac, buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store.

Only with a whole lot of effort and instability. As the new Minis have
hardware (HD4000, USB 3.0, etc.) that is totally unsupported in old OSes.
The only option would be to see if it would work by installing in a virtual machine

I-tunes is note letting me access i-tunes store without first dowloading the new version of i-tunes. The problem is that my older operating system won't work and is not allowing the newer i-tune versions to work. How can I just get use the old i-tunes?

Not sure if any of you above have managed to solve your problem or not but after coming across this same problem myself today as I am currently 'sofa bound' I decided to make it my mission to find a way around it.
Initially I did think, having ready what seemed like a million questions and people with the same problem, that the only way was to buy OS X 10.5 ... HOWEVER, no. In among all these threads I found a jewel - Download I Tunes 9.2.1 which gets rid of the download itunes 10 advert and allows you to then buy from itunes again :-) I am now one very happy lady.
I apologise to all those that dont have older versions of OS X that maybe wont support even this upgrade but certainly for those like me with just 4yr old lap tops at least it means it not longer means buying a new one.

I tried this method and erased my MC HD and restored my system, but the bad thing is once you install YOSEMITE it overrides your Recovery with yosemite and you lose Maverick. I called Apple support regarding this same issue. I have to take my Mac to apple to have it replaced with a new one that has maverick installed on it.
Yosemite is causing display glitches, wifi slow downs, dock disappears from one screen to the other or completely and cannot get it back. -

Put your search terms in the combined URL and search bar at the top of the browser (exactly the same as you do in most modern desktop browsers such as Chrome, Safari, Explorer). There is no separate search box, just use the box where you enter web addresses.
And no, you cannot downgrade. -
Have an iMac with Lion OS. Installed 3D Desktop Aquarium screensaver a couple of operating systems ago. When I "upgraded" to Snow Leopard the screen saver would no longer work so I (thought) uninstalled it. The fish are gone , but the sound is still there drowning out everything else. How can I get rid of this?

Older Operating system (Windows 98)
My wife bought me and IPOd (She really didn't understand to get one compatible with my computer/Operating system) Bless her heart. However ITunes CD requires Windows XP or later. What are my options in order to use this IPOD???? (1) Buy new computer (2) Updgreade Operating System or what. Also, I can load on my daughters newer operating system; but someone told me that once I begin with one computer I have to use that computer all the time (Is this true). Also, could I charge the IPOD on my computer with the Windows 98 Operating System and use her computer to load the songs on the IPOD.
Your best option, in my opinion, will be to upgrade your system to Windows XP, assuming that it will support XP properly. Though there are some applications that will work under Windows 98 to transfer tracks to an iPod, they're limited in what they can do (no support for the iTunes Music Store, for instance). You could use your daughter's computer to run iTunes, but it's probably going to be rather inconvenient. So if at all possible, upgrade your system to XP. You'll eventually have to do so anyway, since Microsoft no longer provides any sort of support for Windows 98 and it will be harder and harder to find software that will run on 98.

Way to "back install" older operating system on iPhone 3G
So I upgraded to iOS4 on my 3G, and it is waaaaaaayyyyy slow now.

BTW - Apple, wouldn't it be nice if you'd allow people to be able to back out of upgrades? This would solve the issue of people being stuck with poor functionality and broken OS releases, until you've had a chance to fix the issues that arise?
What if my phone was rendered useless by an OS update? Would I be left without a phone until you release a new OS version 2-3 months later? -
I loved the original older operating system that came with my I PAD. Accidently when I was downloading music from my lap top on I tunes, I tunes automatically upgraded my IPAD before downloading the music. I hate this new 7.04 it is horrible. I can not figure out how to clear the icons like with my older version, when I used to hold down the start button thing , I would see the icons, hold my finger down on one of them until an x appeared and then theyall got cleared. Now this does not work, they open the program instead. I hate this new one. Can I go back to the older one I had that I liked so much. Help
