Palm life drive circa 2005 and Universal keyboard

Hello all,
Hope you can help me. Is it possible that there is a Turkish driver for the universal keyboard.
The exisisting key board has a set number of alternative characters, but not enough for my needs.
of C and S cedilla, O and U umlaut and line above a letter G with a further G as normal.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

One alternative to the Tasks application is Outline Tracker which has knobs to open items with content text, and multiple projects, which should fill your need for multiple to-do lists.   It does not currently have priorities, though.

I heard the Life Drive will be discontinued? Is that true? I was at Staples when I was told this. Is a better version coming out or were there flaws in the Life Drive?

Does Palm realize the problems with the life drive.  I have always thought of the palm company as being very reliable but my palm life drive is not turning on though the light says its okay.  I would like some one to email me if possible what should I do with it.  Itdidn't make any noise.  It just wont turn oin.  The green light is showing me that it is charged but it still won;t turn on.  I need a fast answer please email me what I can do next.  Thank you.  I am new to the forum.
The LifeDrive was discontinued many years ago...  It was a great device, but suffered from the fragility of the 4gig Hard Drive inside it.
Repairs can be found at usedpdaparts.com or pdaparts.com.   Usedpdaparts.com offers a "LifeFlash" upgrade that removes the broken Hard Drive, and replaces it with a Compact Flash card slot that has a 4gig card inside it.  PalmOS is reloaded on it, and you end up with a reliable device!

I'm reading a lot of posts in a large number of places.  Many people indicating complete dissatisfaction with the Life Drive.  I've used my since my wife got it for me a few years ago at about $500.00.  Mine is completely DEAD.  Will not do anything, will not turn on.  Nothing.  I'm wondering, since there are a lot of post about this is there anyone who has gotten theirs repaired and if so where did they go to get it repaired.  I hate to throw away $500 but I'm wondering if it's worth it.  Many people has expressed complete disatisfaction with dealing with Palm.  Does anyone make a unit that is comparable to the Life Drive that I might look into?

  • E2 with Wi-Fi Card and universal keyboard ...can't make it work!

HELP! I am trying to get up and running with a previously unused E2 bought in the UK in 06. I wanted to begin using it as a journal/planner and email option on my travels. I was excited to read several places that the PalmOne Wi-Fi card would work with the E2 so I found one on internet and bought it. HOWEVER, the installation software doesn't list the E2 as being supported, nor Vista OS, which I have on my laptop. I've been all over Google looking for a solution for the set-up ... (is there one?)
I also bought a universal wireless keyboard (the folding type). It didn't have any documentation or installation CD. I thought it would have some sort of docking connection for the E2 but it doesn't. So I can't talk to the E2 with the keyboard. I admit I'm not the most savvy. Can anyone tell me how to put these components together, step by step, in a language I can understand? For instance there is an option to turn-off Bluetooth but no option to turn on Wi-Fi on my E2 prefs. I know I'm asking a lot.

Which version of Palm Desktop are you using?  If you have Vista, version 6.2.2 is recommended.  Which version of Vista do you have?  32bit or 64bit?
6.2.2 uses the Install Tool, and not Quick Install to transfer programs to your E2.

  • Life Drive and Vista

Is there any fix so that I can sync my Life Drive through Vista with programs that have regular updates?  Does anyone know if Palm plans to provide Vista friendly Life Drive manager?
I'm very frustrated at this point because this issue has limited the usefulness of my Life Drive for my professional life.  I need to get a new phone very soon and wonder if I shouldn't breakdown and get a Smartphone.  I like having a small regular phone for all my lives and the Life Drive for professional time.  Thoughts?
    Thank you for your assistance.

Hello horselady and welcome to the Palm forums.
Is there any fix so that I can sync my Life Drive through Vista with programs that have regular updates?
Palm Desktop 4.1.4e should work, for the most part, on Windows Vista.  You can install Palm Desktop 6.2 on a Vista computer and the LifeDrive will sync with it, however, ACCESS has removed some features that were previously available in the older Palm editions of Palm Desktop.  (Long story short, Palm no longer owns the rights to the Palm OS and the HotSync Manager.)
The latest Windows Vista information can be found here.
Does anyone know if Palm plans to provide Vista friendly Life Drive manager?
No, there will be no Vista compatible version of the Palm LifeDrive Manager application.  If you want to work with the files on the "LifeDrive" volume, you will need to put the LifeDrive in Drive Mode to access the files.

Can somebody tell me how to deploy the jdbc driver of MS SQL Server 2005 and 2008 on SDM.
According to the SAP instruction we should have 3 files(mssqlserver.jar,msbase.jar,msutil.jar) but in 2005 driver file we only have 1 file i.e sqljdbc.jar so how do i deploy it .
Secondly i cannot deploy it on visual administrator as well and when i am doing the File to jdbc scenarion i am getting this error
" Accessing database connection "jdbc.sqlserver://localhost:1433;DatabaseName=Employee failed DriverManagerException. Cannot establish connection to URL jdbc.sqlserver://localhost:1433;DatabaseName=Employee  SAPClassNotFoundException com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver".
can somebody please upload the screen shots on mediafire or any other site so that i will solve my problem.

    Hello,
    *OS: First of all: *
3 files (msbase.jar,mssqlserver.jar and msutility.jar )should be zipped to aii_af_jmsproviderlib.zip file only for UNIX OS.
For Windows OS only sqljdbc.jar file which in every version of JDBC driver should be zipped to aii_af_jmsproviderlib.zip.
You can deploy JDBC driver through SDM tool which mention in guide below:

  • Copy and Paste Keyboard Shortcut not working

My copy and paste (Command C) function is not working. Tried to resent in keyboard menu, but it didn't do anything. VERY FRUSTRATING as I use this function all day long in my job. Can somebody help please?

The 'input menu' would put a small flag on the main menu bar and allow
you to click there, and see Keyboard Viewer, and Character Palette. A
small keyboard will appear on the desktop and mirror all keys you use
on the real keyboard. Or not. When they don't work in the Viewer, you
can safely assume they don't work. (Or it is software, vs hardware.)
Someday, when you have time and perhaps some extra hardware, you
may consider making a backup clone of your computer contents on a
    large enough external hard disk drive to support bootable OS X clones;
and also large enough to have more than one partition there, for extras.
Then, do a completely new installation on a 'secure erased' hard disk drive.
And then update it. You could migrate previous user setting info, into the
new installation from an external drive's clone; or if you have extra discover
time, you may find a cure to the underlying problem's cause and use the
clone in the external hard disk drive as a backup. Maybe DiskWarrior?
The problem in the system may be due to at least one possible malady; a
corruption of system data, a bad block on the hard disk drive, or some other
matter that somehow became bigger than life when combined with another.
You may try the SafeBoot mode, repair disk permisions in Disk Utility, and
then try reinstalling the Mac OS X 10.5.8 Combo update file, on top of it all.
Then when it restarts, run SafeBoot again and re-repair disk permissions.
(But any actual hard disk drive issue may exist and remain unattended.)
Odd problems often are best attacked at a root level, after you have adequate
backup; a bootable clone on supported self-powered external hard disk drive.
    Clone utilities such as SuperDuper and Carbon Copy Cloner are fine tools;
and CCC (bombich software) has evolved to be top-notch with site support.
Glad you were able to remap some keys; I found several links in a search on
how to do that, and had previously posted some URLs to help someone else
on another user forum that covered some angles of resolving keyboard issues.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Imac intel circa 2005 will not boot

I was woundering if anybody might point me in the direction of resolution to this problem. My intel circa 2005 iMac will not boot - OS Tiger - get a blue screen. Funny thing is that when I reinstall OS the computer works alright for a day  or two then crashes when I open a programme such as iPhoto. I then reboot and get the blue screen of death again. I have done this several times. The reinstall works again only for a day or two then back to square one. I have clean installed reformated the hard drive etc all the resets etc. I have also run the hardware test extended and this said all was ok. Ran disk utility and seemed to write 'zero'  alright on the whole disk. My gut feeling is the hard drive is on the way out but the ability to write zeros to the whole disk has stopped me from replacing this. Has anybody experienced this before and found a fix without buying a new iMac?

  • My printer driver has changed and it is HORRIBLE

I have been using my HP 8500A all-in-one with a few years now with absolutely no problems.  Two days ago, I encountered a problem:  when I tried to specify certain pages of a document to print, I would get an error message.  However, if I selected to print the entire document, it would print.  I assumed that my driver needed to be updated, so I downloaded from the HP website.  WHAT A HORRIBLE MISTAKE THAT WAS.  My scan utility has changed completely, I still can only print when I select to print an entire document.  I cannot print from an Excel spreadsheet at all.  I tried uninstalling the driver and re-installing.  I DO NOT want to network this printer, but now each time I try to reinstall the driver, I can choose to connect via USB, but on the following pop-up, it does not give me the option to proceed.  It only gives me the option to go "back" or to "skip" connecting via USB.  What the heck is going on????????????????

Hi , Welcome to the HP Community!I hope you have a pleasant experience here. I'd like to help you with the driver/software issues you are experiencing with your HP Officejet Pro 8500A e-All-in-One printer and your Windows 8 machine. It sounds like your software may not be installed properly, in addition to the common issue of Windows 8.1 automatically installing drivers from Windows update. First, with the USB cable plugged in, we'll want to remove all instances of your printer in the device manager (this way when we plug the USB cable back in during the new install, it'll be seen as a new device).  Open up your Start Screen. Start typing "This PC", it will come up under search results. Right click on This PC and select Manage. Click on Device Manager on the left hand side. In the main part of the window, look in the following categories for any HP entries: Imaging Devices, Other Devices, Printers, and Universal Serial Bus Controllers. If you see your HP printer listed in any of these sections, right click and select Uninstall. Keep an eye out as well for anything that says Unknown Device, and let me know if you see this at all (these are also okay to uninstall). Once all HP entries have been removed, unplug your USB and leave it unplugged. Do not plug the USB back in until the software prompts you when we re-install. Next we'll want to remove the installed printers from your Devices and Printers folder. From your desktop, either swipe in from the right to open the charms bar, or press Win key + C on your keyboard.Select settings from the bar on the right.Select Control PanelUnder Hardware and Sound, Select Devices and PrintersRight click on each icon you see for your 8500A (even if there is only one) and select Remove Device, or Delete. Once that's done, lets do a cleanboot of your computer (this will turn off all non-essential programs at startup, so if there is another program running that's hindering the installation we can avoid it).How to perform a clean boot in Windows  Once the computer has restarted, try downloading the HP Printer Install Wizard to complete the installation for you. It will automatically detect your device, and install the appropriate software. Please respond to let me know if this resolves the issue.Good luck!

Unfortunately what you need is something that is designed for PowerPC Macs.  Stuff that is designed for Intel Macs will not work.  The PowerPC (PPC) Mac software is getting scarcer.    Macs in 2006 shifted to Intel CPUs.  Stuff that is designated Universal will work, and you can buy the retail 10.5 if you have no Mac OS 9 related software that needs to load.  If you partition your hard disk, or use an external Firewire hard drive partition just for booting into 10.4.11 or earlier, you can still use Classic for Mac OS 9.  My user tip here discusses your options:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2275
Don't dump your PowerPC Mac yet, Appleworks has no equivalent in the Intel Mac world once upgraded to Mac OS X 10.7 or later, and this tip covers Appleworks:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2522
So you are unfortunately stuck in the transition period, but if carefully reviewed can be done right if you ready all your documents for the transition when you can afford it.

There have been a few Palm wireless keyboards over the years.  Did you check this page to see if there is a drive that might work with the Treo Pro?  A Treo 750 driver might work.  I don't know what keyboard you have and I don't have a Treo Pro to test with.  I was able to get an iGo/ThinkOutside Bluetooth keyboard to work with my Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional Treo 750 without issue.

If you are referring to the Palm Universal Wireless Keyboard (this one), it uses two common AAA batteries.  It comes packaged with two batteries.  They last quite a long time, but they do need to be replaced after time.
