Palm m505 download device software

I have a palm m505 and have not used it for a while.  Now, I need to download a program and it requires a device software as it states that the hotsync is not making connections with the desktop computer.  I have a Windows Vista and I am not sure if it has anything to do with this problem.  Does anyone have the download software so I can test things out?  I have checked online on the palms website but it still rejected it.  Thanks!

  • Desktop Software won't download device updates?

    Hi,
I recently bought a BB Torch and would like to add more language supports via the Desktop Software (ver. 6). However, the installer won't go past the back up phase as the update window immediately closes upon entering the 'downloading device software' phase. I have more than 200MB remaining memory in my phone and the software is up to date. The desktop software won't apply changes to any other applications either.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

    Hi pokexpress,
Try performing a manual backup of your BlackBerry using the Backup feature in BlackBerry Desktop Manager first.  Then, when doing the upgrade, de-select the backup option.

  • Can't update my device software

    Dear,
I have BB Z10 and i can't update software version by any method of 3 methods you provide ! first method to update through BlackBerry Link don't work with me as i can't find  " install update " button on the application . Second update from the web don't work with me too as it show me error on " 15% " done ! . last way to update through device require Wifi connection and I don't have one but i have data-plan which can cover the update size but the device can't download without wifi .  so plz can you help me solving this problem  and i hope you will permit  big-size downloads through data plan withoud need of Wifi  in the future thank you

Same here.  Win 8, BB Link 1.1.1.32.  Z10 device detected, PW entered.  I can sync all items and view files in explorer on device.  Notice on BB that new OS avail from Bell (I do not have wi-fi).  In BB link "Automatically download updates for your device software and Blackberry Link" is checked.  Settings (gear) page for device shows links to Backup (works), Restore and Remove device.  There is no notice to install new software and no icon on the left where screenshots on the web say it should be.  No event logs show an error.  Just does not work even with elevated admin rights.  Been plugged in for 2 days now.   There are no files over 100 MB on the computer in the past week indicating that BB link has actually downloaded anything and it is pending.
Is there an option to manually download the software and make it available to the BB link to install?  We also want to use the BB Link to pre upgrade the OS before giving devices to users and activating them on the BDS server.
I have the local Firewall and network Firewall not showing any blocks.  On the BB Link main screen created a log file on the desktop.   In the zip the Desktop.log shows the following:

I have just upgraded to Windows 8 and my scyning and upgrading my phone with new apple software fails, Itunes looses connection with the device (phone), cant backup the phone or download new software, is this an issues with Windows

    Hi, stig2013.
I would recommend the steps in the article below.  See the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver.
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
If you are receiving an error message, find the exact error number that you recieved in the article below and process the steps.
iTunes: Specific update-and-restore error messages and advanced troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
This error occurs when the device unexpectedly loses its USB connection with iTunes. This can occur if you manually disconnect the device during the restore process. You can resolve this issue by using USB troubleshooting, using a different Dock Connector or Lightning Connector to USB cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.

  • Trying to download new STORM device software 4.7- continually freezes!

Can someone please help me- I am attempting to download new device software version 4.7- it continually freezes on Task 2 (of 11) at module 271 (of 301)... this is extremely frustrating. Thanks

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Are you attempting the OTA update? If so, your device may be low on AppMemory space. Before attempting again, first do this to fee up as much memory space as possible:
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
If that does not help, then you should try a tethered update. From the PC that has been configured for DTM for your BB, go to your carriers download site and obtain the instructions and download file:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
No matter what, you should do a complete manual backup via DTM before starting an update process, just in case...
    Hope that helps!

  • Download modules for device software 5.0 stops

During the update process the modules are downloaded, but this process stops at "downlaoding module 682 of 847". After a while (5 minutes) an error message appears: trying later again could help. But I have tried now for about two weeks.
What can be the problem, and how to solve?
Can the software be downloaded as a single package and installed from the laptop?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello,
I would recommend downloading the software directly from your carrier website and installing it on your computer directly. http://bbry.lv/cp57Eb
Make sure to backup before proceeding: http://bbry.lv/945DGc
Then I would recommend using the loader application to reload the software on your BlackBerry smartphone. It is located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Apploader.
Make sure that the BlackBerry smartphone is connected directly to the computer if a laptop and plugged into the back if a desktop.
    Thank you

  • Palm Desktop 6.2 software issue

I recently downloaded the Palm Desktop 6.2 software from the Palm.com web page. I am using Windows Vista 32-bit. The software "installed satisfactorily", but when I opened the software on my desktop computer, only the media and install buttons were available on the left hand side of the software. The buttons for date, address, to do, and memo were missing. I had to restore to an earlier date to use the former software.  I have had this happen on both a desktop & laptop computer. Please advise.

I regards to the color categories, it is stated on the download page on the Palm website. You probably have installed Palm desktop directly from the CD which does not explain the differences.
In Palm desktop 6.2 the function to store the data in a different location is not available.
Regarding the calendar entries, you have probably exceeded the maximum number of records allowed on the device.

  • Palm m505 and Windows Vista

I recently resurrected my Palm M505 to start using it again but it doesn't want to hotsync to my computer using Windows Vista.  I tried downloading update 6.2 from this site (not that it showed that it would workf for my Palm, but what the heck) but it didn't fix the problem either and I'm getting a fatal error message.  Is there a patch or a work around that I can download/use that will allow my Palm to work with Windows Vista?  I really don't want to get rid of the Palm and switching operating systems is not an option either.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Post relates to: Palm m505

Check the OS version such as 32 bit or 64 bit.
If it's 64bit then the device will not syc. That are no drivers for the device, you might want to consider infrared hotsync.

  • Palm m505 Unable to Sync

I have been unable to sync my Palm m505 running Palm OS 4.1 for over a year.  I am running Palm Desktop 4.1.4 on a Sony VGN-FS920 running XP Pro.
I have contacted Palm Support multiple times regarding this issue and sited an article that I found on their site indicating that this is a hardware related issue from Palm.  They claim they are sending me a "reset" card by I have yet to receive anything from them in the last 5 months.
Can anyone tell me if there is any other way I can get all of my data off of my Palm m505 to another Palm device since I can't sync to the desktop?  Is it possible to beam entire categories from one Palm to another?
Do you have any suggestions of how I can resolve this sync issue?
Here's the story from the Palm website about the m505 problem.....
New cradles offer enhanced ESD protection.
A small percentage of our m500 and m505 handheld users have reported synchronization issues - they are unable to perform the HotSync® function. The issue is electrostatic discharge (ESD).
Here's what happens: you sometimes build up excess static electricity (hair stands on end, clothes cling, you get a shock when you slide across your car seat), and if it isn't dissipated into, say, a door knob or metal cabinet, then it's possible that at the time you place the handheld into the cradle, a discharge of static electricity can occur, which in some situations can scramble the synchronization software. When this happens, neither the handheld nor the cradle is damaged, but the synchronization software needs to be reset by Palm.
Palm handhelds and HotSync cradles meet CE standards (8KV) for protection against electrostatic discharge. The newly designed “E” and “H” cradles include enhanced static electricity buffers. You can get one free if you own a Palm m500 or m505 handheld that did not ship with an enhanced cradle. Please contact Palm Technical support for additional information. Please have your Palm m500 or m505 serial number available.

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you've been having. PM me with the Service request number and I can look into where that card is. (If you don't have the SR number, the name and contact number should be enough.) Don't post this information here. PM me.
Yes you can beam entire categories from one Palm to another.

  • Palm m505 to MacBook OS X

Hey all, have a new Mac Book, and loving it. However, trying to get an older model PDA (Palm m505) to sync with it. Having trouble. Computer isn't even recognizing that the docking staion is plugged in. Any help would be welcome. Thanks.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Are you attempting to synchronize your m505 handheld organizer using the Palm Desktop, using iSync or using the Missing Sync for Palm OS?
Troubleshooting your configuration requires an understanding of your basic configuration.
It is doubtful that your MacBook fails to recognize the presence of the USB docking station. It does not show up in the System Profiler unless it is actively communicating with your computer, and it cannot do that if your device has not been added successfully using the HotSync Manager, iSync or the Missing Sync. So, put that aside for the time being, describe your configuration, what and how you have installed your synchronization software, and exactly what error message or messages you receive when you attempt to add or configure your device, configure a conduit, or when you initiate a synchronization event using the HotSync button on your cable or cradle.

  • Palm m505 - Accidentally Deleted Memo

I just made a bit of an oops. I was working on a Memo in my Palm m505 and attempted to paste some text into it using the "/P" keystrokes. As occasionally happens, my strokes were interpreted as "/D" instead, which deletes the Memo. Fortunately, there is the confirmation screen. But as has never happened to me before, I absentmindedly confirmed before I fully realized what it was asking me.<br><BR> I have the Memo function on the m505 configured to "Save archive copy on PC", so I know the data is still in there. But I am working away from home and am not therefore not where I have my synchronization setup. Is synchronization the only way to access the deleted data that obviously is still in there somewhere? I would sure like to recover that memo sooner than I expect to be home if that is possible .
    Post relates to: Palm m500
    Post relates to: Palm m500

Once you delete the memo from the device you cannot recover it unless you have the same memo on the PC in Palm desktop. If it is in Palm desktop, you can sync to get the memo back on the handheld.

What I notice in the original post is this error
ARP: address resolution for 10.0.0.2 timed out.
which says that the router is looking for the 10.0.0.2 server but not getting response to its arp request. Can the original poster clarify for us how the device that has the image file is connected to the router that has the problem? Also what kind of device is 10.0.0.2?
