Palm m505 won't recognize an expansion card

I have a Palm m505 with a mystery ebook expansion card that came with it. I insert it properly but hear no system sound. When I tap on the card icon, it says that there is no card inserted. I have not installed the Palm desktop, just trying out the unit. Why is this happening?. Also I want to get an sd card, will a photo type sd card be ok, also what is the megabyte limit the m505 will accept?  I am not much of a techie so please make your reply easy to follow. Thanks, Ken.

You might want to try the File Manager update:
http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/na/m-series/m500/unlocked/solutions/article/48335_en.html
This fixed a formatting problem with cards larger than 128 megs.
Do you have a card reader on your computer that will read the card?  It might just be defective!
Good luck finding a store that will work on a legacy Palm product!

after updating to iOS 6.0.1 my iphone 3s won't recognize my SIM card. i updated my phone through iTunes, what happened to my phone?

If it now says "invalid" or "unsupported" SIM, your iPhone was almost certainly hacked to unlock it from the original cell carrier and updating has now removed that hack and the iPhone has relocked back to that original carrier. You will have to contact that carrier and ask if it would be possible to get your iPhone officially unlocked.

  • Iphoto won't recognize my memory card anymore (since a month ish?) but the mac itself does and puts the icon on the desktop.  How do I get it to recognize it again?

Iphoto won't recognize my memory card anymore (since a month ish?) but the mac itself does and puts the icon on the desktop.  How do I get it to recognize it again?

Thank you so much for responding.  I will look for the other disks.
One more question - I initially decided to do this because my Mac kept opening with the date changed to 2008, and I keep having to re - enter my Web key.  In addition, it was running much slower.  Since I 'cleaned' everything out, I thought all would work perfect.  This morning, the date changed to 2008; again AND it again asks for my Web key.  Does this mean my Mac has reached it's almost end or could I have a 'bug' on it?
Again, thanks so much for your suggestions.

  • My mac won't recognize my sd card

my mac won't recognize my sd card. recently had the hard drive replaced as per the replacement program.

Check your Finder Preferences, Sidebar, to make sure the "Hard disks" is selected.

  • LifeDrive will not recognize SD expansion card

Just bought my first SD card for my PlamOne LifeDrive. LifeDrive does not recognize the card at all, no "beep" from the LifeDrive when SD is inserted. Card info program only shows the lifedrive in the drop down menu. How do I get my PDA to recognize the expansion card so that I can format and use it?
    Post relates to: LifeDrive

Does your PC see the card when you put it in there? If so you can format it with the PC, when you do format with the PC the Lifedrive sees the card better as FAT or FAT 16(both are the same). Try that and see if the Lifedrive sees it then

  • Computer won't recognize Airport Extreme Card

Okay, I need a little help. I bought an Airport Extreme card for my eMac today, which is what my manual told me I'd need to connect to a wireless Internet connection.
I followed the instructions to install it exactly, but the computer won't recognize that it's there. It still says "no information available" when I go look at the Airport card settings.
I'm not sure if it's a fault of mine, the card's, or the computer's. When I insert the card, should it snap into place? Should it slide out easily? How can I tell if it's in properly?
If anybody can help out, it'd make my year. I am dying to get this high-speed Internet set up. Thanks.

Use the information in KB 86325, eMac: How to locate the serial number and identify your model to identify which type of eMac you have.
If you have one of these eMacs
    eMac (ATI Graphics)
    eMac (USB 2.0)
    eMac (2005)
you require the AirPort Extreme card.
Any other eMac requires the original AirPort card.
If you are using the correct card and it is not being recognized, one or more of the following must be correct.
    The card isn't installed correctly.
    The card is defective.
The eMac's motherboard is defective and not recognizing the card.

  • Palm centro does not recognzie the expansion card

I have a Palm Centro (verizon). I tried using a 4GB SDHC expansion card. When it is inserted into the phone the following message is display: "The startup application for this card cannot be run".  I tried using a 128mb SD card but got the same result.  Could this be related to something defective within the phone or am I missing something in the setup?

There isn't anything in the top right of the display. There is, however, a greyed out depiction of a sd card on the screen. When I select it, it goes to a different screen with a greyed out icon of a SD card with a plus sign. When I select the sd icon it displays the default pictures on the palm and/or displays the following message: "Unable to preform this task because there is no media or media is protected". When I select the home key to back out of the screen, I get a screen asking to install Wireless Sync. Email. This is getting weirder by the minute. I have a 30 day window to try the phone, and I'm thinking this thing is a bit too quirky for me.

  • Photoshop CC 64 bit sometimes won't recognize Nvidia graphics card

Sometimes when I open Photoshop CC 64 bit on windows 8.1 I get these warnings. I then have to restart my laptop for Photoshop to recognize my graphics card. Sometimes when I launch photoshop it is fine and there is no issue at all. It seems like every other time I launch Photoshop I get these warnings. I noticed that when installing programs from Adobe CC there are 2 versions installed. I tried opening the version that is not 64 bit and I did not get these warnings.

I noticed from another thread, that nVidia released a new Windows driver earlier this month.  About the 3rd of March if memory serves.  I don't know what card you are using, but I think some of those drivers cover a range of cards for the OS the driver is intended for.

  • Sony ICD-PX333D won't recognize micro SD cards

Bought the recorder almost two months ago but it never could recognize a micro SD card.  I have tried different brands and capacities but nothing worked.
I have been talking to Sony suppor for a month now but they provided no real solution.  I followed the links they sent me to the T but none of their suggestions worked.   I made a Youtube video to show them that I did follow the steps and that they didn't work.  But Sony support said they didn't have access to check out a Youtube video.
Just two weeks ago Sony told me that this device wouldn't support any external memory.  Now they're saying the problem was my cards.
I noticed there are couple other members with the same problem and one seemed to have their problem solved.  I followed the advices given in that thread but they didn't work for me.
I tried to insert the card every possible way but nothing seemed to make any difference.
I tried to format and reformat the cards, nothing happened.
I used my computer to restore the cards to default settings, still didn't change anything.
All my cards are new, from 2 to 32G.  The 32G I am trying now is a Sandisk brand new micro SD HC card.
Sony support treats me like I was an idiot.  I am at my wit's end.  Please help!

  • My Imac won't recognize my SD card?

I put my 8gb SD card in the slot, properly, and unlocked, and it does not show up on my desktop or finder or disk utilities. How do I get it to recognize the card so I can download pictures off of it

Do you have your Finder Preferences set to show external disks on the desktop? And is your reader USB? Readers to fail - they are just hardware and can (and will) fail at some point. Do you have another card reader and/or have you tried it on all your USB ports (to rule out a port problem)?

  • ITunes won't recognize valid credit card in PayPal

When I try to add PayPal as my method of payment in iTunes, the PayPal Authentication page says, "Error Detected: This recipient requires that you have a valid funding source from United States in order to complete this transaction." I do have a valid credit card in PayPal. I've e-mailed both PayPal and iTunes several times and have received no helpful answers (canned responses only). Has anyone else had this problem?

I have e-mailed iTunes support more than 15 times in the last 2 months and they have not investigated this problem. Two of their responses asked me to reply with a phone number and time I can be reached, and I heard nothing by phone or e-mail after responding with that info.
My credit card in PayPal has a United States bank address and PayPal verified that it is valid.
I haven't found any workaround and am disgusted with iTunes web-based support. I don't believe a person is reading my issue; the support e-mails appear automated - with human touches - to respond to key words in my question but don't answer the unique nature of this issue.
Has anyone else received viable assistance from iTunes web-based support?

  • CANON XSi Won't Recognize Any SD Cards

I ordered a used Canon XSi off of Amazon and got it today. Immediately after opening it, I put a 4gb SDHC in it and I got the message that there wasn't a card. After that, I tried every SD card in my house, including a class 10 card. I formatted them, and reset the camera, but nothing is helping. What could possibly be wrong? I realize that it is a risk buying such an expensive used item, but do I just send it back or should I look for professional help? I don't know what to do, and I am very disappointed.

    Hi haileyromero!
Thank you for posting about this.  Your EOS Rebel XSi is compatible with 4GB cards, so if it will not detect multiple different cards ranging in capacity and speed rating, then something is wrong with the camera that will need to be corrected by our Factory Service Center.
To start the repair process, you'll need to complete a Repair Request on our website.
Additionally, you may participate in the Canon Loyalty Program.  The Canon Loyalty Program option allows you to replace your current camera for a discounted fee, plus shipping.  The original non-functioning camera would then be returned to Canon USA for recycling using a prepaid shipping label that would be provided.
If you would like to take part in this option, please call our Sales Department at (800) OK CANON (800-652-2666) seven days a week, 8am to Midnight.  Let them know you have been working with online support and the Canon Loyalty Program was offered.  Be sure to have your serial number for your camera at the time of your call.

  • WON'T RECOGNIZE 32GB SD CARD

32GB SD card works fine in 2 older iMacs but not in 2011 MBP. 16GB SD cards work in all of them. DiskUtility sees the 32 GB card but FORMAT and PARTITION aren't even available. Card already has my LION INSTALL DISK on it.

    Hi doctorsugarbear,
    Welcome to the forum!
Just to ask, have you tried to use other compatible SD cards, particularly those that have smaller storage size (4GB, 8GB, 16GB)? Did you use a PC to reformat the SD card, or did you use the phone itself (Settings > Phone Storage > SD Card > Format SD card)? Did you reset the phone by going to Settings > About > Reset phone?
Try to check if the phone's software is updated by going to Settings > Phone Updates > Check for updates. Make sure that all system apps are updated as well. Try to scan the QR app codes shown at this link to verify if they're all up-to-date: Nokia Windows Phone 8 App Updates.
By the way, make sure that the SD card is formatted using FAT32 system (exFAT for 64 GB SD cards). This is the SD card format which is supported by WP8 devices.
Let us know if this information helped resolved the issue.
