Palm One Tungsten E2 CD

I received a PalmOne Tungsten E2 second hand. I did not receive a CD with it or a cord. I was able to purchase a cord but I am unable to find anyone with CD or downloads that I can get.
I can use it now but not to its full potential.
Does anyone know how I would get one?
Thank you

I'm not sure what you mean.  The downloaded file needs to be run only on your desktop, not the Palm.  Once the Palm Desktop program is installed onto your computer, you connect the Palm to the computer to synchronize data between the computer and the Palm.
If this synchronization is what is not working, you will need to go to the Windows Hotsync board, and check the "stickied" threads near the top of the board.

  • Palm One Tungsten E2 software memory?

I was given an E2 for my small business to keep track of my customer base, calendar etc. The manual said I have (I believe) 28mb of memory space. I added a 1GB sd card when I got it to expand the memory capabilities when needed (I tried an 8, 4 and 2 gb cards but the E2 would not accept them).
I haven't been able to find out how many entered customers with scheduled information etc 28 mb of memory will hold. When this initial area is filled, will the spillover automatically go to the sd card or is the sd card only for pictures, music and video?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, and welcome to the Palm Support Community.
Expansion cards cannot hold additional (or "overflow") contact database information.  All of that info resides in the built-in device memory.  They can hold pictures, music and video as you have suggested, as well as third-party Palm applications and databases.
The internal memory is large enough to hold thousands of records.  Exactly how many depends on what else you have installed on the device.

  • Palm One Tungsten E2

I've owned this Palm for 6 years and have never had a problem with the sync function. All of a sudden it wouldn't connect with my computer, Windows XP. I sync it to my Outlook. I uninstalled the software and then reinstalled and it appears to sync but does not sync the contacts or calendar which are the only two things I'm interested in.
I also have a Zire 71 that belonged to my husband and I can't get it to connect at all. I've installed the software but nothing happens. Any suggestions?

  • Palm One Quick Install has stopped working

I just got a Tungsten E2, it was working okay until I tried to install an app - I keep getting the message "Palm One Quick Install has stopped working".  I can't even open the program on my computer.  I was able to upload pictures using hotsync, but it wouldn't let me add the app to Documents to Go.   Should I just delete the program and reinstall?  This is all new to me and I would appreciate any help!!  Thanks!

What OS is on your computer, and which version of Palm Desktop are you using?
I'm not quite understanding what you're attempting to do... You want to "add the app to Documents to Go"?
Are you trying to sync an Office file?
Is the program you're trying to add PalmOS files?  Are they still in .zip form or .exe?  If so, you need to unpack or run the .exe on your computer first.

  • Touchpad on Palm Pilot Tungsten E2 has stopped functioning

I have a Palm Pilot Tungsten E2. One day it was working fine. The next day, with no new applications added or anything different, the screen touchpad is frozen. I can touch the screen, the letters pad, the numbers pad, the icons, etc. and nothing works. No matter where I touch on the screen, nothing happens. It powers up and asks for my password, but I can't enter the password because the touchpad won't accept any entry. When I connect the USB cable and cable, then press the hotsync button, nothing happens. What can I do to perform a hotsync so that I can retrieve my information?

I received the following response and hope the poster will tell me how I can copy the entire thread ... all 16 pages ... before it does go away.
This thread is on our old forum, not sure why i cannot find it here after the migration...read it while u can before it goes away."
Result:  Though I didn't find the exact answer, it led me in the right direction and I was able to figure out a way to unlock my frozen digitizer/touchscreen so I could hotsync with my laptop. After getting it unlocked and hotsyncing, my E2 reset itself and I had the opportunity to use the hard buttons at the bottom to get to the touchscreen option and used another user's suggestion about making a small z in each dot instead of touching the center as prompted. The touchscreen on my E2 is now working properly again ... at least for the moment. All my info remains intact and I am able to pick up where I left off. In January 2013 I'll try and find time to make a video illustrating my fix to post for others having the same problem.

  • Palm One v. 4.14 desktop software- instructions to sync contacts into Outlook 2003?

I am running Palm One, version 4.1.4.  This is very old.  I would like to bring contact information over to Outlook 2003.  I do not want to bring the contacts over one by one in V-card format.  I want to import all contacts at once into Outlook 2003.  I read a previous posting regarding this ( http://forums.palm.com/t5/Windows-HotSync/Synch-Palm-4-1-4-desktop-with-Outlook-2003-calendar-and-co... ) but was unable to make the suggested fix work.

Did you hotsync with palm desktop then switch to sync with Outlook. To switch to sync with Outlook.  On your computer click on start or push the windows button. Select all programs than select the Palm folder. Select PIM Conduit Sync and select Sync with Outlook. Did you try this. I am guessing here because you did not give a whole lot of info on your problem and why you can not make it work.

  • HP/Palm Pilots Tungsten E2

I'm not sure if I should be asking my question here, or on the HP/Palm Forums area. Has HP bought out Palm Pilot? I know they have the Palm Pre and Palm Pre Plus. I have a Palm Pilot Tungsten E2 and need to transfer all the info off of it to my HTC Hero Smartphone. Can and how would this be done? Any help is greatly appreciated! PLEASE HELP!!

    Hello again mikie_t.
What happens when you try to hotsync?  Do you receive an error?
The version I linked to was for Windows Vista so it should still work within Windows 7.

  • Palm one zire 31

computer died along with the hard drive.  had to reinstall palm one software.  installation went good, but when I hot sync to palm desktop, there is a problem.  "connection between handheld computer and desktop could be established." HP no longer has phone support for this device.  any ideas?

What OS is on your computer?  Is it a 64bit system?
Is the HotSync Manager running, and is it configured for the connection you are using?
I'm going to wager you have a new computer with either Win7 or Win8, 64bit.  You'll need to install the Aceeca drivers.  Please view the sticky thread at the top of this section titled "64bit Windows USB Palm Desktop drivers" for instructions and links.

To Anyone that has or is still using a Palm One Zire 72s, I have had mine for a number of years and love it, unfortunately I started having problems with the charger and got an new one but could not get it to work.  I also ordered a new battery and could not get it installed, acquired a Torgue -5 to remove the screws to open the back so I could replace the battery but was not able to open the back.  Anyone have any suggestions no one seems to know how to open this to replace the battery.  Help Please

    Post relates to: Zire 72

JadeFla, did you pull the back sticker off and remove the Torx screws found there?
Once they are removed, you need to split the case halves gently with something like a butter knife.  They are pressed together and snap and unsnap to get them apart.
There are several repair sites that will do the job for you - look at directfix.com and usedpdaparts.com for example.
    directfix.com has repair videos, but alas - no Zire72!  Only a Zire71...

  • Two users, two Palms, one computer

    Hi all -
I have a Palm device that I've been using with iSync, iCal and Address Book successfully for some time. My husband just got a Palm, and I'm trying to decide the best strategy for us to be able to sync with our one computer. It would be nice for us to be able to share addresses and calendar events sometimes, but not essential, I suppose. We don't have a .mac account.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

You do not need a .Mac account to synchronize anything but additional Macintosh desktop and portable computers.
You can either add an additional Palm device to the single account you likely share on this one computer, or you can create a second Mac OS X user account on your computer and synchronize the second Palm device with it.
The advantage of sharing the same account is that you will be able to share contact and calendaring data. The distinct disadvantage is that any addition, change or deletion of any information on your respective Palm devices will be propagated though your synchronization pool, affecting the Address Book, iCal and your other Palm device. You can limit the potential 'interference' or 'damage' by carefully choosing which individual calendars and contact groups are synchronized by each of you. Those configuration options are controlled for each device in a drop-down configuration pane for each device.
Be sure that you choose a unique HotSync name for the second Palm device and overwrite its contents during the initial synchronization event. If it contains contact or calendaring records that are unique, enter those records by hand into the Address Book and iCal so that they are not lost when the second device is overwritten.

  • Palm one software installation CD won't install.

I just purchased a palm tungsten e, I thought it may have been the cd that came with it, so I downloaded the most current version from palm's website, but the same thing keeps happening.  I have windows xp, I have a Dell dimension computer (2 years old).  The install program comes up and proceed with the process.  I agree to the terms, and it starts copying and downloading the files.  Right after that, a little msg box pops up stateing "configuring registry", after that msg box disappears, i have the "palm desktop installshield wizard" box with the msg "installing desktop software" at the top and the "this may take a few minutes, pleas wait msg in the middle.  The status bar remains blank with no green bars indicating progress.  I've waited over a half an hour and there is no progress.  What the hell is going on? Have you met the requirements for a successful install:
You (who will be Hotsyncing) are the ONLY person logged onto the computer.
You have Windows Admin priveleges and are NOT logged on as Administrator.
ALL other applications are OFF, especially firewall and antivirus.
Do NOT plug the device into the hotsync cable until the install is completed and you are asked to sync.
Never, ever use Switch User; always Log On and Log Off.
