Palm Pixi Updates in 1xRTT Areas

I am trying to find a way to update the Palm Pixi in 1xRTT areas. My market does not have 3G and the nearest 3G market is 5 hours away. The local technician told me there is a software updater on the Palm Website but I cannot find anything here to help. I have several of these phones prompting us to update them and no way to update! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The current update is not available on the website, but when it is made available it will be found here

It should be made available within the next few days.

  • Bluetooth: Volume Issue (Palm Pixi, Hands Free Link Bluetooth)

    Make/Model: Acura TL
    Year: 2008
Carkit Model info (Manufacturer, firmware version, etc):
Details of problem: Call volume is so quiet you can't hear anything on bluetooth HFL (Hands Free Link)
    webOS version:.4.5
    Included in compatibility list:
Yesterday morning the built-in bluetooth on my car was working fine, then at lunch when I tried to use it it was impossible to hear the call.  I checked the phone and the volume is turned up all the way, and the bluetooth HFL is working fine with my husband's phone, so the issue has to be with my Palm Pixi.  I can hear the HFL commands and prompts without issue at a normal volume level (8-10) but to hear even a whisper of a conversation or even a ringtone I have to turn the volume up to about 40.
I've tried to search on my Pixi to see if there are any settings I can adjust or update, but haven't been able to find anything.
Anyone have suggestions about how to correct/address this issue?
Post relates to: Pixi p120eww (Sprint)

You have to go through the entire pairing process or can you just turn off Bluetooth and then turn it back on again, or go into the phone and select the car and they connect? If you are having to go through the pairing process again, it could be a problem with the vehicle. The iPhone uses the latest Bluetooth stack and it may be a problem with pairing with the vehicle system. Try contacting Honda/Acura and see if there are any firmware updates for the systems in the vehicle.

  • DST craziness on Palm Pixi

I'm on MDT. My Pixi updated the date/time properly, but moved all my calendar appointments an hour into the future, and the SMS time stamps are an hour in the past. I tried the tricks I'd found by googling, turning network time and time zone off, turning airplane mode on/off, resetting the phone, and removed/replaced the battery. I did a manual sync on the calendar to my Palm profile, and no luck.
Anybody else having problems? You would think an issue I noticed reported last spring would be fixed by now.

Yep.  I have Palm Pre Plus.  Am a light sleeper so I use my phone on "silent" as my wakeup.  The little buzz is enough for me.  Had my phone set for 545a but after DST it went to 645a.  Not happy.

  • Connection between Palm Pixie Plus and Photosmart "wireless" printer.

I've had the palm Pixie Plus from Verizon...I was having no problems connecting to my laptops(2) and my Hewlett-Packerd Photosmart printer..until Palm Pixie Plus went into an update and now the printer does not communcate with the 2 laptops making it useless to us as a wireless.  Neither Palm Pixie nor H/P printer can find a solution.
We've been on the phone with techs now for 4 days and countless cell phone minutes.  Neither wants to accept blame.  We've tried just about EVERYTHING.

IMHO, if your main interest is viewing video (I know Hulu won't work, not sure of the others), why are you choosing the smallest screen HP placed on a phone?  :/

  • Palm Pixi (Sprint) Problems

I tried to get on Live Chat but it seems to be down.  I will try to be both brief and detailed.
I got a Pixi just over a week ago.  From the word go it seemed really sluggish.  When I tap an app, the lighted icon sits there for at least 3 seconds and then the app delays further to load.  If I have 2 apps loaded it gets almost unresponsive.  I restored the Pixi with webOS Doctor and the problem is still persisting.
Does this sound like a hardware problem?  Is there something else I can do to isolate whether it is S/W or H/W?
    This question was solved.

Good luck. When you try to take them back, they will only replace them with a refurbished phone. I had my Palm Pixi two and a half weeks when the skin started peeling around the face. The store told me they could replace it but the one they got in (two weeks and a half weeks later) was peeling completely around the phone. The next one they got in looked good but I have to put it on speakerphone to hear the other person. They are sending another phone, supposedly to arrive tomorrow...but it will be another refurbished phone...wonder what will be broken on it????

  • Lost the Touchscreen Features on Palm Pixi

    Good HP Support colleagues,
I have lost the Touch screen capability on my Palm Pixi device.  I have tried to reset back to factory settings as advised through this forum and am now presented with Just Restart or Erase All Data and I am unable to get past this screen given the inability to touchscreen either command.  Is it a case that my device is doomed?  Welcome a response to confirm or deny and what the next course of action is?  thanks in advance

Try pressing the following keys at the same time:
    Opt - Sym - R
    This should initiate a restart.
Another way to restart is pressing and holding the Power button, then slide the ringer switch back and forth 3 times.
These are covered in a sticky post at the top of this section of the forum entitled "WebOS Key Combinations"

  • Can I still get a Palm Pixi Plus??

So if i am still able to get one then do i need a data package for it?

Thanks for the information ampidgeon. That's correct, Palm phones launched before a specific date do not require a data package. The phones that do not require and data package to activate, but use data and have the option of adding a data package are below:
    --Palm Treo 600
    --Palm Treo 650
    --Palm Treo 700
    --Palm Treo 755
Palm phones that need a data package of $29.99 or higher are listed below:
    --Palm Centro
    --Palm Pixi Plus
    --Palm Pre 2
    --Palm Pre Plus

  • Palm Pixi + Will not connect to Wi Fi

Has anyone else ran into this problem I just purchased my Palm Pixi + Yesterday Got it activated today and when I got home I tried to turn on wi fi but when I push wi fi on it the circle just keeps spinning and never turns on any help is appreciated.
Post relates to: Pixi Plus p121vzw (Verizon)

I'm having a similar problem. I've had my Pixi + activated for 3 weeks and everything was working fine until yesterday. Then all of a sudden the wifi stopped working. When I try to turn it on all I get is a loading circle next to it that doesn't stop. My phone had always automatically connected to my home network so I thought it might be that but it wasn't. I also went later that day to a relatives house where my phone also automatically connects to but same thing wifi will not turn on. I also did the Quick Test and got "Code 20" "Hardware area: Modem".

  • I NEED HELP PLEASE! Palm Tungsten E2 versus Palm Pixi

I LOVED my Tungsten E2:, but I accidentally stepped on it, plus it didn't seem to be compatible with Windows 7.  I can't afford an expensive PDA and have been considering the Palm Pixi as both my cell phone and PDA.
I've been online all over the web trying to find out what I think would be simple answers, but can't seem to find them.  I want to make sure that the Palm Pixi will fit my needs like the Tungsten did.  I LOVED the calender function, To Do function, notes, etc.  Basically, everything that I used to use with a paper planner I want to do with the Palm Pixi (as I did with my Tungsten E2).  I'm actually not that concerned about internet connection, music player, etc.  I just need the organization!  And if I get a decent phone out of that AND music, internet, etc., that will just be gravy.  But I DO want the Documents to Go function.  Also, can I Hotsync to my computer's desktop?
Can anyone answer this question for me?  Thanks so much!

The webOS Calendar, Contacts and Tasks functions are much different than the old Palm OS functionality.  Some folks like them better, some not.  There will be an adjustment, no question about it.  Only thing I can suggest is that you give a Pixi a trial run and if you don't like the way it works, return it with the 30-day return period most providers have.
But I DO want the Documents to Go function.
Documents To Go that comes with webOS devices is a read-only application, i.e. it cannot edit or create docs on the handheld.  Moreover, Dataviz (the developer of Documents To Go) has ceased development of its webOS application.  However, it has been announced that QuickOffice will be providing its own Office-compatible application as part of webOS 2.0, which will be upgradable to a version with editing capabilities as well.

  • This field cannot be updated as there are open sales order lines

When trying to enable Item Attributes then I am getting a message "This field cannot be updated as there are open sales order lines". I cancelled the Sales Order ( which was having only 1 sales order line and that is also cancelled) but still I am getting the same message.
    How to overcome this problem.
    Khan

    Thanks Karthik & Sandeep........
Issue got fixed. There was an open Sales order Line because of that line the issue was coming. After cancelling that SO Line, Users were able to update the Item field.

You can continue to use the current AppleID for iTunes, but your husband can create a new AppleID to use to create a new iCloud account that will be his own and not overlap with yours.  If you do not have another email address to use for an AppleID, just get a free Gmail account and use that.
You can have as many AppleIDs as you want (or at least, as many as you have email addresses for).  You can use a separate AppleID for the store, another for iCloud, and even another for iMessage if you wish.
You will want to keep the current one as the shared one for the store as all your previous purchases are permanently tied to it, and thus you need that AppleID to update or redownload your current purchased content.

  • How do I install Firefox mobile to my Palm Pixie Pro?

I have a Palm Pixie Pro. I'd like to use firefox on my mobile. But it's not an iphone, blackberry nokia....... So how do I download it. I've used it on my desktop for many years.

There's no official version of Firefox for HP webOS phones like the Palm Pixi Pro. However, there is an unofficial experimental version here: http://www.fractalbrew.com/labs/prefox/
This is from an old project to bring Firefox to webOS. I don't know if it works on the Pixi Pro. The project needs more webOS developers in order to continue.

  • HT201070 I currently use OS 10.6.8 and Aperture 3, and just got a Nikon D600. It seems the the RAW Compatibility updates (4.01) are for use only with OS 10.7.5 or later, is that right? Do I need to update my whole OS to use this camera? Thank you!

Thanks to Bobthefisherman & Turbostar.  Turns out I've got a corrupted disk (which I found out via "verify disk" on Disk Utility First Aid.  Previously, I never thought to verify disk -- only to repair permissions -- so I never knew my HD had been corrupted.
Wasn't able to do a clean install of OSX10.6 because my SuperDrive only sporadically will load discs, so I am taking it to the Apple Store to see if they can do a clean install, and depending upon costs, get the Superdrive replaced.
The HD wasn't partioned by the way.  And I did have just over 40GB of contiguous space.
    Thanks again.
