  • If you are JUST now signing up with your new iPhone Read this First!!

If you have not begun the activation process - Stop Read - and then Proceed.
Sign up for a new number when you activate!!!!
    DON"T MOVE YOUR NUMBER OVER
If you are with AT&T - add an additional line
If you are with another carrier - Get a new number.
You can bring your old number over to the iPhone at a later date. The back log for activation is on bring in old numbers over - Not for new numbers.
So, if you want to wait in vain and ***** and moan and suffer like the rest of us - Say you want to bring your number over.
If you want to start playing with the coolest phone ever: Get a new Number, then deal with having your old number moved once the insane sign up frenzy dies down a bit in a few days.
I'm sure this activation problem will go away, once the frenzy is over.

    enjoy your phone!

    Throws error saying
    "Unable to Verify Update"
iOS 6.1.2 failed verification because you are no longer connected to the internet
    ============================================================
    Can anybody please respond

Try this and see if it resolves the issue.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
    Then try again.

  • Unable to verify update. iOs 8.0.1 failed verification because you are no longer connected to the internet.

I have updated my iPad, my wife's iPad, but both our iPhones (5S) and (5C), give the following error every time we try.
"Unable to verify update. iOs 8.0.1 failed verification because you are no longer connected to the internet."
We are obviously connected to the internet because the updated downloaded on all 4 devices, but the iPhones will not go the next step.
    Wifi ok
    Connection ok
    Help ...
    Mark

Apple has pulled the iOS 8.0.1 update due to problems.
iOS 8.0.2 will be released in "the next few days".
Loss of cellular service or ability to use Touch ID after updating to iOS 8.0.1 on iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus
We have a workaround for you if you have an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus and you lost cellular service and Touch ID functionality today after updating to iOS 8.0.1. You can reinstall iOS 8 through iTunes by following the instructions below. We are also preparing iOS 8.0.2 with a fix for the issue, and will release it as soon as it's ready in the next few days.

hie there Actually um trying to update new iOS 7 for my iphone 4 but when i press the button to install new software suddenly it appears why " iOs 7 failed verification because you are no longer connected to the internet " even my phone is already connected to net

I tried powering down and re-starting the iPhone (as suggested at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275). This seems to have cleared the "...not connected to the Internet" problem, and iOS 6.1 is now in the process of downloading.
Thanks very much for your feedback.

Unable to verify update iOS 7.0.2 failed verification  because you are no longer connected to Internet

I still haven't seen a solution to the problem "unable to verify update iOS 7.0.2 failed verification because you are no longer connected to internet"
I did not have my iPhone plugged in to power during download, had plenty of power.
Download burped once and restarted download.
I got to the Verification step and it failed multiple times.
I plugged in power, I turned off iPhone and restarted.
I tried to do the download again and it goes to the Verify step
and get the same error message.
I do not have an Apple PC, but, have a Windows 8 PC.
WIll iTunes help better manage the update?

  • HT4623 update to ios 6.1.1 failed verification because you are no longer connected to the internet, when I am connected to my Wifi. Do I need to adjust some settings?

Update to IOS 6.1.1 failed verification because you are no longer connected to the Internet when using home Wifi and verifing connectivity by using Safari to surf net and viewing wifi setting. Do setting need to be adjusted?

This is what worked for me: Double tap your home button to bring up the programs running in the back ground, press and hold so they show the red close option and close all programs.  After that shut your iphone down and power back on.  Immediately go to General>Software Update and it should work.  Good Luck

  • HT4623 update process fails with the following message "Unable to Verify Update.  iOS 6.1 failed verification because you are no longer connected Internet."

my iphone 5 is connected to a wi-fi network and i'm able to browse the web and receive emails.  however when i try to update the software the process fails with the following message "Unable to Verify Update.  iOS 6.1 failed verification because you are no longer connected Internet." It gives an open to "Close" or "Try again", but the retry is also unsuccessful.

Try to connect to secure web site. If you can't, that would mean that your iphone is unable to authenticate itself to apple servers in order to download update. If you can - I would still guess same but with less certainty and suggest to update on another network.

  • IOS cannot verify as you are no longer connected to wi-fi...but i am?

After finishing downloading iOS 8, iOS 8.0.1 appeared. So i downloaded that, and now im trying to install it but it keeps giving me an error message saying "Cannot Verify Update, iOS 8.0.1 cannot verify as you are no longer connected to the internet." But I am? Ive tried rebooting, turning off wi-fi and turning back on, charging it up (up to 80% and still nothing) and practically all of it! I can get a picture if it would help.
    Thanks,

iPad Mini (not the one with retina), iOS 7 (final version)

Here is a screenshot from my iPad inside Settings -> General -> Software Update, after hitting the Install Now button.  Note, the status, listed below "iOS 8.0.1" says "Downloaded".   That's why I think I downloaded it just about the time they decided to pull 8.0.1, and thus that was Apple's way of stopping me from installing it.  Farfetched?
