Palm Rejection Issue on s10-3t?

Hi all,
I'm new to here b/c I am interested in an s10-3t. The only thing that's bothering me now is the palm rejection issue.
It is a multitouch screen, and didn't come with any stylus. If I use it for inking/writing only, I need to keep my hands up in the air...that's annoying...
Is there a proper solution to this? I saw the posts about using different stylus but they don't seem to address the palm protection issue...

I have the same issue. A long crack across the touch panel and not the lcd beneath it. I asked the greek lenovo tech support if it is possible to replace the touch panel and am waiting for their answer and a quote for a price. I will post their answer here.

Trying out the Helix 2 right now. Shocked to find palm rejection nonexistent while writing in the standard input panel with stylus. Windows move around the screen, palm writes garbage characters, etc. Plus, no way to avoid constantly pushing home button under screen center with palm while entering text, interrupting everything. If your pen is close enough to see the hover point appear, you shouldn't be able to move anything with touch. That's an easy test. If that works like it should, maybe your hover distance is small. How close do you need to get to see the cursor track the pen? I think it should be at least half an inch. If that also works, then maybe you need to adjust your writing style, putting the pen closer to the screen before laying your hand down.

Palm rejection feature on ideatab S2110 ?

Hi,
I just recently ordered a Lenovo S2110 ideatab. I intend to use this tablet for serious note-taking.
I am a graduate student, and need to archive all my notes for future reference, and my intention is to completely replace paper-notes. I plan to carry this to all my classes, and use a stylus for taking notes.
Having said that, I would like to know if there is "Active palm rejection" hardware built into the Lenovo Ideatab S2110. I know that some apps and a few styluses incorporate the palm rejection feature (to a certain extent), but I wanted to know if the tablet hardware itself has active digitizer palm rejection (like the thinkpad tabler corporate tabs)...
I am asking this because my daily lecture notes will consist of engineering drawings, and lots of text, that I just definitely need a tablet with palm rejection technology. Any inputs/help is highly appreciated.

Since this does not have a Stylus pen, it would not have palm rejection.
A cheap pen from the store is the same as your finger, if it had rejection you would not be able to write.
Only tablets like the TPT and Note have built in Stylus's with palm rejection.
Only way to write without issues is to buy/use a glove. Smudge Guards are nice. Look them up. I can't wait to order one. But for now I just cut an old cotton $2 gloves.

Palm rejection feature - which models is supported ?

i am using iPad 2 for education
and i am in pencils to write and draw
i used bamboo pen with bamboo paper app for 2 years
now i am interested in 53 pencil but unfortunatly the app paper is not supporting [kiss to pair] feature on iPad 2
or adonit jot or adobe ink.
the thing i understand that 4th generation iPads only supported palm rejaction feature, is that true ?
so can i have help with deciding to keep my 4 years old iPad2 or change it .
if your advice is to change it so what model ( with palm rejection support ) should i buy from models listed in the link below : ( 4th generation only )

Palm login issue on my HP Pre 3

I've a Palm login issue on my HP Pre 3 after a reset via the "lost device" function (because of a software problem) and now the device is locked. Is there a way to unlock it?
I've tried to re-flash the device (through WebOS Doctor), change the password, change email with no results.

Are you able to log into your webOS account online with a computer?
If you previously selected "I lost my phone", that might block that phone from being used to log back into a webOS account. I don't know that, just speculating.
Anyway, if you log into your webOS account online, are there any devices listed? I've never done the "I lost my phone" thing, so maybe there's an option that says "I found my phone"? Wishful thinking, probably...

Second Palm TX issue, can't find cust service.

Good afternoon, Unfortunately this is my second TX digitizer issue. I am having huge problems trying to contact customer service for assistance. Either the phone number is not in service or I get the run around. When I email the company, I get no response (Actual email below). Its going on about 2 months now and I am quite frustrated and I have been using palm products for about 10 years and I am loyal. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Good afternoon, I have some problems with my Palm TX handheld and had an extremely hard time finding a phone/contact number for the PDA assistance, I hope you can help me. I have a Palm TX S/NN70UXP3M0RX Mac:000B6C4020011 with the following issues.
Digitized drift – I have purchased and installed “Power Digi” and it helps a bit but I find myself having to re-digitize the touchscreen quite often.
Screen area not recognized – The upper left hand corner of the screen is not recognized most of the time when a stylus is used in that area
Upon performing a hard reset, it is extremely difficult to digitize the device on the initial digitize screen. It generally takes about 45 minutes or longer to digitize after a hard reset due to the fact the upper left hand portion of the screen is not recognized.
All of the above issues are progressively getting worse.
This is my 2nd Palm TX with this problem. I contacted customer service(my first TX), verified that it was in warranty. There were problems communicating/understanding the operator but we got through it and I was told to await a confirmation # that would be sent to me and that I could not sent the unit in until I received the #. I waited several weeks however and received nothing from palm. I started the process again, became frustrated, and eventually purchased another Palm TX (this one). I love the Palm pdas, the pdas are great for work etc. This time however going out and buying another one is not an option (I don't make a lot of money).

Palm Centro Issue With Yahoo Mail Plus POP via Versamail

I have a Palm Centro and have been using Versamail for 3 1/2 years with my Yahoo Mail Plus account via POP. On September 12th I stopped having the ability to send or receive POP email on my Yahoo Mail Plus account. I have spoken with Sprint & Yahoo. I have done all the steps they have asked and I have even gone as far as replacing my phone with another Palm Centro and still have the same issue. I know the config is correct as it was working for so long. I can use my Gmail POP in Versamail fine. I receive the error when setting up the Yahoo Mail Plus account in Versamail when I click on "Test Settings" I receive the following... "Error connecting to server. Please check your network or server settings and re-sync." Does anyone have any ideas about this? Thanks.

actually some e-mail providers like yahoo free account, msn mail and free hot mail does not work with the mail application, as you told me that it needs to enable the pop server for such mail
and about the iphone are you sure that ur using the mail application in iphone, you must be using safari to browse through ur mails
yahoo mail plus is compatible with the mail application but it comes for a price so here you could either use safari to go through your mail or go in for some other free account like AOL which will work with the mail application

Palm 680 Issues

Maybe I'm just a neophyte, but I am encountering numerous issues with my 680. I have never been able to load my tunes. It constantly resets, especially when sending text messages. What else? I can't send data over to the computer because I have low data storage space? It says have plenty of room on my card, yet little remains on the phone? What do I need to do?
I can't even perform a hard reset correctly, apparently...

You will need to free up the memory on your device by transferring files, photos, etc. to a storage card.
Here is a link to the userguide for your device. On page 215 is the section regarding the expansion/storage card.

On page 162 it has the procedure for copying pictures and videos to the expansion card.
After you free up space on the device, sync to the PC to backup your data. After the sync you will need to Hard Reset the Treo to get it back to factory condition in order to see if it stops the unexpected behaviour. The Hard reset will erase any data on the Treo. Palm 680 Issues HELP!

My phone powers on normally everything works great! once the backlight times out I cannot wake the phone back up! None of the keys work after the initial screen timeout! I can recieve calls fine, but I cannot make any phone calls due to not being able to use any of the functions or buttons!
I tried to reset the phone but it just wont reset!! HELP ME PLEASE!

Try a 10 second soft reset by taking out the battery for at least 10 seconds. This allows the device to power off completely, like a shutdown on a PC.
If that reset doesn't fix the issue you will need to try a hard reset that will put the Treo back to the factory condition. The hard reset will erase all data on the Treo.

Are you sync'ing the device to the same username in Palm Desktop as an older device?
If you are, this will cause problems on the new device. When you sync the device, it saves the device settings, 3rd party apps, preferences, etc. in the backup folder in the username folder on the PC. When you sync the new device it copies the contents of the backup folder for the old device to the new device. This will cause corruption in the settings for the new device thus causing erratic behavior of the new device.
You may need to hard reset your device and rename your backup folder. Go to http://www.palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?ID=887 and follow the directions to do a hard reset. Next before you hotsync your data back over you will need to rename your backup folder, to do that go here;

C:\program files\palm or palm one\[hotsync username]\ and rename your backup
folder to backup.old

Start-->documents\Palm OS Desktop\[hotsync username]\ and rename your backup
folder to backup.old
Then hotsync to your current hotsync name and all your contacts, calendar,

Palm 680 Issue - "Connecting with the deskop using Cradle" msg

I have a curious problem with my 680 Smartphone. When not connected to the cable it is continously and spontaneously attempting to connect with the desktop. Is this some sort of HW short or malfunction? The phone is unusable. Everytime I clear the msg it goes back into synch mode.
Even stranger, if I connect the cable from my PC to the phone, it will become usable again. I can clear it out of synch mode and use all the features of the phone.
Has anyone ever experienced this? I have done all the suggested troubleshooting on the support site.

Hello GlennPalm1000, Welcome to the Palm Support Community.
This issue seems to appear when the bottom Hotsync connector gets wet or otherwise contaminated. You might try cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol or contact cleaner from an electronics store.
Any chance the phone got wet?

Palm 750 issues

My palm 750 contantly gets hung up when I am trying to text message. This later turns into all applications getting stuck. I am on my second phone and my second hard reset and losing my data.

I have a 750 on AT&T as well. I have a similar issue where my phone will hang when trying to send a text message, then all data required communication programs hang, then the entire phone. The only thing I have noticed on my phone is that ActiveSync is running when I go to end all programs. This is odd as I didn't use ActiveSync between one hang and the next.
I get the feeling that ActiveSync is somehow being triggered by a bug and overrides all other functions.
Do you notice ActiveSync running when your phone hangs?
I sometimes get it running by ending all programs, disconnecting from the data connection, turning off the phone and then turning everything back on. Other times I must remove the battery.

Palm pre issues

i ordered a new palm pre cause mine was cracked and the apps wasnt available now ive got the new phone installed the update but am having trouble connecting to carriers like at&t i can send one message they recieve it but i can see the reply message and cant send any future messages me i love the pre its a very good phone

Car Kit Bluetooth on Palm Pre Issue

I have connected by Palmpre to a Bluetooth visor car kit. However, as soon as I get an incoming call, Bluetooth goes into card view and therefore disconnects! Samething happens if I try and make an outgoing call. It is impossible to leave Bluetooth screen on full view so how on earth can I use this in the car??? Any ideas???

Currently those devices are Audio devices and A2DP devices. any other devices, like some cell phones and computers it may see them, but won't display them as a device it can pair with. Palm Centro Issue; Hard to Explain

Hello eveyone,
I really hope I can explain this accuaretly enough and hopefully get and answer.
I woke up this morning and my Palm Centro (AT&T) wouldn't turn on. Even though I thought I had charged it all night, I thought the charger must've fallen out or something. Later on, I got home and I plugged my charger in and the centro came on just like it would after you had the battery taken out or after a reset.
It came ot the date & time screen as per usual and then further went to the main phone app with the 'Phone Off.' I first loked at the battery meter and for some reason it said 97% (charging) which I thought was odd considering it was just dead. I then went to turn the phone on, the Hello Screen came on and it made the little nose but after that it restarted itself once again.
I've tried this several time and I've tried a soft and warm reset on the device and nothing works.
I now have it plugged into my computer via my hotsunc cable and the charge light is green but it will not turn on. i've also tried a soft and warm reset connected this way and nothing has worked, the screen wont even come on.
So I'm definitly at a loss here,any help would be very very very much appreciated!

You receive error message M7096 "Goods movement not possible with mvmt type 546" right.
You can use Transaction OMJJ to include the table entries. Enter 546 as the movement type and select the 'Allowed transactions' option. Make the additional entries here.
Or,
Insert a new entry in table T158B.
Call Transaction SM31.
Table -> 'T158B' -> select the function 'view maintenance'
Select the function 'New entries'
Movement type (MvT):546, Transaction (Tcode):QA32; ENTER
F3 back; F11 save.
It will work for you.
