Palm t/X unable to complete booting process .
Dear sirs, I am connecting my palm tx to the computer in order to charge it and /or when pressing the reset , palm logo (orange) shows with the black bar at the botton of the screen indicating the booting process, inmediately when the bar reach the opposite end it turns into the Palm powered screen , then the screen goes black and the process repeat itself, ALSO when the handheld is connected to the computer it is not recognized . (during that process I have pressed the synchro. and nothing happens) usually when this or other hardware is connected to this or other comp. I do hear a high pitch sound (bell) indicating recognition. I do not have another charging device in order to try. thanks in advance for your help .
Post relates to: Palm TX
Hello and thank you for using the Palm Help Forums!
The device will need to be fully booted for the computer to recognize it. I would make sure that the device is NOT connected to the computer during resets.
Once you ensure the device is disconnected from the sync cable try a 10 second soft reset. Just hold the reset button for approx 10 seconds then release it.
If the device is still having trouble booting you may want to do a hard reset to try to recover the device. A hard reset will erase everything on the device and restore settings back to default. For further information and instructions on hard resets please visit kb.palm.com and look up article number 42094 in the solution id search field.
I hope this helps and let me know if have any other questions.

This is my first time submitting a question to this forum, so if I am in the wrong place please let me know.
I am having a problem with one of my SQL 2008 (10.0.5826) servers. This is a virtual SQL server which has only been in production for the past 3 weeks. It is a very strange problem for me because I never seen anything like this. I am not sure
if this is a potential SQL issue or ISS issue or application issue. I have posted some of the error messages below.

Unable to complete login process due to delay in opening server connection
Hi Experts !!!
In my client machine , when ever i start SAP application , i need to choose the server and enter UID and PWd.
but it is not getting connected to server , and throws error as
"connection failed :
SQL State : 08001
SQL Server Error : 0
[Microsoft][Sql Native Client]Unable to complete login process due to delay in opening server connection ." *
Any suggestions woould be appreciable
Regards
Krishna VamsiHi, I had similar connections problems at a clients site recently, the following helped me resolve the issue:
SAP provided the following solution as a workaround:
SAP Business One client (not installed on the same machine as the
license service) might take several minutes to log you on successfully due to a delay in establishing a connection with the license server.
After logon, SAP Business One functions as expected.
This is due to the fact that the server or PC on which the license server is installed has more than one network card, or there is a dial-up & VPN interface-configured server.
Note: This can happen when you install the license service on a machine with more than one network card ALREADY installed.
Installing additional network cards on a single network card machine with a license service already installed might not produce this issue.
Other terms
SAP Business One, slow, login, log-in, delay, license, server, NIC, VPN, connection.
Reason and Prerequisites
Application error.
Solution
This issue is a candidate to be resolved in a future release.
Until then, you can use one of the following workarounds:
1.Disable additional network cards in the Network Connections. Also make sure there is no dialup interface or VPN interface set up, and restart the server. Note that you can re-enable the additional network card after the restart. This will resolve the issue until the next restart.
2.Install the license server on a machine with a single network card.
3.Disable all network cards, restart the license server and then enable the network cards again.
Disabling one of the network cards sorted it. This may or may not be the same problem you are facing though.

sairam.Better you can use transaction PHAP_PREPARE or PHAP_ADMIN for the document creation....
You have link between Template and Push buttons in Status only.....Click on perticular Status and check what push button you have selected for that status and check the Pushbutton check box for that status...and also check what is the susequent status for that pushbutton...
You have to check on Status Flow tab only for the pushbuttons.

The confuing part is I get the same message when I try to create a disc image.... Please help me!!!
Hi Helena
To get a good answer You should start Your own topic. So that all can see.
To find out if You can make it in time You need to support more info:
- What Mac and speed 600MHz - 2,7 GHz ???
- What OS - OS X.3.9 or X.4.2
- What QuickTime 6.5.2 or 7.0.2
- What iMovie 5.0.2 or 4 or 3 or 2 ??
- How much free space on Your hard disk ? (>20Gb is good)
If You have a dxG5 2GHz and have stayed with OS X.3.9 and QT 6.5.2 and
iMovie 5.0.2 then do this.
(I would repair preferenses first with Apple disk util tool)
Close iMovie
Start a New iDVD-project and chose a theme.
Locate Your movie project icon ("My fantastic movie" - or what ever)
Ctrl-Click on this - select "Show package"
in this there is a folder - Share movie
in this there is a folder - iDVD
in this a QT ref movie is located
Take this "nnnnn.mov" file and drop it just inside the edge of the
theme window You chosen in iDVD
Now fix title and so on as You like it and goto FILE and select
make a disk image on the desktop so You can test it with Apple DVD-player
or if You will chance - burn a fresh DVD.
Good luck !

My MacBookPro (mid 2012) will not complete the boot process. Yosemite's progress widget gets about 1/3 to 1/2 way across when the logo disappears and the screen goes all white for 10-15 secs, then the machine shuts down and restarts. This sequence will repeat seemingly forever unless I shut it down manually.
I upgraded to Yosemite from Mountain Lion a couple months ago, skipping Maverick completely, and I've done any associated updates that Apple told me about. I don't recall which version of Yosemite I have, but I'm sure it is the "latest and greatest".
I've tried re-starting in Safe Mode / Safe Boot and that does the same thing as described above except without the endless restarts. Instead of restarting at some point, SafeBoot proceeds to the white screen and then it hangs until I restart it manually. (I've waited as long os 20-30 minutes with no response).
When I tried the option-command-p-r key combo I never get any chimes or other noises besides the original 1 time boot sound that you would expect to get when starting up a macbook pro.
I was using the mac quite normally (meaning I was doing work I normally do on it and there was no indication of anything wrong) immediately prior to this happening.
The machine is BootCamp(ed) with Windows 8.1 which I use from a VMWare virtual machine instead of natively so that I can have both OSes running at the same time. I also think this is unrelated to my problem. I have been using this setup for more than 2 years.
My upgrade to Yosemite was uneventful and I thought it went well and was very smooth. I don't want to lead attention away from Yosemite, but at this point my problem does not seem related to the upgrade.
Any help is appreciated.Install or Reinstall OS X from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless. -
Question
I have a MacBook and I am unable to successfully update Firefox. I click "Update Firefox" and it's starts updating but never completes the process. I sometimes leave it for hours and it's still updating! It's almost as if something is blocking it ffrom completing the process. Please helpNext time an app update gets stuck try a reset. Press and hold both the home and power buttons for10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Then release both buttons. Wait till your iPad starts on it's own. Try now. Also YouTube is still available. If you can't find it the the app store go to the bottom of the app store page and tap purchased. All your deleted apps will be listed and you can reinstall YouTube from there.

I am trying to purchase but am unable to complete process as I have forgotten my security question answers and don't have a rescue address? please help
You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions. To do this, click here and pick a method; if that page doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to call, fill out and submit this form.

CD drive not recognized & Very slow boot process.
(I posted this in the newbie forum, but got no answer, so I give it another go)
Hi all,
After a few years alternating between gentoo and debian, feeling they were ok, but not exactly what I wanted, I found Arch, and now I am happy. It feels just right. I am still very new, but I am already quite sure I'll settle here.
But happyness and warm feelings asides, I have a 2 problems I'd like to get some help about.
problem 1: my CD drive is not recognized. my hard drive and its partitions show up correctly, but I don't get a cd drive.
problem 2: On the boot process, a lot of time (2 minutes or so) is spend scanning the ATA bus. relevant messages are as follow (plus a few lines before and after just to give context)

problem 2 and 3 are probably related, and linked to the new pata system in the kernel, but I don't really know anything about it, and my understanding of the mkinitcpio is very very limited. here is mine anyway, comments stripped.
Code:
MODULES="pata_ali"
BINARIES=""
FILES=""
HOOKS="base udev autodetect pata usbinput keymap filesystems"
I had it with
Code:
MODULES="pata_ali ata_generic"
and with scsi in the HOOKS as the result of the install, but the behavior was exactly the same.
Oh, and the machine I am using is a 4 year old laptop. Nothing in there is scsi or sata.
I hope anyone can help me with those.
ThanksHi, I'm a "newbie" too. Coming from Gentoo/Debian. Installed Arch this week and I think it could be just the distro I have been looking for.
I too had the same problem and think it's related to the pata modules. ¿Did you have to use the legacy-ide option when installing from the CD? I'm using old hardware (4 year old laptop) and had the same symptoms you are describing. I exchanged pata with ide in mkinitcpio.conf. My MODULES and HOOKS looks like this:
MODULES="ide_disk ata_generic"
HOOKS="base udev autodetect ide keymap filesystems" (deleted scsi and sata also because I don't think I need them).
Then run mkinitcpio.
I also had to change my device names in /etc/fstab from:
/dev/sda2 / ext3 defaults 0 1
/dev/sda5 swap swap defaults 0 0
to:
/dev/hda2 / ext3 defaults 0 1
/dev/hda5 swap swap defaults 0 0
And finally /boot/grub/menu.lst from:
kernel /boot/vmlinuz26 root=/dev/sda2 ro
to
kernel /boot/vmlinuz26 root=/dev/hda2 ro
¿Any experienced user can confirm that I'm doing the right thing? I didn't find documentation in the wiki for old systems. Only the mention of an ide-legacy option.
Hope it helps.

Time machine fails to complete backup
I've been getting the Unable to Complete Backup error message for several days. Last good back up was 11-22-13 at 11:13PM. I am running an iMac with OS-X 10.7.5.
I did the above steps in Console and got a huge string of lines; I tried to edit all repeitious ones that were the same, but still ended up with a lot of lines that seemed to develop more different processes over a few days. Sorry to put all this stuff in here, but I don't honestly know what to make of all of this code language.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Cisco Aironet 1262N stuck during boot process
I am banging my head against the wall trying to figure out why my AIR-AP1262N-A-K9 will not boot all the way. It will get all the way to initiating the interfaces and stop. I can never get to controlling the cli. This is my first time with a cisco ap but from everything that I read it seamed very easy.
This unit from what I understand will work all on its own with no controller. Hence it is called a "standalone" model. Yet it seems to be looking for something to finish during the boot. Below is the out put during boot. The last line is where it stops.
If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Add me to the list of those with TIme Machine backup failures.
I am repeatedly getting the following error message:
"Unable to complete backup. An error occurred while copying files to the backup volume."
I do have work-around.
1. Open Time Machine Preferences... (from the Time Machine menu in the menu bar)
2. Change Disk...
3. Re-select the disk you are already using and select "Use for Backup"
4. Back Up Now (from the Time Machine menu in the menu bar)
The error eventually comes back, but following the above procedure keeps it at bay for a few days.
I have only had these errors since 10.5.3.Mle,
Take a look at the following...
*_“Unable to Complete Backup. An Error Occurred While Copying Files to the Backup Volume.” (Console: “Error: (-43) copying”, “Copy stage failed with error:11”)_*
There are several reasons why this error message can appear. Consider each topic individually. If one does not resolve the issue, move on to the next one. The following topics have resolved this issue for others.
*If A Backup Is Interrupted* #
“If an interruption occurs, Time Machine will wait for a period of time to see if the Time Capsule becomes available again. After this time expires you will see a alert message stating "Time Machine Error. Unable to complete backup. An error occurred while copying files to the backup volume." In Time Machine preferences, the "Latest Backup:" field will state "Failed".” [http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1176]
You will need to reestablish communication with the Time Machine backup disk.
*Anti-Virus Software* #
Have you been running anti-virus software? xClav, Norton, Sophos, Macaffe etc... According to many posters in the forums this software can play havoc with Time Machines attempt to function properly.
*Firewire Devise Interferes with Time Machine Backups* #
If you are backing up to an external hard disk by means of firewire, do you happen to have another firewire device attached as well? An iSight camera or video recorder maybe? Sometimes additional firewire devises can interfere with the signal/power to the backup drive. Unplug it and attempt a backing up again.
*Corrupt File / Incorrect Permissions* #
One poster observed: “I searched my system logs and found a file that caused my connection to the TC to fail. I erased that file (after checking what it was - a temporary file connected to my Epson scanner) and tried again to back up for the first time. This time it worked, and in under 10 hours (I had been expecting about 20-24 hours, based on the data transfer speed).”
Initially this might be resolved without deleting the offending file. Simply use Disk Utility to “Repair Disk Permissions”. Or failing that, booting from the Mac OS X Installation DVD and running “Repair Disk” on the Mac’s internal hard disk. Now try backing up
Otherwise, you may need to track down the specific file causing Time Machine to choke.
Before attempting another backup, go into Applications --> Utilities --> and launch Console.
Under “LOG FILES” on the left select "system.log".
In the search field in the upper right, type in backupd. This is the process Time Machine uses to perform backups. By searching just for this process we'll isolate only Time Machine activities.
With the Console open, attempt another backup and note the time it starts and the time it stops. Often, the activities reported will identify the very file or event that caused the attempt to choke. (You can copy and paste the events for this backup attempt from the log into a post here and we may be able to tell you exactly what is happening.)
Once you determine which file or event it is, you can decide whether to move, delete, or modify certain things and then attempt another backup. For Instance, if the logs report something like this:
+Error: (-43) copying /Users/Home/Library/Application Support/Quicksilver/Actions.plist to+
+/Volumes/Backup HD/Backups.backupdb/My Mac Pro//Users/Home/Library/Application+
Support/Quicksilver
Then it’s telling you Time Machine is choking on the file labeled Actions.plist and it’s having trouble copying to the backup disk.
On your computer, Navigate to that file ( Actions.plist ) and move it to the Trash, but DON’T empty it yet. Now try backing up again. If it succeeds, you can launch Time Machine and go back 24-48 hours and restore a copy of Actions.plist and replace it. Then empty trash.
*Partition Scheme/Formatting Issue*
This KB article explains one reason you may be seeing that error message [http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1550]. It's a partition scheme issue. Time Machine is incompatible with disks partitioned as Master Boot Record (MBR). Unfortunately, this describes nearly every hard drive you can buy because MBR is a Windows partition scheme. You will likely need to repartition the drive and start again. (Naturally, this DOES NOT apply to Apples’ Time Capsule.)
One article on Time Machine made this observation: “Virtually everybody will have to open Disk Utility and repartition the disk as APM or GUID. It doesn't really matter which one because the Time Machine disk will not be bootable anyway. APM allows a disk to boot a PowerPC, GUID allows the disk to boot an Intel processor but both are easily digestible by Time Machine on either kind of processor.” (http://www.girr.org/mac_stuff/backups.html)
Once the external hard disk is repartitioned, select it again in Time Machine preferences and use it for your backups.
Let us know if any of the suggestions above resolved your issue.
Cheers! -
Applying Software Installation Policy Is Taking Long Time During Boot Process
1 of my servers is having slow boot up issue. I have enabled user environment debugging and the gpsvc.log file has been generated. I have also used the Windows Performance Analyzer to capture logs and results came back that the GP Client is taking a long
time in the boot process. So, I reckoned the slow boot is due to GPO but I am not sure where to look from this log file.
I have only paste part of the gpsvc.log file here due to limitation in the number of characters allowed to be posted. Would appreciate some good advise on this issue that I am facing.
