Palm TX battery goes fast

I recently purchased a Palm TX and really enjoy it.  However; I can't be on it more than 10 to 12 minutes before the time is up and I am close to losing my stuff.  Is there a battery I should buy that would make it last longer?  Also there is a memo card in the unit.  Can someone please help me.
Thanks and God bless

A full battery charge on a new TX should last you at least 4-5 hours of absolutely continual use with heavy battery-draining functions like watching video.  That translates into several days of "normal" day-to-day use for most people.  If it only lasts you 10-12 minutes, then it is either not getting fully charged or there is a defect in the unit.  If you purchased it new from a legit retailer, you have a 1-year warranty.  If you bought it used, I would look into getting a new battery from www.pdaparts.com or www.usedpdaparts.com both of whom will also do the replacement for you for a small additional fee.
The TX has what is called a "non-volatile file system" which means that it does not lose all of its data if the battery drains down to nothing.
Not sure what you mean by a "memo card."  There is an expansion card slot.

  • Not Receiving eMail, Battery Life Going Fast

This weekend, all of a sudden my battery life started going fast, and then I was not receiving eMail messages.  I have re-registered all my eMails at att.Blackberry and pulled the battery out to restart my phone.  I can send eMails, but am still not receiving on my bberry.  Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Solved by pinkdaisies...thanks Rock Star!  See below
Finally a solution that worked!! T-Mobile and Customer Care unfortunately were not able to assist, but Research in Motion(RIM) the manufacturer of my phone solved the email problem! Apparently, the older version of facebook causes conflicts with reception of emails.  You need to go into your Options, Advanced Options, then Applications, then choose Facebook.  Click the menu key, and then select modules, then scroll all the way down your list until you see "net_rim_bb_facebook".  Beside it you will see the version number.  You need to have version 1.2.0.35
If you have an earlier version, delete Facebook.  When you delete it you will be prompted to restart your phone.  When you restart, the facebook icon will be on your phone's "desktop."  Click on it, and it will take you to the website so you can download the new version.

Updating IOS 8.02 on 4s,when service provider is changed or not available, phone goes to search mode & its drain battery very fast,it does not stop even in charging mode,it goes to zero.(Even in switch off mode) only get charged in Airplane mode.why?(with different Sim cards)

Because GPS has nothing to do with WiFi, cellular signals, or data of any sort. GPS is implemented by signals sent by satellites that are received by GPS receivers. The receivers process the information from the GPS satellites and calculate your location. GPS never sends data anywhere; GPS functionality is receive only.
If you have WiFi or cellular data turned on this can improve the accuracy of GPS, because the GPS receiver can then use the known location of cell towers and WiFi networks to refine the GPS location. GPS by itself has an accuracy of 10 meters, or about 34 feet. Using the additional information from WiFi and cellular data this can be brought down to 3 meters (10 feet). This mode is called Augmented GPS, or A-GPS.

  • IPhone 5s battery drain fast with iOS 8.1.2

I have iPhone 5s from 1 year. After updating to 8.1.2 battery draining fast. I needs charge the battery 3-4 times a day. I did the restore as new, but no change. Stopping the apps does not help. Please for advice.

I have also experienced this, but I think I have started to narrow things down. First of all, I am on an iPhone 5S 32gb, and I did NOT have any of these battery issues under 8.1.1, but since upgrading, the battery drains more quickly for sure.
What I have noticed, however, is that there are some strange correlations going on with what appears to be ridiculously severe battery drain - my phone will show 50% battery, and minutes later (of normal use, taking photos, screen at about 50% brightness, no overt internet or GPS activity) it will suddenly shut down completely. This seems to happen most WHEN IT IS COLD and I am using it outside.
When I try to turn it back on right after, I get the "plug me in" screen, as one would expect with a dead phone. However, if I wait a few minutes and let the phone warm up a bit, I hold down the power switch and on it comes, and when it comes on, the battery indicator will show 50% battery life again. I think of this as my FALSE BATTERY DRAIN problem, possibly unrelated to the actual battery life. I have only noticed this happening while running the Camera or Safari apps. Looking at my usage doesn't seem to turn up any surprises.
So Apple... what the heck is going on here? Is this an OS problem, is it an issue with your apps, with app conflicts... what is going on?
This is unacceptable. You know after being an Apple user for 35 years now I am not going to switch to Android lightly, but this is pushing me that way, and it is certainly going to keep me from updating to a newer, shinier phone until you show some commitment to supporting your users, who seem to be experiencing battery issues rather frequently these days.
Please at least show some INTEREST in being involved in this solution... I'm not seeing any indications of effort to fix this.
    Thank you.

  • I have had a third generation iPod touch for three years. It's worked fine sice recent,y when it started looseing battery very fast and every apo including the built in ones like mail and photos have been crashing after about five. I uses of use!!!!

I have a third generation iPod touch. It's worked just fine until recently. The battery goes out very very very fast. But the main  issue is that all my apps (which is why I use the iPod, to play them) crash after using them for 5 minutes, this does include the built in apps like photos and calendar ect.. I have had this for about 3 years and love it very much it's not damaged at all. I Have taken very good are of it . Is it time for a new iPod or can I fix it please help!!!! Thanks!!

The battery can be replaced: http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&geo=United_States&product=ipod
As far as crashing apps, it may or may not be related to the battery life. I suggest the usual "restart, restore" routine: http://www.apple.com/support/ipodtouch/assistant/ipodtouch/

  • My HTC 1 phone is completely charged and after a few calls the battery goes down Why?

My HTC 1 phone is completely charged and after a few calls then battery goes down fast Why?
    HTC One

We certainly want you to get the most out of the device! To confirm is this the HTC One M7 or M8? When checking Settings>Power, what are some of the top apps and processes using battery? The battery is warrantied for one year so it is possible it is past its prime. Only HTC directly would be able to review replacement options of only the battery. I am eager to continue troubleshooting though!

  • Zen 4gb battery draining fast even when the unit is off

    Hi,
I have the zen 4gb. I also have the newest firmware loaded onto it. The battery goes down fast even when off. I also notice that if I go and turn it back on after 24 hours it appears to be still in standby mode. Any ideas? Thank you.

I remember the Zen Micro power issue (bought one for my son). That one was where the player stayed in "standby" when you powered off for many hours. This enabled a much quicker start up, but also resulted in some battery drain while "off". They changed this from 24 hours standby to 4 hours, I think. My Zen Touch did the same thing, but had a big battery so the drain was not so bad. It started almost instantly from standby, vs. maybe 20 seconds from true "off". The Zen (I have a Zen 4GB) seems to have a similar feature. I am not sure how long it stays in standby mode before shutting down completely.

  • Iphone 5 battery draining fast

My 22 month old iPhone 5 has suddenly started draining its battery really fast. It loses 70% in 3-4 hours. Nothing has changed in my usage and I haven't upgraded to IOS 7 or 8.  My serial number doesn't seem to qualify for the replacement scheme for certain phones bought in 2012/2013. Is there anything I can do?

You're iPhone probably is working too hard.  If the iPhone is in hot conditions, the iPhone actually works to try to cool itself down.
-Make sure it's in a cool atmosphere.
Also, all the apps you've ever used, the phone is still running.  To clear this off in iOS.6.1, you would double tap the home button and swipe up on the apps you don't want you're iPhone running.
Delete usless apps, songs, photos, or anything that's usless!
Do all this and I'm sure it'll help you're battery life! Hope this helps!

  • Iphone 6 battery draining fast

Jus bought my phone and my phone battery become hot even I only use it for 5 min and the battery draining fast is it my phone battery have a problem?

    Hi Mqchew,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your new iPhone. If you have a new iPhone 6 that you are concerned may be having heat or battery issues, you may first want to try restoring it to factory condition (if you have loaded any apps or data onto it) and testing it in that default state to see if the issue persists:
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support
If the issue persists after the factory restore, you may want to take it in to be evaluated and/or serviced. You may find the following page helpful:

  • Iphone 5s battery drains faster on ios 8.1.2

    Hi,
Facing problem of battery drains faster after 8.1.2 update. Phone low signals, App store low signals

PPhone low signal? Are you saying your phone is having issue getting a strong cellular data signal? If so that is why your phone is draining battery at a faster rate.

  • Safari in ios 7.1 drains battery very fast are you aware of this problem

Today when I use safari browser for this message the battery drains so fast but if I use uc browser it is not draining  the battery so fast what is the problem in safari

Do a clean installation. This OTA update is just a little patch compared to the 1.X gb update, there must be something. It is convinient, but there is nothing better than a clean installation. It is a pain because you have to back up your files and delete everything, but it is the only way to have good battery life. I was being lazy until I decided to do it and now my iphone 5 running ios 7.1 has better battery life than before, it was also getting very hot.

  • HT4623 I updated ios6.1.2 on my ipad2 and it is draining my battery very fast. How do I go back to 6.1.1 ios

I Updatedios6.1.2 on my ipad2. It is draining battery very fast. How do I fix it ? Can I go back to old version of ios6.1.1 if yes how?

Honestly this is the final nail in the coffin. Mine too has terrible battery life since the 6.1.2 update.
What the **** has happened apple. .? You have totally ruined iOS 6 its been a shambles since day one!
I have tried every suggestion so far and it's just the same.
But that's it now. My ipad is goin up on ebay and I'm looking at other tablets. I haven't had one issue with my nexus 4 since I went from iPhone 4 to that. Infant the updates have made that better not worse!!

  • Re: Battery Drains Faster in iOS 5 ?

    Hello,
I have marked that Battery drain faster if using apps in iOS 5 then the previous version, but the idle time is better in iOS 5.
In my case after fully charged, my phone show 100%  if its in idle mode for 7 hours, but as soon as i start some apps the battery drains faster, like if i use the apps for 15 min the battery remains at 80%.
    Have anybody experience this ?

@dimoff: I didn't experience the same thing with other mobiles, even of Nokia. I have Lumia 525, Moto G(Dual Sim). My wifi is always on and i use the phone without any problem for 1.5 days.
But where as Lumia 630, without any phone calls, only idel phone it could stand only for 1 day.
On the contrary what i have experienced is when i use 3G, battery is consulmed more tha wifi.

  • Since updating to ios 4.3.4 songs and podcasts have speeded up. Music goes faster, people talk faster in podcasts.

Since updating to ios 4.3.4 songs and podcasts have speeded up. Music goes faster, people talk faster in podcasts.

In the podcast playing screen there is a box on the left just under the scrubber bar.  It has a 1/2X. 1X or 2X. Those are the playback speeds.  Tap on the box to cycle through and change the playback speed.
