Palm TX keeps entering a reseting phase when I try to sync it. Help!!!

Question

Ok so when I try to sync my Palm TX I press the sync button and the screen turns black then enters a constant reset loop.  I have done a hard reset then tried syncing it again, same problem.  I also tried locating the backup folder everyone speaks about, cannot find it for the life of me. I go to documents/palm os desktop/sweetd and all that is in there is address, datebook, install, memopad, todo, and sync.ini.  I do not know what else to do. By the way I am running on windows vista.  Help please!

Rename the folder to anything else.  We suggest BackupOLD as an example.  Now Hard Reset your device and sync again to your previous User name.
When you next Hotsync, Palm Desktop will create a new /Backup folder automatically.  All your PIM data will return to the TX, but nothing else.  Third-party programs and any possible corrupt system files will remain inside the BackupOLD folder.
If all is now working correctly, you can reinstall any of the third-party programs from BackupOLD one at a time, each time looking for the return of the problem.  If the problem does return after the installation of a certain program, then that's the source of the reset loop.  Start all over again, but don't install that program!
