Palm TX: Outlook via Microsoft Exchange syncing but no data is transferred

Dear Group
I am not a newbie. I am very computer and gadget hardware and software savvy. My PalmTX syncs but there is no data transferred. Previously, the syncing worked well on Outlook 2003, 2007, and 2013. However, I started having issues with data transfer after syncing when I downgraded from Office 2013 to Office 2010. I downgraded from Office 2013 because it was a resource hog on my computer. I stripped all reminants of Office 2013 (including registry reminants) before installing Office 2010 to ensure that there was no possibility of confusion for the Palm TX. I tried unstalling and reinstalling several times. Note, every time I performed this process, I uninstalled the Outlook software/files as well as all Palm software/files including any registry reminants. When I reinstalled, I started with the Outlook2007 then PalmDeskTopSetup6.2.2 then PalmConduit2007. Also, I tried several brand new sync cables as well as cleaned/de-dusted the sync connectors on the Palm TX itself  . . . again with no success.
I think that the problem is that the conduit itself is not being formed. In Hotsync when I click on configure > change hotsync action > settings, I receive an error message that states " Microsoft Outlook Conduit - An unknown error has occurred". Previously this setting function would have text that would allow me to modify how the conduit is receiving data (i.e. MS Exchange; IMAP) as I recall - not 100% sure. If my suspicions are correct, one of the following is corrupt: PalmDeskTopSetup6.2.2, PalmConduit2007, or MS Exchange. Since I do not have "fresh" copies of PalmDeskTopSetup6.2.2 and PalmConduit2007 since the HP links no longer work, I ran a repair on my MS Exchange file. This still did not fix the problem. Note that everytime I uninstall/reinstall Outlook, I delete the MS Exchange file and all connected files such that it recreates it from scratch when Outlook is reinstalled again. To be clear, that does not rule out MS Exchange as the culprit because everytime Microsoft adds in a patch or security change something else always "breaks" :-).  I am unsure what to do next. Has anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions on what I could do to fix this? I really really need my at minimum my calendar tranferred to my Palm TX. Please help. Thank you.
My computer and Palm TX setup is as follows:
*Win7 x64
*Currently running Outlook 2007 (downgraded from 2010 and 2013 because MS Office Products are resource hogs on my computer)
*Email Sources: MS Exchange (work) and local ISP (home - IMAP email) - both accounts are running simultaneously
*Sync through USB
*Driver: Akeeba for Win x64
*Palm OS installation software: From HP - PalmDeskTop6.2.2 (Contains HotSync Manager 7.0.2); From HP PalmOutlook2007Condiut
*Outlook log file message:
-Outlook Calendar synchronized successfully
Duration: 1.1 seconds

Dear Group
I have solved my problem . I wanted to share the solution with you for those of you who may be having a similar issue AND you tried all of the posted suggestions from the PalmOS/WinMo message board with no success. My problem was that something was preventing the conduit between my Palm and Outlook from being formed. The result was that my Palm/Computer would sync but no data (calendar entries, tasks, etc) would be transferred. Before I get to what worked for me, run through the following options before you try my fix:
BACK UP YOUR FILES!!!! BACK UP YOUR FILES!!!! BACK UP YOUR FILES!!!!
Repair your outlook file (pst or ost) - microsoft has detailed instructions on how to do this with your version of outlook. Uninstall and reinstall Palm Components (Installation Files and Conduits relevant for your outllook). Sync your Palm/Computer and check for transfer of content (calendar, tasks, etc) to your Palm. If this is unsuccessful . . .
Remove your current outlook profile and build a new profile - microsoft has detailed instructions on how to do this with your version of outlook. Sync your Palm/Computer and check for transfer of content (calendar, tasks, etc) to your Palm. If this is unsuccessful . . .
Completely uninstall outlook, which will include removal of relevant registry entries and system folders. I STRONGLY recommend that you DO NOT attempt to do this "manually" yourself unless you are experience at making such changes to your computer. Incorrect changes to your computer registry and/or system folders will completely shut down your computer and ultimately cause you to lose all of your data due to the methods that will be required to repair your mistake. The good news for those of you who have no experise in this area is that Microsoft actually has a FIX IT PATCH REMOVAL TOOL that will perform a complete unstall of outlook/office automatically.  - microsoft has detailed instructions on how to do this with your version of outlook. Uninstall and reinstall Palm Components (Installation Files and Conduits relevant for your outllook). Sync your Palm/Computer and check for transfer of content (calendar, tasks, etc) to your Palm. If this is unsuccessful . . .
Ensure that your computer data is being completely INDEXED. In your Windows Control Panel, there should be a setting called INDEXING OPTIONS. If indexing is not complete follow microsofts instructions for your version of Windows to allow completion of the indexing. Note this will take some time. You may want to do this overnight. Uninstall and reinstall Palm Components (Installation Files and Conduits relevant for your outllook). Sync your Palm/Computer and check for transfer of content (calendar, tasks, etc) to your Palm. If this is unsuccessful . . . Uninstall Palm Components. Go back to INDEXING OPTIONS and completely strip and rebuild your index from scatch by pressing the Rebuild button in your version of Windows. Note that this will take some time, again you may want to do this overnight or over the weekend depending on how much stuff you have on your computer. Once complete, reinstall Palm Components, sync your Palm/Computer and check for transfer of content (calendar, tasks, etc) to your Palm. If this is unsuccessful . . .
What finally worked for me was creating a new WINDOWS PROFILE. I discovered through doing some other system and software checks that I did not mention here that my WINDOWS PROFILE was corrupt and that this was what was causing the failure of conduit formation between my outlook and palm. How you will create a new windows profile will be different depending on your Version of the Windows Operating System.  - microsoft has detailed instructions on how to do this with your version of Windows. Uninstall and reinstall outlook. Uninstall and reinstall Palm Components (Installation Files and Conduits relevant for your outllook). Sync your Palm/Computer and check for transfer of content (calendar, tasks, etc) to your Palm.
Best of Luck

  • Error While setting up Gmail Via Microsoft Exchange

Hi everybody, I'm Using an Iphone 3gs in iOS 6.
I Wanted to setup Gmail with Push, so i set up the account via Microsoft exchange. But after the setup is complete,
I cant access the mails. Whenever i open the Mail app, its showing "Cannot get Mail: Connection to the server failed"
Need Help with this as Gmail Push would be of great use to me.
Anyhelp would be appreciated, Thank you.

Google are stopping (maybe have stopped already) Exchange support for their email accounts. If you want "push" use the free Gmail app.

  • Iphone 3G - Calendar sync issue via Microsoft Exchange

I have my iphone sync fine with mail and contacts via Microsoft Exchange with my work PC outlook, but can not get the calendar to sync. I upgraded to Microsoft 2007 and it sync once (possibly after accepting a meeting invite), but then no updates. I have turned calendars off and on and lost all entries. I do get meeting invites though, but they too disappear.
    Any ideas?

Onicabbit has nailed this one. It has to do with appointments not having an end or start date or having a length of 0 minutes. Track those in outlook (use the category view and make sure you have no filter on which could obscure a few nasty ones), fix the dates and duration (open the meeting or event and add or change one of the dates) and the sync should work.

  • Synchronize Palm IIIxe with Outlook on Microsoft Exchange

    Hi,
(this is a duplicate, because I think my first post was on the wrong forum)
Our tech support suggested that only some Palm models wil synchronize with Outlook on Microsoft Exchange.  Does anyone know if Palm IIIxe will allow for this?
    thanks,
    janine
    Post relates to: Palm IIIe

Are you asking for a wireless sync or a cable sync? If its a wireless sync to the exchange server, this device cannot do that. A cable sync you will need to outlook conduits from the CD. If you do that have the CD then you need pocket mirror from www.chapura.com

  • Urgent: how can I add gmail via microsoft exchange?

    Dear friends,
Please help to instruc me how to add gmail via Microsoft Exchange in system Mountain lion.
I already fill in all info probaly, but it does not work, keeps showing "the exchange server ...... is not responding." please help, thanks so mcuh.

All.  I too was hoping that I could set up osx mail using exchange so it is a real shame it doesn't work the same as iOS even in Mountain Lion and still not in 10.8.2 where some more platform unification updates where made but then if it is Google that have to supply the server / make available....
Anyway, My primary reason for wanting to do this was contact sync.  However, I now have contacts synced with OSX contacts following another thread you can search for.  It was as simple as going into preferences accounts in the contacts app and setting up the google account.  The same as selecting the default google type account in mail instead of exchange.
If mail is open, even minimised you will get mail notifications even using IMAP in the new OSX notification centre.  And with contacts google account set up you will see another sync icon next to the time capsule icon.
So now all is working on OSX.

    Can anyone help please?

Have you checked to see if the Apps have been placed in an App folder?
Try swiping down from the middle of the screen so the search bar appears. Type the name of the App and if the App appears it is indeed on your phone.
You could also try restarting your device by holding the power and home button until the Apple logo appears.

Having trouble important my Google contacts via Microsoft Exchange. An Exchange pop up says that I have entered the wrong password. Help?

I found a fix!! Refer to this article regarding using Microsoft Exchange for Google accounts: http://www.zdnet.com/with-new-gmail-and-google-maps-ios-apps-the-iphone-5-is-cle arly-the-best-smartphone-available-7000008756/
In a nutshell, the Google/Microsoft Exchange combo will no longer work on apple devices. You will need to delete your Exchange account altogether. I know, scary! After you delete it, add your Gmail account like you would add any other regular email account on your device [Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Gmail > add your info]. That takes care of your email and calendar.
Now to get your google contacts back! Refer to these instructions: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4872?viewlocale=en_US
I promise, these steps worked for me (even though I was wincing while I deleted my Exchange account). Now I have my Gmail, Google contacts, and Google calendars (even the shared calendars!) on both my iPhone and iPad :D

  • Google iPhone Sync  Microsoft Exchange - Sync only works in One Direction

I have setup my iPhone to sync with Google calendar using Microsoft Exchange, which supposes to work bidirectionally.
I found that it only works in one direction such that anything in my Google calendar (includes all the subscribed calendars in Google) got sync to my iPhone. After I add a new event in my Google calendar, it is pushed to my iPhone.
On the other hand, any new event I add to my iPhone calendar is not updated and shown in my Google calendar. This means the sync works only in one direction:
Google Calendar Event --- sync ---> iPhone (works perfectly and the event is pushed almost pushed instantly)
iPhone Calendar Event. --- sync ---> Google Calendar << FAILED >> (Event entered to my iPhone never shows in the Google Calendar)
Sync works unidirectionally but not bidirectionally
Anyone has encounter this problem and is there any solution?

I don't think the solutions here are for the question that's posed.
I have an Exchange account set up on my iPhone 4. I want my Exchange calendar to sync with my Google calendar. I set up Google Sync, and I can see both calendars. However, there doesn't seem to be a way to get the two calendars to sync with each other. i.e., if I create an event on my iPhone, it doesn't push to both calendars. I have to pick one or the other.
The solution Stanley Wong suggested only sets Google as your default calendar; it doesn't actually sync the calendar events between the Exchange and the Google calendars. Unless I missed something?
Is there a solution for actually syncing the two calendars with each other? It seems like we should be able to create an event on the iPhone and have it sync to both phones without having to have Outlook open on a PC and using Google Calendar Sync to do that.

  • Using Gmail via Microsoft Exchange - No Meeting Cancellations

I just got the iPhone 4S and adding email accounts using "Mail, Contacts, Calendars".  I am connecting to my Gmail account via the Microsoft Exchange connector.  I did this so that I can sync my Google calendar and contacts along with my Gmail via Push.  So far everything is working EXCEPT for the calendar part of the synchronization.  I am able to create a calendar event and add invitees to the event.  The invitees do receive a meeting request and are able to accept/decline the request.  In turn I am able to see their meeting responses.  This part works as expected.
What doesn't seem to work is meeting cancellations.  If I delete the event that I just created with an invitee list, the event deletes on my Google calendar but no meeting cancellations are sent to the invitees on the original meeting request.  Meeting cancellations should be sent to the invitees on the meeting request! Is this known behavior?!  If not, does anyone have a resolution?

Google are stopping (maybe have stopped already) Exchange support for their email accounts. If you want "push" use the free Gmail app.

AC68, this is a BES10 account, through your company or employer?
I'd suggest two things, remove the account from your device, reboot and re-add it.
And, as your BES or IT Admin if you have further issues.

  • My sync key is still the same and I didn't even reset the sync but my data is lost. I don't know how? I installed v13.0 while I was using 14.0 earlier.

I had only one device where I used the Firefox Sync. I installed Windows 8 release preview(fresh install) and entered the sync key I saved using the previous install of my Firefox(v 14.0).
Then I installed Firefox on my Windows 8 installation with an older version of Firefox(v 13.0).
I got a message saying it was your first sync, but I have used it earlier also. Many times I have synced my laptop with the data on the server after every fresh install and it worked. I got all my data every time but this. Now, I tried it twice by removing this device from my sync list, but of no use. And I'm sure I haven't reset the data on sync server. And no one except me has access to my laptop and even the sync key.
Do I have any chance of getting my data? Whether be it by installing again v14.0 or something else. I will really appreciate for any help given.

    Hi!
Unfortunately Sync is not intended to use as a back up service. While in general it works just fine, data in the servers is not there permanently and sometimes it get's deleted (servers are just for transport not for storage).
My recommendation moving forward is to create a local back-up or to sync another device so you have the copy in multiple devices.
    Sorry about it,
    Ibai

  • Calendar/Mail not syncing via Microsoft Exchange server

    Hello...
I know, I know. Not another Exchange server question....
    But here goes....
    I

    ****.... return button..
My iTouch has all the right settings from my IT department who uses a Exchange 2003 server.
User name, password, server is right - at least we think it's right.
Once I try to get Mail on my iTouch, it comes up with a "Cannot Get Mail - the connection to the server failed' error.
I'm actually trying to sync my Entourage Calendar mostly. All setting are right under the preferences in Entourage for syncing. And my iCal on my computer creates a mirror image of my Entourage calendar.
I can sync up the Calendar through iTunes, but don't really want to do this. Would rather have this happen WiFi.
    Is there anything I'm missing?
I've reset my setting on my iTouch too. Done all that...read all the discussions, articles...
The only level that it stops me at is getting mail. The odd thing was yesterday it sent a couple of test emails I created last week. ODD!
Trying to get at least 75% of the capability out of this great technology.
    Thanks,
    Adam
