PALM CO TECH SUPPORT ACKNOWLEDGE PROBLEM. "NO SOLUTION"
BRIGHTHOUSE ROAD RUNNER TECH SUPPORT ACKNOWLEDGE PROBLEM " NO SOLUTION"
IT IS A FACT BRIGHTHOUSE RR.CFL.COM REWROTE SOME SOFTWARE CHANGING LOG-IN LAYOUT FOR THIS SERVICE.
SO ! ANY PALM USER USING BRIGHTHOUSE ROAD RUNNER ISP CANNOT REMOTELY ACCSSES THIER EMAIL USING "WWW.WEBMAIL.CFL.RR.COM"
ANYONE HAVE SOLUTION OR IS IN THE SAME PREDICAMENT..?????

Hi All,
My manager has the same problem with her ATT 8525 PDA. I worked on this PDA for 2 days with ATT and RR tech supports and finally I was told by RR help desk that the development team is working on it. They finally admitted the problems they are having. (
The error is 500 Servlet exception with a long list of JAVA.IO errors.

Palm Pre Plus outgoing email server for Time Warner (Road Runner)

I have set up my email using POP server with Road Runner (Time Warner). I am receiving emails but can't send. Today I called Verizon & Road Runner several times. Each one points to the other. Can someone help me with the outgoing info??

Here we go again - Verizon Centro Versamail not working with Road Runner

I posted back in early Demember about a problem I encountered receiving my Road Runner email on my Verizon Centro in this thread. The crazy thing just decided to start working on it's own after a month of failing to receive emails. Well, this afternoon it decided to choke again and has been choking all day. I tried my wife's Centro gotten at the same time as mine and it's doing the exact same thing. Each auto sync or attempt to manually retrieve email results in the following error:

Of course this is happening right before I'm heading out of town to coach my kid's hockey team in a tournament - a time I really rely upon my mobile email. I am ready to pull out my gun, blast a few holes in the thing and go get myself a Motorolla Q or a Blackberry. Can anybody help with this goofiness!?!

This is what I get when I go to download the beta as Verizon wasn't listed as one of their carriers: I guess now that I read it more closely, it looks like it sends one inernational SMS for each account I register, not each email sent.

That toolbar/ct plugin seems to cause problems for all who install it!
Close Safari, then locate and delete the following files and it should be gone:
/Library/Application Support/Conduit
/Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
/Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg
/Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg
/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle
/Users/<User name>/Library/Application Support/Conduit
where / is the root library on your Hard Disk.
If you are running Snow Leopard you should also look here:
Library/launchAgents/com.conduit.loader.agent.plist
Library/Application support/conduit plugins
Also, as mentioned by Gilli2000:
Library/Receipts - If you read it, it has information in it at the bottom referring extensively to "CT" and "community toolbar".
Maybe it is harmless, but trash those items anyway!
Note: Safari does not support any third-party toolbars except those supplied as an extension to Safari via the Extension Gallery.

The receiving email ports are:
IMAP is port 143
IMAP-SSL is port 993
POP is port 110
POP-SSL is port 995
Outgoing ports are...
SMTP and SMTP-SSL is on ports 25, 587 and 465. Port 587 has to be SSL, and port 465 is enforced TLS-wrapped and is generally used by Outlook users.

Thunderbird no longer recognizes my Road runner Account

I upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7. Now Thunderbird no longer connects with my Bright House road runner email account. I removed the account from Thunderbird and tried to re-add it, but I get a message that my username and/or password is incorrect. I can get my email (with the very same username and password) using windows Mail, and also Road runner Webmail, so I know that the user info is correct. Thunderbird still recognizes my other email accounts (gmail and hotmail). The configuration problem only applies to Road Runner email.

Confirmed workarounds:
* While composing an email open the address book and select the list you are trying to send to, highlight all the names in the list and drag them to the To: box. This uses your existing data without modifying it.
* Replacing the blanks " " between the words in such lists' descriptions with an underscore "_". This requires modifying your mailing list(s) description(s).

It's doing it again - Verizon Centro Versamail not working with Road Runner

This seems to be a bout a once a month thing. My centro fails every time it tries to retrive email from my Road Runner account, I post here and it mysteriously starts working again. Well, I am getting the same error so let's post and see if the techs pick up on it and fix the issue.

this is a server related error that only the server admins can help you fix it. i have this error before for about a week that was fix without doing anything.
maybe this will just happen at any given time without any warning.

Road Runner High Speed Connection

Road Runner High Speed is supposed to provide me with 5 megabits per sec but I'm only getting 4.7 megabits. Is that considered too small an amount of difference to matter? I don't want to have to wait all day for a technician to come over and give me a new modem if it doesn't make much difference. A friend of mine says that I'm "sharing" the 5 megabits with everyone who has Road Runner in my building and that's why it's less than 5 megabits. Is this the case? You are getting the full speed. 4.7 MBs per sec on a 5 Mbps line is outstanding. The missing amount is due to overhead.
Your friend is partly correct. Cable internet is a "shared" service. The more users online the less bandwidth each user receives. However, RR has been very good about providing adequate bandwidth to maintain throughput by adding more servers when the user load increases. But this is not the reason your throughput speed is slightly below 5 Mbps. About that your friend is way off base. This is in contrast to DSL whose speed is a function of distance from the server. The farther you are from the server the slower the speed. However, DSL is usually slower than cable for the same cost of service.

Modem Settings for Road Runner Dialup

I am unable to log on to Road Runner dialup.
I have this Apple internal modem:
Modem Model: Jump
Interface Type: I2S
Modulation: V.92
Hardware Version: Version 1.0
Driver: MotorolaSM56K.kext (v1.3.9)
I have tried every combination of settings I could think of, with and without Road Runner tech support assistance and am still unable to connect and complete authentication. I have verified user name and password to be correct.
Does anyone have a list of settings for connecting to Road Runner, or other suggestions?

I believe the modem is working. I can hear it dial, hear the handshake and apparent connection. The modem status display shows "Connecting" then "Authenticating" and eventually "Disconnecting". I get an Internet Connect report that "Authentication Failed". I have verified that my Account Name and Password are correct, by logging on to the Road Runner Web Mail site. I went through that in detail with their tech support.
How can I disable v.92 in OS X 10.5.6? I tried disabling error control and data compression, but that seemed to have no effect. What about these settings:
Send PPP echo packets
Use verbose logging
Use TCP header compression
Would any of those PPP settings have an effect on Authentication?
So far, the only way I have been able to connect and log in by dialup is with a PowerBook G3 (Wallstreet) in OS 9 with a PC card modem. My normal connection is a cable modem and that's no problem, but I wanted to test dialup as a backup. Now, it's a challenge.

Has anyone out there had problems with ABS, Road Runner, and Mail? I am trying to find out before I purchase. Thanks.

This is not a handheld issue, but a palm issue. I also just purchased a Palm Centro and I am having the same problem sending emails with roadrunner. I did not have this issue with my Blackberry, nor did anyone in my company. We have 30 days to test the Palm, and none of us have gotten a good answer yet!

Try Mail->Window->Connection Doctor. If there is a problem reported, try:
Open Mail->Preferences and check your settings.
If you still have a problem, Copy your settings (screen capture ⇧⌘4), delete account, and re-setup account

Firefox displays an outage page when trying to get to the Road Runner browser

From the desktop, I click on the Mozilla globe, and usually, the home page that opens is the Road Runner page showing news, videos, weather, etc. For the past week or so, the Road Runner page that opens says there is an error in loading the page, but things like hotmail, etc. will work. My husband's desktop is hooked up through the same router as mine, but he always gets the proper Road Runner homepage we selected in the Options, Tools section.

Why can't I create Road Runner account?

Set up the trial .mac mail account okay.
Have a hawaii.rr email on old PC and trying to set up on laptop.
Sometimes the pop-server creates but the smtp-server doesn't and sometimes neither one creates.
Called RR twice...they keep saying it's a Apple problem.

My Road Runner account ran into the same problem until my friend cloeb fixed it for me. The two techs I had talked to previously at RR told me to contact Apple, as it was their issue.
Maybe something in the above-mentioned thread will work for you.
