Palm Zire 21 hot sync

Installed Palm desktop 6.2 on Windows 7 64 bit machine. Downloaded USB drivers that installed correctly per the forum. Syncing on Palm Zire 21 log says it successfully completed but the Palm desktop software has no addresses, calendar, memos or to do list. Any ideas?

The Zire may be too old for 6.2.2, but there is a patch that can work.
Go here:  http://www.PimlicoSoftware.com/legacy.html  and download "PalmHotsyncSetup"
When you clicked on the user in Palm Desktop, was there another listed?

  • Palm Zire wont Sync with Address Book or iCal

I just got my Dad to switch from his PC to a MacBook and we can't get his Palm Zire 31 to syncronize with Address Book or iCal.
    Tiger 10.4.8
    HotSync 3.2
    iSync 2.3
I went thru the setup articles and compared the settings to the ones on my Powermac and I don't see any differences. The HotSync log gives iSync Conduit errors: Could not create database Address DB, NULL from rendezvous.
    This is not impressing him.

    Well,
I think we have this handled. After losing all of his data and using an old back up file, we are getting somewhere. I did a hard-reset and then synced it. I have his Palm and MacBook communicating. Now, to get that dumb device to play mp3's like it was supposed to.

  • Palm Zire not Sync

I did not use my Palm Zire through most of 2010 and the battery ran down for a long period of time.  I am keeping information updated on computer and now need to down load or sync to the hand held.  I charged up the battery in hand held and tried to sync it to computer but information from computer is not transferring to hand held even though it goes through the sync process with message saying sync is complete.

    2. Launch FileZ and tap on view and edit files

  • Resetting Palm Zire 71

I have a Palm Zire 71.  My two year old daughter hit the reset on the palm.  I unfortunately changed computers and  I no longer have access to the back up information on my desk top.  Is there anything I can do to regain my information?  The information stored in my palm dates back to the early 1990's.  Needless to say, I'm lost without my information.
    Thank You
    Post relates to: Zire 71

According to my user guide for the Zire 71, if the battery runs down to the point that the handheld does not operate it stores the data for up to a week. The first time my battery ran down to that point (bought used on eBay), all data is gone. It was only two hours from when I got the low battery message (and turned off the device) until I was able to plug into the charging cradle. When I got the device had had to do a hard reset to clear the previous owners data even though the device arrived with a dead battery. So why do all the post I run into here say that the battery won't save your data yet the user guide says you've got a week?
After the battery charged, I can't get the Palm to hot sync. I had to go through the initial setup with setting date, time, etc. When I try to sync, I get a message that... never mind. I tried to repeat the message and managed to sync to the computer. After the sync, I had to put in the current date and time again. Isn't the Palm supposed to pull that information from the computer?
Also, how do you sync all of the data? So far I have not been able to get note pad files from the palm to the computer. I would also like to know where expenses get synced to. I am using Office 2003 Outlook on this computer.

  • Hot Sync Manager (little hot sync icon on lower right of screen - Window's XP

In order for my hot sync to work when I log in to my computer each morning, I have to go to Start, Programs, Palm, and Hot Sync Manager to have the hot sync work (i.e., turn on the hot sync manager).  If I don't do this each time after turning on my computer, when I try to sync my Palm Z22 with my computer, it says that a connection between the Palm and the computer cannot be found.  Any suggestions for how to make the hot sync manager always appear in the lower right tray of my computer screen (i.e., remain on even after shutting down the night before and logging in the next day) would be appreciated.

  • First time hot sync problems

I've had to reinstall palm and hot sync applications for a tungsten E2 handheld. When I try to do the hot sync for the first time, it askes me for my handhelds password.  When I type in what I know is the correct password, it is not accepted. I've double checked what the password is, it just won't accept it, any suggestions?

Are there any Capital Letters in the password?

  • Hot sync freeze

its done this before, & im still unsure about how it happened in the first place.
it freezes on the hotsync, and it keeps saying that "the connection between you handheld and the desktop could not be established. Please check your set up and try again" the only issue though is that it freezes in this area and, its connected to the desktop at all.
    Post relates to: Centro (AT&T)

Do you see the hot sync icon (circle with red and blue arrows) on the bottom right of your computer screen? Is there an arrow with the option to "show hidden icons"? If you do not see it there, hot sync will be disabled and you will keep getting that message (the connection between your device and the desktop could not be established...).
To enable the hot sync program once again, click on Start > Programs/All Programs > Palm OS Desktop/Palm One > Hot Sync Manager. It will take about 5-10 seconds and the icon will be there once again.
Now the sync should go through.

What is the error message that you are getting? Can you paste the hot sync log here??
If you are getting a message that, "the connection between your device and the desktop cannot be established," you need to do the following:
Do you see the hot sync icon (circle with red and blue arrows) on the bottom right of your computer screen? Is there an arrow with the option to "show hidden icons"? If you do not see it there, hot sync will be disabled and you will keep getting that message (the connection between your device and the desktop could not be established...). To enable the hot sync program once again, click on Start > Programs/All Programs > Palm OS Desktop/Palm One > Hot Sync Manager. It will take about 5-10 seconds and the icon will be there once again. Now the sync should go through.

  • Hot sync says Palm Zire has successfully synced but no data (using Windows 7 32 bit)

We have a Win XP desktop on which an older version of Palm Desktop has been working for years and been able to sync with my Palm Zire and my husband's Palm Z22.  Now that we have to decomission Win XP desktop have installed Palm Desktop by Access v6.2.2 and Hotsync v7.0.2 on Win 7 32bit laptop.
My husband has a Palm Z22 and has had no problems setting up user and syncing using Palm Desktop by Access when using Windows 7.  However, although the Palm Desktop has correctly indentified by device as a Zire and hotsync via cable says it completes successfully no data appears on the Desktop.  In reverse, when I add a new contact on Palm Desktop and sync it does not appear on the handheld.
Have tried downloading and installing driver from:
    http://aceeca.com/support/sales-support/downloads/product/drivers-32-bit-usb-windows-driver-for-palm...
However, when I followed the instructions provided with teh 64 bit download my laptop said I already had most up to date driver!
Please help as I rely on my Zire and need it to back up successfully.

Hello, and Welcome to the HP Support Community!
The Aceeca drivers are ONLY for 64-bit Operating Systems.  Since yours is 32-bit, it's not needed.
Try right-clicking on the shortcut for Palm Desktop, then choose "Run as Administrator".  See if the data appears.
Another suggestion would be to turn off "UAC" or User Access Control.   Control Panel/Users/Turn off UAC.

  • Zire 71 Hot Sync

    Help!!!
My old computer died, and I have a new PC with Windows 7 and 64-bit architecture.
I have installed the Palm OS and copied my data files over to the new PC, and I can run the Palm program on the new PC.
Howerer.........the Hot Sync feature will not work, and I am guessing it must be the move from 32-bit to 64-bit, but I have no idea how to resolve this issue.
    Can anyone help?    [email protected]
    Many thanks in advance.

  • Sync'ing a Palm Zire 72 with Windows 7 (Home Premium 64)

Ok I am probably a dinasour but have relied on my Zire 72 for years for all the contacts and calendar items I don't want to keep on my phone but now cannot get it to sync with Windows 7.  I never used Vista, migrated straight from XP to Windows 7 but have read all the threads on Vista and hot sync'ing.  I know I apprently can't use the direct USB cables as there are no 64 bit drivers from palm for this so I purchased the recommended USB-1510 IRDa adaptor.  Even though Cables Direct does not seem to have Windows 7 drivers, Windows 7 appeared to recognize and accept the Vista 64 drivers and the adaptor seems to be recognized.  I am using Hotsync 4.1.0 and Palm Desktop 4.1.4.  Have tried everything, soft resets of the Palm, reboots of both the computer and palm, reinstallation of the software, etc and cannot get these to sync.  I either get the message that the connection cannot be established or once or twice that the port was being used by another process.
Does anyone have any suggestions before I competely give up.  Many thanks!
    Post relates to: Zire 72

I have hotSync Manager 6.0.1 and while the Zire 72 will NOT sync over the USB cable it will sync over a Bluetooth connection. You need to have a Bluetooth interface either built into the computer or a Bluetooth USB plug in device. Then you have to set up the channel by making both devices visible to other devices once they recognize each other you have to follow the dircetions in Windows 7 for making it a trusted device. After they are trusted devices they will sync over Bluetooth which is slower that using a straigth USB cable but it works.
This is also the way you can sync a Palm LifeDrive and HP Ipaq with SW on Windows 7. Yes I have all three and this was the easiest way so  I could make them sync up suing the same interface. The Lifedrive and HP Ipaq can also sync over WIFI but this was easier for me since all the devices use the same interface, i.e. no remembering special setups.
I am running WIn 7 Home Premium and I am using Palm Desktop Application 4.1.4 for all Palm syncs. I have 2 Zire 72 Palms and 1 Life drive. They all come up in that Palm Desktop Application allwoing me to copy things from one to the other.

  • Hot synced Zire 71 with Windows Vista

I have a Zire 71 and I just bought a Toshiba laptop with Vista 32bit.  I was able to hot-sync the Zire successfully and the files loaded onto the laptop.  But when I looked at the Palm desktop, there was nothing whatsoever.  No data whatsoever.  Nothing.  Obviously the problem is with Vista.
What can I do to get my files to appear on the Palm Desktop? Is it possibly related to the file extensions having a problem with Vista, or is there an add-on to fix this?
    HELP!!!!!!!!
    Many thanks in advance!

It shows that you are trying to install on a "J" drive. You must install on the "C" drive on your PC. Make sure the location is set to the local program drive, usually "C".
