PalmZ22 HotSync error

Error message reads "Some handheld records were not copied to your PC.  Your computer may be full or you may have reached the maximum allowed records on the desktop.  To correct this situation, delete some records and perform a HotSync operation again."
I tried to sync several times, even after unplugging the USB cord and replugging it in, signing out of the computer and shuting it down, all to no avail.  I have no idea why it's stating I may have too many records, when it's showing a total of 1904 records on the desktop and 1907 on the handheld.
I also tried to start the handheld over by pressing that little button on the back, again, to no avail.
What can I do to sync correctly?  HELP!!!!!
Post relates to: Palm Z22

O.K., I figured out how to do that, and I did that.  Now the problem is:
Synchronizing 2 of 12 (with regards to the Datebook) is the message I get and it just stays stuck there.  One time (this is about the 7th time I tried to do this and it keeps getting stuck on synchronizing 2 of 12) it said that I needed to delete some records maybe the computer was too full.  I knew this was not the case, however, I deleted over 50 records and am still getting this same message.  I even tried pushing in that little button on the back of the handheld, again, to no avail.  H.E.L.P!!!!!

You are not the only one having this problem. I have REPEATEDLY tried to bluetooth sync with my new toshiba windows 7
Palm 6.2.2 to no avail. I have tried every bluetooth device they suggest and every "fix" or "solution" that has been offered here and in on line chat with a Palm tech. No dice! I even took my computer and all components to a tech. He worked on it for 5 hours. Every once in a while for no apparent reason it will magically sync, but never consistently. Using 32bit on my husband's computer with Vista, and the docking cradle still works so I have my data. A few others have apparently had success with this problem but I think it is an accident that it works for them when it does. Otherwise it would work for everyone. We have read everything we can find and spent literally hours and hours and hours.
I am now in the process of trying to import/export to Outlook and plan to upgrade to another device like iPhone or blackberry that will sync data with Outlook. My Palm TX also has not been able to successfully sync with that although, as I said earlier, it syncs with Palm Desktop. Good luck with your's.

Hello Winterbeast and welcome to the Palm forums.
Have you tried a soft reset yet on your Palm and a reboot of your PC yet?  I'm not sure if that record can't be read because it appeers to be in use by another process or if it has become corrupted.

  • HotSync error when connecting Palm to foldable keyboard

    Hi,
I've used a foldable keyboard (P10802U) for years and it's worked fine on both my M505 and my T3. I recently it started to give me an error when I try to connect to the keyboard. It tries to launch Hotsync and displays an error that says "The connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again". I've downloaded and installed a new version of the keyboard.prc. That seems to be ineffective. No change.
Can anyone tell me what's going on here? Is this some kind of software collision or has my keyboard suddenly self-destructed while I wasn't looking?
What kind of info do you need from me to make a determination?
Has anyone else had/heard of a similar problem? Is there a solution that doesn't involve a new purchase?
Any help would be appreciated at this point, before I start poking around in the dark and really break something.
    Regards,
    Deadoweyn

    View Solution.

I have experienced the same problem using my foldable keyboard with a Palm Vx: as soon as I place the Palm on the keyboard it prompts a Hotsynch operation (which obviously fails).
I guess the reason for this is that I cannot manage to install the Keyboard Driver on the Palm. Hard to believe, but when I load the driver from the original CD, the .prc file prepares to install onto the device at the next Hotsynch operation. Launching the Hotsynch the Palm device synchronizes all the Data and Applications but at the end (when performing the cleanup) it forces a device reset which hangs the devices.
Thinking about a Driver incompatibility (which would be strange - as I always used the keyboard in the past). I have found on the web alternative (newer) drivers for the keyboard, which do not change the scenario.
The only way to get out of this nightmare is to hard reset the device and re-install the Data and Applications on it, except the Keyboard which seems to be incompatible with the Palm Vx device.
Any idea about why such a funny behaviour ? The only additional piece of information is that I have not used the Palm Vx for many years, causing the battery to discharge completely. Not sure it means something but I cannot simply think of anything else ...

  • 755 Treo HotSync error

I am attempting to HotSync after I had my phone worked on at the Sprint store (replaced keyboard).
"connection setup error (Cnc 1F04)" within "connection setup"
I also receive an error of "unable to initiate HotSync operation because the port is in use by another app."
I did a hard reset, a soft reset and still I get the same error.
I have rebooted both my computer and my phone.  i have tried switching usb ports, I have also tried connecting with bluetooth.  All of which results in the same errors.

Are the errors coming up on the device or on the computer? If it's the device then I would have the device repaired or replaced entirely. If it's on the computer then it sounds like you may need to uninstall and reinstall the Palm software.  Backup you data first!

  • Lifedrive Hotsync error

I can't seem to get my Palm Lifedrive to Hotsync. I get a message at the end that says Hotsync was interupted some of your data was not backed up. And the Lifedrive Manager screen says it's currently performing Hotsync operation but at the bottom it says palmone device not connected. I also get an error 6410 in my log? Also when it's syncing the Lifedrive seems to get stuck on MLibEBD.

HotSync Manager The Notifier file 'C:\PROGRA~1\ANYTIM~1\ATNotify.dll' was not found. Notifers are used by HotSync Manager to inform other applications about synchronizations sessions. Please check your configuration to correct this problem. HotSync Manager is skipping over this file.

If you are able to open the Palm desktop, export your data out. Otherwise locate the user folder C:/Program Files/Palm/*your hotsync username* Then copy the user folder to another location on the PC. Then uninstall the Palm software and delete the Palm folder under Program Files. Then reboot the PC and rinstall.

This is an error related to programs that have been installed on your TX that do not belong there.
Programs like My Palm, or My Treo were not made for the TX, and cause this error.
See if you have either of these installed and if so, Delete them.

I think you got your reply mixed up with what I posted.
I have Windows XP which I enclosed a portion of the HotSync information to show that some has gone through, but I still have error messages.
The primary problem is that there is HotSync Starts using the  Local USB.
There is "No User Name Listed" on the computer for the HotSync.
Hot Sync does show progress on the computer then it goes out.
On the Palm TX HotSync icons are greyed out.
I push on the square center button on the unit, 2 of the HotSync icons then get color, and "Identifying User" came on the screen.
Then there are three icons with color and the statement "Cleaning up please wait"
    Palm Driver File Version 6.0.1
    Palm TX HotSync Version 5.4.8P
Does anyone else know what is going on and how I can fix the HotSync problem?
I need help fast for I am going to go on a trip next month and it has my address info on it for merging.

  • E2 hotsync error message

My tungsten E quit working so I bought a used E2. When I try to hotsync, it begins the process then aborts with the message:Hotsync operation was terminated. Some of your data was NOT backed up. Out of storage space during update of database calculator-aborting sunc.  Any Ideas?

    I have a similar error:
"HotSync operation was terminated. Some of your data was NOT backed up. Out of storage space during update of database CalendarDB-PDat - aborting sync."
The only way I was able to repair it was by manualy uninstalling palm desktop manager and hotsync then reinstalling and setting it up again but then I got the same error again the next day.

  • HotSync error: no card present in SD Card-slot

Tried a regular hotsync on my Palm TX.  Error message would pop up periodically saying Install error: no card present in the SD Card-slot.  Install to Card synchronication failed.  Usually no problem.  Still would sync ALL my data.  Suddenly, the hotsync ERASED MY ENTIRE CALENDAR forever!!  Only thing left is my CONTACTS.  Can I get back my calendar data from a backup somewhere?  How??  Help!
    Post relates to: Palm TX

The two events are most likely unrelated. If you have only synced the time your data was loss then yes you can recover the data. If you synced since then, it's gone. Make sure the Palm desktop is closed. Browse to the folder location. C:/Program Files/Palm/*Hotsync username*/Datebook
Locate the datebook (.dat) file and the datebook.bak file. Rename the datebook (.dat) file to datebook.old and rename the datebook.bak to datebook.dat Then reopened the Palm desktop and see if your data was restored.
If you're using Vista and the newest version of the Palm desktop the process will be slightly different. I'll post those steps if needed.
