Pan And Zoom Overlay Content Generation Error Invalid Asset

I am attempting to create a Pan AND Zoom overlay, I can get the overlay to work if I choose Pan only, but if I choose Pan AND Zoom and then go to preview, I get the following error: "Content Generation Error: Invalid Asset". Any ideas? I am using V17 of the tools, (the latest before todays update)

What image file format are you trying to turn into a Pan-and-Zoom overlay?? I encountered this error last night (I found this thread while searching here for "Invalid Asset"), and determined that it was because I had placed a .PSD file. Once I converted the image to JPG, I got it to work.

  • Content generation error: invalid url for web content overlay

    Hi,
I am having an error message " content generation error: invalid url for web content overlay" when I want to upload the article.
I don't have any link with that article and this is my 1st time having this kind of error. I am using indesign CC
    Please help.
    Thanks,

I’ve found watching the process helpful to narrow down the page.
Working off a duplicate of the file, delete one layer at a time until you figure out what layer the problem is on.
From there it’s a bit easier to narrow down.

  • Content generation error. [Error: invalid asset]

I'm am trying to add an article to a Folio and am getting "Content generation error. [Error: invalid asset]. I have re-imported all of the files in the article. I'm stumped. Anyone have any ideas?

Hm. Might be that the two errors are of a different kind:
[Error: Invalid asset] vs. [Error: Invalid asset location].
I have an error with a simple image I want to use with "Pan and Zoom" ("Schwenken und Zoomen" in my German InDesign CS5.5 v7.5.2 on OSX 10.6.8).
The error message translates to "[Error: Invalid asset]":
After a bit of experimenting I think I know why there was an error.
My first attempt was on an TIFF image (=> ERROR), then I tried with a JPEG version (NO error).
Too bad Overlay Creator cannot detect wrong file formats for the given task.

  • Content generation error ...

"The page size aspect ratio must match the folio aspect ratio." is an error i keep getting, although my file is 1024 px wide. It isn't however 768 px high. It's higher, to create a scrollable page. Is there a minimal / maximal size, are there constraints ?
Also sometimes when i already have a portrait lay-out & want to add the landscape lay-out, InDesign's Folio Builder thinks it's still the portrait lay-out, so he does not add the landscape version, does not seem to see the difference ?!

I'm also having GENERATION ERROR but on the article side of things
    Content generation
[Error: Invalid value for parameter 'portraitDocument' of method 'exportMiniFolio'. Expected Document, but received /Users/christian/Library/Preferences/StageManager.BD092818F67280F4B42B04877600987F0111B59 4.1/Local Store/dmp/City Guide_2011_6_24_8_28_7/WiFi Ad_2011_6_24_8_28_7.folio.]
    Any remedy for this?

  • Make a audio controller file move with a pan and zoom.

I am using a few folio overlays for a digital publication.
I have an image that uses the pan and zoom overlay.
I would like to add several play buttons for audio that are linked to the image so when you pan the image the audio files move with it.
So far I can only get the audio controller file to be static and the image move under it.

Here's a little trick for you. Before creating a scrolling frame, group the
text frame with a small no fill/no stroke frame. Now you have group in the
frame, you can drag additional objects in using the layers panel.

  • Content generation error. [Error: Duplicate overlay IDs are not allowed]

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm creating a hidden navigation menu that has buttons for showing and hiding it. When the menu is on, there are a number of buttons grouped together in one of the states. It works when I preview with the preview tool, but when I try to preview through Folio Builder I get the error message: Content generation error. [Error: Duplicate overlay IDs are not allowed]
All of my multi-state objects have unique names, as do buttons and layers and I still get this error. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Christopher

Attached are screenshots of my layers palette, object states and buttons. I noticed in the layers palette, after I've made the menu into a multi-state object there's a sub-group called "normal" that's showing up in my layers palette. Could this be it?

  • Content generation error. [Error: Invalid operations]

I am getting the following error message while trying to create a dual-orientation folio…
    Content generation error.
    [Error: Invalid operations]
The strange is that the I am creating the folio from the exact same InDesign files I used to create the folio back in March of this year except that in March I was using InDesign CS5 and whatever the current build of DPS tools was at the time. I am now using InDesign CS6 and v21 DPS tools.
I have successfully created single-orientation folios of the horizontal and vertical InDesign files using CS6 and the v21 tools and I have successfully created a simplified “dummy” dual-orientation folio using CS6 and the v21 tools. It’s just when I try to create a dual-orientation folio using those InDesign files that I get the error message.
Is there any way for me to figure out what the “invalid operation” is?

I tried it both ways. First, I tried bringing in the separate _h and _v files. When that didn't work (i.e. generated the error when trying to add the second orientation to the article) I tried the alternate layout method and added them both at the same time. Same error message was generated.
In general though, I'm wondering what an "invalid operation" signals. I've searched for this term but couldn't find anything. Because I'm able to create single orientation folios from the _h and _v files without any problem, that seems to tell me that my files are built correctly. It's only when it tries to combine them in a dual orientation folio that the error occurs.
    Thanks,

  • Using local HTML results in content generation error

I'm trying to place local html that only deals with a column of text and an image in a box and make it scroll. When I place the html file with the Web Content Overlay directly in a frame and Preview on the Desktop Viewer, the frame scrolls perfectly, but won't import into the folio with the Folio Builder. "Content generation error, the folder is invalid for import." I also tried placing the html file in a frame as above, apply Web Content Overlay, and then Pasting Into a Content frame and then using the Scrolling frame Overlay. Works fine on the Desktop Viewer, but Builder won't import the article, same error as above. I could really use help with this! I can't find any instructions other than for YouTube embeds or full page html.

Yes, but one of my clients uses HTML for many things, loves js and wants to provide content that way. I thought you could use any interactive overlay in a scrolling box. I'm also trying to embed a Google map in a scrolling box and not having much luck with that either!

  • Content generation error. Failed to open the InDesign file.

    Hey all -
In importing an article to a folio, I just received this error:
    "Content generation error.
Failed to open the InDesign file. Please confirm the file can be opened in InDesign."
The file is open right now in InDesign. I can close it and reopen it with no errors.
I've tried resaving the article to a new file. No help.
I tried creating a new folio and importing the article there. No help.
All links are good. It's a simple file with images, a scrolling pane, and some buttons that link to other articles.
Anyone else run into this problem? Any solutions?
    Thanks!

    Im getting this error also....?
Want to avoid inporting each artical on at a time. Need to import multiple articals at once.
    Thanks.

  • Pan and zoom effect

    Hi there,
How do you create a pan and zoom effect, like a video effect, on a picture? The technical term I believe is the Ken Burns effect from a still imagery. I know it can be done in Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro but I want to know if it is possible in InDesign (CS6). It tried the overlays option but it only created pan and zoom effect that the viewer needs to scroll. It want it to move by itself.  I hope that makes sense ))
    Thanks.

"Make sure that the container frame is smaller than the image. If the width or height of the frame and image are the same size, the object is treated as scrollable content."

  • Content Generation Error in InDesign

"Content Generation Error" in InDesign-every time I try to preview my document I get the following message:[Error: The assets for one or more overlays could not be located. Verify the assets used are available on disk, then update the article.]. Everything was working fine perfectly just the other day when all I did was preview it in InDesign.  I can't think of anything that I could have done to ruin it.  All my links appear to be fine, and so far I've gone through and stripped most of the document to find the problem but it won't work unless I take out 99 percent of the document.  It seems to have multiple issues and appears to be an entire corrupted document rather than just a few issues with MSOs. The document consists of five pages with vertical and horizontal layouts and I have slideshows, scrollable frames, and multi-state objects but no audio.

That was the first thing I tried because obviously I wanted to find out if it was a problem with my file or a general issue with all uploads to that folio. It seems to be working ok now, although I still have no idea what the problem was and I have never seen that error message before :s
    Thanks for your response.

  • Pan and Zoom not working or publishing. Help!

Did a "paste into" with a text block into a shape.  The Pan and Zoom function is grayed out.  It does show if I paste into with an image, but not text or other shapes, etc.
Also, on my iPad I have the latest content viewer app, but when I publish and download I get a message on my iPad that says I need the latest version.  This only happens on my computers at school.  Anything I published from home works fine.  I also have the pan and zoom function at home.
I have all of the latest versions.  1.9.1, CS5.5.2, and the latest app on the iPad.
I even tried a reformat, install OS, CS5.5, updates then latest producer tools and folio builder and still have had no luck.  Very frustrating. Anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks!

    Hi Bob, wow quick reaction!
I am trying to create a scrollable frame for my iPad presentation.
First created blank frame, then a larger textbox, cut the textbox, pasted it into the smaller frame. When I go to the 'Overlay Creator' and open 'Pannen en zoomen' (Dutch for pan and zoom), all options are grey and not selectable.
I watched many tutorial, all explaining the same, seems so easy, but I guess I'm doing something wrong, or maybe I have an old version.
    See screenshots.
I tried different selections of the containerbox (with open and closed arrow, frame box, container box), but that doesn't seem to make any difference.
I also just downloaded the 'AdobeDigitalPublishingPatch-All' for any updates, but still not working.
    Many thanks in advance!

  • Scrollable Content article gets [Error: Invalid asset location]

I'm trying to create a wide scrollable content product timeline.
The Content  on the "Scrollable Content" layer is 3024x600
Content is grouped text and image boxes
Container frame on Layer 1 is 975x600
Both Content and Containerhave the same name and are aligned along the left edge
When I update the folio I get the following error:
    Content Generation Error
    [Error: Invalid asset location]
Trying to preview in the desktop viewer gets the same error.
Looking at the links tab, there are no missing or flagged files, and all the files exist within the article's links folder.
    What am I missing here?

looks like you are okay on the folio builder panel (first line)
but you are still on version 18 of the producer tools. make sure to have
the latest version of the folio producer tools (separate installer)
    installed. maybe uninstall previous version.

  • How do I use pan and zoom on vertical photographs without editing out most of the photo?

I am trying to make a slide show.  When I have a vertically oriented (portrait) photograph and try to use pan and zoom, the feature eliminates much of the photograph.  It seems the pan and zoom feature only works for horizontally oriented (or landscape) photographs.  Is there a way to use pan and zoom on vertically oriented photographs to capture all or most of the photograph and zoom in from there?

    gtavetian
I decided to use a different strategy to convey the principle. It is most likely that your photos will be 4:3 and you may or may not be taking them into a SD widescreen or HD widescreen project. With all those variables, to get the basic ideas across, I am going to use two models with a generalized scheme.
    For this post....
NTSC DV Standard Project - Portrait Oriented JPG, in this case 2448 x 3264 3:4. Could be any Portrait Oriented JPEG any pixel dimensions. But best plan ahead for what you have and what you would like.
Manually set the project preset to NTSC DV Standard.
File Menu/New/Project and, in the new project dialog, set for NTSC DV Standard.
Before exiting the final dialog in that area, put a check mark next to "Force Selected Project Setting on This Project". Close out of there.
Next go to the Edit Menu/Preferences/General and remove the check mark next to "Default Scale to Frame Size". Close out of the preferences.
In the opened Premiere Elements Expert workspace, use Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets to get your portrait oriented JPG to the beginning of the Timeline. The 2448 x 3264 3:4 will overwhelm the space in the Edit Mode monitor. That is to be expected. The Timeline Indicator is at the beginning of the Timeline @ 00;00;00;00.
    a. Click on the Timeline jpg to select it. With Motion Panel/Scale property (with Constrain Proportions with check mark), you want to scale the image so that the whole is shown within the mode space. You want to see the image's bounding box. See the next screenshot. The bounding box is the white outline around the image. It has handles.
After the scaling to get that look, the important information that you want is on the right in the Motion Panel
    Position values 360.0 and 240.0
    Scale value 14.6%.
The next phase is as before (See post 21 of this thread...but much of that is repeated below and modified for what is being described at this moment)
With Timeline Indicator at the beginning of Video Track 1 (00;00;00;00), go to Tools Menu/Pan and Zoom and click on it to open  the Pan and Zoom workspace.
In the Pan and Zoom workspace, you will see that the feature has created the initial two Focus Frames for you.
Do not do anything to Focus Frame 1 in the bin below the image window.
Click on Focus Frame 2 in the bin below the image window and set the Focus Frame as wanted.
Click on New Frame in the panel to the left of the image window  to create a third Focus Frame which will appear in the bin. Set Focus Frame as wanted.
Click on New Frame in the panel  to the left of the image window to create a fourth Focus Frame which will appear in the bin. Set the Focus Frame as wanted.
Click Done to the Pan and Zoom workspace so that you are back in the Premiere Elements Expert workspace with its Timeline.
    In the Expert workspace,
Move the Timeline Indicator to the last frame of the selected pan and zoom clip 1. In Applied Effects Tab/Applied Effects Palette/Motion Panel expanded, (Toggle Animation should be active at this point), make sure Position settings are 360.0 and 240.0 and Scale = 14.6% (with Constrain Proportions used). Then go to Tools Menu/Freeze Frame and set the freeze frame for 3 seconds and hit Insert in Movie.
Then move the Timeline Indicator to the first frame of the selected pan and zoom clip 1. In Applied Effects Tab/Applied Effects Palette/Motion Panel expanded (Toggle Animation should be active at this point), make sure Position settings are 360.0 and 240.0 and Scale = 14.6% (with Constrain Proportions used). Then go to Tools Menu/Freeze Frame and set the freeze frame for 3 seconds and hit Insert in Movie.
    Render.
The Timeline content sequence from start to finish should be:
Freeze Frame 3 seconds First Frame of pan and zoom clip 1
    Pan and zoom clip 1
Freeze Frame 3 seconds Last Frame of pan and zoom clip 1
Freeze Frame 3 seconds First Frame of pan and zoom clip 2
    Pan and zoom clip 2
Freeze Frame 3 seconds Last Frame of pan and zoom clip 2
A Dissolve/Cross Dissolve Video Transition (1.00 seconds) is placed between end of Freeze Frame  Last Frame of pan and zoom clip 1 and beginning of Freeze Frame 3 First Frame of pan and zoom clip 2.
Additional pan and zoom portrait oriented jpgs to the Timeline would be treated as above.
What was done above can be applied to any photo with any project preset. The basic idea is to
    a. Start with determing the whole picture Position and Scale values as described with the Default Scale to Frame Size option disabled.
    b. Do pan and zoom with Pan and Zoom Tool in its workspace
    c. Return to Premiere Elements workspace to apply your Position and Scale values to the last frame of pan and zoom clip so that the last frame presents in full clip view. Then go to the first frame of the pan and zoom clip, and apply the Position and Scale values to it so that the first frame presents in full clip view.
    d. If you want the whole view to present for more than that one frame, do the freeze frame at each end, with the wanted duration.
    e. Apply emblessments as wanted, such as video transitions, an animated graphic flying through the last scene, etc.
We could take this same clip into a NTSC AVCHD Full HD 1080p30 project and do the same, except the Position and Scale values and the Scale % determined at the beginning and used subsequently will be different than in the NTSC DV Standard project.
Please check out the above and see how you do with it. If problems, please indicate where and we will work through them.
    Thanks.

I would be glad for the opportunity to customize a Premiere Elements 12 answer to your Premiere Elements 12 issue.
But, I want to make sure that we are together on the details. This is my understanding of what you have written. Please review and let me
know if I am misinterpreting anything that you have written.
You have a video created in Windows Movie Maker.
How did you output the video from Windows Movie Maker...wmv or mp4, what was the frame size and frame rate of that export?
Next you import that video into Premiere Elements 12 (can we assume that this is on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit?)
From what you wrote, you have applied a pan and zoom effect to your video in Premiere Elements.
Now you go to export the Premiere Elements 12 Timeline content with your video with the pan and zoom applied.
But, the pan and zoom effect is not seen in playback of the export.
Is all of the above correct so far?
If so....we are going to need some more details from you...
    a. What is the project preset that you or the project are setting to match the properties of the video coming from Movie maker? See Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and the readings for Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Rate, and Pixel Aspect Ratio even if the fields look grayed out.
    b. Are you applying the pan and zoom effect with the Pan and Zoom Tool, fx Effects Presets, or keyframing the Scale (for Zoom) and
Position (for Pan) in the Motion Panel expanded?
    c. What are you selecting as your export in Publish+Share/. Please give details...are you using default settings or customizing the export
setting under the Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab of the preset selected?
I am suspecting some sort of mismatch of your project settings or some problems with working with the Pan and Zoom tool. I need
your answers to help me help you. If I have written anything that you do not understand, please let me know. I will re-write if necessary
so that we are in sync to resolve the issue.
    Thanks.
