Panasonic C210 camera new smtp server problem

I am getting email notification from verizon about switching from old outgoing.verizon.net to new smtp.verizon.net. But my Panasonic C210 camera stopped sending motion detection emails after I switched to the new smtp setting at port 465 as suggested.
I originally used outgoing.verizon.net at port 587 and it worked great.
Does anyone have similar problem?

The setting on my camera for old server outgoing.version.net works just fine. But I am getting email notices 3 times alresady, asking to switch to new server. So I guess verizon is closing down the old server soon.
I've switched to new server smtp.verizon.net on all my other devices with no problem at all, including 3 macs, two iPads and 2 iPhones. The camera is the only device that won't take new recommanded setting.

HT3481 Panasonic TZ40 camera, single video import problem

Connecting my new Panasonic TZ40 camera by cable to my iMac (lion OS- iMovie 11) uploads stills OK but video is a problem, the camera format is AVCHD. A single video uploads 9 separate files - see below - and without the audio sound track.
.MTS .CPI .CPI .MPL .TDT .TID .BDM .BDM .DAT
The .MTS has a big memory (the others are very small) and will play in VLC player I have on my Mac, but without sound. I tried running it through a video convertor software which converts it successfully to AVI without audio, as you would expect because the original has no sound in the .MTS file.
I was aware that Mac did not readily support AVCHD in the past but was assured by the Camera shop that it was now OK - which it plainly is not. Is there an easy workaround without losing the HD quality, or would I be wise to take it back to the camera shop and choose another camera manufacturer that is more compatible with a Mac, if so what make would other members recommend.
My previous camera was a Samsung which recorded AVI files which I uploaded and was able to import into iMovie without any problems.

I have sorted the sound issue, it was an unrelated problem to the Panasonic TZ40 recording.
However, I think there may be a misunderstanding of the importing of the video/movie from the camera. I import the camera stills and video/movies directly into a computer folder through the Adobe Bridge 'Get images from camera' icon. I do not want to import video/movies directly into iMovie as I do not always need to edit them imediatly (if at all sometimes) and I prefer the originals to be in a folder. I have tried settings of 50 and 50i but still get the same results.
I have converted the .MTS file to a .AVI (and other formats) which iMovie successfully opens, but the .MTS file at 100MB is reduced to 50MB in .AVI and others. My concern is that one of the reasons I bought this camera was for its HD1920 video/movie, if the pre edited conversion is going to reduce the quality then the camera does not do what I asked of the seller.
Basically if I cannot make use of the HD1920 facility in this camera then I need another make which will import an HD1920 video/movie in a format that Mac can hold in a folder and iMovie can import at that quality. If anyone has any recommendations I would be glad to hear them.

Apparent SMTP server problem

I thought I had everything I wanted finally running and I've been waiting on a couple of
admin people to check out the Outlook Connector when I happened to attempt mailing
myself again only to have the new message just sit there.
The machine has been basically idle since I restarted everything when mail and calendar
were working fine for me and for the first couple of days the mail logs were clear but
then this started :-

I did the stop-msg but stored and mshttpd (5 instances) needed
SIGKILL (and even then I got "The connection was refused
when attempting to contact serf9.it.usyd.edu.au:2080" x 4)
I have now done a start-msg and have sent a local mail BUT ....
I now have THIRTEEN instances of dispatcher ....

Mail SMTP server problem

My iCloud does not work in Mail in all my apple devices (mobile, Ipad, Mac etc.). It seems that my Apple Mail soft seems to disable my smtp server for outgoing mails (iCloud server, offline). However, I can still receive all incoming mails ...

Have you unchecked the box marked Mail in the iCloud preference pane and then checked it again? If not, please do that now and test.
I've tried what you said, but nothing changes.
I've tried also to sign out completely from iCloud and then sign in. It should rebuild the credentials stored in the Mac, but nothing works.
I post the screen that appears after it fails to send the message.
But on the other hand it works on the iPhone!!! I've unchecked and checked the mail box in the settings and now it works properly!
The problem still persist on the Mac. In other words this is not linked to the iCloud preferences, but on the Mac itself.

New SMTP server testing

Hi Guys
can you help me with the following?-
we have an Exchange migration project, so I will need to make changes on the firewall to allow the emails to be delivered on the new server.
having a different IP address on the new server, I will need to create a new NAT rule and access-lists.
the question is if I use port 25 for the new NAT rule it will remove the existing NAT rule which I dont want as the new mail server is still in the testing phase and I dont want to break the connection.
can you please advise how do I test this new server for email sending without removing old one?
I am using a CISCO881 router.
existing NAT rule is-
ip nat inside source static tcp 192.168.1.50 25 interface FastEthernet4 25
and the new server IP will be 192.168.1.100

what about if I create the new NAT rule with a different external port?
i.e.- ip nat inside source static tcp 192.168.1.100 25 interface FastEthernet4 25230
and then allow the port 25230 on the new server, will that work or I am talking non-sense?

Sending mail with new SMTP server

I recently switched from a tel.internet provider to COMCAST cable.
I want to use my MAIL program, but each time I try to send mail, a box appears on my screen showing my old provider. I then have to click and the mail goes out.
I have reset my COMCAST settings properly. COMCAST says it is a Apple computer setting problem. What steps do I have to take to get my MAIL to work properly?

AIM smtp server problems.

I've had a problem sending emails, for about as long as I've used Mail 2.0.
Everything seems to be set up as AIM instructs you too, but for whatever reason every time I try to send something it pops up a few seconds later with an error message saying that it was unable to send. I've changed my outgroing port from 25 to 587. Then I tried setting it to authenticate by password. So I entered my account name, and put my password in, and now I get a different error.
"CANNOT SEND MESSAGE USING THE SERVER smtp.aim.com
The server response was: CLIENT AUTHENTICATION REQUIRED. USE ESMTP EHLO AND AUTH.

New SMTP server has SSL. One of two Ethernet networked Macs works, the other doesn't. Help!

We changed from Optimum to Verizon FIOS today. We have two Macs connected by Ethernet. The Mini running Mavericks and Thunderbird 24.6 was able to set the outgoing server as smtp.verizon.net on port 465 with connection security SSL/TLS with no authentication and it works fine.
The other Mac is an ancient G4 running 10.3.9 and TB 2.0.23 and it does not accept running without authentication.
With optonline, we ran on port 25 with no authentication.
I tried putting in the user name and pw we entered on verizon.net, and that doesn't work. I tried the user name and pw from our pop mailbox, and that doesn't work. BTW, the incoming mail is working fine on both computers.
What's going on? How do we fix it?

But I don't know what user name and password to enter. When I enter the username and password from my Verizon account on the 2nd linked computer, it does not recognize it. Does it have to be entered on both computers? What do we select on the 1st computer running Mavericks? Normal password? Then do we enter our Verizon username and password?

Outgoing SMTP Server problems

Hi,
I cannot send email from my wireless network, some networks are fine i.e. the apple store, my home, but my work wireless will not let me. Receiving email is fine.
I've connected using an ethernet cable and this does not help either.
I'm currently on port 25 and have checked using passwork for authentication.
Any suggestions?

I can also vouch for the Loa Powertools app. Its pretty cheap for what it lets you do and it delivers every time. I used to have the same problems sending mail and it was so frustrating trying to configure SMTPs for every location. I've really enjoyed using Loa powertools. Worth every cent.

HT1277 Ougoing SMTP server problem

My outgoing SMTP servers in two accounts both come up as "offline" when I try to send an email.. Everything looks OK in the setup menus.

Mail synchro and smtp server problems

I have a permanent problem with using my MB Pro and email client. Instead of icloud email im using some other email adresses and its appear everytime when i come back home (using wifi connection) problems with Mail program. Sometimes appears in a folder to send sent email from two hours before. sometimes the whole program switch all accounts offline and its a big problem to switch it online. Also i can send something but one day after appear a window that this message wasnt send because .... now i have problem with my icloud account. i can see email in advance on my iphone and ipad but on computer in the best way in one hour. Could someone from you help me to solve it? before i have changed my job i was using MS Outlook on this computer and with less failures then this Apple product.

I agree, I think it is a bug. My wife is experiencing the exact same issue on her MacBook after upgrading to Lion.
I submitted Mail feedback tonight to Apple. I hope they get this fixed pronto. My wife prefers Mail to the web interface or using her iPhone for mail. Thanks for explaining the issue.

Smtp-server (outgoing mail) problem on MAIL

Time Warner/road runner technician cannot figure out m youtgoing (smtp) email connection. No way of authenticating the smtp-server.nyc.rr.com. The Apple=software on my new Mac mini is too advanced for TW help site. They told me to solve "smtp-server problem" though MAC mini help site.

what is the smtp server info they have told you to use?
in Mail>preferences>accounts, make sure your TW account is selected in the left hand side of the window, then go to the Account Information tab, then go to the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) option at the bottom of that window, click on it, and go to Edit Server List, what is showing as server name? an if you click on Advanced, what is the server port, is SSL checked, and is authentication set to password, and if so do you have the user name and password entered?

How to Delete SMTP Server on iPhone/Can't Add Additional Servers

How do you delete the primary SMTP server. I'm on 2.2.1 My outgoing mail is not working and I figured since I'm a Mobile Me user I'll change the SMTP setting on the iPhone.
I can't add a new smtp server. I go into account info for my Mobile Me and select SMTP. I can't see how to delete the primary server and when I try to add server I enter smtp.mac.com then my user name and password. I see 3 check marks after I press Save. I says it verified. But it never shows up on the list. I have secondary server but I can't figure out how to delete that one. Its the ATT smtp server cwmx. All that info is ghosted yet it's not on my desktop account.
If synced Mobile Me but nothing changes.
Confused and I can't find any help on Apples website.

Not sure, but I think the iPhone won't let you modify certain email settings of accounts created by syncing to your laptop or PC.
Delete the account on your iPhone and create it again manually (on the phone itself.)
This worked for me.
