Panasonic DVX-100 audio sync tool not showing up in the tools menu
Using FCP 7 in new Mac Pro with a clean install. I following the directions for copying the DVX-100 audio sync file into the proper folder /Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro System Support/Plugins/
The directions say the Offset Audio Sync command should now appear in the Tools menu. It does not.
I have tried trashing preferences - reinstall the Audio Sync Tool - but it still does not show up.
I use the Panasonic Camera and with my earlier editions of FCP I had no problem installing and using
the Audio Sync file.
Anyone have the same problem or know a solution?

I am not sure what's happening with IE9 (no live site) but I had real problems viewing your code in Live View - until I removed the HTML comment marked below. Basically your site was viewable in Design View but as soon a I hit Live view, it disappeared - much like IE9. See if removing the comment solves your issue.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore. -
HT5260 iPhoto Browser option is not showing up in the import menu.

The iPhoto Browser option is not showing up in the drop down import menu in my Aperture 3.4.3. What gives? I want to do some targeted photo imports from my iPhoto 9.4.2.That went away when the two apps started using the same Library. There's no need to import photos from one to the other, just open the Library in the other app.

Could you please check in the Menu, if you have selected Menu type-> All Pages, Selecting Top level pages will hide Child pages from the menu.

Manually synced music not showing up under the artist
When I manually add songs to my iphone 4 from my iTunes library they are not showing up on my phone under when I go to the artist. Oddly, when I search for the song title the song will come up and it plays, and it shows the artist name correctly when it is playing. I updated both iTunes and the phone. I've done a reset. I've deleted the songs in question from the phone and then re-added them, only to have the same problem.
This problem doesn't happen with every song I add, but it always happens to the same songs. When I sync the phone, I can find them in the phone window of iTunes and they're there correctly sorted by artist (and play fine)! These songs are CD imports (not iTunes purchases). I have "manually manage music" on, and iCoud is off.
Thanks!Are they marked as 'Part of a compilation' when you look at the song info on iTunes? This is quite common in some albums like soundtracks. If yes, then you'll probably find them under 'Various Artists' in the Artist section.
You can uncheck the compilation box if you wish, that should do the trick. -
Imported files do not show up in the project menu
When I import files into a new folder I cannot locate them in the project menu. The files do not have a project path. They show up in the "last import" section though. What's wrong?
You cannot import files into an Aperture Folder. Folders hold containers (Folders, Projects, and Albums); they do not hold Images that are not in another container. Projects and Albums hold Images.
Right-click one of the Images shown in the "Last Import" Browser, and select "Show in Project" from the context menu. This should make that Project the active one, and show you which one it is by selecting it on the Library tab of the Inspector. -
Photos are not showing up in the edit menu
When I hit the edit button the photos all show up on the top of the screen but in the box they are not there to edit each individual photo. Please help, I need to edit my photos!
There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). (On iPhoto 11 this option is under the File -> Reveal in Finder.) Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/Library/ Caches...
5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
If none of these help:
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there? -

There is a total of three. I have tried many different ways, but can't get rid of them. They are not bookmarked on Firefox, but in the past there was a person on this computer that used my 'side' of the home computer without authorization. I will try erasing history next, other than that, haven't the slightest idea of how to get rid of them. I don't go to those sites, and want them gone (as does my wife).
A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

I am trying to use the auto audio-sync feature. When I select the video and audio clip to be synced FCPX says its syncing them and then once finished (at 100%) no compound clip is created and the video and audio file do not sync. Any help is appreciated.

When I create a playlist and sync it to my iPhone not all of the songs on the playlist transfer over. All of the songs are there and are playable they just do not show up on the playlist. For example, in itunes on my computer a playlist has over 100 songs, but when I sync my phone, my iphone only shows 60 songs. I can go into my phone and add the missing songs to the playlist, but the next time I sync my phone the songs are gone again.
Wondering if you haven't been bitten by the new "feature" of iOS 5, as was my son. turingtest2 explained it very well in reply to my own query about "missing" songs in playlists.

Importing Hi 8 video through Panasonic DVX 100
Here's my dilemma... I want to capture Hi 8 video. I have hooked up my original Sony Handycam camera as the player - feeding video into my Panasonic DVX 100 through the old school red-yellow-white cables. My Panasonic DVX 100 video out is a Mac Firewire that connects into a firewire 6 port hub which connects into the Mac.
Going through "Capture" on FCE, I can see the Hi 8 video. So I hit play on the Handycam player, then click "Capture Now."
But then I get the following error message "Device must be in VTR mode when Device Control is enabled."
I have the Panasonic in VCR mode (DV output set to "on") and the Handycam in "player" mode.
What am I missing? Thanks for helping out!The solution poses a new problem, one that other people are having as well.. After I capture a clip, I get a warning regarding sample audio rate. According to my easy setup, the DV - NTSC - DV Converter audio rate is 48 kHz for both the sequence and capture.
I can't find an audio rate setting on the Sony Handicam Hi 8 camera, which is the camera that originally recorded the tape.
How can I resolve the error warning? -
Difference?: Offset Audio Sync Tool and Audio Frame Offset Value
Here's my Set-Up:
Editing a project shot film, audio recorded to CD. Xfer'd to DVCProHD with audio synced up. Downconverted capture to DV for editing in powerbook.
Computer: 1.67 ghz PowerBook G4 with 1.5 GB RAM
Final Cut Pro Version: 5.0.4
QuickTime: 7.0.4
OSX: 10.4.4
Editing timebase: 29.97 non-drop
My problem:
I have clips that when played in the viewer are fine and in sync. When cut into the timeline some drift out of sync. If I apply the offset Audio Sync Tool at it's default 2 frames to the master clip and cut it back in it goes back to sync - for a while. Matchframe back to master clip and it's OK. Why is the timeline not holding the setting? Corrupt timeline?
When and how is the Audio Frame Offset (default is 4) found in Systme Settings/Playback Control used? Is there a relationship between it and the Offset Audio Sync Tool?
FWIW: tapes were batched captured - I have master clips that are all about 22 minutes long. I subclipped each take and scene for editing. When I use the offset audio sync tool I apply it to the long Master clips. The problematic Subclips don't seem to be affected if I try to apply just to them.
TIA.Being exported from tower mac, not laptop... we have tried exporting directly from final cut and from quicktime pro... sync is off when played on PCs but seems fine on the mac...we have tried adjusting the frame offset as well... do think it could have anything to do with clicking the box "prepare for internet streaming"
