Panasonic Model TC42PX34X compatibility

Why I can´t acces to my new brand ATV to my Panasonic?
Can I have todo do something in my TV or ATV?

I am trying to get a panasonic VDR-D150GN camcorder to work with imovie HD 6.0.2 on my new macbook. I can get the camcorder icon on my desktop via USB, but it is simply a folder containing 3 files I cannot seem to open in imovie. They are .bup, .ifo, and .fro
Would it help if I bought a firewire cable? Do I need to convert from mpeg2 to mpeg4 format? Help.
Panasonic does not seem to provide much in the way of customer care. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

  • Panasonic SD700 Camcorder compatibility with iMovieHD

I am considering the purchase of a Panasonic SD700 Camcorder not just for the reported image quality but because it has sockets for an external mike and headset. My only remaining doubt is its compatibility with iMovieHD. Is is simply a case of transferring the SD card from the camcorder to my Mac or does the camcorder output have to be converted into an iMovieHD-compatible format? Help would be appreciated. Regards.

There have been a number of responses to my initial query but none seems to address it directly. I have both iMovie 09 and iMovie HD. The Panasonic model in which I am interested is the SD700 which only uses SD cards. I want to buy the most compatible camera possible to use with either of the above applications. I am trying to avoid having to do conversions to another format before I can edit. I am a newcomer to video & camcorders trying to avoid an expensive purchasing error. Further guidance would be appreciated and thanks to those who have contributed so far. Victor

  • Connecting ATV to older 2004 or 2005 Panasonic model TH-42PX20 plasma TV

I have a 2004 or 2005 Panasonic model TH-42PX20 plasma TV that I am trying to use with Apple TV ( 2nd generation). The TV has the HDMI port but cant access the HDMI input mode. The sequence of modes accessible from the TV/VIDEO button should be TV-Component 1- Component 2 - HDMI - Video 1 - Video 2 - Video 3, but I only get TV and Component 1. Any idea how I can access the HDMI input mode to access ATV screen?

Check your TV settings, sometimes there is a feature to bypass certain inputs.

  • Apple Picture Wavy on Panasonic Model PT-W4734X HDTV Projection Monitor TV

Just purchased and installed and tried the Apple TV on my 5 year old Panasonic HDTV. While Apple TV connected and functioned correctly the picture was wavy. Worked with a couple of levels of support over the phone and ended up taking back in to the store to test out the unit. The unit tested okay on a flat panel. The HDMI cable and connection worked perfectly with the cable box on my TV so it appears that there is an incompatibility between Apple TV and the Panasonic TV model. So apparently there are some bugs to be worked out with some models of TVs.

I had the same problem. Apparently it's an issue with going to to a DVI input on your TV. However, glory glory, it has been fixed with the new 4.1 update. Thanks Apple for not letting us down.

  • Panasonic GH-1 compatibility

I like Aperture a lot and want to stick with it. But I also want to buy a Panasonic GH-1, and currently its RAW format isn't supported by Aperture.
Does anyone know when Aperture will be upgraded to work with GH-1 RAWs? And will the compatibility be complete, in the sense that the software would ideally pick up on the tags providing lens data and automatically correct aberrations?

I have the same issues regarding the G-1, but the answer to your question is "no, no-one knows". At least ... no-one who can speak knows.
In the meantime, I am shooting RAW+JPG, importing only the JPG, and processing any decent shots externally using the RAW file in the supplied Silkypix software.

  • TC 3TB Model A1409 compatibility with OS X 10.9.4

I have a TC 3TB model A1409.  I have 2 OS X 10.7.5 machines and 2 OS X 10.9.4 machines.  The 10.7.5 machines back up to the TC fine using Time Machine.  The OS X 10.9.4 have stopped working, wire or wirelessly.  All are on the same network.  What is the issue?  Will a new TC fix it?  Will a new TC work with my 10.7.5 machines?

The older Gen4 TC is perfectly fine with any OS. The problem is Mavericks network is up the creek.
Often a simple reboot will refresh everything.. or a full network restart which should be done in correct order. modem.. TC.. clients with a couple of min for each device to boot between them.
When Apple changed to Mavericks they changed from AFP to SMB as the default network protocol. This I think has led them into a world even more bug filled than in earlier OS.
Please try the following to get your Gen4 working again.
    1. Factory reset.
    The Factory Reset universal
Unplug your TC/AE. Hold in reset. and power the TC/AE back on..  all without releasing reset and keep holding in for about 10sec. The time is not important.. it is the front LED rapid flashing that indicates you are in factory mode.
    Release reset.
If it doesn’t flash rapidly you have released reset at some point and try again.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel..  add no more pressure after that.
TC/AE will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.
    2. Ensure all computers have ipv6 set to link-local only. Eg for wireless
Do the same for ethernet if you use it. IPv6 is now vital to OS to work with the TC.
    3. SMB naming rules are much tighter.. so please use new names when you go through the setup in airport utility.
    eg TC name.. TCgen4
    eg TC wireless name. TCwifi
    4. In Mavericks manually mount the TC disk in finder.
Use Go in the top menu, Connect to Server.
    type in
AFP://TCgen4.local (replace with whatever name you use, local is the default domain and will not change).
OR even better use the TC IP address. You can do this if the TC is the main router or you setup with static IP.
AFP://10.0.1.1 (that is the default IP.. replace with whatever IP your TC is on).
Store the disk password in the keychain. This should help to keep the TC running and available.. although the occasional reboot might still be necessary.

  • Panasonic Lumix FX150 compatibility

after connecting my new Lumix 150 via USB, although the camera said "Connecting with PC" it didn't.
Then I noticed that the battery strength indictor only showed two of its three white segments. Tell me that was the problem and not iPhoto 6 incapable of recognising this only released-in-August '08 Lumix.
Anyhows I'm off to the shops tomorrow and get me a card reader known to be ok for OS4 and up.

Cmera compatibability for JPEGs is the manafactures responsibility - iPhoto works with standard USB camera access - some cameras support mutliple methode - see your camera manaual - it it does you may have to try a different one - my Sony's all work in auto
If you are shooting RAW then there need to be OS compatibility
Try image capture ( in your applications folder) and see if the camera is mounted to the desktop in the finder -- a card reader is a good idea not only for compatibility but for a better and safer workflow

  • Panasonic HDC-SD9 compatibility and workaround

As many know the Panasonic HDC-SD9 is currently not supported by iMovie '08. There is a commercial product available which seems to work smoothly (Voltaic). However I tried to find a solution that works with what I already have. Following a tip by another user that was posted in this forum I used Toast9 to import the .MTS files and then export them as file. Unfortunately the output could not be imported to iMovie '08. I tried several formats but to no avail. Then I tried the same with iMovie HD, and it worked. These are the settings I was using in Toast 9 which seem to produce good results (Apple Intermediate Codec, HDV 1080i, Size: 1920x1080 HD 16:9, Framerate: keep framerate output says 25 however). I was able to import the file in iMovie HD. The project setting I used was "HDV 1080i". For reasons I do not understand it is not possible to import the newly created project directly into iMovie '08 (the project file is empty - clips as well as media area). However if you export from iMovie HD using Quicktime and the same AIC settings as above you will end up with a file you can import into iMovie '08 (if you prefer editing with iMovie '08). Well it is at least a workaround and I have no idea if the settings could be tweaked to get even better results (any ideas?) or of it is possible to use the new progressive 1920x1080p format without significant loss of quality (settings?). Still I, as many others, hope that Apple will support this popular AVCHD device soon.

    Hi,
I am in a similar position however I have managed to get iMovie 08 to download directly with a problem though. The films sample fine however they are shorter (around 50% shorter). ie a piece on the camera plays in say 20 seconds and plays back through the windows software in 20 seconds however when played back through the Apple it takes about 12 seconds (with everything moving faster!!! ie no details lost).
This downloading is very sensitive to settings. I have got this working with HA format for video but you must turn 25P ON and then it works - well sort of. If there is a way of getting the right frame rate then it should work (25 on the laptop aswell).
Being new to Apple what does it usually take to get the software updated to support the latest hardware.
If you create an AVCHD from the Windows software iMovie 08 can also read this directly but does exactly the same thing when it samples the data ie records it to fast!
Hope this helps and would welcome any comments.
    Cheers

  • Panasonic AG-HSC1U compatibility w.FCE/FCP or i movie08 ?

on some reviews of this camcorder it is stated that it works fine.
    true or false?

CLick on UNDERDOG and read my blog. I talk heavily about working with the HVX-200 and intermixing the footage shot with it and the Varicam. It works with FCP rather flawlessly. Many of the features are tied to the P2 card, such at 23.98 24PN...24 real fps opposed to pulldown removal. If you use the firestore HD with this, you cannot use that feature. Also, the firestore breaks your footage into 2GB chunks as it is formatted fat 32, so when the chunks are re-assembled there are small 2-5 frame gaps. A fix is in the works, and this isn't consistant behavior.
The HVX-200 shoots DVCPRO HD, which is a 4:2:2 colorspace as opposed to the JDV HDV format which is 4:2:0. Plus, the HDV format is virtually unkeyable, suffers from motion artifacts when fast motion occurs (most notably the blurring of the objects opposed to nice clean pictures).
I cannot recommend that camera more highly over ANY HDV camera. But mind you, the P2 workflow isn't for every production. There are many instances where I'd suggest the HDV cameras over the HVX because of what is being filmed and the workflow needed.
    What will you be shooting?

  • Panasonic AG-DVX100B -- Compatibility?

A few questions on this product.
First off, the link is here.
    http://www.expresscameras.com/prodetails.asp?prodid=450977&start=1
Second; will that thing work with Final Cut Express?
And third, I'm betting that thing uses little tapes to record everything. How would I get that video content from the tape, onto a MacBook Pro Laptop to use with Final Cut Express?
    That's all.

It's a DV camera. You capture using FireWire. FCE does not work with all of the formats this camera shoots.

  • Panasonic 42" plasma HDMI

Has anyone connected a mini to a plasma with HDMI input?
Does it work, anyone tried a panasonic?
Why do manufacturers like panasonic and sony state that HDMI input is not intended for PC input? Does not intended mean not possible?
    Anyone know?
    Thanks

Dan - the panasonic (in my case testing the one at work) th42px25u will work with the mac mini using the a standard dvi to hdmi cable. If you are experiencing overscan, you can go into the panasonic service menu and adjust the settiings there - it works pretty well to position everything on the screen correctly. The other problem ....being that the VGA port on the front of the plasma displays clearer (test) than using the hdmi port. For this I have not yet found a totally acceptable solution. Using the VGA port displays a crystal clear image (which I believe is (720p). Yet using the hdmi port is not horrible, but is certainly not as clear as the vga port. I've tried researching the solution "to death" and i cannot seem to find anyone who knows enough about video in general or about the panasonic model specicially to be of any great assistance. Display Config X and Switchres yield only minor positive gains. I know this is possible because other people have reported success in connecting via hdmi - so I really don't know what I could be doing wrong. Incidentally, its the same problem when connect a Windows PC to the unit....and the unit is not defective in any way. Can anyone shed any light on this??

  • Two issues getting a headless error form windows & my clips audio plays in the preview but not once placed in th timeline. I taped with a panasonic HC 750 V. i believe it is with clips filmed using directed not surround audio.

The title more or less says it all. I have Elements 13 & am Using the Panasonic HC 750V. I shot in AVCHD 1080/60p & instead of surround sound choose the directed feature to focus on the voices in front of me. The audio works in preview but not on the timeline. I am also getting Headless errors when working with premiere that pop up in windows but it does not shut down the system.
    Any help apprecaited.

    pc
Have you updated your Premiere Elements 13 to 13.1 using an opened project's Help Menu/Update. If not, please do so.
Just some points of clarification on the AVCHD 1080/60p with which you are having audio problem in Premiere Elements 13.
    a. I see no option to record to tape with your Panasonic model. Is there one? if not, what was recorded to, a memory card?
    b. When you talk about directed not surround audio, are you saying that your video uses Dolby Digital 2 channel stereo instead of 5.1 channel?
    c. Is your AVCHD footage presented to you as AVCHD.mts rather than AVCHD.mp4. I think that is the case if you are referring to Dolby Digital
    rather than AAC audio.
Are you saying that you get play back video and audio if you double click the video's thumbnail in Project Assets, but you get video but no audio after you drag the file to the Timeline and play back its contents in the Edit area monitor?
    a. Have you checked the Volume control under the Adjust Tab/Adjustments Palette/Volume Panel expanded to make sure the Volume has been taken all the way down? Under that condition, you will get play back in the Preview Window, but no audio from the Timeline level play back in the Edit area monitor.
    b. In that same regard, if you look at the Timeline audio clip, note a yellow orange line that runs horizontally across the duration of the audio clip. Is that at the bottom of the frame or is it in the middle or at the top?
Do you work with the Elements Organizer at all? That Headess issue sounds like an Elements Organizer issue. More on that later. That issue should not prevent you from continuing your work. But we will explore that next.
    Thanks.

  • Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50 RAW

Anyone know the right hack to the raw.plist file, and how to apply it properly in order to get FZ50's RAW files to work with Aperture?
I've tried what I found for the LX1 and what I've learned of making other cameras work. But, the closest I've come is to get my pictures to open and look HORRIBLY distorted.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

It doesn't matter where, but I'd recommend putting it near the entry you're using. So, for example:
    <key>Panasonic-DMC-FZ50</key> <string>Panasonic-DMC-LC1</string> <!-- map DMC-FZ50 to DMC-LC1 -->
Put that right above the DMC-LC1, for example (just like the Leica Digilux 2 entry is). The format of the key entry is "Camera Make"-"Camera Model" from the EXIF.
Also note the color adjustment info won't match up exactly for your camera, so you might want to try the different supported Panasonic models to see what looks best (before the 10.4.9 update the LC1 was the only model supported).
And finally, make sure and backup your Raw.plist in case something goes horribly wrong.
