Panasonic network cameras no longer respond appropriately

I am running 6 Panasonic wireless network cameras. 2 at this location attached to home network, and 4 at remote locations. Although the sound has never worked with Firefox, all other actions have worked perfectly until recently when the remote locations ceased to respond to motion commands. (The two on my home network continue to work normally) . If I switch to Internet Explorer, all work appropriately but I prefer to use Firefox if I can get them to work again. The cameras are Panasonic BL-C131A and Panasonic BL-C230A. I have tried disabling plugins etc but no help. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Additional information:
I am looking at the same image at a remote location through two browser windows - Firefox and Internet Explorer. The images are being up dated on both with MJPEG - settings on both browsers the same. The Internet Explorer image updates in real time appropriately, but the Firefox does not. So it appears to be that for some reason, the MJPEG is not updating in Firefox at the remote location (it works on home network). This is a recent onset since all worked a month or so ago. Thanks.

  • Panasonic network cameras no longer work with new versions of Firefox.

I have been viewing my Panasonic Network camera, model BB-HCM381A using Firefox for several years.
Starting with Firefox version 15.0.1 and again with 16.0.1, 16.0.2 and 17.0.1 the browser begins to display the streaming video, but then drops the signal after maybe 20 seconds. Refreshing the page brings back the image for another 20 seconds, and then drops it again.
All previous versions of Firefox before version 15.0.1 worked great. Now I have to use Internet Explorer exclusively. It would be great if you could fix the problem.
Example of viewing the streaming video can be found at www.bandon.tv, which may require installing a plug-in from Panasonic.

I see the same happen, but it takes longer. It is possible that the server gets too many visitors and drops some of them. A right click and "This Frame > Reload This Frame" also works. I also notice that frames get blocked (it skips seconds), so you may need a faster server.

  • WRTP54G (wireless router with phone hookup) with Panasonic network camera BL-C30A (WEP only)

    hi
I would like to use this wireless router with WEP so I can access the camera wirelessly (camera only does WEP encryption).
The camera should be the only device allowed to connect to this router wirelessly.
I can dedicate channel 11 so only this wireless router uses it
I know WEP can be cracked but I'm thinking maybe I can setup the router so it doesn't matter, i.e.,
so only the camera can be accessed through this particular router
    so my questions are:
    1. can I setup the router so only outgoing local LAN http requests are allowed?
    2. any other suggestions on router setup that will prevent access to my network?
(using MAC address filtering (for camera mac address only) is worth doing but I guess MAC address can be spoofed so not a complete solution)
    thanks,
    Tom

  • Camera no longer responds on my 24"iMac...why?

I have a 24" imac that has worked beyon my expectations for a few years now. Now a week  after going to lion, face time and photo booth tell me "there is no connected camera".  They both used to work.  Do cameras fail? or...could I have changed the setting somehow???

    Try a reset:
Hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. No data will be lost.

  • Network cameras struggle to update video

I updated Safari to 6.0 a couple of nights ago...  I have four house security cameras (panasonic network cameras).  I have occasion to move one or more of them quite often so what I discovered tonight is very new, I am guessing since I updated Safari...  At first I thought the camera motor signals were messed up but now I've discovered the video update from any and all of the four cameras freezes often but only on Safari...  Firefox on the mac works fine and IE over on Windows 7 running under VMware Fusion works fine also...  In fact, I move a camera from Safari...  I see no change...  But I flip over and look at Firefox and the camera has clearly moved...
All the controls on Safari seem to be working fine including commanding the camera motors to move...  But it's the video feed from the camera to Safari that is messed up...  Any ideas why???  Is anyone else having similar problems with video cameras with the new version 6 of Safari???
Also, I just upgraded to OS X 10.8 last night but since Firefox still works fine with these cameras, I would guess the issue was with the Safari upgrade that I need the night before I upgraded to 10.8...  Thoughts????
    thanks... bob...

Thanks Jim, always appreciate your quick replies.
I still need a little help.
From the linked document, it would appear that the CPU is more likely to be the problem than the video card.  They speak of "video configuration."  What do the mean by that?
On the other hand, the forum is full of discussion about video cards and the need for an appropriate one.
One more question. When the video freezes on playback, if I wait for a minute or so, it restarts.  What is happening during this minute?  (Cleaning the cache doesn't change anything).
    Thanks again.

  • Network camera help

I have a Panasonic network camera. I knew when I bought it that the install cd would not work on my Mac. But I did alot of research and found many people that were able to "easily" set up this camera. People referenced how helpful the Panasonic call center was. I did send an e-mail to panasonic and received a reply back, but their suggestions did not work. I then reached out to the call center, and was told that the info I received in the e mail was wrong. They tried to help me, but they do not have any info on the Time capsule whcih woud allow them to assist me.
Does anyone know how I can set this camera up on my iMac?
It's not a life and death situation, but for me it's important; as I will be getting a new puppy next weekend and I want to be able to see him when I go back to work.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Shelley

Linc thanks. I did check out your link; maybe I just need to borrow someone's PC. So just for the record, my camera is a Panasonic BL-C230.
I guess a second question may be better.
The call center at Panasonic said I just need to locate in my router and identify the IP address that it finds for the camera. They said to locate the DHCP client, and it will show me the IP address of my camera whcih is hooked up to my Time Capsule.  I am using a my Time Capsule as my router, and not my ATT router, having the ATT router only as the modem.
Can anyone describe to me how to see the IP address of my camera within my router settings?
    Thanks,
    Shelley

  • No sound in OSX for Panasonic BL-C131A Network Camera

I successfully installed a Panasonic BL-C131A Network Camera on my network and can view it on my iPhone or over an internet connection in Safari or Firefox. The only trouble is that I cannot hear the sound output while streaming video from the camera on my iPhone or a compatible OSX browser. The cameras sound codec is apparently not supported in OSX. I have Windows XP running on an iMac using Bootcamp and the sound comes through loud and clear in IE. Is this a problem on Panasonic's end or is it just that Apple refuses to support this product? This would be a really cool camera were it not for the lack of audio on my iPhone and Safari. This is a wireless network camera and can be placed anywhere to remotely monitor my home. it can be remotely tilted, up and down, and left and right and zoomed in and out. But the sound just does not work in OSX! Any suggestions?

The cameras are designed around Microsoft and Internet Explorer. You will not get audio, MPEG-4 video and audible alerts with Firefox and Safari.
In addition, this affects phone viewing. Different phones use different and sometimes proprietary browsers. Not all can view the actual camera page from their phone like the iPhone which uses Safari.
There is a /mobile that can be added to the end of your Viewnetcam.com address and even then depending on the browser software - that may not work. With this one there is no live stream and updating the image is done manually.

I tried with socket connection to connect to inbuilt server of the network camera, but no success

    Hi,
Back in the day you could use an Add-on called iUSBCam for iChat (and other apps)
This had a camera guide as many people started off using USB cameras rather than the Firewire iSight.
Many linked to Drivers at Macam
The other popular one was the IOXperts site that no longer seems to be there.

  • Trouble connecting to remote Panasonic IP cams w/ iPhone- port issues

Cannot connect remotely to camera DVR with the iPhone due to Java Applet issues not supported by Apple. I also cannot connect to the home panasonic IP cameras because the error "Not allowed to use restricted network port" appears. In order to connect to the cameras remotely I must enter the port number after the local IP address, and is not allowing me to do that. Any expert out there? Example of a connecting address: http;// 95.242.228.177:80 (80 being the port).

Are you using a specific application to connect or trying to go through Safari?
You may need to use an app that connects to IP cameras.
You can search the app store and search "video camera" or "webcam"

  • Safari no longer responding because of script message on the webpage

This just started this morning but I'm getting this message on every site, including apple.com, that I go to.  Is anyone aware of a fix?  Im running safari 5.0.6 and osx 10.5.8.
Safari is no longer responding because of a script on the webpage “Start New Discussion : Apple Support Communities” (https://discussions.apple.com/community/mac_os/question-post!input.jspa?containe rType=14&container=2131&fromWidget=true&question=Safari%20no%20longer%20respondi ng%20because%20of%20script%20message%20on%20the%20webpage). Do you want to stop running the script, or let it continue?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in Mac OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • SAP "no longer responding"

I have a user at a client's site whose system keeps on freezing. She gets the message that SAP is No Longer Responding. What could be the cause for this. We just finished changing her computer to a new one which has 3 gigs RAM with a P4 processor and a new NIC. We had a network guy in last week and he did not find anything wrong with the connection between her machine and the server (they are running in a LAN configuration)
    Richard.

    Hi Richard
Any special anti-virus or firewall software installed? Check port blocking, etc. Go to task manager and check while SAP Business One is running what the CPU usage is as well as memory. Should be around 100MB or less. Check that SQL native client is installed and also try installing MDAC 2.8 or higher, .Net framework 2.0 (preferably SP2). Are there any add-ons that have not yet been installed on the client machine?
Let me know if this solves the problem or not.
    Kind regards
    Peter Juby

  • Airport no longer responding

    Hello,
My wireless router is no longer responding. I tried connecting the ethernet cord directly to the computer, and it works, so I know the modem and the ethernet cord are the problem. I tried resetting Airport, by pressing the reset button for 10 secs. When I do this, the light eventually turns and stays a steady green. Even though this is so, I am still unable to connect. Under the list of networks, my network name is no longer showing. I tried deleting the name under system preferences/ networks and re-adding it, but that does not work either. The IP address no longer shows either. Any help would be useful.
    Thanks,
    Lauren

    Welcome to the discussions!
+so I know the modem and the ethernet cord are the problem.+
I think you probably meant to say that +the modem and ethernet cable are not the problem.+
Can you clarify if you connected the ethernet cable from the modem directly to your computer, or did you connect an ethernet cable from one of the LAN <-> ports on the AirPort Extreme to your computer?
Sorry for all the questions. I'm trying to understand if ethernet on the AirPort Extreme is working and wireless is not, or both ethernet and wireless are not working.
If you did not try connecting an ethernet cable from one of the LAN ports on the AirPort Extreme directly to your computer (and turning wireless off on the computer) to see if you could get an internet connection that way, could you try this and report back? Here I am assuming that you have an extra ethernet cable handy, but that may not be the case.

I would just explain that this just started happening, that nothing has changed on the phone, that it is an original iPhone and I wondered if they are implementing a change in coverage with their Edge network in my area.
If you restore your phone, you will be given an option to back up your phone at the beginning of the process (see step 6 here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414).  You will be given the option to restore to that backup at the end of the restore process.  Your messages are stored in the backup so restoring to the backup will return the messages to your phone.  Be sure to import your photos and videos to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083) and back up your contacts somewhere before restoring your phone as these sometimesget lost in the restore process.
