Panasonic NV-GS500 (or equivalent) - users please respond

I know this isn't a video camera discussion forum, but this question relates to the old 12 bit vs 16 bit sound issue.
The Panasonic NV-GS500 seems to default to 12-bit sound when you turn it off (even after you've changed it in the settings) - can you actually make it STAY on 16-bit sound???

I am unable to dial India toll free numbers from my iphone, these numbers are like 1800-***-1515. There is nothing as dial assist in Ios7.1.1 which i can disable and dial in india toll free numbers.Please respond if anyone has any solution
Check this post, the dial assist is part of the iOS 7.1, according to page 49 of the iphone_user_guide
Make calls to your contacts and favorites while traveling abroad. (GSM) Go to Settings > Phone and turn on Dial Assist. Dial Assist automatically adds the prefix or country code for calls to the U.S.
This user had a similar problem and solved it by switching off the dial assist feature in Settings/Phone/Dial Assist

If you did not set up find my iPhone on the iPod, you can't find it.

I synced my ipad to my itunes store on my computer and a bar showed up on the bottom of the screen showing how many gigabytes i was using. Now i cant click on the screen to move the app from itunes to my ipad for some reason, or my movies/ music for that matter either. The real reason i am doing this is because i accidently erased the app store and dont want to erase all the apps i already have on their. So if someone can help me get the app store or fix the syncing problem that would be great because i use it for school which requires certain app be installed. Please respond quickly!

As the title says, this is a brand new iPod touch bought from a store, I plugged it in a commenced the "setting up" process through iTunes on may iMac. It got to the stage where it said allow this computer to access the device (or something along those lines), i clicked yes, and then a message came up "to allow access, please respond on your iPod touch. however the ipod screen is black, and pressing the buttons doesn't work. How can i fix this? or do I need to return it?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I am about to click the "order" button for the Panasonic PV-GS500, (Standard Def, MiniDV, FireWire) and I just have to make positively sure that it will work with my copy of Final Cut Pro 4.5.

--PeterIt's not on the list of qualified devices. (NOTE: I couldn't find a list for FCP4.5, this is for FCP5.1) This doesn't necessarily mean it won't work, but you run a risk.

When you state Standard Def, are you referring to the SD Memory Card slot the cameras specs with? Are you sure you know what that is?

Is the Panasonic PV-GS500 compatible with the HD express software. I've heard it will work with the MAC and it has a firewire, but will it work with the HD express software?

SheilaI'm new to Apple and FCP and I understand your frustration. (Been over in the MS/UNIX world for 21+ years) When I decided to get FCE, I did quite a bit of research, found and read the FCP/FCE forums and choose a Sony MiniDV camcorder based on the experiences others had with simular Sony products. I bought it from a reputable store that I could return it to if it wouldn't talk to FC.
Keep in mind with your tire anology that there are Federal laws governing compliance with specifications for tires. There are no laws govering FW implementations. The biggest issue is usually the camcorder manufacturer, not Apple. Apple has no control over how camcorder manufacturers implement the Firewire standards. Canon is notorious for poor FW implementations while Sony and Panasonic seem to get it right most of the time.
Printers are another story entirely. Almost everyone with a computer uses a printer. Apple knows this and therefore expends more resources to test compatability for the wider audience.
Prosumer Digital cameras are relatively easy. They use USB and flash memory cards for data transfer. They don't use FW to control a camera or deck. The don't have to worry about mutiple data streams for video and audio or about codecs and frame rate. They just transfer files.
If you're talking about professional cameras like Haselblad, there are specific capture software packages made by other (PhaseOne comes to mind) companies that take care of the transfer and testing compatability.
Ian is right, FC is a very specialized area in the larger general use computing scope, so it unforunately gets less resources for things like compatability testing.
Personally I'd rather Apple stick to making better computers (like the MacPro and MacBooks) and keep spending the money on developing and testing better versions of FC.

File Manager Pro.....Advice from other users please
I uploaded much of my music collection to Skydrive in anticipation of iPad ownership.
I planned to hold a small selection on the device and refresh/replace albums from Skydrive whilst on my travels using Hotel WiFi.
I have discovered that even using the "Skydrive App" one can only stream such media content, not download it.
Enter "File Manager Pro".
...This promised to be the answer to a maiden's prayer.
...alas, no.
Though I can now download music using the App, it remains imprisoned within the application, only being playable on the "One Shot" rudimentary in-built player.
Does anyone know of a way to transfer these music files to the iPad library where I could then access them from the iPad player?

If you are seeing Save to Remote Server, then your site is
not properly
defined. It should be defined as an FTP site, NOT as an FTP
and RDS Server
site (unless you REALLY know what you are doing).

IPhone 5 screen is black, when I connect to ITunes it says "to allow access please respond to your Iphone". Impossible with a black screen, does anyone know what the prompt is?

Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like the display has a dark screen. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.
iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
Display has no backlight or dark screen
Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.
If the low-battery screen appears, charge the iPhone.

Podcast plays on itunes but wont transfer to Ipod
