Pandora app - iPhone 4 - docking - "no volume available"

My pandora app on my iPhone 4 worked fine last week when I would dock it into my Sony alarm clock. now- when I dock- I am receiving a "no volume available" message on my phone & the sound stops.

hmm.. My phone always says "no volume avaliable" when i have it connected to exterior speakers (using the 30 pin music connector) but volume always works.. its just not adjustable. are you sure your speakers havent broken?

Blind user with an iPhone 5S with iOS 7.1 updated, have the Pandora app installed, and playing streaming music from the phone. My problem is that , while the Airplay icon is visible to a sighted person holding my phone, when I attempt to activate the Airplay icon - while using Voiceover - the phone doesn't seem to be able to "see" the Airplay icon, thus won't allow me to activate it. I have tried both methods of finding/accessing the Airplay icon, via the ""pushing up" of the volume bar, as well as trying to go tot he app-switcher and doing a left-to-right swipe x2 to get to the icon without positive result. The above worked just fine in my old iPhone 4S and iOS 6.X. So, what has changed, and what should I be doing differently? Thanks!

Yes, under the Settings menu of my AppleTV, I have gone into AirPlay sub-menu and the AirPlay selection shows "ON", Onscreen Code is set to "OFF" and no Password is set up.
I also have a Tick against the AppleTV listed under Speakers.
Is there anything else I should do to enable AirPlay on the AppleTV or my iPhone?

Audio stopped working only getting 'dock connector'/ 'no volume available messages

Last week, my iPad2 suddenly stopped producing external sound e.g. radio with the message of 'no volume available' coming up. Switching to the iPod app, the mesage of 'dock connector' appears.
I can hear everything if I insert my headphones but this is not practical for me as I move about the house/ workstation.
I am presently overseas and I've already run through every suggestion from Apple's Help line experts with no fix.
From review other message boards, this seems to be a growing probblem. Any advice from anyone?

Solution discovered: The iPad had not been properly ejected when last docked to my laptop. Please ensure that you get the 'Eject' prompt when you right-click. If you do not, try to eject via iTunes programme on PC/ laptop. If 'Eject' prompt is still not present, take out Apple USB and re-insert into the PC dock (or another USB dock location on the computer) as it is not being recognised by iTunes or PC/ laptop. 'Eject' command should then appear and you then click on it. Voila!

To start troubleshooting this issue where you are unable to adjust the volume after receiving a call, please go ahead and first force close all of the apps currently running on the device, and then reset it by following the steps in the articles below.

The genuine Apple adapter works for me, most cheap knockoffs do not support sound ,it is usually in the micro print at bottom of the ebay offerring
It is pricey by comparison but it works and the knock offs usually don't pay the patent licence fee hence they guess the technology that is in the lightning plug
and charge a minimal price

So what that means is when you have Do Not Disturb turned on, you may have an alert depending on the setting and how you are using your iPhone. So if it is set to Always, then that means that no matter what, your iPhone will not be notified. If it set to Only while the iPhone is locked, then that means that you will not get notification when your iPhone is locked but you will get notifications if your iPhone is being used. Also keep in mind the settings All Calls From can be set to certain contacts like Favorites, Everyone or no one. If you are using Do Not Disturb and you do not need it, then turn it off.

I'm trying to set up my Pandora App on my IPhone 4S. When I register it says: "An account already exists with that e-mail address" That is because it is set up also on my computer. It doesn't tell me what to do otherwise. I don't like using all different e-mails.

Use the same email and password as on your computer. Don't try to set up a new account. I use Pandora on my computer, both phones and my iPad.

While I am in no way trying to rain on the parade, I'd like to recommend foregoing the actual "Pandora" app, in favor of the "MetroRadio Pro". It is a definite alternative to the still-skip-limited app from Pandora.
I believe it to be the best app for listening to Pandora. Not only does it have a very nice gui, but it has unlimited skipping, AND is ad-free!

'No Volume Available' but headphones work

Weird problem just cropped up today on my iPhone 4 (no longer under warranty). If I try to play the Music app, Pandora, YouTube and many other sound apps I can't hear the audio over the speaker and on some apps a message appears saying 'No Volume Available' on the screen. It has this message in Pandora, in YouTube and the music app just don't have the volume slider.
If I plug in headphones all work normally.
If I use the Phone app, or Talkatone I can hear the audio via the earpiece and I can switch it to the speaker. So I know the speaker system works as some apps detect the speaker and can route audio through there. Skype on the other hand works via speakerphone but not via the earpiece. Key-clicks and lock sounds don't work via the speaker.
I've reset the iPhone a few times, 2x via holding down the power key and shutting it down then restarting with the Apple logo and once forcing a shutdown via power+home buttons.
I've restored the iPhone, I'm running iOS 5.0.1, bluetooth is off, mute switch on the side is on (I've switched it both on and off, didn't do anything). I've tried plugging/unplugging in headphones to see if debris or something would be knocked loose but that didn't work. Plugging/unplugging dock connector several times didn't work either.
I'm wondering if an app I tired did something weird electrically? I had a headphone jack plugged-in and ran the TASCAM recording app to try and record something. Had a tough time figuring it out and it was while I was trying it that the problem seemed to occur as I couldn't hear anything recorded via the app.
I've since removed the app and done all of the above to no avail. I'm going to try another restore. And don't suggest I just go to an Apple Store, the nearest one is a few hundred miles away on another island.

I went to an Apple Store and let a 'Genius' check it out. First thing he says is that the water damage indicator was activated in the bottom dock connector. I've never dropped my iPhone 4 in water though I probably do live in one heck of a humid place so maybe that's why it activated. He had opened it up and I asked him if there was any indication at all if there was water damage in the iPhone and he said 'no.'
I let him wipe the phone since I had it backed-up via iTunes. Then it started to work and thought we had it fixed but then all of a sudden it stopped producing sound again. This is with no extra apps loaded on it and right there at the Genius Bar with the Genius there. He operated the controls and was just stumped.
He said because it was out of warranty I could get a replacement one there at Apple for (I forget) something like $149, or I could wait a few week when I can get an early upgrade to an iPhone 4S for $199 (that would only be for the 16GB model, mine is a 32GB iPhone 4).
So yeah, the Genius couldn't figure it out. The phone's sound continues to have this problem along with the problem, which I hear many people have, of the home button being disfunctional at times. The iPhone 4 is a flawed design in so many ways: Antenna, Home Button, Audio System, Lower Battery life with iOS 5.

IPad Pandora app won't play to Apple TV

My daughter's iPhone Pandora app will connect and play on our Apple TV but I cannot get the Pandora app on my iPad to play on the same apple TV. What am I missing

Thanks for the help. In the mean time I have figured out how to get it to switch from internal (iPad) speakers to the AppleTV. The problem was that the Pandora app when started does not have a volume control, where you would normally find the toggle button to switch where output goes to. If you use the power button to get it to go dormant (not powered off) and then double click the selection button to wake the iPad back up the Pandora item that is playing comes up in a screen that actually has a volume control. Right next to the volume control is the little arrow button that you can push to get it to switch to Apple TV.

Issues with iPhone 4 dock

Just received the iPhone 4 dock in the mail with the component a/v cables. I plugged in the component cables into my TV, and the USB cable into a power adapter.
When I put the phone in the dock, the charger icon appears which is a good sign, however I'm unable to see or hear anything on my TV.
To troubleshoot, I tried plugging the A/V cables directly into the phone bypassing the dock, and I was able to see youtube and ipod videos on my TV no problem.
I'm curious if anyone else is having this issue as well. Otherwise I'll have to RMA the dock, as I got transferred through AppleCare several times before being told there's no official support channel for accessories.

Guys I had the same problem - I'm still using iphone 4S and quiet ringtones are annoying me - were annoying me.
I have found a way of solving this problem - as usual google helps. among countless pages offering same advice as above - which doesn't really do much - I have found out that any sound san be amplified using software called Audacity. As of today it is free to download and use.
So:
1. Download a song or ringtone u want.
2. open it in Audacity, ctrl + a to senect it all, then click on 'Effect' and choose 'amplify'
3. Small window appears and there just click ok (or preview first if u want). dont move the slider as 'ok' button will gray out (don't know why).
4. Now your sound is amplified and u can export it (file - export) - don't just save as this will be useless in itunes. u must export it to mp3 or sth usefull. If u choose mp3 then maybe u need to download a .dll file - audacity will tell u if u need it - a small window will pop up with a button to download it - do it, install it and browse to the newly installed file (.dll)
5. Now u need to add ur ringtone to iphone. Drag ur amplified tune into itunes, right click it and choose 'get info'
6. Select beginning and end time for your ringtone (options tab). u can also move volume adjustment slider up but I'm not sure if it makes any difference.
7.click 'ok. Now selest ur tune again, right click and create AAC version. New AAC file will appear below or above ur amplified tune in itunes.
8. Drag ur AAC file out of itunes on your desktop, and change extension of ur ringtone from .m4a to .m4r (if u can't see extension then google how to make extensions visible in windows.
9. now drag ur .m4r tone back into itunes into 'tones' section.
10. sync ur phone and ur done
