Pandora periodically freezes using Bluetooth

When accessing Pandora using either my iPad 2 or iPhone 4S and connected to a Bluetooth speaker, the music periodically freezes.  When playing iTunes from these same devices to the same speaker via Bluetooth, everything works great.  Additionally, when playing Pandora without Bluetooth from these same devices also works fine.  Thoughts?

  • I cannot connect my I pad mini and iPhone using Bluetooth.

I cannot connect my I pad mini and iPhone using Bluetooth.

I'm not sure what made you think that that was not what Regal trail was asking... I am having the same problem and wish that that question had been answered! I believe I've gone through the same steps that used to work, to no avail now. But I'm betting that you (Chris) have the answer to this!
In a nutshell: I'm trying to share my iPhone's cellular connection with my WiFi-only iPad Mini, using a Bluetooth connection. I used to do this regularly, but went for a period of time without the need for it, and so am hard pressed now to identify which thing that might have changed during the interim would have made it no longer work.
iPhone is connected to internet via cellular data (AT&T LTE). Bluetooth is on. Personal Hotspot is on.
On iPad, Bluetooth is on. My iPhone shows up in the list under My Devices, and I can select it, and it will connect for approximately 5 seconds. The shared connection icon shows up on the iPad. The iPhone (on the Bluetooth screen) shows, for those 5 seconds, that the iPad is connected, but the shared connection status bar never shows up on the iPhone.
    After 5 seconds, it disconnects.
Thoughts? Need more info? Let me know! Thanks.

  • Unable to use Bluetooth using Windows 8.1

    Hi,
    I have a Lenovo G500s. Recently I upgrated to windows 8.1.
    I have problems using Bluetooth.
    Can someone help please?
    The details are:
Intel Centrino Wireless Bluetooth 4.0 + High Speed Adapter
    Driver : 3.1.1309.386 Date: 15/9/13
    Thanks in advance

    Hello,
I have problems with my bluetooth. Similar problem as in the posts below:
    http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-3000-and-Essential/G500-LAPTOP-BLUETOOTH-PROBLEM/td-p/1389679
I have the same laptop: g500s.
The topic starter gave up his effort to make it work again. I have tried the following things myself:
    - Reinstalled / Uninstalled drivers for bluetooth (the atheros and intel from the official website).
    - Repair option in Windows
    - Using automatic update after uninstallation
    - Doing a manually update
Problem is that there are only drivers for windows 8 and not for windows 8.1. :
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_NL/downloads/default.page?
I can't configure my bluetooth because whenever I trie to open bluetooth adjustment menu (I don't know the english variant because I use the dutch version) I automatically go to the PC adjustments/configuration. When I press on bluetooth in the left menu it freezes.
    Is this unfixable or something?

  • Periodic freeze (but doesn't crash) on T430 Windows 7 x64

Hi, I am recently experiencing periodic freeze on my T430 which is only a month and a half old. When it freeze, the screen doesn't change, moving the mouse doesn't change anything instantly, the hard disk light is kept on (which indicates something is accessing the hard disk heavily). The situation usually lasts for 5 to 10 seconds, after that the operation seems to be normal again.
I don't know what will reproduce this situation, but as far as I remember I should be using Chrome every time this happens. I have Microsoft Security Essentials installed. I have the newest drivers and BIOS installed. The hard disk check under Lenovo Diagnostics in BIOS shows good. I also have APS installed so I shouldn't receive damage to my hard disk. (??)
This is really annoying because it appears randomly at random intervals, lasts for random time length and happens in random situation that disturbs me very much. Does anyone has any clue or happens to have this issue also?

Thanks for your suggestion, but I believe Microsoft Security Essentials is enough for preventing malwares. Also I never run unknown programs, I keep my system secure and I am virtually a computer geek (believe it or not). I don't trust antivirus other than the famous paid ones and Microsoft Security Essentials.
Sometimes the hard disk is very active and by checking Resource Monitor it is `msmpeng.exe`, which is something about Microsoft Security Essentials. It's only performing a scan. I don't really know if it causes the heavy hard disk load because there's no way for me to check. Nothing suspicious come up in Event Viewer.
I am thinking that the APS could actually cause the problem because I set it to the most sensitive. I just reduced the sensitivity to see if anything is improved.

  • Time Capsule and Powerline Adaptors - Internet periodically freezing

    Hi all,
I hope you can help with a problem I am having with my home network. The Virgin Media broadband in my home arrives in my home office and, in the past, when I connect my Time Capsule to the VM router and use it to generate a wireless network I get a very poor wifi signal in the rest of the house - the office is at one end of the property and I suspect there are several metal beams in the wall blocking the signal.
So, to improve the network I bought some TP-Link Powerline adaptors. I have run an ethernet cable from the VM router to one adaptor, put the second adaptor in the living room and attached an ethernet cable from the adaptor to the Time Capsule. The wifi signal from the Time Capsule is now excellent in all parts of the house, but, for some reason, the internet periodically "freezes" on any wifi or wired device that I attach to the TC. There is no issue with the wifi reception - all the devices continue to be attached to the TC with great reception. The broadband service is also not at fault - I have an iMac connected directly to the VM router in the office and the internet continues to run perfectly on that computer during these outages. Each outage lasts 1-2 minutes, occurs about every 5 minutes and during that time I am not able to do anything on the internet - it is not related to a particular site
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is going on?

Powerline adapters are not ethernet cables.. they have their own issues.
Test the setup by plugging a laptop/nearby computer into the powerline adapter and see if you have issues at all. Load it up since the TC is going to run it fairly hard with multiple computers connected.. ie Run a few downloads and do browsing etc at the same time.. check the actual speed of the link and how stable it is.
If it is fine, then the issue is the TC.
Alternatively just get another router, eg TP-Link WDR3600 which is only about $70-80. Borrow one from a friend. If that has no problems then you can pretty well say the issue is TC.
In that case we need to know exactly which TC running exactly which firmware. This issue is well known in the later AC model.. it is caused by some issue with the WAN port not holding the line correctly. You may need to do a bit of work on it and sadly apple have removed logging and lots of abilities from the TC so it is now pretty hard to do any realistic testing. Hence if the new router works.. keep it and set the TC as a Wireless AP.

  • Periodic freezing/pausing of executable, LV 8.2

    Hello,
I have created an executable from a VI created in LabVIEW 8.2 (Professional Developer Suite).  The VI and executable work fine on the machine in which the VI was created (Windows XP).  The executable is to run on a machine without LV installed.  The program is to interact with a stepper motor driven syringe pump via RS-232, and data is collected using a PCI-6259 DAQ card and a NI SCC-68 connector box.
My problem is that when I run the executable the program seems to momentarily freeze/pause from time to time; however, the program is able to complete fully.  I have noticed that the program seems to pause in conjunction with the computer's clock on the Taskbar; the block diagram of the program includes an "Elapsed Time" Express VI, which I have been told is related to the computer's clock.
Would anyone be able to give me some advice one what could be going wrong?
    Thank you very much,
    Karin

    Hello Chris,
Thank you for your reply.  I tried debugging the executable and had no luck finding the problem; the network connection is too slow when I perform the remote debugging and I was not able to observe the program run at normal speed.  I also checked the orignal vi for "race calls" and other such possible sources of error, but did not find any.
However I tried running my executable on another machine and it ran fine; that is to say it did not periodically freeze/pause.  The specs of this machine are: Pentium III 1.00 GHz processor, 496 MB Ram, Windows XP SP2.  The machine in which the executable paused/froze was a: Pentium IV 2.40 GHz processor, 512 MB Ram, Windows XP SP2.  (The development system's machine has same specs of this latter one).
Furthermore, if this if of any relevance, the machine in which the executable ran properly did not observe the Taskbar clock to pause, while the machine in which the executable paused/froze periodically did observe the Taskbar clock to pause.  Please recall from my original post that the periodic pausing/freezing appeared to occur in conjunction with the pausing/freezing of the Taskbar clock on the PC.  I revised the original vi to use the "Tick Count" function to measure time, in place of the "Elapsed Time" express vi that I was originally using, however this did not solve the problem.
My question is this: if the executable is able to run fine on one machine, is this an indication that the problem is not within the coding of the orignal VI, and perhaps is in the PC itself?  Would you know of any settings/configurations (in either the build of the executable or PC settings) that may be causing my executable to pause on some machines but not all?   I would greatly appreciate any other possible suggestions on this matter.
    Thank you very much,
    Karin

  • Success using Bluetooth headphones A2DP

Has anyone had success using bluetooth headphones with the Mac OS X 10.5+?
I have a pair of JBL Reference 610 bluetooth headphones and would like to use them with my MacBook Pro. I have no problem pairing them and can listen to sounds, music, etc. for a short period of time. Within 1min - 5min of listening the sound will cut completely and then come back in after a few seconds. When it comes back in, the music sounds like it is speeding to catch up. It might continue this way for a few seconds, come back, and drop out again. This continues to degrade until no sound comes through at all. The headphones remain connected during this time and I must disconnect them in order to listen to music through another way.
Please post here if you have gotten bluetooth audio to work or if you are having problems.
I opened a ticket with Apple support and this incident has been reported to engineering.

Same problem. I just bought $400 stereo music Bluetooth headphones to lose the wire. Every other music app I have plays to the headphones, even cheap little toys like Kalimba. But not GarageBand.

  • MacbookPro loses connection with Logitech V270 periodically during use

My MacbookPro loses connection with Logitech V270 periodically during use. THis happens about every 5 to 10 minutes. I get the pic on the screen showing that the computer has lost the connection with the mouse and then after a few seconds it reconnects and works again. I've tested it out with my Powerbook and it works fine so I think it must be related to the MacbookPro. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

    Hi, Jeffrey!
Yes, there have been a few such problems discussed here, and in the MacBook Pro Bluetooth, USB... forum; the Other Bluetooth devices forum; and elsewhere in Apple Discussions related to Logitech V270 performance issues with both PPC and Intel-based Macs, &/or to Bluetooth performance in Intel-based Macs specifically. But, given an assumption or two about the number of participants who are not posting about such problems, my guess is that both Bluetooth and the V270 are working for many users. (By which I mean: let's presume the problem is amenable to troubleshooting...)
As an example, here's a link to a thread specifically about connection problems with the Logitech V270 — including various posts, apparently all by PPC users. But don't let "nay-sayers" get you down... By the way, the fact that the V270 works more reliably with your PowerBook is not, imo, definite proof that there's some inherent problem related to the MacBook Pro — various factors such as software, "pairing" and connection, differerent peripherals configuration, etc. may differ between the two Macs and affect the V270's functionality.
I'm not aware of single, straightforward underlying cause for what you're experiencing; some troubleshooting and trial-and-error may be required to resolve it. So, if I may, here are a few thoughts/suggestions; perhaps some may be relevant &/or helpful:
      (1) Although Logitech says here that the V270 doesn't require a driver for Mac OS X functionality, they did recently update the Logitech Control Center software to v.2.0.0 (download page + VersionTracker reviews) for Universal compatibility — so why not at least try it?  (Keep in mind that Logitech recommends uninstalling all of their outdated software before installing anew — and, thus, this would probably also be a good idea if LCC 2.0.0 doesn't work for you after giving it a solid "test drive.")
      (2) "3rd-party" drivers (like SteerMouse — also a Universal Binary — often improve functionality of Bluetooth-enabled mice. Although dropped connections are probably due to another factor, this is shareware and offers a trial period — so, again, no harm in checking it out.
      (3) There are various troubleshooting steps worth trying for lost Bluetooth connections. Some that you may come across aren't applicable to your MacBook Pro — because, for example, its Bluetooth firmware and software should be current after application of the Mac OS X 10.4.6 Combo for Intel Update. Some other things worth considering include those listed below. Hopefully, one will work and you won't need to try them all:
        (a) The best first step to try usually involves simply deleting your mouse's "pairing" and using the Bluetooth Setup Assistant (BSA) to reconfigure it just as you did initially after purchase.
        (b) Sometimes a variation of "power-cyling" (of the internal Bluetooth module and the mouse) helps with a problem like this. With a laptop, this would involve two basic steps. Shut down the MacBook Pro normally (not restart), and leave it off for several minutes before rebooting. Remove the mouse's batteries for at least 1 minute, then replace them (preferably with new) — taking care of their polarity and that they are seated properly. Check that the internal metal contacts/springs, etc. are clean, unbent, and free from corrosion. Some users have reported ~high sensitivity to the in-place voltage of batteries for the Bluetooth connection process to succeed. Leave the V270's "on/off switch" in the "off" position while starting-up the MacBook Pro, then turn it "on" and re-pair if necessary.
Some users have also reported success with Bluetooth-related problems by resetting PRAM and NVRAM. Others have tried resetting the Power Management Unit (PMU), although my personal virew is that (as described in the article just linked) this should always be considered a "last resort."  Article 303234 also lists both of these options.
        (c) Non-compliant USB device(s) and other USB-related issues (such as a device acting as a "traffic hog" through your controller) can cause this kind of problem. Most can be identified using the tried-and-true method of a process of elimination. (See, e.g., KnowledgeBase articles 58033 and 25243.)
        (d) Make a careful inventory of potential sources of 2.4 GHz RF interference in the environment(s) where the problems occur — and taking any appropriate steps to isolate and resolve any issues you may identify.
        (e) If nothing else has helped, perhaps further exploration is warranted.  Do you see anything in Activity Monitor or your system.log or console.log closely correlated to the times of "dropped connections" that may provide a clue about what's happening?
        (f) If the behavior began recently, re-applying the Mac OS X 10.4.6 Combo for Intel updater may be a step worth trying: several Bluetooth improvements were incorporated in this release, and reapplying the Combo updater has reportedly helped others with Bluetooth-related problems.
        (g) Although I don't recall an example of corrupt preferences causing this particular behavior, you may want to try removing ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist  and restarting (or logging-out and -in again), if nothing else has worked. As with any such preferences "refreshing," you'd need to reset things the way you like in System Preferences »» Bluetooth after this return to default preferences.
I hope something here is useful to you in troubleshooting and solving the intermittent "dropped-connections" problem.
Please post back to share your progress — it may help others.
    Regards,
    Dean

  • Anyone using BlueTooth with MSI KT3 Ultra-Aru?

    Hi,
I have a KT3 Ultra ARU too, and I understand that if you use the onboard Bluetooth connection you must not use the USB connection under the blue sticker at the same time.
I think it's because the onboard Bluetooth connection and the USB connection under the sticker use the same adress (IRQ). So as long as you have no Bluetooth, like me, you can use the 4 USB connections. If you use Bluetooth connection on board, do not use the USB connection under the sticker (the left one seen from backside of your PC).
If you use an external Bluetooth it's not a problem with your 4 USB connections.

  • Incoming calls not using Bluetooth / Music tracks repeating

I've been having a problematic issue with Bluetooth since upgrading to iOS 7. I have my iPhone 5 paired with my 2013 Hyundai Elantra's Bluetooth system.
Outbound calls use Bluetooth just fine, as does Siri, but any incoming calls all use my iPhone's headset by default. I have to manually switch the phone's output back to my car's bluetooth in order to talk using my car's hands-free system... which really defeats the purpose of hands-free.
I'll note that this is happening both when my iPhone is plugged in via USB and listening to music on the car's stereo, as well as when the iPhone is simply idle in my pocket. I have not tested what happens when the car is playing my iPhone's music via Bluetooth (the audio quality is sub-par to a direct connection and doesn't display the artist/track/album on the console when playing via Bluetooth - ergo I rarely use it)
Secondly, I am having another issue, this time with playing music. I don't believe it's related to the above Bluetooth issue, but it may be related to my car.
Like I said above, I often use my Elanta's USB port to directly plug in my iPhone so I can a) listen to music on the car's stereo and b) skip tracks with the wheel-mounted controls. This all worked flawlessly with iOS 6.
Now, if I skip a track with my car's controls, the Music app will repeat that next track... over and over. When the song is completed, it will attempt to move on to the next song, then immediately backtrack and start playing the previous song again (you can tell so by watching the Music app. The album art will swipe over, then quickly swipe back). I have to manually skip forward to play a new song... Highly irritating.
I'll also note that skipping songs via the wheel-mounted controls is considerably slower than it was with iOS 6. It's definitely a couple seconds after I press a button before the next song starts to play. It used to be near-immediate.
Anyone else having either of these issues? Hopefully it's something Apple picks up on and fixes soon!

Don't know if you got this yet, but I came here looking for answer. Since I just found one, figured I'd pass it on for others:
You have to set your phone's incoming calls to "headset" under accessibility. (Silly, I know, considering, if you hook up a bluetooth, it should automatically default there, but no ...) This walks you through:

  • Attempting to use bluetooth for the first time, and it never sees any other devices

I have an iPad 2 about a year old, running iOS 6.0.1.  This morning I tried to connect to another iPad, over bluetooth, and neither iPad is able to discover the other.  This is the first attempt to use bluetooth on either of these iPads.  The other iPad is also running iOS 6.0.1.  The iPads were less than 10 feet apart.
On both devices, I went to settings:bluetooth, and turned blutooth "on".  This opened up a "Devices" box, which says "Searching...", with a spinning wheel icon. Below this box is says "Now discoverable".  Both devices remained in this state.
I haven't used bluetooth before so I have no idea what I am doing wrong.
Later in the day I fiddled with the bluetooth systems prefs panel on my desktop (a circa 2005 intel mac running OSX 10.6.8).

(hadn't finished my earlier message but somehow it posted it before I was ready).
From the OSX bluetooth panel, I turned bluetooth on, and made my computer discoverable.  I then hit "setup new device", and was taken to the Bluetooth setup assistant.  After a few seconds it showed me my ipad as one of the devices it had discovered.  Over on the ipad, though, it did not discover the desktop machine.
After about a minute, I then selected the ipad from the list of devices on the desktop machine, and hit "continue".  At this point it said "attempting to pair with MyIpad", and "connection established".  At the same time, a panel popped up on my iPad, listing my desktop machines name, and asking for a PIN.  It is not clear to me whether it is asking for a PIN that I have supposedly set up on the desktop machine, or if it is asking me to establish a PIN.  So I quit.
In any case, my goal in going through this attempt on the destop machine was solely to establish whether the bluetooth hardware is working on the ipad.  I believe that has to be true.
So, can someone explain to me what steps I am *supposed* to go through to pair up two ipads over bluetooth?
