Panel menu title bars disappear

I have a long standing problem with the panel menus top and scroll bars disappearing. This happened in CS5 and still occurs in CS6 for me. I use a Mac Pro hexacore with three monitors (two video cards). It occurs after placing a document or switching from another app. Resetting prefs does not help. The work around is to reset the workspace or hit the tab key twice to redraw the palettes or click on the finder and back on an ID window. I leave lots of panels open on the right secondary screen with the main interface on the primary screen and misc. on the left screen. No issues like this in other apps.
Any thoughts?

The Mac has never needed "Full Screen". It has done multiple screen Extended Desktop since 1987.
Full screen is an iPhone feature, carried into this verion with the mult-touch gestures and other so-called "unifying" features.

Firefox title bar disappears

The title bar , minimize, and close window disappear.
I found some help but it does not work for very long.

Your Firefox might be stuck in full screen mode. You can use the F11 function key to switch between full screen and normal display modes. If you do not have an F11 key, sliding the mouse pointer to the top of the screen and right-clicking should display a short menu to exit full screen mode.

Moving Modal Panels without Title Bars

We have custom modal dialog boxes without Title Bars that we want to be able to move around the display by dragging and dropping in the usual way but by left clicking on the panel background rather than the title bar.
Programmatically I appear to have to re-position the front panel and all of the display/control elements on that panel fo every move step, is this right or is there an easier way?
Does anyone have any thoughts?

you're answer came close, I modified it a bit to be more accurate. The things I've done are:
move the location reading into the event structure (it's better correlated, in the time-out you had a lag of 10 ms.)
set the timeout to -1 when the mouse is inside the pane (mouse-enter and mouse-leave events)
Then I'd thought wouldn't it be nice if this code can be a sub-vi called on a mouse-down event?
That worked BUT in the subvi there are no events generated on the pane class, althought dynamic registration worked I can't seem to trigger events...
So the sub-vi works but only because of the time-out case....

I want to hide the blue title bar from my adobe air application

I'm doing an aplication with Flash CS4, using adobe air in as3. I have some frames, and in the frame 25 there's a stop, when user clicks a button, go ahead to frame 27 and stage resize the whole screen, just like a FULL_SCREEN, and then I load an pdf. I can't use FULL_SCREEN or FULL_SCREEN_INTERACTIVE property, because doesn't works the pdf loaded (even adobe help say it), so I would like to simulate it. The application it will be use in windows ( I am not sure if XP, vista, but windows). So when resize the stage, to load pdf, then and ONLY then, I want the title bar disappears, just to simulate full_screen.
How can I do, to make in a desktop application that ?

Open the Air Application descriptor file(eg: airproject-app.xml) for your application and
uncomment the <systemChrome></systemChrome> tag.
Set it to none like:
<systemChrome>none</systemChrome>
It will work.

Losing Title Bar when changing Look and Feel on the fly

I have an option in my Swing app for the user to change the Look & Feel on the fly by selecting from a radio button list. The look and feel is changed when the user make the selection, however the Windows Title Bar disappears. Any ideas what I'm missing?

You are disposing the view. My guess is that this is your problem. Try creating a new one instead of just showing the old disposed one

MY URL bar disappeared!

I was using (as always) Safari 4 and by some weird finger movement I was typing something in google search bar/URL bar and then I heard "swish" (kind of similar to sound when you drag and drop into trash can)- I think I hit an F key by mistake- and then WHOOSH- the menu/URL bar disappeared and that side bar to directly put in a google search/keywords is also gone-- the Bookmarks bar is all up but there is NO WAY TO TYPE IN ANY URL ADDRESS OR EVEN GET TO ANY NEW WEBSITE OR DO A GOOGLE SEARCH- I CAN'T TYPE IN "GOOGLE.COM" ANYWHERE?! OR "YAHOO.COM" "MOBILEME.COM" ETC!!! I HAVE GONE thru prefs and such- but there is nothing- Even under "FILE" the "OPEN LOCATION" option can NOT be highlighted/used! What did I do and HOW do I get it back?!!! I relaunched Safari- new version 4.0.1 direct download from Apple- no luck. I restarted several times- but the URL bar is gone! PLEASE advise...

From the Safari Menu Bar click View/Customize Toolbar. Just drag the default bar up or customize by dragging the icons up.

Title Bar Modern Apps Missing

For some reason the Title Bar disappeared when I moved my mouse on top of screen. Instead of the Title Bar shows up the mouse turns into a hand. When I Un-install the KB 9219355 update I was able to bring down the Modern App to close it, but I never get
back the Title Bar - that have the minimize and the X close button.

In fact, after you install KB9219355, the Windows store app is like this:
The Minimize button, Close button, and taskbar are more available with your mouse.
This is normal behavior and the feature included in this Windows Update.
According to your description, it seems that you didn't install this update successfully.
Please check its status in View installed updates.
If it failed, please reinstall it for test.

No title bar in movie

When I open imovie, the title bar disappears and I can't do anything. Clicking on the desktop or another application brings it back. How do I fix this?

I've got egg on my face. The reason I don't have a title bar is (quoting from a CS4 review), 'There’s no longer a title bar to consume extra screen real estate unnecessarily.' !
I must have been running it maximized before yesterday, and didn't notice the 'no title bar' phenomenon.
After reading Steve's post, I googled harder and found the answer.
Sorry for taking up bandwidth. (On the other hand, if I hadn't seen that Steve, using Vista not 7, had the same, er, feature, I might have gone through a horrid cycle of reinstalling etc.; so posting did help me!)

Why did the browser window's title bar, menu, minimize, maximize, and close buttons all disappear, and how do I get them back?

I am literally stuck in Firefox. Suddenly the window changed to full screen mode, and the title bar and Firefox menu disappeared, along with the close, minimize, and maximize buttons. All I can access are the menu bar and open browser tabs.
I can't even access my dock (on Mac), which usually pops up when I mouse over the bottom of the screen.
So, the only way it seems I can get out of Firefox is to shut down my computer by pressing the power button. Unless there is some keyboard shortcut. I tried command-11 but that just switched between open my browser tabs.
FYI i have no idea what Ubuntu is and don't think I'm using it (that name seems to pop up when I google this problem)
Oh yeah, also I'm using Firefox 3.6.2 because my elderly Mac is running on OSX 10.4.11. Have never had any problems with it before.

IN your iTunes library, does the movie appear with a cloud on it for downloading?
is the movie still in the iTunes Store?
iTunes purchases the rights to sell a movie, but those are for a time limit. If the right expires and apple doesn't renew, the movie is no longer available for download and must be saved in your library. I suggest backing up your movies ASAP. Check the store for this movie, perhaps it is still available.

Spry Menu Bar disappears absolute position

Hello all this is my first time posting on this site so bear with me. I have a semi-transperant spry menu bar that i inserted into the header div, over an image. I moved the menu bar -38px, when the position is set to relative the menu bar is visible, however the old position of the menu bar has a blank white space there. I think this is due to the relative position property. What I see:
You need a width on the ul.MenuBarVertical style. Make it the same width as the ul.MenuBarVertical li selector.
Remove the float: none; from this style:

Hide menu bar and title bar in a JFrame

Hi!
I'm using a JFrame for a kind of viewer application. I start it as normal, so the JFrame has a JMenuBar with menus and the title bar with the application name.
So far, all right, but at some point I would like to press a JButton to make the viewer application full screen, that is, hiding the window title bar and the JMenuBar.
Any idea?
PD: I've tried the method myJMenuBar.setVisible(false) in order to hide the menu bar, but it seems it doesn't work because I'm using the Look&Feel Metal with border decorations.

Off-screen title bar and menu

I have a dual monitor setup, where the monitors have different resolution. I usually open documents on the larger screen, but if I open a second document it opens on the smaller screen with title bar and main menu off-screen. Is it any way I can anchor new windows to the top of the screen instead of the bottom?

It isn't displayed, i.e. it disappears. Remember this is a MS app and appears to follow the semantics of modal dialogues in Windows, i.e. they aren't "real" windows. They are a PITA in Windows as it's possible to hide them with another window and they are a pain to find - they don't appear in window lists and you can't Alt-TAB to them.
oh, yes, I forgot about that. I know that MS office Spaces integration was supposed to be fixed in Snow Leopard but I guess that didn't happen with MSN messenger. that's probably also the reason those apple scripts you tried didn't work.
Looking at this from a different angle, where are window positions likely to be saved as the position is retained across reboots. Is it the OS that handles this, or the app itself?
the window positions of an application are stored in the preference file of that application in /users/username/library/preferences. if you quit an application, delete its preference file and relaunch it then it should display on the default screen with default values. however, some apps (like Mail) keep important data in their preference files and deleting them will wipe that data.
Thanks. As you said about Mail, MSN Messenger stores all its data in their, e.g. account details, and the plist file is binary, but a quick Google revealed plutil so I converted it to XML, edited it in vi, and converted back to binary +et voilà+ it worked!!
The window position was 0, -56 so I just changed it to 0, 56
that will of course, do it.
