Panel problem: Lost keyboard focus in Photoshop on Mac OSX

Some background: I making a plugin that consists of some photoshop scripts and a panel created in Adobe Configurator. Basically the panel has some buttons which executes some functions in the script. The plugin is described in greater detail and can be downloaded here http://lumens.se/tychpanel
The problem: To reproduce the problem, do the following:
Give the panel focus by clicking somewhere on it.
Switch to another application, then back to Photoshop. Keyboard focus is lost.
Any ideas why this happens, and what to do about it?
Note: this is somewhat of a cross-post started at http://www.ps-scripts.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4021&sid=d3c3d77dd128984f8ee30252f0f4cf2a however, as I think it's more of a Configurator / Panel issue rather than a scripting issue I'm now asking here as well.

Have you updated to the latest osx version?
if not try 10.6.7 that could solve some problem with the keyboard

other suggestions could be :
- duplicate the default photoshop keyboard and create a new workspace
or
- try creating a new user account and test there

Keyboard keys dont work in Mac OSx

The following keys suddenly stop working and then continue working randomly: F1 to F7, but the F keys work (eg to show desktop) and also the right (and only the right) shift key.
This does not depend on what software I have running and happens very very frequently.
If I bring up the Keyboard Viewer when the problem exists, the keys also dont get registered on the keyboard viewer.
This is really annoying and happens in Mac OSx, not in Windows - although volume and brightness keys dont work (all the time) in Windows - less of an issue though.
Any suggestions??

I'm having a similar problem. But it is not intermittent, they just don't work.
What can I do to fix this? If I use my wireless keyboard, it isn't a problem. Just when I use my laptop by itself...

If you are looking to install PS cc version on your Mac , I am afraid that wont work as the min system requirement for PS CC is MAC OS 10.7 or above . UI problem when run java swing application on MAC OSX

Hello,
I have problem when i run my java swing application on MAC OSX.
Dialog box is not properly visible in MAC means ita size increses.
its size incresed and and some content or buttons on that dialog are not fully visible.
I can only see partial message or button.
If any one have idea about this problem then give the solution.

Problems using the reset password function on mac osx server.

Hey ,
Having problems with the reset password functions on the OSX server. When I try to do through the command line it asks for the old password of the user. So how do I fix the problem? Do I have to log in onto the ldap server as the admin and reset from there or is there an easy fix to make the reset password function work. When I try the reset password function the server is not taking the input when I click on change password. So any helpful suggestions are welcome. Verson OSX lion 10.7.5

Problem with Quicktime stops Preview in Photoshop? Mac OSX 10.6.8

There were no warnings about Lion blocking old software when I installed Lion. Because purchasing new software was beyond my budget,
I had it removed and went back to Leopard 10.6.8. Now when I'm working in Photoshop and have adjusted an image, a message appears "Because of a problem with Quicktime, a preview can't be built. Quicktime Player 10 is in the Applications folder, and Quicktime Play 7 is in the Utilities folder.
Quicktime movies in Support on the Apple site won't play either. Please advise steps to take or new download.

Keyboard and Trackpad Not Working; Mac OSX Unexpectedly Quit?

Hey everyone... I think I may need to stop by the Apple store to figure this one out, but I just wanted to make sure if there was anything I could do on my own first.
So basically, on my MacBook Pro that I got nearly two years ago (late September of 2006) for the past month and a half has had problems. In the beginning, the mouse and keyboard would freeze up and just not work. Restarting the comp did nothing. Some times were worse than others (once it was frozen for 1.5 hours). Then it stopped, every now and then having a few freezes (sometimes when the keyboard froze but the trackpad was still good), but two days ago I had my comp not hooked up to an adapter. When the battery got low, the comp froze. I went to bed and closed the laptop, and the next day it was still frozen. I unfroze it, but then it happened again (I'm pretty sure the same situation... almost no battery)... and it is still frozen, even after multiple restarts.
Also, during the time when freezes weren't as bad, sometimes the keyboard would get stuck on one key, usually the volume up button (very annoying)... then I was told to restart the comp. When I came back, I was told that Mac OS X had unexpectedly quit.

Not sure if this is also important, but I did spill some water on the keyboard a very long time ago (late December '06)... it wouldn't take this long for that to cause the problem, would it?

Does booting up in [Safe Mode|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455?viewlocale=en_US] help at all? This boot mode checks the disk on startup and disables non-apple start up items and certain kernel extensions.

Configuration Error 15: CS5 Photoshop for Mac OSX

I have been running Photoshop on my computer for quite a while. This morning, when I tried to open the program, I received a Configuration Error: 15 and was told to uninstall and reinstall the program. I did this (twice), and still receive the same error.
I searched all throughout the forums, and the only answer I could find was in regards to error 16 (seems like a similar problem), and followed this link: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/configuration-error-cs5.html
Unfortunately, my computer does not appear to have the SLS Store or Adobe PCD folders in the Library/Application Support/Adobe folder, so I cannot try this solution to see if it works for me.
I have successfully opened InDesign, Illustrator and Dreamweaver today. Only Photoshop is not working.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

followed instructions on link. Does absolutly nothing. Wated 4k over 2 years on Adobe. I removed and un-installed all products, per Adobe instructions, re-installed. same problem. re-installed Maverics. same problem.
Contacted Apple was told it was a liceincing issue with adobe server and to contact Adobe for patch. Adobe charges for tech support when you buy their products. Nothing like buying a new car, then having to rent the Keys!
Adobe feel free to adress your cutomer base at anytime as we are all having problems.
If anyone finds answer or can understand the person on the tech support please post answer.

Having trouble installing Photoshop on Mac OSX 10.7.4

You will have to rewrite the script in JS if you want the same code to run on Windows and Mac. Both VB and Applescript are restricted to their respective OSs.
There is no automated mechanism to convert your VB code to JS or AS to make it run on the Mac.

Lost data when trying to reinstall Mac OSX 10.5 (Leopard)

Hi,
Today, during the reinstall of my OS I got a message (in the 'about a minute to finish' part) that the installation couldn't be completed and that my old files (which I chose to keep intact - option 'Archive and Install') were in a folder called "Previous System". Well, turns out that OS kept only a few files (like 1 music from over 2000) and all my photos are gone, as well as all my documents!
Now i'm looking for some recovery data apps, but I would appreciate some help in my next steps.

Hi FboO. There are a number of data recovery applications out there. [Data Rescue|http://www.prosofteng.com/products/data_rescue.php] is one of them.
After you've gotten all the data back that you can get (make sure you have at least two backups) you can then attempt to repair the file system using Disk Utility when booted to the install disk. If repair fails, erase the drive and try again. Further failures would indicate hardware issues requiring a repair.

I notice I failed to list my system...Late-2012 i7 iMac, 3TB Fusion, OS X 10.9.3, 32GB RAM.
Update. Google has confirmed the problem and I find it also exists in Photoshop CC 2014.
After some testing I've discovered a slightly inconvenient work around that works in Photoshop CC 2014, I haven't tested it in Photoshop CC
A 'simple' work around is to select Preferences->Performance... then uncheck "Use Graphics Processor", click OK to exit preferences, select Preferences->Performance... and check the "Use Graphics Processor" box again, quit Photoshop, restart Photoshop. The brush pattern is again shown.

Calling1.4.1 signed applet from Javascript causes keyboard/focus problems

Pretty sure there's a JRE bug here, but I'm posting to forums before I open one in case I'm missing something obvious :-)
This issue may be specific to IE, I haven't tested elsewhere yet. Our web application is centered around a signed applet that is initialized with XML data via Javascript. We first noticed the problem when our users started upgrading from the 1.3.x plug-in to the 1.4.x plug-in. The major symptom was that shortcut keys stopped working. I debugged the problem off and on for about a month before I boiled it down to a very simple program that demonstrates the issue (included below). Basically, the program has a function that adds a JButton to a JPanel and registers a keyboard listener (using the new DefaultKeyboardFocusManager class) that prints a message to the console. This function is called by the applet's init() method, as well as by a public method that can be called from Javascript (called callMeFromJavascript()). I also included a very simple HTML file that provides a button that calls the callMeFromJavascript() method. You can test this out yourself: To recreate, compile the class below, JAR it up, sign the JAR, and put in the same dir with the HTML file. Load the HTML file in IE 5.0 or greater, and bring the console up in a window right next to it. Now click the button that says init--you should see the small box appear inside the button that indicates it has the focus. Now press some keys on your keyboard. You should see "KEY PRESSED!!!" appearing in the console. This is proper behavior. Now click the Init Applet from Javascript button. It has removed the button called init, and added one called "javascript". Press this button. Notice there is no focus occurring. Now press your keyboard. No keyboard events are registered.
Where is gets interesting is that if you go back and make this an unsigned applet, and try it again, everything works fine. This bug only occurs if the applet is signed.
Furthermore, if you try it in 1.3, signed or unsigned, it also works. So this is almost certainly a 1.4 bug.
Anyone disagree? Better yet, anyone have a workaround? I've tried everything I could think of, including launching a thread from the init() method that sets up the components, and then just waits for the data to be set by Javascript. But it seems that ANY communication between the method called by Javascript and the code originating in init() corrupts something and we don't get keyboard events. This bug is killing my users who are very reliant on their shortcut keys for productivity, and we have a somewhat unique user interface that relies on Javascript for initialization. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

I tried adding the requestFocus() line you suggested... Same behavior.
A good thought, but as I mention in my description, the applet has no trouble gaining the focus initially (when init() is called). From what I have seen, it is only when the call stack has been touched by Javascript that I see problems. This is strange though: Your post gave me the idea of popping the whole panel into a JFrame... I tried it, and the keyboard/focus problem went away! It seems to happen only when the component hierarchy is descended from the JApplet's content pane. So that adds yet another variable: JRE 1.4 + Signed + Javascript + components descended from JApplet content pane.
And yes, signed or unsigned DOES seem to make a difference. Don't ask me to explain why, but I have run this little applet through quite a few single variable tests (change one variable and see what happens). The same JAR that can't receive keyboard events when signed, works just fine unsigned. Trust me, I'm just as baffled as you are.
