Panic attack - what premiere is about

Hi
Wow, check this link out....and the next time I go shoot an abandoned gas station I'm gonna keep this in mind !
When you get to the first page describing the recent success of this fellow...check the YouTube video link on that page , which is what Premiere is all about.

Thanx again! now after i started up my mac with the safe boot i starts up awful, first after the gear below the apple logo stops and the charging bar that appear dissapear my mac puts on a white screen with nothing and the it goes nto the screen where i can log in ¡, after logging in my mac just kind of lags and in the middle of the screen appears some lines (kind of lag) that then dissapears. Also the safe boot red words that was on the top of my screen on the log in window dissapeared after logging in.
So does i have to worry, or its normal. And now that i started up with safe mode does that mean that my mac is alright now? thank you for all of your time also !

  • In less than 2 weeks, I had a panic attack on my Macbook 10.6.8. What does this mean?

In less than 2 weeks, my macbook 10.6.8 had a panic attack. Shortly before it happened 2 weeks ago, I got this call from someone saying he was from Apple and he got a report that something was wrong with my computer. Since I hadn't called any one I thought it was a prank call and I hung up. Shortly after that I received the message to power down my computer. Do people from Apple make calls like this? I tried to find the number but I think it one of those caller unavailable, that's why I hung up. What could be causing this panic attack? Since 2007, it's happened before but few and far between. I did add new memory about a month ago but other than that, I've added nothing. I hope you can help me because I am on very limited budget and can't buy a new one. Thanks for your help.

The call as well as any similar email messages claiming to be from Apple are all phishing scams. We can't help you until you post a kernel panic log: Mac OS X- How to log a kernel panic. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on diagnosing kernel panics.

  • My kernel had a panic attack...

    Hello,
I recently sent my iBook G4 in to be serviced for a problem with the mouse button. (They replaced the top half of it..) I have been using my half new computer for about a month and now somthing went horribly wrong...
I bought an Airport Express to get a wireless network. I tried to install it by inserting the cd that came with it... The computer froze while installing the airport driver. I forced shutdown. When I went to restart it, the gray wheel kept spinning and spinning until it eventually froze. I tried booting from the mac osx cd, then the real trouble started. I got a screen with a page of code and the words
    "Panic: We are hanging here..."
At the bottom... I guess my computer had a panic attack..
I started in single user mode and did a fsck in hopes of somthing, but it returned an error saying that it could not repair the volume... I then tried everything, resetting the PMU, imaging the install DVD to an external HD, running the hardware diagnostic (which froze), and then got angry and pouted for a few minutes...
I am going to bring the computer into the genius bar tomorrow, but I really HATE these issues.... PLEASE, HELLPPPP MMMEEEEEEEEEE!!!

  • Kernal Panic attacks - please help

For the pas couple of weeks my G4 (Quicksilver) has been having kernal panic attacks. This problem does not happen all the time, but seems to happen more after the computer has been asleep from the time I go to bed till I get back from work. It wakes up fine, and about 3 minutes after it waking up there is a panic attack. It will then take me 3-4 restarts to get back up and running, then everything works fine. I have run the hardware test, applejack (a couple of times), and a couple other, along with removing the memmory and trying each one, and it still happens. Tomorrow I will be purchasing new memmory and will try and swap it out, both of my 512MB RAM sticks did the same thing when I restarted.
Here is the the latest info from the panic log.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I beileve the only thing left is I believe it to install new RAM and to reinstall the OS.

Once the computer gets up and running, it can go to
sleep for a couple of minutes and it will wake up
sometimes ok. If I restart the computer once it has
been warmed up it seems to work ok, I have only had a
couple of times where it did not like the restart.
    Yeah, that sounds similar.
Does this mean that it could be a processor issue -
that the processor has to be warmed up before it will
    work correctly?
We never did figure out what the underlying problem was. These were Avid edit suites and when the problem showed up, the computers were just so old we decided to replace them (I wasn't paying for them myself). I nursed one through the political conventions in 2000 by putting it on a UPS (and crossing my fingers a lot) just to make sure it never got turned off. But that was just because I didn't have enough time to set up a new computer at that time.
I am just running out of ideas on
what to do, and I really need this computer to work
    for a while longer.
My suggestion is to see if you can just keep it running all the time for as long as it's got left. It's almost certainly going to be cheaper to pay for the electricity than to have it fixed. If you have to take it down for an extended period of time, just try to plan ahead if you can for a period of downtime where you coax it back to life.
It could be any component, maybe the CPU, but also the clock chip that's running the whole system drifting off frequency.

  • Frequent Panic Attacks for my Mac Book Pro Mountain Lion 10.8.5

    Hi All,
My mac book pro with OSX mountain lion 10.8.5 has kernel panic attacks randomly couple of times a day.
I have no idea why or when it gets trigerred. I dont have any third party drivers or extensions installed (except for  upgrading to 16gigs of memory).
I have already reimaged my hard-disk ( took a apple genius appointment and they did it for me).
    But issue persists after that.
Can anyone look at the panic report below and tell me what the issue could be ?

  • 10.9.3 Upgrade - Causes GPU Panic Attacks

Since the upgrade on May 17 2014, my MAC Book Pro has been crashing constently.  It has crashed in many applications and in many scenarios. It is not hardware related given that my MAC has been nothing but stable until the upgrade.  I have read that 4K support for monitors was introduced as part of this release and since I my laptop going into a state GPU Panic, it only seems to make sense that it is related to an OSX bug.  Can someone please advise on what to do.
    Thanks.

The root cause was a faulty logic board (and not 10.9.3 upgrade).  My MBP has been working without issue since the replacement.  As I have read in other threads (on this site and others), if you are getting GPU Panic attacks, chances are very good you have a hardware issue.

  • Series of panic attacks

My 8-core Mac Pro (2,1) running 10.6.8 has recently started having an endless series of panic attacks, with a frequency of 1-2 per day.  A typical log follows, but the BSD of the current thread varies: sometimes it's dropbox, sometimes SecurityAgent, sometimes mds, sometimes kernal_task. The CPUs that rail to respond are typically 0, 1, or 2 but I've seen 7 do it too.
I had made two hardware changes prior to this series of attacks: (1) I replaced one of the internal disks (not the system disk) and (2) I noticed that only 28Gb of my 32Gb of memory was showing up, and I identified which two DIMMs were bad and removed them, being careful to keep the missing two slots in the slots 3 and 4 of the lower riser (B).  I've now pulled out the new disk and reduced the memory to two DIMMs in the upper riser in an effort to trouble shoot.
    Any other suggestions?  Thanks.

  • ITunes 7 Kernel Panic Attack Errors upon Opening

I am really, really mad. Since I upgraded to iTunes 7, so far I have had a total of SIX Kernel Panic Attack errors. I am not lying. I used Disk Utility and checked to see if there was anything wrong, and there isn't. I am really, really frustrated. I can't even open up iTunes without the screen going black and telling me to restart my computer.
What do I do? Bring my computer to the Apple store and let them do whatever? And I have my music on my iPod, but if they had to I don't know-- reinstall iTunes, would I have the same issues?

I have seen a lot of kernel panics since either iTunes 7 or OS X 10.4.8 (which happened almost at the same time). Still looking for a cause/solution.

  • Kernal Panic attack during Boot up

When i boot up i get a kernal panic attack when this screen and says
    panic(cpu 0 caller 0x001A7BED): Kernel trap at0x00000000, type 14=page fault
BSD process name corresponding to current thread:
I cant quite read after the BSD Thread part seeing as the Kernal message attack comes up on the screen.
    I seriously need help.
Running macbook model 2.1 with 2ghz processor 4GB ram. Running Leopard 10.5
This actually happened was updating Leopard when I installed 10.5.. then when it was installing i put the lid down.. then brought it back up after a few mins.. and it was a black screen, pressed the power button.. Nothing? so i switched it off then switched it back on and then this happened..
Now i dont know what to do

    Boot from your installer disc:
Booting From An OS X Installer Disc
    1. Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
    2. Restart the computer.
    3. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
    4. Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo appears.
    5. Wait for installer to finish loading.
If you get a kernel panic during the above then you have a hardware problem of some sort. Consider running diagnostics:
How to run hardware diagnostics for an Intel Mac
Boot from your original OS X Installer Disc One that came with your computer. After the chime press and hold down the "D" key until the diagnostic screen appears. Run the extended tests for a minimum of two or three hours. If any error messages appear note them down as you will need to report them to the service tech when you take the computer in for repair.
    Some "common" error indicators:
    SNS - sensor error
    MEM - memory error
HDD - hard disk drive error
    MOT - fan error

  • Mac panic attacks

I get "panic attacks" ever since I purchased my Mac three years ago.
Lately it happens more and more often. It shows you a multilingual
"hold a button to restart" message and there is nothing that can be done.
It started from the very beginning that I bought my Mac, but used
to be 3-5 times a week, now - 3 times a day. How can something
be THAT BAD??? Anth I can do?
Can it be that I've had a faulty product from the very beginning?
Here is how the report looks:

    Resolving Kernel Panics
One problem: disk directory corruption as a result.  You may need to use more than OS X DVD to repair your drive; may even need to start with a clean system in order to rule out what and why (backup first).  It could just be a driver, in which case a SAFE boot would help focus on id'ing what and why.

  • Panic Attack: iPhoto 7.1.5 slide show Blank

I recently copied over my entire iPhoto Library from my G5 Quad to my MBP. After opening iPhoto, I selected one of the groups to play a slide show. Everything worked fine. (I used the option to create the slide show using the right arrow button on the lower bottom left of the application.)
I then decided to add music. I then copied my iTunes library over from my Quad to MBP. I then opened iTiunes to make sure everything work and it did.
I then selected the music playlist I wanted to play in the background of my Slide show and started the slide show--problem is now the slide show is blank almost all the time. Maybe every 20 seconds or so a slide comes up. The music plays fine.
I hve tried the following to resolve the problem:
    1. Rebooted
    2. Repaired disk permissions
    3. Unselected music
    4. Tried selecting a different picture group
    5. Change Transition
    6. Unselected "scale photos to fill screen'
Yet I get the same blank slide show. I have to give this slide show tomorrow, so now I am now experiencing a panic attack. Any ideas where to start?

I copy the entire 'Pictures' folder over from another Mac and then put it into the MBP Pictures folder. That is what did not work.
Hw did you point iPhoto at this library.
On the second version, I copied just the iPhoto File (35 GBs) and then drag it into iPhoto on the MBP. After it loaded the pictures (6000 of the), I noticed that the albums on the lower left of iPhoto did not come over in the copy and import.
This is not how you restore a Library. What you’ve done there when you
    drag it into iPhoto
is have all the pics and versions treated as individual items. There is no way to import a database into another one like this.
The trick is to copy the Library to the Pictures Folder and then launch iPhoto. That’s it. There’s no importing involved. If you have more than one library then Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'

  • Continuous Kernel Panic Attacks

Hello, I have an iBook G4 with OS X Panther. When I use AIM Messenger, every minute or so, It will crash and ask me to report the incident to Apple. Right before the crash, the colored wheel will appear for about 3 seconds. Then, the application just crashes and I get the error asking me to report to Apple. In the Apple report, It diagnosed it as a Kernel Panic Attack. This happens EVERYTIME I use this program. I already did the steps Apple told me to do in their support section, no help. I reinstalled the program and checked the system requirements. Could this be a hardware issue? I haven't installed any knew hardware actually inside the computer except for Airport. This is becoming very frustrating, any help appreciated! Would it help if I take it to an Apple Store, even though my iBook is out of warranty?
    Thanks!

I agree with NifflerX. I don't think you are experiencing Kernel Panics.
That article explains, and shows an image of a KP.
But you are having an Application Crash.
Are you able to locate a preference file for AIM?
Quit AIM. Navigate to HD > Users > Your Home > Library > Preferences: Look for files associated with AIM. They will probably have .plist at the end.
Put them in the Trash, and try to launch AIM again.
    Good Luck!
