Not unless you are frequently getting kernel panics. It looks like this panic may be related to your hard drive. Run your Disk Utility and/or fsck once.
1. Reboot/Startup holding your Command-S key down.
2. At the command line type the following and hit 'Return.'
/sbin/fsck -fy
3. If it finds a problem and repairs it, immediately run fsck again until the drive checks OK.
4. After it has check/repaired your disk, type 'reboot' and hit 'Return' again. Unit should bootup normally.

Mac Air Security, Internet Issues: System Report Attached

I don't know if it's my fault that my brand new Macbook Air is having so many problems. I am not in the know with the terms so I have attached a system report. Basically unable to keep users off of my internet network (private supposedly), On both my air and my iphone my emails keep getting deleted and application passwords are being changed like crazy. I'm frustrated. Don't feel bad if you realize that it is comepletely my fault, I just want to solve this problem. Please ask any questions for clarification, I just don't know where to start.

You haven't shown any evidence that your computer was tampered with. Some of your Internet accounts may have been. Usually, but not always, that happens because you chose a weak password.
Log in to each account (if you still can) and change the password. If you use the same password for any other accounts, change those passwords too, and make them all different. Internet passwords should be random strings of at least 10 characters. You most likely don't need to, and should not be able to, remember them. They should be saved in your keychain and backed up with the rest of your data.
One way to generate a secure password is the following. Triple-click anywhere the line below on this page to select it:
openssl rand -base64 10 | cut -c-14 | open -ef
Copy the selected line to the clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Launch the Terminal application and paste into the window that opens (command-V). A string of 14 random characters will appear in a TextEdit window. Use that string, or a substring, as the password. To generate another random string, press the up-arrow key and then the return key with the Terminal window active. You can then quit Terminal.
If the compromised account is on Gmail, then changing the password may not be enough. Follow all of Google'sinstructions to secure it.

I have an older G5 and It has been crashing a lot lately. Mostly when I'm using billing software or Vinyl cutting software. It also won't launch safari and occasionally it won't launch mail. The fan starts running faster and I get dos code that comes up on the screen over whatever program I'm running and it says:

System Panic Report

Off late, my system is hanging or freezing. During a forced restart (stop the computer with power button and restart it after 20-30 seconds) it gives the start up chime. It stops and user login screen. When I type my pass word, the screen goes black and it gives me a message like system panic. Before I could read the entire message, again the computer restarts and after user login, it either starts the computer or sometimes, again the same message appears and then starts the computer.

Hi, Tlix. Thanks for your perfect answer. Recently I bought Blackberry Z10 mobile phone and hence to connect with computer, I downloaded Blackberry Link. Since then, I could notice some peculiarities in the behaviour of my computer. Hanging, slow response and Blackberry Link quiting etc. Your answer confirmed my doubts and I totally un-installed that application. Since then, I didnt face any such issues. thanks. Only if you use MacBook with somehow closed cooling airflow... Like external monitor with closed lid, some soft cloth right behind MBP or like that.

Disconnect all other hardware and test one at a time to see if one of them is responsible.
Next run through this list of fixes, I would try the #3 Hardware Test, write anything down it says and take it into Apple for repair.

If I install Microsoft office on my mac air 2gb 64mb, will it slow my system down? I also have a macbook pro that i dont take out the house with Microsoft office already installed. Am I best to install Pages on the mac air or will it cause compatibility issues when working on files between the two devices?

The big question I have is this: is it your intention to work on the same documents on both the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro? If so, I strongly suggest that you pick one program and use it on both. Pages and Word are both good word processors but they really are not compatible - rather Pages can read Word files and be forced to create Word files. But the reading and writing isn't perfect and sometimes the amount of work required to re-edit a translated file is substantial.
Installing Office on the MacBook Air isn't going to slow it down unless your hard drive is already very full and Word should run okay on it (though you might not be able to run Word at the same time as you run other programs).

Changing body text is not simple. It's a desperate last resort. You need to buy the exact font. Acrobat will not let you edit in a font you don't own. Even then, it's undertain. Consider preparing an overlay in InDesign.

For Snow Leopard you require version 2.1.4. However AFAIK you can't buy this from Apple any more: the current version requires Lion 10.7.5 at minimum.
Amazon are offering v.2.1.1 in the UK - this is not compatible with Snow Leopard either but you should be able to apply an upgrade to 2.1.4. -

Your only other alternative is to upgrade your Mac to Lion 10.7.5 if it us compatible, and buy the current version.

Mac air ''11 track pad/ system problem?

I have a mac air 2011 ill give more specs when i get home.
So i turn my mac on and it acts normal for a few mins, then the cursor starts flipping out and when i move my R.A.T mouse. I cannot click on anything st all no side bar no windows open nothing on the desktop. My track pad has been warn down over the past 3 years and ive been using usb mice to game since i got the laptop. The track pad is unresponsive and does not click and moves sporadically when i try to move it.
I recently updated my air to maverick last week. Prior to this it had no problems at all. Then again my track pad has been messed up for a while now, jst before this happened, it would occasionally stick or double click when i click once.
I have tried PRAM reset. It works for about 5 mins and then it goes crazy again. Thr two things ive seen online is get a t-6 hex screw driver and tighten the screws or go to apple. Any one else have this problem? Is there any simple fix or anything i can do? Also i hVent had time to get a screwdriver yet.
So basically i cant use my laptop now. I can turn it on for five minutes but if i touch the track pad or wait a bit, the laptop will jst spazz the cursor out and after that it i cant click anything. Also during the spazz period i saw that it sometimes goes to mission control, the screen where all of your desktops or full screen programs pop up. Help meeee i need to get back to gw2!! Thanks
