Panorama from LR
I've got a 6 shot pano that I wanted to stitch in Photoshop from Lightroom. I selected all 6 in LR right clicked on one of them, selected "Merge to Panorama in Photoshop", sit back and wait. The result looks like I took 6 pictures with different exposures and taped them together.
Knowing that I had done these same shots before, I went right to PS, opened them from Bridge and did the panorama just from within PS. While not perfect, the pano looked great with no seams visible.
I had adjusted all the photos in ACR sometime ago and synced the settings so that shouldn't have been a problem.
LR3,CS5
Windows 7
From Lightroom to Photoshop.
From Photshop:
Yes I have had a very similar problem using Windows XP which I posted on the Photoshop forum awhile ago, when I had just purchased the latest update. But my test was to send the RAW pano shots to PS4 and the merge worked fine, where it did not work in PS5!
In the end I realised that for my machine the resources required are much higher in this current version compared with previous ones, therefore I have to select the pics in Bridge rather than use LR and PS5. Otherwise I get the same as you have shown and the merge task does not complete.

Merge to panorama from Lightroom to PS CS6 "could not be started"
I'm sure someone else has had this issue - but I've been searching for two days without finding it! I use LR 5.6 (5.7 as of 1 hour ago). I have PS CS5.1. I've routinely merged to panorama from Lightroom with no issues using CS5. I can upgrade to CS6 for $200 and I was led to believe the camera raw was contemporary (rather than giving me the "export anyway" dialog), the merge algorithm was better and the content-aware fill had been improved. As this really the only thing I us PS for (mostly), I thought I'd try the trial version and see if I could evaluate side-by-side.
When I "merge to panorama" now in LR, CS6 opens, makes me click the obligatory trail dialog, then just sits there... Eventually, LR comes up with the error that CS6 could not be launched (even though it does launch). I tried opening the DNG files in bridge and I could merge them... Did not notice an improvement in the content-aware fill - but I'd like to merge the same series on my laptop (with CS5) and desktop (with CS6) and give it a fair comparison. What could I be doing wrong??? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.Sorry. Are you saying that resetting Preferences did not work, or that you don't want to try it?
Are you asking the same question in the Lightroom forum?
This link refers to Bridge, but it covers CC scripting problems. I was going to ask if using CC 2013 helped, although I suspect that wherever you initiate the script from will default to the most recent version of Photoshop. So you are probably going to need to uninstall and reinstall.

Making a panorama from a layered image ...
I think that "auto blend layers>panorama" is assumed to make panoramas from layers ...
And, there is also "auto align layers" for making panoramas from layers.
I tried "auto blend layers>panorama" with an image and it can not make a panorama from the two layers trial image ... "auto align layers" can make a panorama easily from the same image.
So, I can see that there is a clear difference between the "auto align layers" and "auto blend layers>panorama" ...
But I could not understand the intention of designers of PS about the usage difference between the "auto align layers" and "auto blend layers>panorama"?There is one dialog for making a panorama from images ... single dialog for aligning and blending.
And, two dialogs for making a panorama from layers ... separate dialogs for aligning and blending.
There is no option for making a stack from images ...
And, two dialogs for making stack from layers ... separate dialogs for aligning and blending.
Why don't you make all of those things in a more systematic way?
One dialog for making panoramas and stacks from images ... single dialog for aligning and blending ... selectable separately
And, one dialog for making panoramas and stacks from layers ... single dialog for aligning and blending ... selectable separately
Photomerge is a tool for aligning and blending images ... so please put them under the same menu.

What's the best way to create a panorama from a series of images?
What's the best way to create a panorama from a series of images?
This is PhotoMerge result
This is WLPG
This is a manual merge
Before anyone comments on the poor image quality, I know. Its not my photography.
The beach huts were in an arc which doesn't help.
You can see that the photomerged image has not 'understood' the image and has bad destortion on the doors of some huts. The blend lines are also visible -
Photoshop CC 2014 crashes when trying to create a panorama from Lightroom?
Hi,
I have both Photoshop and Lightroom CC installed.
When I pass 6 photos from Lightroom to Photoshop CC to create a panorma, Photoshop goes through the throws, imports the images, generates the panorama then crashes, with a message from Windows saying it is checking for a solution to the problem, then dies.
I have reviewed the posts, and found one that suggest to increase the cache level to 6... tried this and it still dies.
Found another workaround to have Photoshop x64 running and pass the images to it rather than have Lr fire up Ps CC. This worked and produced the panorama.
I am not sure why, but with the use of the CC app, I know have three Ps's on my my machine, x32, x64 and CC..., not even sure what the difference between x64 and CC... ???...
So my question is...
Is there are a problem with PS CC?... there certainly was with the focus stacking algorithms.. or is it just me.?.. ;(
Thanks for any help with this...
Cheers
Keith Friend.

Merging photos to Panorama from LR4 to CS4 ?
When merging photos (RAW files) from LR3 in CS4 then all the modifications done to the photos (files) are reconized in CS4 and the Panorama has the same appearance in respect of exposure and color parameters.
When merging photos (RAW files) from LR4 in CS4 then the modifications done to the photos in LR4 (files) are not reconized in CS4 and the Panorama has the appearance of the untreated photos, same as imported. CS4 does not recognice, implement the LR4 modifications !!
I need first to export the photos to an other format and then merge them so that the LR modifications are implemented
Why that suddenly ?? This is a step backProbably because the version of ACR in CS4 is two versions behind the raw processing engine used by default in LR4? So, I assume you're using PV2012 in LR4 (e.g. with the new basic panel sliders), but ACR 5.7 can only recognise PV2003 and PV2010, and is therefore not able to correctly render the images as per your develop settings. (If you're not using PV2012 in LR4 however then it's a bit of a mystery...)
As you've discovered, the only way around this is to first use LR4 to render the images to TIFF/PSD, and then subsequently load them into CS4 for panorama stitching. The alternative would be to use PV2003/2010 for the raw images you wish to stitch together, but that would mean missing out on the superior PV2012 rendering.
If you upgrade to CS6 this will cease to be an issue.

hello,
i have just installed new LR5 and PS CS6.
i have the latest ACR 8.2
i used to enjoy sending several images to create panorama automatically with the integrated option in LR.
my problem is, that aside from the panorama process going ok, i have a shift in colors!
the final panorama has a slight but very noticable color shift from my LR images.
the interesting thing is that when i send a single image from LR to PS it opens up just right!
i was wondering if there is a color profile settings for that panorama option?
i would love to keep enjoying that sync that i had with LR and PS in the past.
thanks.
oren.well jim,
it really depends on the situation, but i'm also talking about indoor panoramas where light is constant and the images are perfectly even.
i guess something has changed in some settings cause i use to do the same process with no issues.
any other guess? -
Photomerge Panorame from Lightroom 5 to Elements 12?
After selecting 6 images in LR 5 and edit in>photomerge to panorama, LR5 creates 6 PSDs. Elements opens but images never appear in Elements.
I'm using Windows 7.Check your Lightroom settings under:
Edit >> Preferences >> External Editing
Click the choose button for additional external editor and make sure you have selected the editor application (exe) file. -
Cannot delete photos from panorama folder
Even though I have a 5c, I never tried the panorama feature until after upgrading to iOS 8. After taking the panorama, I wasn't pleased with it, and deleted it. The photo was moved to the new "Recently Deleted" folder, but also to the "Panoramas" folder. I know I can't delete the folder, but now I can't delete the panorama from the folder. In fact, since the original photo was "not editable," I created a duplicate in the folder, which I also can't delete. (Both have since been deleted permanently from the "Recently Deleted" folder.) No matter what method I try, I can't delete these photos, and only these two photos.
Please tell me they're not stuck there forever. Not only was this design change an extremely bad idea, after updating my phone, it moved all the pics from my camera roll into a photos album that cannot be edited. I can no longer delete any of these pics from my phone or from the USB connection, except from the camera roll which was added back. Now what??
How am I supposed to get rid of all the pics I don't want? This idiotic change created a big mess for me that there appears to be no way out of...
GIVE US BACK CONTROL OF OUT PHONES, AND STOP SCREWING WITH OUR ABILITY TO DELETE PICS!!!
I AM EXTREMELY UNHAPPY WITH APPLE NOW! -
On Adobe's web site it states the trial version has all functionality. FAQ, common questions & answers | Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 "These trial versions are fully functional, so every feature and aspect of the product is available for you to test-drive. Product trials can easily be converted for unrestricted use without the necessity to reinstall the software in most cases."
However, I cannot load pictures into the photomerge panorama window either from' browse' or 'add open files'. When I select either way nothing happens. This happens if I enter panorama from photo editor and/or organizer.
Can anybody enlighten me about this?
Thanks,
BarryIt seems your Samba is denying access to these files & dirs. My best guess would be that either the Samba user is not allowed to write (and read) those (in which case you'd have to modify the permissions accordingly) or Samba sets, when the share is mounted, the permissions such that your user is not allowed to read and write (you may in this case try to just set permissions for you to allow you what you want to do; or use "create mask" or "directory mask" or "writable" in your samba config. ).
Also, what do the logs say about this? According to your samba conf they are in /var/log/samba/%m.log where %m is the hostname or IP. -
Can't use the panorama feature
Hi,
I just acquired PS 12 & wanted to build a panorama from a suite of photos.
I loaded the photos in the Expert Edit mode and then tried to open a new file of the panorama type, as shown in the video tutorial. But the only choice I have is "Empty File".
What is it I do wrong ?
Thanks for your help,
JayPeeMThank you: it works
Cheers,
Jean-Paul

Panoramas in CC 2014 are darkened on one side and too light on the opposite side.
I have both Photoshop CC and Photoshop CC 2014 on my MacBook Pro.
When sending images from Lightroom for merge ring to panorama and CC 2014 is open, the final product is different from what happens in the CC version. The final pano is severely darker on one side and somewhat too light on the opposite side of the panorama.
I should mention that I used Lightroom to color corrected the images used. I used RAW images from my Canon Rebel xTi and all the images are equally lit (or close to it.)
If Photoshop CC is open, and I send the images to merge to Panorama from Lightroom, the final pano is fine and consistent in lighting across the panorama.
Anyone else experiencing this issue?
Here are my specs:
Hardware Overview:
Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro11,3
Processor Name: Intel Core i7
Processor Speed: 2.3 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 6 MB
Memory: 16 GB
Boot ROM Version: MBP112.0138.B02
SMC Version (system): 2.19f3I am having this exact problem and it is driving me crazy. I have to keep switching workspaces to see any, but sometimes they all disappear.
Restarting AI does not seem to make a difference.
Any help or tips, other than uninstalling and reinstalling would be appreciated. -
Elements 10 stops working when starting Photomerge - Panorama
I have selected two photos and then went to File, New, Photomerge-Panorama. The program starts then I get a message that the program has stopped working and I should close it. I have tried to start the Panorama from the Organizer and from the Editor with the same results. I can use the Editor for other editing and it works normally.
The two photos were obtained from my scanner. I scanned a large document and saved the scans as JPEG files. I have done this previously and have made panoramas of other photo series and it has worked.
I have Windows 8.1. I don't think I have tried to make panoramas since I went to Windows 8.1I had the same problem with Photomerge panorama (PS Elements 9) on my new Windows 8.1 HP laptop.
I found a post over on a thread about CS5 talking about dual video graphics drivers. My laptop has both Intel and Nvidia chips and drivers, and after I disabled the Nvidia driver in Windows Device Manager, so that I use only the native Intel graphics, Photomerge Panorama comes up fine. My external big monitor looks crisper with the Nvidia graphics enabled, but I can re-enable that easily after I am done with Photomerge. -
LR CC Panorama fails on Leica Monochrom DNGs
Just installed LRCC on my Mac (v10.10, MBP) and it seems to have problems creating panoramas from Leica Monochrom DNGs.
It only says "Unknown errors occured" (very helpful error-msg by the way!).
For a test i tried using NEF files from a NikonD700, and it works as expected.
The panoramas work fine in PSCC, so it seems to be a LR problem to me...
Would be neat if this could be made to work, as it would be great not to have to go outside of LR for this!
Thanks a lot!
ChrisYes it is that simple. Just do a google search for Lightroom and Photoshop preference file locations and you should find them. The next time you start the programs, they will rebuild them. Of course, you'll have to re-enter any custom preference settings you've used. Good luck. Of course, when you think you've located them. Just rename them and move them into another folder first. That way, if you've picked the wrong file, you can easily move it back. Once things are working, you can just delete them.
BTW, this is a good troubleshooting tool for any mac applications that are acting wonky. Just delete that preference file, and more often than not, the problem will be fixed. -
Hi guys, one question to those who works with panoramas and HDR - what's the best way to create panoramas from raw files (I use photoshop to merge photos into panoramas so I export them there)? When I make them from raw files PS transforms them into tiff and one panorama made of 2 photos weights 300mb. I wouldn't really want to make them in jpeg - is there any other way to keep them in non-lossy format but make them weight less?
Same question about HDR - from what format it's better to create HDR and on what format to save.
Thanks!I've shot and made over 100 panoramas using AutoPanoPro. I prefer to import the raw files in Aperture first, because I often want to adjust things like sharpening or white balance before the stitching process. Sometimes I even adjust exposure if I forgot to shoot in manual mode; I can equalize the exposure among the images before stitching. Then I export the versions to a folder on the hard drive.
At first I was super careful to export everything out of Aperture as tiffs but then one day I did some tests and found that exporting as jpeg at quality 12 was just as good. For a long time I saved the panoramas as tiffs but as you know they can be ginormous files, so I did some more tests and again, using jpeg at 12 didn't seem to hurt anything. For one thing, the resolution of some of the panoramas is so far beyond what is normal for printing (240-300 dpi) that using jpeg, even if it degrades a bit, just doesn't matter. I would rather have a very high resolution file in jpeg than a medium resolution file in tiff.
You mention making one panorama of 2 photos being 300MB in size. That doesn't seem right, seems too big.
If you're going to do panoramas seriously, you need to download the trial version of AutoPano Pro. Photoshop is the best at many things, but not making panoramas. http://www.autopano.net/
