Panorama function in Lightroom 6 delivers horrible results.

When I'm creating a panorama with lightroom 6 out of three .nef-Files (RAW with 36 Mio Pixles) I get horrible results. The generated .DNG is with a very low resolution and not usable. What can I do?

Never seen anything like that before. I export with resizing all the time. As long as the quality is somewhat up from 80% (100% is complete overkill) and I do appropriate output sharpening, the quality is always superb. Of course there is only so much you can do with a 1000 pixels so don't expect to zoom endlessly in on that. The ppi does not matter at all when you specify a size in pixels. Can you post an example?

Considering Purchase of Wacom Cintiq 27 HD Touch - Questions about Touch Functionality in Lightroom 5 & Photoshop CS6

I am considering purchase of a Wacom Cintiq 27 HD Touch monitor. I have a few questions relative to two Adobe programs and their use of "touch" functionality - Lightroom 5.7 and Photoshop CS6 running on Windows 7.
1. Have the problems related to touch functionality in Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 5 been resolved that you see on this and Wacom's forums from a year ago?
2. If so, is there enough value gained via touch functionality in Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CS6 to warrant the $500 difference in price between the Cintiq 27 HD vs HD Touch? (I realize that this is a subjective question based on the abundance of one's cash.)
3. I plan to stay with CS6 as long as humanly possible to avoid a monthly software subscription, BUT I do wonder if purchasing the HD Touch now may provide additional touch functionality in future versions of these software products that are not currently available. (So this is a pie in the sky sort of question.)

Photoshop Touch support is added in CC 2014.2.2. However Wacom tablets like the Intuos Pro with touch can be use with prior versions of Photoshop and the Wacom Tablets Configurator can customized the tablets touch features to be used with Photoshop. I do not use LR but I'm sure the same would be true for it. You can configure setting for many applications. The device driver knows which application its interfacing with and uses the setting set for each..
I disable most of touch when using Photoshop. The Main reason I have a tablet is Photoshop Brush type tools. Like eraser, clone stamp, etc nothing is better then a pen when it come to creating layer mask. For most programs I still use a mouse and I use the Keyboard, Mouse and Pen with Photoshop....

Click on Expert and the Enhance>Photomerge>Photomerge Panorama should be available

The documentation and help information shows a panorama function available from the drop-down menu, but there is no option in the software. Has that feature been dropped from the software?

Try this:
1) File >> New >> PhotoMerge Panorama
2) Select the option for the type
3) Click Browse button to select the image for this exercise (or simply Add the open files by using the button for all open filoes)
4) If you are browsing then select your images from your folders
6) Click OK
Hope these basic steps can help you (PSE 10; I don't have 11). I haven't dealt with correction of final output that is sometimes required.

No, I don't think that will be necessary. You didn't answer my question about what version you have been using. But I assume that it must be some version of Lightroom 5. Going on that assumption, here is the link you should go to in order to download the proper installer for Lightroom 5.7. You will need to delete the Lightroom program that you installed. Then, download from this website and install:

FR: Stitching/Panorama functionality

I think it would be very useful to have the ability to stitch images together a la the various panorama packages out there. Of course, I realise that this won't happen until the 10000x10000 pixel limitation on the picture size is dealt with first in the imaging engine. This is probably one of the few functions that is not currently provided by Lr that I would certainly find useful. So, for the time being I still use the Canon stitching software that came with the camera.

Don't get me wrong. I would have no trouble with the Photoshop CS3
photomerge in to Lightroom (more manual control also would be most welcome).
But, until the raise the image size there is no point. The problem is that
some people are complaining now about the 9,999 limit. I was complaining
during the beta and was told by all that I was an idiot and that the limit
wasn't even close to being an issue. Now back to the problem. The problem is
that I don't think this limit will be raised any time soon. For one thing
Adobe would also have to do this to ACR since LR uses ACR technology.
Second, Adobe would have to do more in LR when it came to handling virtual
memory, what little it has now isn't all that great and as far as I know ACR
doesn't have anything.
So I wouldn't go holding my breath. It is my opinion that since Adobe did
Lightroom from the ground up, they should have done it right right from the
start and the didn't. So already we are looking at some major overhauling.
Poor very poor design decisions, but that Adobe seems to do a lot of that.

Help with scroll function in Lightroom

I have two laptop on which I installed lightroom this afternoon.
Thinkpad T420, Windows 7 pro 64bit, all drivers up-to-date
Thinkpad X201, Windows 7 pro 64bit, all drivers up-to-date
The mouse scroll function is not working in Lightroom. It is functioning in all other software on the machines, including Nikon ViewNX. I have tried to solve the issue by uninstalling and reinstalling the Ultranav drivers from synaptic. No luck. I have also tried using just the trackpad, or just the trackpoint. I have tried changing the mouse focus to be whatever is below the pointer. No different. Please advise me on what I can do to solve this as without the scroll working, LR only slows down my workflow.

I'm having the exact same problem. My scroll wheel always controlled the sliders in the develop area. It mysteriously stopped doing so about 3-5 months ago. Not sure if some Windows update or what might have changed it. There are no settings in the mouse software other than how many lines the wheel scrolls at a time. I couldn't find anything in LR preferences, either. I've just been getting along w/o it but I miss the feature. I'm using the same Microsoft wireless mouse I've had for a couple of years so no idea what might have impacted this.
UPDATE: I'm embarrassed to say that I just got around to simply trying a different mouse. Hooked up a Logitech mouse and the scrolling functions all work just fine. I suspect my Microsoft mouse rec'd a driver update in the past 3-6 months and somehow disabled the scroll wheel function as it pertains to the sliders. The wheel is working in all other regards so I kept thinking it must be a setting in Lightroom that I had screwed up. I'm going to rollback the driver just out of curiousity but at least I have functionality back via the very simple fix of plugging in a different mouse.

example :

Result gives the position of character '/'.

Result gives length of the string - the last character.
Now ----

The result gives you the desired result after / here in your case the date

Increasing Bitrate for Encode resulting in horrible results

I've been migrating from Final Cut Studio to all the various Adobe alternatives and having an issue with Encore right now.
I've been successfully making DVDs and letting Encore automatically encode for me (As I often times end up making a BluRay as well of a project, this gives me the option of swapping out the footage and keeping the chapter markers intact). So far it's been working great and calculates things to within 20mb of utilizing all available disc space.
I'm having problems with my most recent project, however.
Initially it was going to be the standard warning video intro and a 1:45 video. Had everything encoded and it looked great (and the show video was 3.9GB). Then the client decided to add another 10 minute slideshow to things and everything...went downhill. Original encode still worked and fit on the disc, but in a moment of stupidity I thought it would be good to re-encode so I had everything fresh. And for some odd reason the show's size shrank from 3.9GB to 3.2GB, leaving over 500mb of unused space. It looked OK but I thought it would be good to reclaim the underutilized bitrate. And every effort to do so has resulted in really horrible lacing issue/jagged piano strings and lines footage on the DVD.
Not sure why given that all I've done is increase the Target Bitrate of the standard Transcode setting (NTSC DV 23.97 High Qulality 2 pass 4mb) from 4 to 5 mbps and the Pixel Aspect Ratio from Standard 4:3 to Widescreen 16:9 (thus increasing the Estimated File Size from 3212 to 3900)
The source clip is 720X480 (1.2121) 29.97fps, progressive
I've kept Field Order at "Automatic" (so think I'll try changing it to None (Progressive) in case it wasn't really doing it automatically).
Is there anything else? It's a pretty static concert one camera shot

That's what I'm afraid of I was hoping I was going to hear something like "the algorithn for bitrate doesn't like 5, try 4.8" or something like that..
I re-encoded as I noticed the default for Encore was 23.97 and as my footage is 29.97 (and output usually is 29.97 for DVD isn't it?) I wanted to see if it made a difference. And the answer is no...

I will try creating a new project and importing all the footage as fresh timelines, plus the main menu to access things, to see how an automatic encode changes via that workaround. Seems like an odd...bug? Lack of feature? not to be able to add things after one reaches a certain point in a project and having to start over from scratch (especially since I do a lot of tweaking of the menus by sending things back to Photoshop to get layout, highlights, etc just right and it's one of the features I love about Encore vs DVD Studio Pro or any other option I've looked at)

Export functions of Lightroom 3

I have lost the setting for "burn full size Jpegs" in the lightroom 3 export option. Can I redownload the program to get it back? I don't want to lose all the collections and other personal things I have built. I am planning to upgrade to the current LR version? Should I just do this and assume I will have everthing stay in place and add the proper functions I am missing???

Import Function problem Lightroom 5

I'm testing Lightroom 5 and it seems to be great, but the import function seems to be stupid! Even when I make a new folder in lightroom it doesn't import there, it makes a new folder in Lightroom using where the photos used to be! I've lost some now because of that! That's really annoying! Or is there something I don't understand?
