  • I can't find Pantone 2035 in version 17.02

    I can't find Pantone 2035 in version 17.02

Just FYI, I can't find it either. I found it on the pantone website http://www.pantone.com/pages/pantone/colorfinder.aspx?c_id=40659 and I am looking at the pantone solid coated library. It should be there between 203 and 204 but it's not.
Just to verify that I am looking in the right place
We can see that it's ordering the 4 digit numbers between the corresponding 3 digit numbers.

  • Can I replace Pantone color books in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop?

These new Pantone + books are a pain in ...well... you understand.  In my years as a designer, I have just clicked on the correct book and color swatch, but now...
I am using Windows 7 and the CS6 suite of products.  We have a company logo in which both main colors have dramatically changed with the new books.  I won't go into all of the tricks we've tried to be able to place it in new documents without the color changing.  I now think the only answer is to replace the color books as Adobe recommends.  I do have two questions, though.
First, can I change the books in all of my products?  Adobe only gives instructions for Illustrator and InDesign, but I regularly have to change vendor logos into our company colors in photoshop, and I am finding the color in Photoshop isn't the same when I bring that logo into Illustrator, even though they have the same number.
Second, what are the end results if I do change the books when I send a document to a printer?  We usually do our printing in-house, so I am wondering when we buy PMS 2955 if it will be what I see in the old books or the new books.  And what will an out-of-house printer be using?
My main two concerns are (1) seeing the correct color on screen and (2) printing the correct color.  I don't really care how I get there, but I'd like it to be a permanent fix so I don't have to go in and manipulate swatches every time I add a logo to an item.
    Thanks for any help!
BTW - haven't been to this new forum format and don't know if I am posting this in the right place.  If not, please help me find the correct location.  Thanks!

HI this is good. But i have already seen this.
Its very informative but somehow i felt it lacks the punch and fun factor in a video. I need something which captivates and entrances the audience, not a speech kind of a thing.
    Anything else??

  • Can not find pantone+ swatches in InDesign CS6, such as 2239c?

How do I find the pantone+ swatches in InDesign CS6, such as 2239c? It is not visible in the swatches panel? Can anyone else see this swatch in Indesign Cs6 or Illustrator Cs6?

From the Swatches panel Flyout menu, choose New swatch.
In the new swatch definition dialog, under Type choose Spot, and under Mode choose Pantone + Solid Coated.
There are some legacy colors that are not included inthe Pantone + series. You can add these to both ID and Illustrator by following the directions in Pantone Plus color libraries (Thanks, Vikrant ).
2239 isn't in my old swatchbooks as a spot color or the legacy books for the program, either. Are you sure that's a vaild number? Perhaps youpi really mean 223-9, a light blue-gray process color? If that's the case, you'd need to specify Process instead of Spot, and choose the appropriate book fromthe mode dropdown. The 223 series seems not be included in the + books, but it is inthe legacy books if you add them according to the instuctions in the link above.

  • How to create 2-color Pantone image from jpeg logo

Working in CS3 under XP, I need to convert a jpeg rvb image of a logo  into a 2-color pantone image to import it into an Illustrator file. I  can isolate the logo's two distinct colors using the select wand and  then tried filling the selections with the closest Pantone colors, but  the rvb layers still seem to exist. I have saved in .eps DCS2, but the  imported colors when sampled in Illustrator are still rvb/cmyk. Is there  a way to isolate the shapes/colors and then transfer them as vector  images into Illustrator, where I could fill them with the Pantone  colors? Or a simpler way not necessarily using Photoshop? Thanks very much!

Is this a vector image or pixels? EPS can be both.
Better than selecting it with automatic functions like magic wand is to draw it manually in Illustrator. If it already is vector (like shape layers), then you can just copy the paths from Photoshop and paste into Illustrator.

  • How do I use the color picker in Photoshop CC it will not pull in my swatches and how do I change swatches to another pallet from pantone?

  • Error #2035 i'm at a loss. Ready to give up.

So i bought a template from Flashmint.com, then made some changes, and went to go test it out..went to the URL and the first thing I'm hit with is the loading bar, and "error #2035" figured it was something small, contacted tech support of the template.  Thinking it was a template issue, having them slowly help me figure it out, i got partly the template working.
I soon got it so it can load the whole thing, but I was getting another error loading some media files..Started with a #3xxx can't remember exactly.
The template works PERFECTLY fine in Internet Explore, and i have had a few friends test it out in chrome.  In Fire Fox is where I'm having the issue, it will load one time, and then not the next time.
I'm beginning to think its my host, but that techsupport is saying its something with the flash, however, i uploaded it on a free host and the template works perfectly fine in firefox on the host.
This is the one that doesnt work in fire fox:
    http://esfvisions.com/test/
    OR
    http://esfvisions.com/test2/
the one that DOES work in FireFox:
    http://evanfphotos.x10.mx/Flash_website/
They all work 100% fine in Internet Explore, and Chrome. I'm having the issues in FireFox.
Just for the record, my website is hosted on Debia. From Fatcow.com
Message was edited by: 06fg2 - I have re-installed firefox, and it worked for some time. I have also deleted Cookies, and Cache. Works, then it goes back to the same thing.

I tired what you suggest..This is all i'm getting.
http://esfvisions.com/test2/ the same error, but it just loads off to the side. No other error suggestions or anything.
The steps all i did was: open Flash -> open main.fla -> File -> publish settings -> flash -> permit debugging -> publish -> re-upload -> and thats that. I changed main.html to index.html since i'm assuming thats what needed to be done.

  • How do I add Pantone Color Books to Illustrator CC?

I'm used to using the Pantone Process color book in illustrator, but it's missing from my Illustrator CC. How can I add it? I had it at work, so I assume it is a standard color book, because my work never paid for anything extra. I see I have a Pantone+ CMYK Coated color book, but the names of the swatches are different from Pantone Solid to Process color book I'm used to.

oh. then you are requesting for the old pantone books?
    here you go
    Dropbox - pantones.zip
let me know when you've got it because i'd like to delete it.

  • Can't type Pantone values in the Color Picker with Ai CS6

    Hi Illustrators,
I'm running Design and Web Premium CS6 on a Windows 7 machine. I was recently using Ai's Recolor Artwork dialogue for a CMYK document. I wanted to convert my 4 color artwork to Pantone solid coated. I decided to chose some different Pantones. In older versions of Illustrator I could easily open the Color Picker, click on a Pantone value and then just type in a new value to scroll to it. This is no longer the case with Ai CS6.
Does anyone know of a work around?

Thanks for getting back. It works on Photoshop CS6 (64bt) but not so with Ai
As long as I'm griping on lost features. Here's another great one that's gone with the CS6 wind...
In the Swatch Options, you used to be able to scroll through the Color Modes by holding Shift and clicking on the square color preview icon. You used to also be able to get the compliment on the fly by holding Control (Windows) / Command (Mac) and clicking on the same icon. Neither feature works anymore.

  • Pantone colour books missing in Illustrator CC 2014

    Hi,
I am having an issue in Illustrator CC 2014 with a specific Pantone colour book.
The 'Pantone 4-color process guide coated Euro' guide does not show up in the colour books menu. The Pantone colour reference numbers such as DE 35-1 C and DE 156-2 C do not appear in any of the colour books.
Is my Pantone colour guide outdated, or am I missing something?
    Thank you!

Never mind.  I finally just closed Illustrator and opened it back up, and TA-DA! It's back...just more weirdness from an Adobe product...I should have guessed so.

  • Can I easily match Pantone colors using Illustrator?

    Hi all,
I run a small invitation supply company.
Our primary design tool up until now has been Photoshop Elements.
We recently purchased a $6000 printer from Xerox which is the 'gold standard' for graphic arts and Pantone approved.
We also have a pantone color bridge. When I print a color using the hex code, the color looks NOTHING like the pantone swatch.
I contacted Xerox and they told me that because Elements has a very low degree of color management that we will never be able to easily color match our pantone swatches and that they aren't surprised the color is way off.
I suppose I naively figured that spending $6000 on a printer would get us easy and flawless color matching. Xerox says- not so.
They suggested investing in Illustrator and they are convinced that it will be much more likely to get us to the point that we want. Ultimately I want to be able to pick a color from the pantone deck, enter the code, and feel confident that the print will come out 100% the corresponding color.
Am I living a pipe dream?
I would like some feedback before proceeding.
On top of the financial investment, obviously there is a lot of time that my partner and I will have to spend learning Illustrator.
    Any input would be great.
    Thanks,
    Aaron

Am I living a pipe dream?
    Yes.
More precisely, you are just failing to understand the fundamental difference between spot color and process color.
I want to be able to pick a color from the pantone deck, enter the code, and feel confident that the print will come out 100% the corresponding color.
Not gonna happen, even if you do all the tedious color management setup you can.
The above assumes you are, in fact, talking about matching Pantone spot colors. (Pantone does not just publish spot color swatches, but that is the usual sense in which beginners refer to Pantone.)
A spot color is, by definition, an actual, physical, single ink which is loaded into a press. The only way to achieve your 100% pipedream is to load that actual, physical, single ink into your $6000 printer.
But that's how a printing press works, not how your $6000 printer works. It works by printing four "primary colors" of inks and then arranging tiny dots of them in proximity to each other in order to "trick" the eye into seeing them as a mixture of colors on the page in proportions which try to approximate the spot color as best it can.
But physical inks are simply not accurate enough to actually do that. There are many, many spot colors which simply cannot be replicated by mixing arrays of primary colors of inks. That's what all this "gamut" talk is about. That's one reason why spot color inks exist.
The Pantone spot color matching system is a means by which to consistently communicate proportional mixtures of actual, real, physical inks of known specific colors. All anyone (including Pantone) can do with the CMYK inks (or dyes) in a desktop printer is try to recommend percentages of those CMYK inks to best approximate a match to an actual, physical spot color ink.
It gets worse. Your monitor cannot actually match a spot color ink swatch, either. Your monitor glows. Ink doesn't. Even on tediously calibrated systems, there is more to perceived "color" than just numerical values of CMYK or RGB or HSL or Lab. There is chroma. There is reflectance. There is opacity. There is grain.
Then there's the whole matter of the incredibly context-sensitive adaptabability of human vision.
So if you are selling the output of your $6000 printer as the final product, you should not use Pantone spot color swatches as any kind of contract color specification, because your printer cannot actually print spot color inks. If you're doing color-critical work that the customer will refuse when specified colors don't match, you and your customer must specify colors which your device can actually produce.

  • Why can't I find certain Pantone plus colors in Illustrator CS6 color books?

Why can't I find certain Pantone plus colors in Illustrator CS6 color books? For example I want to use PMS 2296C, but it is not coming up in the color swatch book in Illustrator.

    Thanks!
I actually just came across the same thing in the meantime.
    And it worked!
If you bought the physical Pantone books, there is a registration/serial number on the back. You can go to Pantone and register it (https://www.pantone.com/pages/MYP_myPantone/mypProductRegistration.aspx)
Then you're able to download the Pantone manager.
There are infact 336 new colors added to the Pantone Plus series. And this is where you need to get them. Once you have them, in Pantone color manager, you go to: File/Export/Adobe Illustrator/sRB. Then restart Illustrator.
Once you go back in, the new 336 colors are available!

  • CS5.5 Can't see Pantone Color Bridge libraries!

    Hello there!
I am using Creative Suite CS5.5 Trial version for now on Windows 7 platform. For some reason I don't see Pantone Color Bridge libraries, only the old ones, but none of the Plus Series. I was able to see these colors on version 5, but not here. Can't see them on Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign. I wonder if CS5.5 supports these colors. I even downloaded a plugin from Pantone and Pantone Color Manager, but with no luck. I contacted Pantone, but still waiting for a response. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
