Pantone Find Field issue

We just got Illy CS4 at work (Mac OS 10.5.6), and the first thing I tested was the Find Field in the Pantone Swatches Palette (the coated swatches, to be specific). An issue that has existed since CS1 was a bug when typing in certain numbers, typically ones ending in "5". When I type in 485, it defaults to 1485. When I type in 484, it goes right to 484. I've grown accustomed to just typing in 484 when I want to go to 485, but I'm not too thrilled about needing to do this. I know this issue has been brought up before, but I didn't see it in the forum when I did a search (probably years ago, now).
I use the "small thumbnail" view, but it seems to occur when using the "list view" as well.
Anyone else notice this problem, and any idea if it'll ever get fixed?

This space before option only works for some instancts.

Workaround for compressor HDV to DVD field issue?

I need a work around for the field issue apparent when down-converting HDV to DVD.
The Bonsai method <http://www3.telus.net/bonsai/Welcome.html> will not work, as there is too much motion and a side effect of the "fastest" conversion is that it gives a 3-d ghosting effect on fast motion in the frame.
I can not convert to 720P60 or 480P, as FCP converts it to 30P and then doubles the frames, and the motion is jittery.
I could dump it to camera and then down-convert in camera, but I have heard this is not a great method either.
I have seen in another forum to save the HDV timeline in FCP as a HDV quicktime movie, and then import that into DVD studio pro and have it down-convert, but DVD studio pro says this is an "incompatible file".
How do I get 1080i HDV footage onto a DVD so that it looks acceptable?

I had a similar problem with HDV (1080i shot on Cannon HV-20) footage, looks great in post and terrible when converted (herringbone lines and too many artifacts.) I’ve successfully used the Bonsai method on another piece I did but the footage was shot on a HVX-200 at 720 24p and there were no “action” shots. I wasn’t as successful using the method using 1080i footage and it definitely didn’t help with the fast motion shots. I did a search in this forum on HD to SD and there are a lot of helpful hints and methods. I experimented with a lot of the suggestions but in the end I was able to produce very nice and acceptable results by doing the following:
1] I didn’t create an SD sequence; I exported the footage as a Quicktime movie (self contained) straight from my HDV sequence.
2] I dropped the Quicktime file into Compressor and selected 90-minute DVD Anamorphic Best 2-pass VBR. Running Compressor from Final Cut ties up your system as well as there seems to be a delay between the handoff from Final Cut to Compressor (running the latest 5.x version and 2.3.) Creating a Quicktime file frees your system and it’s debatable if you actually compress faster or take a hit on quality. I’ve tested both from Final Cut and using a Quicktime file and didn't see any real difference in quality.
3] Change the field dominance from Top to Progressive in the tab where you see 2-Pass VBR Best and also in the encoding tab (not in front of my system so I can’t recall the name or order of the icons). In the encoding tab you will notice it says “same as source.” The pull down will show you Top, Bottom, Progressive, Automatic…I tried them all and in various combinations and anything other than progressive in both tabs produced undesirable results.
4] The options for Fast, Good, Better and Best in the other encoding pull down sections are a matter of preference and patience. Selecting Best in all categories takes a really long time to compress (36 hours for a 9-minute piece using a Mac Pro 3.0GHz dual-core Intel with 4GB ram.) I ran tests using different combinations and found that selecting the default settings is decent and stepping each category up to the next level helped but not enough to warrant the long compression cycle to stick with Better across the board. When you do your testing, it’s best to use as little footage as possible or you will find yourself waiting too long to see the actual results. I used a 1-second (29 frames) shot of a girl twirling around, hair flying everywhere, and girls next to her using hula-hoop’s.
5] Use the sliding bar in the viewer to see the impact of your choices before submitting the job. To the right you will see the “original” footage and to the left you can see the results of your selection. You can move the bar across the footage to see (approximately) the end results.
6] One thing I did notice is that no matter what settings I use, the output is slightly darker (reds were deeper, skin tones were warmer and not as smooth), but hey, you are going from HDV to SD so it’s not going to be perfect.

Color library find field finds only one color!

Am I missing some little trick here? When I try to type a Pantone color number into my Pantone library finder field I get one color all the time: Pantone 108 M! Is there key combo for this field?
Is this just as bad as Photoshop's "type in a Color number' suggestion while opening a color menu( and there is no finder field to type into)?

Prefixing the search string with a space is probably the best thing to do.
While you're probably thinking of it as a numerical search, it's not. It's a
text search.
What the search command does is first look for a swatch starting with the characters you type in. For example, if you type in "lo", it will first look for colors starting with "lo", like maybe Loden Green. But if it finds none, it will then look for the first swatch name
containing "lo", and will match to "Yellow".
Characters are concatenated into the search string if they occur within the double-click time. Otherwise it starts over with a new string.
When you type in numbers, the digits are just treated as characters, no differently than "lo" above.
Since the Pantone libraries are not sorted in numerical order, but semi-alphabetically, if you are searching for something like "613", it will find the substring match in Pantone 2613 before it will the one in Pantone 613. By typing in " 613", you prevent a match in 2613, etc. (By the way, it isn't true that all the 4-digit Pantone colors end in 5, although it is true that all the Pantone colors in the 1000's end in 5. The 2000's contain a lot of colors ending in 3 and 7. I think they kind of treat 4 digit colors almost like they had an implicit decimal point between the third and fourth digits, and tried to space them out evenly.)
The substring search is mainly meant to accomodate color book libraries, where a lot of colors have the same prefix, so that you don't have to type in "Pantone 418". It should probably be changed to do a
three-step search instead of a two-step search, first looking for the characters at the beginning of the swatch name, then if none is found looking for the characters at the beginning of a word (i.e., preceded by a space or punctuation), and only if no word match is found to look for an arbitrary substring match. Under these revised rules, "ye" would match "light yellow" in preference to "Bye Bye Blackbird", even though the latter comes earlier in the alphabet.

How can I open a PDF file and enter a word in the Find field from the command line?

I want to use a PDF file as the help file of another program.
I have found somewhere an incomplete description of the command line parameters of Acrobat Reader.
It described how to open a file and jump to its given page.
I have written the following batch file based on that.
rem Open pdf (prm1) with Acrobat reader at given page (prm2)

The following batch file opens the search dialog:
rem Open pdf (prm1) with Acrobat reader

I need the simple find field instead of the complicated search window.

Default value in Find field of CRMD_ORDER

Is there a way of changing the default value of the Find field in the Find tab of transaction CRMD_ORDER to the value "1 All"?

Did you try setup settings of this window using extras ->settings ? If you check field 'open last transaction last processed' than will be open last processed message.
Also check this post http://scn.sap.com/thread/1362888 maybe if you can use crm_dno_monitor with variant or solman_workcenter tcode (it depends of solman version).

Does the 10.5.7 update address command+f finder search issues?

Does the 10.5.7 update address command+f finder search issues?
Search has been horrible under 10.5 in that it does not reliably find FOLDERS on network drives, only file names.
Even when I am looking directly at a folder and I search for it will not appear in the command+f window.
Also the stupidity of not allowing a specific search location.
Has this been addressed? I have, at any given time, 3-4 mounted servers.
I do not have a choice now to search a specific hard drive.
10.4.11 gave me the option under "OTHERS" to select a specific place to search.
The only choice I have in 10.5.2 is "SHARED". Which searches all drives when I only want to search one. Nor do I have a choice of searching just one of my two internal drives.
I talked with Chris in apple engineering several months ago, who acknowledged that search problems are a known issue under 10.5 and this was being addressed but have not heard any more. I don't want to download an update unless these broken search issues have been fixed. This is a production machine and I cannot have downtime in the Dept.

When i create G/L Account Centrally i can no t find "Field Status group" as the picture showed. Before i do this, i have already defined the field status groupd and assign this to the company code J610. However i can not find "Field Status group" in Tcode FS00.
Please help me on this! Very appreciated!

1. Go to transaction code OBD4
2. Double Click on Account Group
3. Double Click on Document Entry
Check whether Field status group is Suppress.

Find Field on Forms of related lookup columns

Dear SharePoint Comunity
I created several lists in SharePoint 2013 and link the Information using lookup columns. However, if a list has over 100 entries it is almost impossible to work with the resulting Dropdown fields. I researched quite a bit and found only solution to
provide filtered or cascading Dropdowns. Since there is nothing I can filter i would prefer an Option to have a find field, similar to one where i find People in SharePoint lists, to select the list value.

I gave yor Suggestion a shot. I don't think it is what I Need. Let me explain what I am trying to accomplish in SharePoint. We want to make a small B2C CRM tool. Basically I have a list of leads, contacts, companies, Tasks and calendar entries. The lead
list is the main source if Information. I want to link the contacts and companies to leads and leads to Tasks and calendar entries. I created custom Display forms to Show all related Tasks and calendar entries when I Display a lead and I see all related leads
when I Display a contanct.Everything works fine. With a growing number of entries in all those lists, the Dropdown fields with the lead titles cannot be handeled any longer.

My Ipod nano 4th generation just turned off and I can't restart it. Tried all the troubleshooting tips. Can't find the issue.

My three year old ipod nano 4th generation has been working fine all these years. Suddenly, last week, while it was low on battery (not completely drained), it shut down and I cannot restart it. I have tried all the troubleshooting issues and still did not manage to turn it on. Though. when I press center and menu while connected to my computer, the computer bips has if it recognized that something is trying to connect. Though, it cannot identify it and the iPod remains shut down. I cannot find the issue, perhaps I need a battery replacement?

It's possible. Just take the iPod to an Apple store or an AASP. Whichever is more convenient for you.

Find field that in screen

How to find field name based on screen field name

I need to find field name at run time based on screen field name for doing some check.

Find/Replace Issue

I have a very long list of names I need to edit and hundreds have ^^ before their name I need to change to >> and hundreds have ^ after their name I need to change to >
I cant seem to change the ^^ before names without it also changing the ^ after the name.
tried whole word and quotes but that did not help either.

Yer welcome.
If you happen to use CS3 or CS4, use GREP to save a bit more time. That'll do the trick with just a single replace.
In the Find field, type
>\^\^(.*?)\^
and in the Replace field,
>>>$1>
Then hit Replace All. Note the different escape character, as this is GREP, which has different rules. (The caret still needs escaping because it is also a special GREP character.)
If you need to do this on more than one file, click the diskette icon at the top of the dialog. Give it a reasonable name, and it's ready to be recalled whenever needed.

Just to make sure I undestand you (I am having the same problem...my video looks jagged and not very sharp).
You're saying to creat a new sequence that is the 720 x 480 10 Bit Uncompressed?
And then in Settings under field dominance set that to NONE and motion filtering quality to Best. When I put my sequence into this uncompressed timeline, do I need to render it or can I just go straight to compressor? Does it matter?
Are there any settings within Compressor to change, such as Deinterlacing, field dominance (progressive, lower/even, upper/odd), blur, anti-aliasing?
I am using HDV 1080i60 Codec to shoot in and edit.

LOV Find field initialisiation

Is there a way of initialising the "Find" field in a LOV and causing the LOV to filter the list displayed by what the "Find" field has been set?

You can also use a seperate control field and reference the field in the LOV select statement. This can also be more efficient as the database applies the restriction whereas restrict functionality fetches the whole list from the database before restricting it locally.
