[PAP2] Configuring Multiple Service Providers for Outgoing Calls

I'm trying to configure my PAP2 with Gizmo project (for incoming calls) and VOIPCheap (for outgoing calls).
I tried to use the dialplan:
(xx.<:@voipcheap.host.xxx:5060; usr=myvoipcheapuserid; pwd=myvoipcheappassword; >)
But this doesn't seem to work. But when I configure the line for the VOIPCheap provider, then I am able to make calls through that account.
Can someone help me configure my PAP2 adapter please?
Thank you very much in advance.
Sekhar.

I shall have found this post a bit earlier... sik!
I have 2 PAP2T 'listenning' to 3 different providers (1 is common); that works... but to be optimal, both ATAs should allow using a 4th provider for outgoing calls.
The ATA administration guide shows an example of a dial plan such as <8,:1408>xxxxxxx<:@pstn.Linksys.com:5061;usr=joe;pwd=joe_pwd;nat>
Unfortunately, it applies for AG310 and SPA3102...
VoIP_Addict, I guess that if you did find some time to 'play' with this, you can only confirm what has been said in this post, right?

• CUCM: Third Party SIP Phone "Caller ID" is not displaying for outgoing calls

Hi Team,
we are running CUCM 9.1(2a),
we have integrated Third Party SIP Phone(Avaya 1230 SIP Phone) with CUCM,
Issue: Third Party SIP Phone "Caller ID" is not displaying for outgoing calls, we are able to see only the dailed Number,
When "A" calls to "B", "A" can see only the dailed number of "B" but not the "Caller ID"
Regards
Ananthakumar

Are A and B both Avaya phones?
So it looks like you're not seeing the alerting name/connected name getting updated then? Do you have alerting names configured on the directory numbers? Might need to take a look at the SIP messaging to see if the alerting name/connected name is being sent to the Avaya phones and maybe they just aren't displaying it. Might just be something that needs to be tweaked in the 46xxsettings.txt file.

• Fax line used for outgoing calls when incomming fax not coming in?

So is there a way to do this? Can I route the 1 FXO to FXS for incomming calls (and plug fax into FXS) or something like this and then use that line as an outgoing line when not in use?
I don't need step but steps but the basics of how something like this could be configured would be awesome!!!

I'm not sure if I understand. I set this up, so I understand phone systems enough to do this, but I don't really don't know the terminoligy.
Let me back up.
Currently our business has 2 lines and a fax line. Right now the two lines are plugged into 2 FXO ports and the fax line is just plugged into the fax machine--not the UC320. We're in mixed mode, not pbx specifically. We get one or two faxes a day and we send two or 3 faxes a day. We'd like to be able to use the fax line for outgoing calls when it's not being used for fax.
So I need to be able to control the in and the out of the fax line. I need all incomming calls for the fax number routed to what I assume would be the FXS port (with the fax machine plugged into the FXS port), and none of the other lines routed in this way (the other lines would go to the attendant).
Then I need if we send a fax, we need for when the fax machine opens the line for it to automatically be routed to the fax line. Then the fax machine can dial and send faxes. I think we send few enough faxes that we're not too worried about what happens if we try to send a fax and the phone is busy, but it would be nice to be able to look at a phone and tell if the fax line is in use.
I don't really care if the Fax line is part of a shaed FXO, it can be a seperate choice on the phone for making outgoing calls (one of the buttons next to the screen or something).
Is all this possible? Is it only possible in PBX style or is mixed ok?

• Configuring multiple services in a single instance database

Dear All,
I would like to create multiple service names for a single instance oracle database (10.2.0.3 on IBM - AIX 6.1). I tried searching on the net, reading documentation, and also on the metalink but couldn't find anything relevant to single instance database.
Say I have two users, userA and userB, for which I would like to use two services (ServA and ServB) to connect to the same single instance database.
Any help in this direction is appreciated.

By the time you answered I was able to locate it in the documentation. I have tested it and its working perfectly. Here's the documenation link.

It is very hard to believe you didn't find this in the documentation, and my suspicion is you didn't search for it at all.It is very hard to believe that you don't trust others and end up in suspicion. I wish you were sitting next to me while I was searching for the link/document.It is because the vast majority of doc questions are asked by people who don't read the docs at all.
Now, I'm curious about your requirement. While it can be done, it is pretty unusual. That always leads me to want to step back from the technical question and ask What business problem is this solving?

Configure in SPRO> MRP> Planning> Define spl.procurement key.
In this assign Issue plant as X.
Run MRP for plant Y. System create Stock transport req in plant Y.
Convert this req into stock transport order.

• Question on service userid - for RFC call

Hi
In XI 3.0 SP18 , we are making a RFC call from XI mapping runtime - to XI's ABAP stack - RFC function module . In the RFC receiver communication channel , I tried using service user XIISUSER , XIAPPLUSER for this RFC call - I got short dumps on XI ABAP stack mentioning that these two service users do not have authorization to make RFC calls -
Does anybody out there know what service user on XI has RFC call authorization that can used to make RFC calls onto XI ABAP stack from its mapping runtime ?
Correct answers will be rewarded rightaway. Thanks for your time in advance.

Hi,
u have to make entry in sld...
Hi,,
2 Introduction
Configuring IDoc adapter in Exchange Infrastructure 3.0 requires some configuration on the SAP
systems, for both XI and the backend system where the IDoc message is to be sent. These steps, although
simple, are many times missed or mis-configured, causing the delivery of messages to fail.
Since IDoc adapter uses the ABAP stack, instead of J2EE, the configuration requirements are mainly in
ABAP.
Setting up IDoc adapters requires the XI integration server to be able to communicate with the backend
SAP system, and also to make sure that the Logical System Name used when posting IDoc exists on the
backend SAP system.
3 The Step By Step Solution
The basic steps for the IDoc configuration are outline below:
1. Configure SM59 on XI to communicate to SAP backend system.
2. Configure port on XI for IDoc communication.
3. Create or verify the Logical System Name on the SAP backend system.
4. Create or verify business system in XI’s System Landscape Directory.
5. Verify the Logical System Name of the business system.
6. Verify or add the Logical System Name for the sender business system.
7. Create/configure the Communication Channel for the IDoc receiver adapter
3.1 Configure SM59 on XI to communicate to SAP backend system.
1. Using transaction SM59, create an RFC destination with Connection Type = “3”.
In this example, the RFC destination name is “NDVCLNT510”.
2. Enter the logon information:
3. Test the connection by clicking on “Testing connection” and “Remote logon”.
Both must be successful.
3.2 Configure port on XI for IDoc communication.
4. Go to transaction IDX1 on XI, and create a port. In this example, the Port name is “SAPNDV”.
• The Port name must be in the form of “SAPxxx”, where xxx is the system ID of the backend SAP
system.
• The Client must be the client number of the backend SAP system.
• Select the RFC Destination which was created in the previous step.
3.3 Create or verify the Logical System Name on the SAP backend system.
5. Enter transaction SALE on the SAP backend system.
6. Create or verify the Logical System Name. In our example, NDVCLNT510 is verified.
3.4 Create or verify business system in XI’s System Landscape Directory.
The business system name for the SAP backend system must contain a valid Logical System Name. This Logical System Name is the one verified or created in the previous step.
7. In the System Landscape Directory, select the SAP backend business system. If one does not exist, then create the business system. Verify the Logical System Name.
3.5 Verify the Logical System Name of the business system.
8. In the Integration Directory, doubleclick on the business system (in our example, it is NDVCLNT510).
Navigate the menu:
Service • Adapter Specific Identifiers.
If information is empty or incorrect, then it will have to be synchronized with the content of the System Landscape Directory. Follow the steps below for synchronization.
9. (Optional) Synchronization of the business system in Integration Directory to the business system in System
Landscape Directory.
• Double-click on the business system in the Integration Directory.
• Switch to Edit mode.
• Select menu: Service • Adapter-Specific Identifiers
10. (Optional) Within the dialog box, click on the button as indicated below to resynchronize.
11. (Optional) If the expected data from the System Landscape Directory is not updated, then the SLD cache may need to be cleared first.
3.7 Create/configure the Communication Channel for the IDoc receiver adapter.
15. In the Integration Directory, create an IDoc receiver communication channel.
• The RFC Destination is from step 3.1.
• The Port is from step 3.2.
NOTE:
There is no need to create an IDoc sender Communication Channel for XI. Instead, the backend SAP system must be configure to send the IDoc to XI.
4 Appendix
Transaction: IDX2
There are a couple of situation where IDX2 can be useful on the XI system.
1. When we want to test connection between the XI and SAP backend system.
2. When an IDoc has changed, and the meta data stored in XI needs to be update. When an IDoc is sent from the SAP backend system to XI, XI will first check to see if the meta data for the IDoc is already in its persistent cache. If not, then XI will use the configuration in IDX1 to retrieve the IDoc meta data from the backend system. If the
meta is already in cache, then it will NOT do so. Therefore, when an IDoc has changed, it is necessary to manually update the new meta data on XI, or delete it from the cache, so that the latest version can be retrieved. IDX2 is used for this purpose.
Go to transaction IDX2 and click on “Create”.
Enter the IDoc Type and the Source Port as defined in step #2. Click “Continue”.If successful, the following will show up. If error occurs, then the IDX1 configurations will need to be re-checked.
Reward points if find useful.

• Source IP for outgoing calls

Running Exchange 2013 CU1.
IP gateway is expecting SIP to come from a specific IP address. Is there any way to configure outgoing calls to the UM IP gateway to send from a specific IP address?

Sorry, I know this is old, but with 2013 you'd either need to assign UM services to a single box or alternatively, change your gateway to route to and accept calls from a few IPs.

Turns out we an Active Directory instance where we have two distinct User Base DNs we would like to use, without overlap, but they share the Group Base DN.
What is the best practice to configure this? I think we could use the parent DN, but that would basically include the whole of the directory for users and groups, will that impact performance?

Hi Alexandre,
You might find this helpful - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10761_01/doc/oam.1014/b32420/v2authen.htm#BABJCHEJ. The text "suppose the user requests a resource that is protected by a form-based authentication scheme that redirects the user to a form with several options for logging in. When the user selects a login method on the form, he or she is again redirected, this time to a form containing a certificate-based authentication scheme." suggests that what you want to achieve is possible. If you do get this configured and working the way you want, can you please share with the forum?

• Change iPhone number for outgoing calls from mac (Yosemite)

I have two iPhones, and one of the iPhone is set for iPhone cellular calls (handoff) in macbook under FaceTime preference. How to change this number so that I can make outgoing calls from different iPhone?

Hi,
If you Erased the Drive and set up the computer anew it will depend on how you migrated/imported your Mac User Account (if you even did).
Mostly the process will make the Mac seen as a "New" computer.
In some cases this will means settings that involve some sort of "pairing" will not work.
You may also get to the point of having 5 "devices" linked to iTunes because of this.
I have G4 that is coming up on 121 years old.
It has 4 drive bays and some of the drives are partitioned.
It will boot into OS 9 and every version of OS X up to and including Leopard (OS X 10.5)
I have tended to Clone the current set up and then Update the main Drive.
It does mean though that iTunes counts them all individually.
On top of that I have a Snow Leopard MacBook Pro and my current Yosemite booted iMac (It also has Older OSes on External Drives)
The outcome is that you might have to re-link the two devices.

• How do you change home city for outgoing calls

I am trying to figure out how to change my the city that displays on the other phone when I make an outgoing call. Any way to change this?

No, it's not possible to change that, at least not without changing your phone number. The other person's phone is getting information from the network based on your area code and exchange (or whatever they're called where you live).

• Setting a time limit for outgoing calls SPA3102

I need to put a time limit, say, 5 min, on outgoing calls with a certain prefix (are code). Is it possible with SPA3102 dialplan or otherwise? Thanks.

Based on my best knowledge - no, it's not possible with just SPA3102 only.
It is switch (PBX) job to terminate the call.

• What are the advantages of utilizing a dynamic VI compared to utilizing the VI Call Configuration Dialog Box Reload for each call option?

Is it more efficient to use a dynamic VI or utilize the VI Call Configuration Dialog Box which apparently can perform the same function? I realize that there are restrictions on using the VI Call Configuration Dialog Box, however, if my scenario doesn't concern the restrictions, why would I want to go thru the trouble of creating a dynamic VI when I could simply click on the VI of interest and configure from a menu? Are there performance advantages? Thanks in advance!

Generally, I wouldn't recommend playing with the call setup dialog at all (for those who don't know it, you can get to it by right clicking a subVI in the BD). By default, VIs are configured to load with callers and that's the correct options for almost all static VIs. The Open VI Reference primitive has multiple advantages:
It allows you to select different VIs dynamically.
It allows you to spawn multiple copies of reentrant VIs.
It allows you to perform asynch runs (although I think that this is something that should actually be available through the call setup dialog).
It allows you to open references to VIs in other application instances.
In the rare cases where you do want the same functionality that the call setup dialog gives you, it doesn't hide it.
Try to take over the world!
