Paper Gets Ejected

I am using reports 6i. Report is Bitmapped.
My report has 8.5 inches width and 5.5 inches height.
I am using Panasonic dot matrix printer.
I want that after printing my report that is of 5.5 inch height, the paper should not get ejected but it should stop at 5.5th inch.
Any help will be appreciated.

From reports 6i, this is not possible. You might want to check the printer side any settings.

I have a Seagate Slim Portable 500 GB USB 3.0 external hard drive that worked great with my Macbook Pro 13" Retina but gets ejected and won't show files on any iMac. My Macbook Pro and the two different iMacs I tried it on were all using Mountain Lion, so the only difference was the iMac versus Macbook Pro.

I just tried this, no luck...
I connected a different USB cable, still the same problem. Tried both cables with the problematic hard drive on two different computers, still the same problem.
At this point I assume I'll probably need professional help in saving the files, thanks for the assistance.

Any CD or DVD i put in keeps getting ejected

I cant figure out what to do for this problem. I can't even use my Mac OS install disc 1 because that gets ejected too. Up to 10 seconds after putting in a disc it gets kicked back out. I hope theres an easy solution. I hope someone can help.

I didn't save the message. But basically what you do if your experiencing this problem go to your applications go to utilities click disk utilities and click on your HD in left hand corner and run a verify permissions and repair test. Hopefully this will eradicate the problem of your ejecting disk. After running a repair test turn off your computer start it up again then pop in a disk and see if it runs without ejecting prematurely.

Can't Erase HD because cd keeps getting ejected

So im trying to erase all my data but everytime i reboot my mac and press C the cd will get ejected and restarting normally. IT's driving me crazy, any thoughts?

Are you using the Application Restore disk or the System Restore disk?
Is the disk the one that was included with your computer?
Have you tried option booting?
if you boot normally, dose the computer recognize the disk? Will the computer recognize other DVDs? What about other CDs?

It's always helpful if you mention the model number of the printer.
In general, jams are caused by dirty print rollers, and mis-aligned paper guides.
Best to check your manual for a faster answer.

DVD gets ejected automatically

When I insert a commercial DVD or a burned DVD. It get ejected after 2 seconds. I used to be able to watch DVDs but now I can't. Could you please help.

Hmm. Ordinarily I'd suggest putting in a lens-cleaning CD, but it sounds like there may be some mechanical problem if no CD/DVDs at all play. Have you tried booting off a CD/DVD? (If you could do that, then it may be a software/OS issue instead of a hardware issue).

HD DVD keeps getting ejected

I have a new BBC HD DVD that is for the right region and it keeps getting ejected by my iMac after about a minute of trying. My iMac plays every other DVD I have - any suggestions?

Leopard Disc Gets Ejected

When I insert the leopard disc into my DVD drive, the disc gets ejected right away without even appearing on my desktop. I am updating the software from 10.3.9, and Apple says that I should be able to update my software from 10.3 to 10.5 without a problem.
Also, The software I have is from a family pack and I just used the disc to install Leopard on my MacBook Pro, and it worked just fine. Ive tried the disc in my MacBook, and it too could recognize the disc.
My CD/DVD drive recognizes all other discs that I have, it just ejects the Leopard one.

Target disk mode can work both ways. You can install to the computer that's in Target Disk mode, or you can install from it as well.
To install TO the drive (from another computer):
1. Boot the computer into target disk mode
2. connect it to a second computer using a firewire cable
3. Boot the second computer off the DVD and run the installer from that computer.
4. Install to the first computer's hard drive.
To install FROM another computer's DVD drive (using the main computer):
1. Boot the second computer into target disk mode
2. Connect it to the first using a firewire cable
3. Insert the DVD in the second computer
4. Reboot the first computer and hold the "options" key
5. In the resulting boot screen, select the leopard installer DVD (it will appear as a hard drive).
6. Click the arrow and the installer should boot.
NOTE: You can also boot from the other computer's hard drive, so be sure to select the one that's labeled as the leopard install DVD

Tiger install disk gets ejected, won't mount

Hello. I'm trying to upgrade my G5 to Tiger. The disk won't mount and gets ejected after about 30 seconds. I'm able to mount the Panther DVD. Any ideas? Thanks

Is it a retail boxed version of Tiger or a restore copy that was included with another computer?
You'll want to get the retail version to upgrade your G5.

Dvd gets ejected

when I put in the install dvd of logic studio after awhile it gets ejected . This does not happen with the other dvds of the suite.Could you help me?

The devices that are listed are: 2 under the name of the device that synced incorrectly with mine and then 3 others that are not associated with my itouch. The name of the ipod, before the incorrect sycning is no longer under devices. It has been replaced with the incorrect one because I can see the serial # of my ipod under the wrong name.
The playlists that are in my itunes library are from an ipod that I used a few times before I took this one over... Which happens to be the ipod that took on the ID of my itouch.
Both of these ipods used to be my kids.. I used my sons a few times and then switched to my daughters. They each had their names attachted to their particular devices and now it just says my sons, which is the ipod that itunes was connecting to when all this happened. The really strange thing is my son doesnt use his ipod any longer and now uses his phone for music...So, it had been a while since that particular device was even synced to itunes!

PAPI: Get processId of subflow process from Activity list of parent process

Using PAPI or PAPI-WS how can I get the processId of the related process of a subflow activity?
Specifically, I want to get the processId of all the subflow processes of a parent process provided I only have the parent process ID.
For example, lets say my project has three processes with the following ID's:
MainID1
SubflowID1
SubflowID2
Assume my main process is MainID1 and that is only made up of two activities:
1) a subflow activity that has SubflowID1 as the related process.
2) a subflow activity that has SubflowID2 as the related process
So in my case I need to get back "SubflowID1" and "SubflowID2" provided that initially I only know the ID of the main process MainID1.
With PAPI/PAPI-WS I can get the list of activities of a process. So I can get back a list of two activities of type "SUBFLOW" for MainID1. However the activity object only gives me the ID of the activity itself and of the activity's parent process. It doesn't contain the ID of the subflow related process. Is there a way to do this?
Please let me know if this needs further explanation. I know it's somewhat convoluted. Thanks!

So you need a way to traverse through a process hierarchy even though instances may not be in the process? Sounds like you've created some type of recursive process topology and want to find related activities in the sub-process structure even though instances are not in the structure. If so, I've never seen a use case for this and so I wouldn't know how to do it. FindInstanceByFilter is your closest thing you have. But not having instances in the sub-processes to get information about the process hierarchy prohibits this. Perhaps you can plant tracer instances that you can normally filter out from normal work-flow. When you need to obtain a process hierarchy then you just look for these tracers.
Interesting problem. Sorry I don't have a good answer.

Panther Install disks get ejected on attempt to uprgrade from OSX 10.1

I just bought a used Powermac G4 877 Mhz that had OS 10.2 installed. It has upgraded memory, ungraded Pioneer Combodrive (DVD-RW CD-RW)and an updated video card. I have Panter OSX 10.3 (Panther) Install disks. My goal was to upgrade this new G4 to 10.3 with these disks.
I first used the seller's 10.1 Install disks to clean out the system and start from scratch. Then I attempted to load my 10.3 Install disks to begin the installation. I held down the "c" key as you are supposed to when you restart the OS but instead of coming up in the Installer, the 10.3 disks for ejected and the operating system booted into 10.1.
I'm not sure if this symptom is related but I notice that there is no sound coming from Playing iTunes songs after I installed OS10.1
I'm taken a step backward because when the Mac was sold to me I checked out from the Profiler that the OS was v10.2. Now I'm at v10.1 and don't have a way to get to 10.3 because of this problem.
Any suggestion on fixing this problem would greatly be appreciated. What happened and how do I fix it?

For whatever reason, the sypmtoms of this problem went away just by re-doing the installation of OS X 10.1 from the original installation disks and downloading a few security updates to 10.1 until the OSX 10.1 Updater said I was "up to date".
After this install, I was able to load my 10.3 Panther install disks w/o them being ejected and w/o a non-response (i.e., no error diaglogs and no appearance of my installation CD on the desktop) from OS 10.1.
If anyone cares to offer up a reason for why near-identical recreaation of the steps resulted in the original problem, I would be interested in hearing.

The blank dvd r keeps getting ejected ...

I am trying to burn an imovie to a blank dvd+r. Wnen I click on "burn dvd." ..the computer ejects the disk. This a new set of dvd+r I bought at Staples , specs are 16x. Any thoughts??? Do I need special formated disks to burn an imovie??

I have used power mac 6100-66 since 1994 that is still working in my studio, I love MAC, In My Studio, I have two Macs, One is Power Mac 6100-66av and iMAC G4 17" flat Dome.
I have No Idea why my DVD -R Burning Broblem with others brnad blank DVD-R except Apple brand. and you company said, "Typically Apple branded discs are just repackaged Verbatims."
But My DVD Burning is still problem with that Verbatim brands DVD-R.
Really,if you take care of your future customer, Your company needs responsibility to even just, one customer's sound.
Now, I have no solution except to buy external Firewire burner with my money.
Now to Future, who can buy the MAC without the clear solution service in Apple Co.?
