  • 'Paper Mismatch' error message on HP Photosmart 6510

    Hi,
I seem to keep getting the error message 'Paper Mismatch' when trying to print on my HP Photomsart 6510, I have read your forum regarding this message but that doesn't seem to help me. It seems to work fine when i'm using standard A4 paper, but I want to print on a slightly thicker paper GSM 80, and it used to work fine - but all of a sudden it keeps giving me that error message. When I changed the printer settings to 'custom' as suggested, it did print - however the document went a funny angle and didn't print properly. I would really appreicate your help on this.
    Thanks.

I will do my best to try to think of something that is not in the previous forums.  Tell me, what kind of software are you printing from (ex. Word, Adobe, etc.)?  Quite often there is a template within the software you are using.  For Word, select the Mailings Tab and check in envelopes or labels for that exact paper type.
Is your operating system Windows 7, XP, Mac, etc?  I hope I can guide you to the proper setting but I will need to know more.
Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" if I helped solve your problem.

  • Paper mismatch error message on hp7500a when using eprint

I have an HP7500A wide format printer
When I send pictures from my phone to the printer via eprinter, I get a error message on printer 'Paper Mismatch'.
    Paper size or type incorrect.
Yet when I check the settings it is set to A4, which is the paper I use.
Could anyone explain what I need to do to rectify this problem ?
    This question was solved.

    Hello Nashy58,
The issue is in how ePrint works with the PhotoSmart printer line.  When you send a photo to the printer via ePrint, ePrint will print to the photo tray automatically.  Right now there is no way to change this.  To print a photo to plain paper via ePrint, you would have to put plain paper in the photo tray, which I would not recommend since it was not designed to handle that paper type.

  • When eprinting from an iphone or ipad, i get an error message "paper mismatch"

HP Officejet 6500A Plus has wireless capability and ePrinting.  When printing a photo from the HP ePrint App on an iPhone or iPad, results in an error message about "paper mismatch".  The 1st print attempt had letter paper in the tray.  The picture was full 8 1/2 x 11 print.
When paper in tray was changed to 4 x 6, the above error occured.  I could not find a way to change paper setting from the iPhone or iPad.

Ok, the ePrint app is entirely unnecessary. Go to the photo library on the iPhone and then click the action button (looks like a box with a curved arrow pointing to the right). Then select print, make sure your printer shows up and select print again. The ePrint app is for printing in public locations, not to your specific printer.
Let me know if this helps!

  • My Officejet 7410 keeps displaying "Paper Mismatch" on incoming faxes

    Hi!
I'm posting here since I couldn't find any help on this specific issue on the web or HP Support.  As the subject says, whenever a fax is being received, a message displays both on my monitor and the unit's screen that says "Paper Mismatch".  The paper I'm using is letter, plain paper, but for some weird reason everytime a fax is received it is apparently recognizing it as A4.  It takes the paper from the upper tray, displays the message and then just doesn't print anything leaving it on the output tray.  I just take that same paper, replace it to its original position in the upper tray and after pressing the "OK" button it resumes printing the fax without any problems.  It happens only with the first page on any fax (the problem is not tied to any phone number in specific, happens with all incoming faxes).  If there's more than one transaction in memory, the error keeps happening on the first page for each instance.
The machine works fine overall, but this pesky super annoying problem must have a solution, I think.  Every morning, when I come to work, I find that there were around 6 incoming faxes and non of them printed because it doesn't recognize the first page as letter.  Additionally, it there's a power outage, the machine might forget those faxes in memory.
I'm using Windows XP Professional SP3.
Thanks for your time and help in advance!

    Hi,
I do have an issue with my Officejet 8500 pro with two paper trays.
Tray 2 has plain paper en tray 1 has special paper. In the settings of the printer tray 1 is the default one and tray 2 is locked because it contains special paper. This works fine except for incoming faxes by e-fax, the first page (mail header) is printed from tray 2, the second page (the fax attachment) is printed from tray 1 even when it is locked. I tried everything but it allways goes to tray 1. When i unload paper from tray 1 (empty) it still want to print from tray one.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
    Regards Andries
    Correction:
" In the settings of the printer tray 1 is the default one and tray 2 is locked because it contains special paper." must be tray 1 locked and tray 2 default

  • Paper mismatch

Using HP8600 wireless printer.  When I try to copy an envelope that is on the glass to envelope set up in the tray I get message "paper detected does not match paper size".  I have tried selecting "card envelope" for the paper size even though I'm not using the computer--just trying to copy with printer--I get the error message.  Thanks.

Hello mstirrett, and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are experiencing a paper mismatch error. I would like to help.
I would first recommend performing a power reset. Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would then recommend utilizing this document on 'Paper Mismatch,' or 'Paper Size Mismatch' Error Message Displays When Printing.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Error:Paper Mismatch

I'm getting an error - paper mismatch and when the officejet j6480 attempts to print - it also sounds awful.
I've checked and changed the print setting like the error message had asked.  Again, it saids that I'm using the wrong paper size and I'm using 8.5 x 11.
I get the same error message whether the print job is from the PC or from Officejet (copy and print direcly from the printer).
It will print, but the results are bad.

  • HP Envy 5660 - Paper jam message

Our HP Envy 5660 printer is 2 weeks old.  It was purchased at an electronics chain store.
Set-up was easy.  No issues until the second week of ownership.  An error message popped up reporting a paper jam issue.  Followed directions to take out the jammed paper.  Note, there was no paper jammed nor any pieces of paper stuck in the printer.
I thought perhaps the paper tray needed attention.  Not the case.
No changes have been made to our system before the issue occurred
Somebody, please help us clear up this problem.
    Thanks, Tomodachi

    Hi @Tomodachi
Is this the document you used to troubleshoot the original paper jam message? A 'Paper Jam' Message Displays on the Control Panel.
If not, please skim through it to ensure you have done all of the necessary troubleshooting. If the issue persists, I suggest leaving the printer on and unplugging the power cable for a minute to perform a hard reset.
If the issue still remains resolved, I'd call HP. If you are in Canada or US call 800 474 6836, or you can Contact HP Worldwide.
HP printers generally have a 1 year warranty from their purchase date, you can verify the warranty using the following link if you would like; warranty check.

  • HP 4215 all in one 'printer out of paper' error message

I cannot clear out a 'printer out of paper' error message that is prohibiting me from printing further documents.  Paper is in holder accurately, I've even copied to ensure it is feeding.

Hard Reset – While printer is powered ON, pull
the power cord from the printer then from the
wall. After 30 seconds reconnect power to
wall and printer. This will trigger a ‘dirty power
up’ and restore the printer to a known good
condition (if it is possible). No user settings
are lost with a ‘hard reset’.
This ‘Hard Reset’ is one of the most powerful
tools to use when the printer hardware is not

  • RE: HP 6110 all-in-one paper mismatch

My 6110 HP all-in -one won't do anything but tell me that it 'needs an alignment' press 'enter'.  When I press "enter' a sheet of blank paper comes out right away and the display says,"paper Mismatch".  I have tried all the paper sizes listed, to no avail.  I can't get the printer to do anything else.  I tried reinstalling the driver disk. too, but no use.  Can anyone help me with this problem??

    Hello CrossBear,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.
Regarding the HP Officejet 6110 inquires you have about the USB cable and software, I would like to help. The USB cable needs to be USB 2.0 A-B, they are not product specific.
HP Officejet 6110 All-in-One Printer Drivers is where you can download the software and drivers for your Operating System if available. This printer does not have full feature software for Windows Vista, 7 and 8 for example.
Let me know if this has helped.

  • "Files Mismatch" message when logging

I'm in the process of logging my footage. All my clips are currently off line and when I try to reconnect them to the media (AIC.mov files in my capture scratch folder), I get the "files Mismatch" message. I tried to ignore it and continue but it messed up my time codes.
The reason I checked off the box "matching files only" is that FCP would not let me choose the correct file (it was gray) when trying to reconnect and that box was checked.
    Any ideas?

I exported a batch list back into my documents folder and the clips have the same TC so I guess it OK. It's more detailed than the original excel doc, but the details are identical.
I have also moved back the project folder (capture scratch, render files etc..) into the documents folder as it was before and tried to reconnect but nothing seems to help.
As a guide I used the Ken Stones website and that's where I got the idea to do the logging offline using excel and then importing it into FCP. In the guide as well once he imported them into FCP they came of line but then he captured it from the tapes, but in my case all my footage is already in the computer, playing perfectly when played...

  • My MX892 is clicking and can not draw paper - I get a load paper error message - any suggestions?

My MX892 is clicking and can not draw paper - I get a load paper error message - any suggestions?

    Hi keciakh,
To try and get the paper to feed, with a flashlight or other bright light, please check the paper feed area of the printer and verify that there are no paper jams or obstructions in the printer that may be causing the error.   Once this has been done, please look inside of the printer where the inks are located and ensure that there are no obstructions in there that may be causing the print head not to move freely.  Next, please remove and reseat all of the ink tanks in the printer.  Once all of these steps have been performed, please follow the steps below to perform a roller cleaning on the printer:
You need to prepare: three sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper
    1. Make sure that the power is turned on.
    2. Open the paper output tray gently.
    3. Select Roller cleaning.
    (1) Press the MENU button.
    (2) Select Setup, then press the OK button.  The setup menu screen will appear.
    (3) Select Maintenance, then press the OK button.  The Maintenance screen will appear.
    (4) Select Roller cleaning, then press the OK button.
    The confirmation screen will appear.
    (5) Select Yes, then press the OK button.
    (6) Select the paper source to clean (Rear tray or Cassette), then press the OK button.
    4. Clean the paper feed roller without paper.
    (1) Follow the message to remove any paper from the paper source you selected in (6) of step 3.
    (2) Press the OK button.  The paper feed roller will rotate as it is cleaned.
    5. Clean the paper feed roller with paper.
    (1) Make sure that the paper feed roller has stopped rotating, then follow the message to load three or more sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the paper source you selected in (6) of step 3.
    (2) Press the OK button.  The machine starts cleaning. The cleaning will be complete when the paper is ejected.
    (3) When the completion message appears, press the OK button.  The screen will return to the Maintenance screen.
