Paper Profiles

I have a G4 Mac, System 10.4.10 and a R800 Printer.
The prints are far too dark. I had this problem when using the beta Lightroom and solved it when I installed the Epson profiles.
I now have a mismatch in the profiles listed under Lightroom Print module and those in the printer driver.
Further, the original Profiles supplied by Epson do not seem to be available anymore, at least I could not find them.
There is a marked difference in the Print since I upgraded to 10.4.10

Chris
I do turn off the Printer colour Management, but the profiles in Lightroom must also be available in the Printer Driver, otherwise the Driver will use an alternative Profile.
This is what is happening to me.
I don't know what Tom is trying to say, do you?

  • Printer/Paper profiles not showing up in Lightroom 1.3.1

I installed 2 new paper profiles from Red River over the weekend in XP Pro. Only 1 of them actually show up in lightroom to choose from. The one that can be selected works fine but I can't view the other one. I've tried uninstalled and reinstalling it. I can, however, see and select this profile in Photoshop CS and other applications. Lightroom seems to be the only one with problems. Does this point back to a red river problem or is lightroom picky about something I don't know?

I talked to LR today -- no help, told me to call Epson.
Epson advised me to go tp PRINT mode > RT menu > Print Job > Managed by Printer click this and choose other. Drop down menu appears and you can choose your profile. then back to print setting and the profile should show up there.
My profile did not show there -- I was advised that because I have Matte Black ink cartridge in the print that the Premium Luster will not show because PL will only print with Photo Black.
So I need to change the ink type and hopefully I will be able to print on the Prem Luster.
    ope this helps you.

  • Where are printer paper profiles stored in Mavericks?

In previous versions of OS X, I could find where my printer paper profiles were stored. I have some test paper profiles that don't work and I want to delete them but I can't find them in Mavericks 10.9.2 I have done a search for their name but apparently they are hidden although they show up in Photoshop and the Printer dialog box. What and where is the folder I need to look in? Thanks for your help.

  • All Paper Profiles = Magenta Cast...Display Profiles are fine

    R3000 - Windows 7 - 64 bit - Lightroom 5.6 - Print Module
Tried every possible combination of printer driver Mode and Profile (under Color Management tab in print module).
Using OFF (no color adjustment), as recommended by Epson or Epson Standard or ICM with any paper profile produces either very dark images or heavy Magenta Color Cast.  The only setting that produce a proper print (or Print to: JPEG file for that matter) are Adobe RGB mode and Adobe RGB Profile (I believe SRGB works as well).  I'm baffled.  I have a properly calibrated monitor and I've read all the manuals and message boards....I've downloaded new Epson profiles and Red River profiles...all produce heavy Magenta Cast....I cannot find a way to use a Paper ICC profile.

For what its worth I am posting screen shots of my "Windows 7 Color Management settings".
I use a Canon Pro9000 Mk11 so I cannot comment on how to turn off the color management in the Printer Drivers preferences, which needs to be done if you are selecting a color profile in Lightroom.
See if the additional info at this link helps.

  • How do I install Paper Profiles (.icc)?

I am trying to install a paper profile I downloaded from Hahnemuhler .(PhotoRag) ...
.icc profile selected that matches the printer and paper
I copied the .icc profile to what I think is the right place: C:\windows\System32\spool\drivers\color
I right clicked the profile for PhotoRag
    I clicked Install
I restarted LightRoom and Photoshop ...
I looked under all paper profile options (incl. Other) ...
    NO PHOTORAG ...
What do you think I left out or missed?
    PC
    Windows 7
    Photoshop, Lightroom (latest versions)
    Much appreciated ... Chuck

you can see the icc profiles when you convert your color settings from RGB to CMYK.
    Therefore, you can try in Photoshop menu;
Edit - Convert to Profile and then you can select the profile which you've loaded to your Computer.
    Hope that works.

  • I am on Lightroom 4 and using a Epson photo stylus R300 printer and cannot seem to put Hahnemuehle paper profiles on to it, anyone know how?

Anyone know how to put paper profiles onto a Epson R3000 printer via Lightroom 4?

    Installation using Mac OS:
    1. Double-click on the downloaded Zip-file. The ICC profile will be extracted in the same folder automatically.
    2. Now move the extracted ICC profile to the proper folder listed below.
Mac OS 8-9x - System Folder > Color Sync Folder
    Mac OS X - HD > User > Library > ColorSync > Profiles
Note: Please restart your graphics application (eg photoshop) if it was open during the profile installation.

  • Canon paper profiles missing, Mac

When printing from PS CS5, I no longer see the choices for Canon papers in the print dialog on my Mac Pro. I recently upgraded my computers to Mountain Lion. My laptop still shows the Canon mp620 profiles so I can print from there. If I knew where to find these profiles I could reinstall them on the MP. Thanks.

These Canon paper profiles used to show up in the print and proof menus but now they are gone. I wish to get them back.

  • Photoshop CS 4 won't use paper profiles.

Running Photoshop CS 4. Changed operating system to Windows 7 64 bit. Using a calibrated monitor and Epson 3800 printer. The paper profiles are not being applied by photoshop. Printed 50% gray scale patches with no correction. The printer managed  patches were more accurate than the photoshop managed grayscale patches. The photoshop managed 50% gray scale  were not even close. Anyone had this problem. Any insight greatly appreciated.

Go to c:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 9\Locales\<locale>\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere else.
Now launch PSE and check if it works.
    Alternatively,
Try resetting the PSE preferences by
       1. Close Elements.
       2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Edit.
       3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall.
try and let me know your comments.

  • Finding paper profiles for printer

I have an Epson and a Canon inkjet printer connected to my Macs, and I am trying to find profiles for different inkjet papers that I can add to the printers so that they will print correctly on the papers.
The available paper types listed in the printing options are very limited and don't include options even for the range of papers sold by the printer manufacturer.
I am not familiar with this process.
Are there downloadable profiles for printers working on Mac OSX?
Can you load paper profiles for different brands of paper?
Does the process involve something more?
I have read about having to do calibrations and even having to buy profiles from commercial sources, but I am not clear how all this works.
    Thanks for any advice.

    Sandra,
A Web search shows that the Epson R200 ICC profiles can still be downloaded from Epsons Europe support site:
    http://esupport.epson-europe.com/ProductHome.aspx?lng=en-IE&data=0ccCGROWIYNJMHdXYGN6YGnTD tzMkZkpGSql5Sbfon4U003D&tc=6
You can extract the profiles into a folder and then use Control Panel > Color Management > All Profiles > Add to add those profiles to your system.

  • No paper profiles in LR 5.7.1

Lighroom 5.7.1 Win 7 64. New homebuilt rig so new LR install. print> managed by "other"> no pop up menu at all. All paper profiles have been synced from my HP Z3200 and show up in win>>>color where they are meant to. BUT nothing shows up in LR. Printer setup has the profiles, just not in print dialogue in LR. If I click on other it actually freezes LR half of the time. The other half absolutely no pop up profiles to choose. Tried an install of 5.4 to see if that was the problem. No difference

Really stupid but it turns out that because I am using a two monitor setup for the first time, the dialogue was appearing on the second monitor behind another programs display

  • How can I restore ICC paper profiles?

I have added a few ICC paper profiles to my Colorsync Profiles folder (Mac OS X) Since then Lightroom shows an empty profiles list. What went wrong? What shoul I do?
I have restore Lightroom. The profiles seem to be in the right folder (user/LibraryColorsync/profiles) but it looks like Lightroom cannot see them.
Is there something else to check somewhere?

The profiles I am talking about are those downloaded from paper manufacturers, specific to my printer (sp 3800) and to each paper, which I used to store in the Hardisk/ Library/ Colorsync/profiles folder.
What happened is quite strange. I download new profiles from Hartman because I wanted to try a new printing paper. I stored that profile and then I clicked on the "others" button in the paper selection window in the printing module of Lightrom 1,4. all the profiles I used previously had disappeared the window was empty. However when accessing the above mentionned folder they do show up. Why can't Lightroom 1.4 see them?
Since yesterday I have down loaded a trial version of Lightroom 2.5 and in that version it works ie the profiles do show up
    Any explanation?
    Thanks

  • Please help with paper profiles

I'm trying to set a paper profile I use with my canon i560 printer. I set the profile under printing preferences where I set the print quality, color adjustments and intensity then add to the profile tab under printing preferences. Where I seem to have my problem is I can't seem to bring up this profile in the color management tab in printer properties where lightroom should be able to recognise it under color managed by lightroom,,,,,Bob

Bob, if I understand correctly you've set up a media profile for the paper in the Canon print driver, correct? This is different to the profile selectable in Lightroom's "Print Job" properties, which refers to the output profile (*.icc) for the selected paper. If you don't already have one for the Ilford Smooth Gloss paper it's freely available from the Ilford web site.
To set up a print template within Lightroom specific to this paper, select the image settings, layout and print job options (including the output .icc profile for the Ilford paper if managing the colour via LR) as required, then press the "Print Settings..." button. The Canon printer driver dialogue will open, and from that load the profile you created for the Ilford Smooth Gloss paper. Click "OK" to exit. Now.... on the PC there's also a "Page Setup..." button which also opens the printer driver dialogue. Your profile settings should still be showing in that - check everything's as expected and click "OK" to exit. Now click the "Add" button below the Template Browser and give your new template a useful name. It will now use your selected printer driver profile by default.
I hope this is of help to you. If you use more than one size and type of paper then Print Templates are a real boon.

  • Installing paper profiles in CS5

I am trying to install Hahnemühle paper profiles to print on my Epson R2880, but can not get them to show up in the Printer Profile drop down in the Print window.  I have gone to the paper web sites and picked the paper profile I need.  Then download to my new iMac and they don't show up in Color Sync or in CS5.
I had no problems in my old iMac in having them show up as a selection option after I closed Photoshop and reopened it, but can not get my new iMac to do the same.
    Please help!!--Steve

Check that the profiles are installed in the correct location as shown in the Choose Profiles dialog box which opens from LR. On 32 bit OS this is windows/system32/spool/drivers/color...this may be different on 64 bit OS. LR will only recognise RGB profiles so if you have CYMK profile these will not show up.Also check the box Include Display Profiles as sometimes paper profiles show up as display profiles for some reason.

  • Paper profiles in the color management dialog

Hello:I am new to the LR 2 print module I have used CS4. I find that the color management dialogue under
"other" does not contain all the color and BW paper profiles that are downloaded into the color folder in Widows. I use Vista 64  but I have not checked any of the checkboxes in the color management dialog thereby knowingly excluding any profiles. How do I get all my profiles into color mangement in LR 2?
